Bow WoW!! This was my second stay at Reverie Retreat with my humans and I again give it five stars!…read moreMy humans let me sniff every single corner of this place, and let me tell you the smells were a delight. Unfortunately they have a rule that all dogs must be leashed but had I been able to roam free I would have enjoyed chasing the jack rabbits, squirrels and deer. My humans took me for nice walks through the woodsy property. There were SO many huge rocks, I could hardly decided which to lift my leg on. While my humans were enjoying the pool/hot tub, I relaxed in solitude in my crate in our cabin and enjoyed Dog TV on my iPad. At night my humans relaxed in the outdoor soaking tub under the stars while I enjoyed stargazing from my bed next to the gas fire pit. This was truly a heavenly vacation for both humans and fur babies alike. We are already looking forward to our third visit in hopefully the very near future. Best wishes to our hosts, The Family Dog Toby

A Tranquil Escape at Reverie Retreat in the Black Oak Cabin…read more After a year of transition, transforming and the normal aging process.  My loving wife set up a surprise get away weekend for us. If you are looking for the perfect blend of rustic and modern comfort, the Reverie Retreat is an absolute gem.I almost don't want to tell you about it because I want to keep this treasure to myself.  When we arrived we were warmly greeted, including our anticipated pet Toby. The hot tub provided two amazing sunsets as we looked out over the beautiful infinity pool.  Off in the horizon, Sacramento. This was an unexpected but immensely appreciated experience.  Nestled in the heart of Coloma, this stay is a peaceful sanctuary that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of our normal lives. Shockingly, it is only 1 hour and 45 from our home in Vacaville!! Nestled in the rich history of California's Gold Country. Why It's Special: * Immersive Nature: The cabin is surrounded by a stunning array of Northern California trees and local wildlife.  Maybe it was that March madness, Spring time feel, but from the moment of sunrise the birdsongs greeted our movements outside the cabin and at sunset the periodic songs of frogs set the mood for days end.  During our daylight hours the  silence with only the sound of the wind in the trees and the birdsongs reminded me of my childhood days in the Rogue Valley.  These sounds of silence and the circle of life aid in resetting our soul and opening the door for peace to come during a time when the world seems to have spun off into chaos and uncertainty. * Thoughtful Design: The interior of the Black Oak cabin strikes a perfect balance between cozy and chic. It's clear that every detail--from the comfortable bedding to the curated decor--was chosen to make guests feel instantly at home.  Every need is carefully thought of and met. Each of the three cabins has its own private two person soaking tub with hot and cold water enabled for use at any time of the day and night. * Outdoor Living: The deck is the star of the show. Whether you're sipping coffee in the morning mist or stargazing at night, the atmosphere is pure magic. * Location: Being in Coloma means you're minutes away from the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, the David Girard Winery and the South Fork of the American River.  It really is an ideal base for hikers, history buffs, and rafters alike. The Verdict The Reverie Retreat has created something truly special with three lovely cabins, one being fully ADA compliant, it's more than just a place to sleep; it's an experience that leaves you feeling refreshed and inspired. Whether you're on a solo retreat or a romantic getaway alone or with other couples, this adults only retreat and in particular our Black Oak cabin is a 10/10 recommendation. "The perfect spot to unplug, breathe deep, reset and reconnect with nature ."

