I wish I could give this center zero stars to rate it. Despite having a long-standing good reputation, they show no interest in working with the kids scheduling or enrollment. Despite of working according to their schedule, they're unwilling to provide the available times or days. I've been pursuing them for over a year now. I've tried to manage my time and day accordingly, but they always come up with some excuse or the other. Recently, I've been trying to enroll my five-year-old for over a month now. They said spot for 5 year old will open in April for certain day/time and that they will confirm once we enroll but enrollment shall be done on 31st not before that. I emailed them on 31st if I can begin enrollment and that spot is still open. They responded next day, that now the class is for an older group. Could you please explain why you advised me to check for enrollment for April? Few days prior to 31st, I checked again with you about this months enrollment, and you advised me to wait and check on the 31st only, not before that. You could have informed me that we don't have a class for that age group, period. If you were to add classes for older kids, why did you ask me to get assurance with you about April enrollment for that very day and time? Oh wait, you must have decided on the 31st itself to open classes for older kids for the same timing? Correct? Why didn't you communicate that to me well in advance especially when you know a parent is checking for the spot on the day and time that you only had mentioned? Mind you, this is just one month of experience. I've been trying my luck for a year now, and I have all the relevant emails to prove. There's no apology, no remorse, and no attempt to work with the client's schedule. Neither they anticipate that the client is trying to join the center, but they're not prepared to cooperate. It's tiring to be honest. I've already mentioned to them that I don't want my daughter to be coached by coach Irina. She spends more than half an hour near the trampoline, sitting on one side and never getting up. All she asks the kids to do is jump, without teaching them any technique. One time, she had just two kids, and my daughter got hurt. She couldn't even take care of just two kids in her class. Even after repeatedly mentioning to not give my kid that coach, he still suggests that I attend her classes only and that the only availability is with her. How ignorant can they be? If they don't want to enroll my child, simply tell me in my face rather than playing games to come today, check tomorrow, and enroll day after. They have taken this complaint very personally I must say. There's this person who sits behind the email and causes trouble for the potential family who wishes to enroll their child. They don't have a face, and when we visit the center to talk about this. There is this lady who tells us to speak to the person via email regarding scheduling. Whenever I agreed on a date and time for my child's enrollment that you offered, you somehow come up with ridiculous excuses to prevent me from enrolling. Well done! Keep up the good work. But again, it's useless to discuss matters via emails without a name. How safe are you, Aren't you? You have my phone number in previous enrollment form. If you have responsibility, you should be calling and resolving this issue, which is what customer service entails. You have lost business here, take it somewhere else and enjoy mocking other parents. I don't need anything to do with Us gym leonia from here on. This is completely preposterous and ignorant. And if the new enrollment parents who don't know this center already had one shameful case one of their coach who does not work there any more. But it was bad and pretty public. You can certainly google and see for yourself what is this case about. I am certain that after reading my comment, they will respond by stating, "Our scheduling and cancellation policies are meticulously crafted to ensure that spots in classes are accessible to all interested participants. I only signed up my kid because her cousin was in the Jr Ninja class. First few classes were ok but there is usually a substitute trainer at least once a month. The sub trainer just let the kids do their thing while he looks at his phone. One trainer there, always happy high five-ing and telling the kids that they did a great job but that trainer is for the younger kids that my kid is too old for. Would love my kid to be in that class. The last class of the season, the trainer told the kids to leave 5 minutes before the end of the class. No goodbye for a great season. Nothing. Kids were upset because they thought they did something wrong. That was the last straw. read more

