I spoke with her two days ago explaining my situation and we concluded that a "VIP/expedited service" would best accommodate my needs and timeline which came with a $100 markup on the service of choice. Ok fine. However, there was absolutely nothing about my interactions with her leading up to the appointment that reflected a "VIP" experience would follow. Per our phone call and text messages, Maniya was well aware of my constraints and provided me the option to confirm with her the next day while I worked through outstanding details. I genuinely appreciated that and let her know as much. Per her instructions, I reached out at the time we agreed upon to confirm that I would take advantage of the opening that we discussed. I never heard back. My tentative appointment was for the next day at 9:30 am. Five hours later around 8:30 pm I text her again asking if this would be confirmed. Again, she was well aware of the constraints that I had. I stated that at a minimum I'd like to pick up the product(s) we discussed via phone if something had come up. She responded stating that she was "no longer available" even after offering availability to me and telling me that she would wait for my confirmation the day before. OK.... Definitely disappointing but at a minimum I figured I could still pick up the products that I needed right now, go to a different stylist for my immediate needs, and wait for her books to reopen for services in September. Although I was definitely scrambling at this point, I was STILL willing to purchase product from her in spite of not honoring her word. Today I followed up with her about picking up the items before she left town and she stated that she didn't offer a pick up option but failed to mention that the night before when she confirmed that I could order/pay for products. She previously told me the products were available in house so I did t understand where the issue lied. At a minimum, I felt that if she blew off my appointment after offering the time, the least she could do is meet me halfway by allowing me to pick up the product(s) we discussed during our initial call. I called her to discuss this as I know things could be misconstrued via text. She was SO NASTY over the phone! I calmly kept explaining to her that I wanted us to clarify things because there was an obvious miscommunication happening (on her blend). She talked over me repeatedly, would NOT listen to anything that I had to say, and had a very "holier than thou" attitude when speaking to me, and hung up in my face in the midst of me trying to find a resolution with her. I really wasn't sure if the call dropped or what. I called back and asked what happened. She stated that she hung up on me. At one point, she asked "how did I think that I had a pending appointment?" I tried to tell her BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT WE AGREED TO! She knew my special circumstances and mentioned nothing about a deposit or anything of that nature. I am a new client. I have no idea what her expectations may be and it is HER JOB as the consultant to walk me through her process if we are on a call together instead of trying to repeatedly mention an extra $100 fee to show up for an appointment DURING operating hours or as a walk in DURING operating hours! Why would I pay a "VIP fee" for a service during normal business hours? She continued to talk over me not letting me get a word in then called me a "stranger" when I was actually a prospective client as if that's any excuse for how she treated me. Am I supposed to believe that she would automatically show respect if I were sitting in her chair as an active client? If so, that alone is a testament to how phony she is as a person. She also stated that she only finds time for VIP appointments only if she "feels like getting up before 9:30 am" and that she has "multiple businesses" Umm WHAT?! lol I could easily "stick my chest out" too and surely blow her out of the water but why bother? It is of no significance here. I just wanted my hair done based on what we discussed! It just confirmed that she is an unprofessional ego-centric inexperienced girl who is obviously used to being disrespectful and dismissive to her clientele with no pushback. There is NO way I would allow myself to be serviced by someone like this who only cares about the bottom line at the expense of quality customer service. I found her on social media and was initially impressed with her work but the NASTY EGO and attitude she displayed trumps any perceived talent I may have thought she had. Per her page, she moved to Atlanta 2 years ago. Obviously she doesn't know that whatever she was pulling wherever she came from doesn't fly here in Atlanta. Humility is KEY.

However, Miyana's technique is antiquated and destructive (despite claims that it is protective and restorative). She braided thread into my natural hair causing extensive damage. Braids and stitching was done in multiple directions and looked completely amateur. The lace closure (which cost $90) was placed past my hair line and lifted revealing the braids beneath. My hairline and scalp have several areas that are extremely irritated and covered in rashes/sores. This $500+ hairstyle could only be worn in one style; a very loose ponytail was not even wearable because of the subpar sew-in technique. I was so disgusted even from the moment she finished that I forgot to document the closure but based on the other photos and descriptions I'm sure you can imagine. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.