This review is for the Wander in the Woods experience with Jamie on 1/31/2026!…read more Are you in need of a reset, or some slowing down from the hustle and bustle of everyday life? Time out in nature? Breathing deeply and meditating with the woods around you? This class is for you! I absolutely loved this experience! It was so peaceful. Having 2 hours to explore in nature with a guide to direct your intention forces you to slow down and interact with your environment. Being outside and sunbathing on a sunny, winter day was lovely. I left feeling grounded and more connected to myself and my surroundings. The chatter in my head was significantly subdued. Location: For starters, Lake Tahoe Yoga = Bliss Experiences. The address originally listed on the website was wrong/ old. After I mentioned it, the location on their website has now been updated! :) The studio is in a little plaza down Kingsbury grade. Maybe an hour from Reno, it is an easy drive when conditions are clear. Scheduling: Normally scheduled on Friday's, I got an email on Wednesday asking if we could move the class to Saturday morning. Although I was flexible, it would be nice to have a little more notice in the future. To bring: Your blanket (one you wouldn't mind getting some dirt on), journal, pen, some warm clothes if during winter, hiking boots, and a good attitude! Experience: I was the only person in the class! I really didn't know what to expect outside of a guided meditation. We met at the Lake Tahoe Yoga studio and started by walking to a nearby trail ( ~10 mins) and introduced ourselves. Along the way, Jamie outlined the session, and pointed out unique growth/ nature features that were special to this area. I was guided to feel almost a childlike sense of curiosity to feel and interact with the world around me; intentionally slipping on the ice a bit, touching moss, and noticing unique features in the landscape, like an alcove of Aspens. As we walked further, I was given options for where we could settle. We found a cozy place on a log, where we could sit in the sun and feel warm enough to still ourselves. Here, I was guided through all of the senses except for taste, and was given time to practice on my own. I had time to journal and just bask at the beauty around us. I probably could have sat there for another 10 - 20 mins just in a meditative state. Afterwards, we began making our way back slowly, walking through the woods and paying attention to what was going on around us - animals, sunshine, seasonal differences. I also learned some new and fun words for describing forests! The session actually ended a little early. I didn't mind since I was hungry and it was lunch time. Session takeaway's & room for improvement: Since I was the only one in the class, the structure of our session was very relaxed and catered to my preferences. Jamie is very sweet and considerate of your needs, and is willing to cater the experience if you want more time reflecting, meditating, or using your senses. If the weather improves, maybe even an opportunity for some yoga poses?? Jamie was very receptive to my thoughts and it seems like the flow of the class is still being tweaked since it is relatively new. Jamie is also studying in nutrition and is offering some unique classes related to Mindful eating. Overall, there are some really neat classes being offered! I look forward to coming back and getting my zen on!

Bachelorette Parties Beware! If you are planning a calm,…read moregentle reset with your girls for a bachelorette party I would look elsewhere. My friend, the bride, had organized and paid for all ($25/person, the drop-in rate) all 9 of us to attend a Saturday morning, 9 am gentle flow class more than a month prior to us going. Fast forward the week of, the bride receives an email mentioning that the guide who typically offers the Saturday Gentle Flow is out of town, and as a result of the late change, they do not have another guide for 9am. She did offer us times on Friday, Saturday and Sunday noting that 5 out of the 7 options would be a private session for our group. The only time that worked with our plan of events was 7am on Saturday (one of the private session options) so as a group we all agreed and were excited to start our day with a gentle flow. Our poor bride, who I should mention is the sweetest, most go with the flow wants everyone to be happy kind of woman, begins receiving calls and texts from the owner asking if we really want to do 7am with a bachelorette party, she has to drive in and teach the class herself, and because it was now a private class it would be $78 dollars more! It was nowhere in the rescheduling email that it would cost more for the private session. The math was not mathing. The night before class, we all ask the bride what she wanted to - we're girls girls, we ride together. She very much wanted to start the day with a gentle flow class. That was all we needed, all 8 of us were 100% in with the bride and promised to go in with open minds. We arrive on time and walk in surprised how close together our 9 mats are to one another, there was no way if she had opened the class up to others to make it a non-private session even one more person would have fit! Again, we take a deep breath, try hard to have open minds and sit on our mats. Then the guide/owner opens her mouth...She does not start with a congratulations to the bride, in fact not once does she acknowledge or congratulate the bride, instead she starts with "wow I'm surprised you are all here at 7 am, usually bachelorettes have a hard time getting here at 9am." Then she sits on her mat and in a condescending tone ask "how is the elevation treating you all, nauseous? Headaches? Fatigue?" I laugh because clearly she is trying to figure out if we're hungover - which we were not! As I laugh she looks over, and without hesitation I let her know I'm always fatigued and tired, I'm a mom of a toddler. Another friend mentions that half of us are moms, the other half are teachers we are always all fatigued. The owner then changes the topic to see what problem areas we may be having, collectively we let her know that there are some tight hips, sore shoulders, and lower back pains. She lets us know she will guide us through a restorative flow to address those issues. Not the gentle flow we signed up for. Like I mentioned the room was small. There were times that friends had their feet and hands on one another because there was no room. We were told this was okay, lean into your friends. With a foot in a face?!? That's normal and okay? Two of us were against a wall and couldn't even fully do some of the flows because our arms and legs had no room and no where to go because of the wall. The bride didn't even have the straps and blocks at her station when we started. We never did any typical yoga flow positions, no child's pose, no down, no warriors, no tree, and shavasana had two blocks under our backs that were very uncomfortable and not how I have ever ended a yoga class. In fact, there was really no flow. It was do this position with these blocks, add straps, etc. Halfway through I noticed she was taking photos of us. We never signed anything allowing her to take photos of us. She never even asked for a verbal okay before taking pictures. And some of the positions she had us in while taking photos could not be flattering for anyone. I noted that and was planning on calling her out at the end. Luckily, at the end of class she mentioned she took photos "for us" and would air drop them to the bride. Two of these photos have ended up on her insta-stories this week. Obviously, these photos were for her own personal gain and not for us. Again, not one of us approved the photos being taken let alone used for her social media content. And the kicker - remember how the math was not mathing. Well, in a very stern tone, she calls the bride at the end of class that they had things to finish up front, aka pay the unexplained $78. Again, our sweet, kind bride didn't want any trouble and just handed over her credit card. Maybe she's kinder to corporate retreats or drop-ins, but if you're planning on going for a bachelorette party do not expect for your bride to be congratulated/made to feel special, instead plan on being judged and expected to be hung over.