Oh no.... Why so many negative comments, especially about rude, disrespectful and or racist from coach and staff? I didn't encounter that at all. Simple secret : treat other people like what you want to be treated. The customer service are rude? Big mistakes. I know all of them. They are there to help, answer your questions. Let's talk about coaches at here. Different coach has different style of coaching : from strict to soft. Some parents are ok, some don't. But when their coaching style don't suit you, it doesn't mean that coach is bad. You may ask to switch to the other coach as long as have a vacancy. I suggest you be there during the class to see by yourself how is your child and the coach doing. Have a good communication with coach to know how is your kid doing after seeing yourself. This is one of our favourite places. We came here since last year, from 'stranger' become 'friend'. Totally highly recommended!! read more

If I could give it minus stars I would! We came in August and paid for a trial class. My daughter was very excited to start! They didn't have the schedule yet and Patrick said he would call me as soon as the schedule was out. I have called 9x since then and was always told they would call me back within 24 hours to give me the schedule so then we could call me in and sign the contract. Well over a month later and I called again and... you guessed it. They are full for the class we wanted. Oh and keep in mind, thy NEVER called me back! I enrolled my daughter here for gymnastics after she was influenced watching the Sochi Olympics. So far we love it.Its a huge place and its one on one coaching which is great.Enrolling was simple and monthly fees are very reasonable compared to exorbitant prices in the city.There is a $50 registration fee. Joao Ribeiro is the Owner & Olympian himself.I believe quite a few students make it big from this academy.The coaches all seem very nice and my daughter is very fond of hers.She looks forward to her class the whole week. I was surprised to see there isn't a single review or even a business listing for this place.This review was mainly created so people are able to find another gymnastic option in Jersey.It took me a lot of googling (has this word been added to oxford dictionary yet) to find this place. We attempted to sign our daughter up here after she went to a trial class. She's almost 4 and we were looking for something fun, help develop her motor skills and seeing if she enjoyed it. First, you can't talk to anyone about signing up to explain their pricing. They don't call back if you leave a message or request a call. We left 4 messages over 2 weeks. When my wife was at facility they are too busy to talk to her. When she asked them to call me they said we have to call them. Finally, I wrote an email to the owner explaining what happened and was sure he wasn't aware of it. After all every business needs new business and good word of mouth. I get a call back from the office manager the next day after the email who proceeds on being demeaning, rude and constantly interrupting me. She's doing me a favor by explaining the pricing and taking our payment. She tells me after I get a word in that the preferred method of contact with them is email but she can't even explain what the cost is. Literally it was like an Abbott and Costello routine where I'm asking what does it cost and she's answering a question I never asked. Listening is not on the agenda for the Office Manager Denise. It was almost unbelievable how condescending she is. She actually told me what a great employee she is to show how superior she is. I made the mistake of calling at 3:15pm to speak to someone yesterday and apparently you guessed it they are very busy. She even gave me the exact time however didn't realize I called 3 other times over the last week and half. She even several tomes tomes me I'm being "angry" because I can't get her to answer what is going to cost. It really was funny to me. Can you imagine that you want someone to be a new customer or client and this is how you behave? Anyway you're paying by the class and day. Certain days are more money then others and depending on the month that's more or less depending on what you pick. They have gird pricing which is not easy or self explanatory in any way hence you want to speak to a human. Then there are tiny discounts if you pay by a certain day depending if that's monthly, annually or semi annually. We can sign up for a full year that's prorated since it runs from Feb.-June.) but can't sign up for the semi annual prorated which is from Sept.-Jan. Reason being-There is no reason. She won't do it. If you sign up for month to month there is a $50 difference in price depending on what day you pick. Then that price changes every month. So you can pay in Oct. $130 for a Sunday and then in November it goes to $82. If you take a Tuesday in October it's $106 and then in November it's $130. It's as if someone sat down and came up with the most confusing way to price anything. Is your head spinning yet? They also have an annual membership fee of $55. I asked what's it for. A T-shirt, an open class on Friday (which is part of signing up anyway) and insurance I'm told. I've never paid annual dues at any other high or low end facility and those items are paid for from the monthly or annual dues. They are just tacking on fees for profit. My guess is there are more fees to come. That's the real answer not the T-Shirt, etc. I have no problems with businesses making money. They should. $55 is not important to us but principles are. You are being ripped off. Parents, there are other gyms where they do appreciate your business and want to build a community. You're teaching your children a lot of lessons when they get into organized sports. This is not the kind of people you want your children learning from. I don't do in my business and won't do business with people that do. See they can close tomorrow and you'll never get a dime back. Gyms are notorious for it. Denise the office manager immediately say they wont waive the fee so end of discussion. After looking through other reviews people several are correct in describing them as sketchy and nasty. The way the place is run just from a business point of view borders on predatory since they know people want to sign their children up. Not the kind of people that I want my children around or would support. When I brought up what was written on Yelp with her Denise ignored it. What kind of business owner or manager is going to ignore such scathing reviews? Yes I want my daughters to have a fun place to go, enjoy themselves, make new friends and learn but not around people who have no respect for anything it seems. The customer service from the front desk is horrifyingly wicked, with the woman who runs the office often shouting at customers. She takes her cue from the owner who is based in Mahwah. My son has been on the competitive team for three years and he is now on the way to his four year competing for US Gym Leonia location. He is doing very well and he is learning a lot of gymnastics skills that are providing him an abundance range of discipline to be successful in his life. He is very dedicated to the sports and I am proud of him because I consider gymnastics the greatest sports all times. I often wonder why people leave such harsh reviews of this place. From Eddie, to Coach Iwona, Michael, Coach Gerald, and all the front desk staff, I have never experienced anyone being rude (or overheard) rudeness from any of the staff. Obviously, I can only speak to the coaches I've personally interacted with - Coach Iwona and Coach Gerald are simply FANTASTIC. We even had a party there and the party planners were excellent, the kids had a blast!!!!! So a little about my daughter, she started Gymnastics at 3 years old at a studio in Georgia. I noticed her love expand when she was 4, we've been to four studios and US Gym Leonia has by far the most professional, skilled, instructors (again I can only speak to ones I've worked with). Coach Iwona and Coach Gerald are excellent and Courtney and Meredith are great too. Coach Iwona takes the time to really develop and grow her students, and she's HONEST. She's not the kind of coach who lie about your child's talent to take money from you (I've had this happen in the past) with no intention of advancing your child. Reading from some of the reviews it seems like people want their children to advance in this sport not fully understanding the physical/mental/emotional investment it requires from the child. Everyone's child is not going to be a Junior Olympian, and if this is what you want, expect the coaches to be a little tough. Management of expectations is also important, people are complaining about the restrooms, really!? It's a gymnastics facility, kids are the predominate users of the bathrooms. What do you expect!? As long as the equipment is clean and safe why does it matter if the bathrooms are not up to date. I've had private's at 7AM in the morning on Saturday and the place is cleaned from top to bottom (bathrooms included). I can't explain some of the reviews and I'm certain in any establishment there are plus and negatives but nothing will be perfect. For price, experience, and talent, I think US Gym fulfills the criteria for really ensuring the success of the child. I also like that the bulk of their coaches are trained in gymnastics and/or have experience working with children in some capacity. One last thing I'd like to mention: keep in mind a good bit of their coaches are from other countries. From a cultural perspective, people in other countries tend to be more direct concerning children then others, I've heard some of the coaches be a little more direct than others, I'm the kind of parent that prefers the honesty. As long as you don't yell at or berate my child, I'm perfectly comfortable with you telling my child to work harder. If it bothers you - stay and watch the class. I have never dropped my child off and left, if you show you care about your children, most likely, coaches will see this and be cautious with your children. If your child wants to compete this is a great gym, they hold several titles and rank high in their division, if you want the coaches to sell you a dream and play favorites, take them to somewhere else. Simple. Regarding pricing: any gymnastics studio you go to will charge annual fees, there are also different prices per month depending on the number of days in the month. US Gym is definitely on the higher end