The scalp massage was incorporated into the 60 minutes, not in addition to, which took away from the 60 minute massage. It's misleading. I wouldn't have paid for an "add-on" if I had known. When I booked it, it said total time was 1hr 15. And when I later asked, they said that includes clean-up time. What does clean-up time have to do with the time shown to the guest? There's also a reason Dolce Vita had availability last-minute, when Atlantis and Peppermill didn't. Dolce is simply not worth the price. The amenities are very very average. In the ladies room, there's only a steam room and sauna. The shampoo and conditioner are poor quality too. The men's room (according to my partner) doesn't even have a steam room. I've visited Dolce about three times, and this past weekend will be my list. You can get a much better experience elsewhere, and for less money. The masseuses are good, but the customer service is just ok. Really wish they'd be more upfront about add-ons, and really wish they'd step up their amenities because the location has potential.

I booked a facial there, and the aesthetician apparently did not have a license to do extractions…read more She gave me a consultation at the beginning of the treatment to see what my needs were and I emphasized the need for cleaning up my blackheads. That was the whole reason I went there, and she did not mention that she couldn't do extractions at that time and went ahead and gave me the facial. When I asked about them at the end of the treatment she said "well we don't use the instruments anymore and not a doctor on site." This is BS because she was just covering up the fact that she is not licensed. I spent many hours at home with drugstore products, cleaning out the pores that she did not even address. $185 plus a 20% tip and I'm getting what I want from cheap drugstore products. I feel completely ripped off.

Finally had time to review this amazing spa! I was in the area for business and part of the trip…read moreinvolved a spa day, so my husband and I got a massage. It was our first massage ever and most definitely will not be our last. One thing I learned: Massages are not just self-care but "healthcare," I am now a believer in how much massages have the potential to really affect our overall health. First off, I had to start with how comfortable and relaxing it is when you walk in. Don't get me wrong, stairs is not everyone's friend, but other than that, the view from the second floor is worth it. When I met my therapist, I let her know I know nothing about this experience, or what to do, I am a first-timer, and she made me feel comfortable with what is going to happen and what I can look forward to. I never knew how much I valued comfort until I realized a massage involved getting a little bare. When my therapist left the room to allow me to disrobe, I was very grateful she took that time to talk to me to allow me to get comfortable with her and the upcoming massage. As we started the massage I noticed my therapist asked me great questions, but not too much to take away from the quiet atmosphere; the introvert in me was grateful, and I never felt awkward. I got a full body massage, but at one point she said she can spend more time in a specific area that needs extra attention. I did not mind that at all because as much as I loved my legs and arms getting worked, as an office worker, my shoulders and neck were crying for attention. My husband felt just as amazing and loved his massage as well - we were in different rooms. Something he really appreciated was that his therapist noticed he was sniffling a lot so she helped him relax with some add-on essential oils. After today, my husband and I went home and really started looking into ways to add massage therapy to our routine to keep up our health. As tourists, I don't know when/if we'll return but we are so grateful for the experience.