in terms of pricing, however, the facility is huge. What I spend at US Gym I've spent at other USAG/USAIGC gym holding titles - the price varies depending on coaches, location, offerings, etc. the pricing is posted outside for the world to see so it's not like their being shady, you either can pay or you choose to go somewhere else, it's no sense in trying to negotiate prices at an establishment when the price is set. It's different when your child is on a team and your investing thousands in this sport, people will be more flexible, but when you first walk in for classes, having the expectation that folks will scale their fees for you is insane. Sounds like a lot of privileged parents to me! The ONE complaint I have - I don't understand why they charge a building fee for private's, this is something I've never had to pay for in the past. My 4 year old just started his classes here and we enjoyed the facilities a lot. The gym has world class amenities and it never gets boring for a little one who may not be so excited about routine yet. We read all of the reviews and were cautious to sign the contract yet, so we are paying month to month and the value is still great. The reason why I wanted to write this review is because of what I saw today. There was a little girl who did not feel good and threw up all over the place. The staff was very understanding and cleaned the carpet after her, then out of nowhere I see the guy who comes in with the vacuum cleaner and starts washing the carpet. Not a big deal right? Well, it turns out that it is the owner of the gym, the world renowned gymnast, Joao Luiz Ribeiro, not bossing his employees around, but vacuum cleaning it himself. It took me a while to even figure out who the guy was. I am really grateful that I was able to observe it and make the connection because it demonstrates the spirit of the school. They focus on self-discipline, respect and responsibility on every level. Anyways, we are enrolling for sure. The staff is great so we are ready to commit. read more

I've had two of my children registered at this gym and I've never seen such atrocious customer service. Upon returning to classes post Covid, they refused to refund our money or accommodate our children in any civil manner. They want to throw things at you which you can't use and just take our money without any serious accommodations. After asking to speak to a manager, the receptionist has been continuously hanging up the phone and after several attempts to call back, they keep sending our calls to Voicemail. After sending them an email expressing our concerns, they sent back an absolutely obnoxiously rude email response. I also have thrown birthday parties here for both my children and the service we got was despicable. When asked for help, we were told it's not part of the service package although we paid a lot of money for two children. The only reason I have let the slide for so long is because my hi children are a few did like nicely for Sellitti and a few nice to spacious facility, but such rude behavior cannot be further tolerated. read more

We signed our 5 year old son up in September after US gym was recommended to us by one of our friends. He absolutely loves his classes, camp, events and open gym. They are really teaching the kids in a wonderful way, making it fun and keeping them safe especially his coach, Gerald, is nothing short of amazing! He has a great way of encouraging and motivating the kids. All the staff has been great, the facility is clean and the bathrooms are well maintained. I'm not a happy client of US GYM Center. My daughter had been there for whole year. During that time I had to move her from one coach to another. Some coaches are not welcoming and they are racists. I had times when a coach comes to pick up kids for a class, but totally ignores my daughter. During their activities I often saw, that some kids out of coaches supervision. It was one bad incident, when a small girl run away from the coach, who didn't even notice that. Unfortunately, girl's mom didn't see it either. So, after about 10 minutes, one of the fathers brought the kid from the mans restroom, saying that the girl was stuck there. Of course, the girl had a stress and she was historically crying. On top of that, the gym has a strong not pleasant odor, something like a dirty socks. During summer time their AC is not working properly and it's no fresh air. One time my mom came to the GYM to see how my daughter is doing. Unfortunately, she was straggling to breeze when the air is full of dust and bad smell. The cherry on the cake was a loss of my money, during refund back process. I paid for August in the middle of July. In a couple of days I changed my mind and request of refund. A receptionist said that it's no problem, I just have to wait around 2 month, to complete the refund process. After receiving my check, I realized that they took $50 from the full amount what I paid them. When I asked the manager why is no one reminded me that I would lose $ 50 if I ask for refund, he replied that I should read the contract before signing it. Oh yea, a working busy mom should carry the USA GYM contract everywhere during whole year and remember each and every word. Why don't you spend one minute and remind the client who brought you money throughout the year that she will lose half of her hard-earned money if she asks for a refund ?! I have been extremely disappointed in the management of this gym. My daughter has been on the team for two years and without any notice, warning or communication her coaches have been let go. I have no idea why and I can not believe the complete lack of communication to the parents and kids who really like the coaches and don't know why they are no longer with the gym Very disheartening. A few months ago I switched my daughter to us gymnastics from a different gymnastics facility and she loves it!!!. The staff is friendly and attentive to each student. Although it is a bit more pricey than the previous gymnastics school, they do offer discounts if you pay in advance. The open gym classes held on the weekends are great to practice one on one with a coach.I am glad we made the switch. read more

I recently enrolled my 7 year old daughter into classes at the US gym of leonia and i must say this is a fantastic establishment. My daughter has been bugging me for weeks to try out a gymnastics program so i started looking for a local gym that was reasonably priced when i stumbled upon US gym. From the moment I walked in I was blown away by there state of the art facility, there gym was huge and even had a mini gym for some of the younger children attending!! From the office staff to the coaches everyone is very polite and seems to have a real passion for gymnastics which is what I really loved. The prices were very reasonable and cheaper then some of the other local gyms I checked out. I set up a trial class and my daughter loved it so we registered for classes right after. read more

Awful facility!! After years at Paragon we decided to switch to here which was a huge mistake! My 5 yr old daughter took a trial class with a female instructor & liked it so we signed up with a group of friends but stupidly paid Sept-Jan. Right from week one there were issues. They mixed up our group so then we all had to call in and complain. We were given a male instructor when at the trial classes there were only female ones (which the girls much more preferred) A few weeks in we had a sub instructor who had to bring his private 8 yr old client with him while covering our 5 yr old group & he geared the entire class to this older advanced child. Needless to say my daughter wanted out after 3 weeks. I spoke to an employee there who tried to encourage me to have my daughter give it one more try with her regular instructor. Within a few days I got the sense returning wasn't going to change her mind so I called & asked to remove my child from the program. The employee told me no problem they would refund me Oct-Jan as long as she doesn't come to any classes in Oct. Then a few days later called to inform me I needed to put it in writing as just a formality so I sent them an e-mail on Oct 1st. 8 weeks passed until I received a refund check (which they charged $30 to write for me) and it only included money for Nov-Jan. They claim since I requested it in writing on Oct 1st that month had already started so no refund for it. This is absurd bc my daughter had not stepped foot in their gym since Sept 18th. Her Oct class wouldn't have even been until Oct 2nd & if they weren't planning on refunding me for Oct shouldn't they have informed me of this so my daughter could have gone for the month I was still being charged. I've been back & forth with the manager there about this. Huge scam artists with very poor business skills. Better off at Paragon!! read more

If I could give this gym 0 stars or negative stars, I would. They are SO disorganized. I am amazed that anyone leaves his/her child here for camp-- the "coaches" do not even WATCH the children. One day, they were actually playing IN THE PARKING LOT. Due to convenience of Leonia, my child took one year of "classes". Basically, the classes are just 9 kids running around wildly while the "coach" leads them around. They learn no technique, no form, no flexibility. The sit on the mats and "stretch", but that is not improving flexibility. They have NO INSTRUCTION. I have some pretty terrible videos. US Gym- you should not allow phones in your gym! People could record your coaches totally ignoring their students. After one year, my child had learned nothing and one of the "head coaches" said, "Yeah, the regular classes are just fun. They are either born with flexibility or they are not." After speaking with coaches at two other gyms (Paragon and ENA GYM), I know this is not true. This is truly a terrible place, a money-making "Fun house". Stay FAR AWAY unless you are just looking for glorified babysitting. Check out Paragon or ENA Gym if you are serious about your child learning good technique and becoming a strong athlete. I feel so bad that I wasted so much time with this group of idiots. read more
