I rented an aluminum road bike from Unlimited Biking, and it was a miserable experience that left me stranded with a broken bike in the middle of nowhere. The bike was poorly maintained and generally unpleasant to ride. But things got much worse then the cheap plastic pedal fell off half way through my ride. I couldn't screw it back on as the screw threads were completely stripped. I was able to get to a nearby bike shop, and they confirmed the bike couldn't be easily repaired and would need an entirely new crank arm. I called Unlimited Bikes, and they offered to bring me a new bike. According to the agent, they had a truck in the area, and it would take them about 30 minutes to get to me to deliver another bike. After 40 minutes I called back to get an update. The truck was about 45 minutes away. What blackhole time warp caused the truck to get 15 minutes farther over 40 minutes is a mystery. I waited another 30 minutes and called to check on the status. The truck was still 45 minutes away. At this point, I got frustrated. They said they could expedite a bike over, but there was traffic and it would take 30 minutes. I waited another 15 minutes and called to check in again. There was no truck available and no spare bikes. WTF. They suggested I get an UberXL and take an hour ride back into Manhattan. They refused to cover that cost. Needless to say, very unhappy that they wasted my entire afternoon and left me stranded. And get this - they refused to refund the cost of the bike rental!!! After fighting aggressively over the course of a week (and contesting the charge on my credit card), I finally got a refund. But wow. I highly recommend avoiding Unlimited Biking at all costs. It's not just about getting a bad bike, you could find yourself dangerously stranded or worse, injured on your ride. read more

DO NOT buy Go City passes and expect them to work properly for major London attractions like Unlimited Biking. Total scam. The reservation codes would not work for bike attractions, and even after calling customer service, they still could not resolve the issue. I spoke with Elle in customer service, and they were unable to book anything for us either. We wasted a significant amount of time trying to make reservations during our trip planning. This location was conveniently located near the Brooklyn Bridge. It was easy to take Citibikes there from our hotel in Times Square. We wanted to explore Brooklyn via Brooklyn Bridge. We rented a couple of terrific Cannondale ebikes. The price was comparable to other rental places. The staff were courteous and helpful. We had a blast biking around Prospect Park, out to Coney Island, and back across the Manhattan Bridge. We were gone about four and 1/2 hours. It would have been great if they were open a little later when daylight hours are longer. But we had a great time with the bikes! read more

Rented a monthly bike. First bike was too big, a Medium. Went back to swap it out and was treated respectfully. David and Jason hooked me up with the correct size Small bike. Their usual Small was too small and they found an older model in Small that was a bit bigger that fit me a lot better. They also swapped out my SPD pedals quickly and efficiently. These guys go through a lot of bikes daily. It always seems busy with lots of people, so be patient, they'll take good care of you. I rented a bike last September ('21) and again in June ('22) and will rent again next time I'm in town. read more

Please be very careful when booking here (my advice "DONT"). Bikes are badly maintained and rusty, break down and they get you to pay for repairs. You're also a cycling advertisement for their business as they put advertising panels on the sides and service from staff is non existent. Rented 4 electric bikes for the day with Unlimited Biking. The idea was to spend a relaxing day (hence the electric bikes) cycling around Manhattan and Brooklyn. Upon arrival we were immediately told that unless we paid for additional insurance we would be liable for thousands in case of theft, breakdown, damage, etc. This already made me suspicious. Furthermore the service at the pick up point was dreadful and we waited for 30 minutes just to get our bikes. When we did get them we noticed they were not fully charged but the manager assured us that it would last the whole day. We set off over the Brooklyn Bridge and the first hour went quite well until suddenly I noticed I had a flat rear tyre. We were far away in Brooklyn and I managed to find a bike shop around the corner (pure luck) who actually fixed the bike within 30 minutes. Of course I had to pay for the repair. We continued on.... About 10 minutes after setting off again towards our lunch destination which we booked months ahead of time the bike's battery died without warning. I called their "service" number and the woman told me to "Punch the screen" of the bike (these were her literal words) to see if it would work again. I decided to go back to Unlimited Biking and get the bike replaced leaving my family to go for lunch by themselves. After cycling back over the Brooklyn Bridge (hot, sweaty) I asked for a replacement bike which they assured me (again) would last the rest of the day. Within 2 hours the bike had died again, we were now near the Central Park location so we just left the bikes there. All in all a really bad experience. Bikes are bad quality, badly maintained, service is despicable and insurance is a total scam. I really felt ripped-off and the only reason I managed to get the money I had paid for the flat tyre back from them is because I had begrudgingly taken the additional insurance. Basically I had to pay for them to maintain their bikes! If you want a relaxing experience do NOT book here. read more

First, do not advertise that a tour is 3 hours and it's 1.5 at best. There is absolutely no structure and direction given and this isn't my first bike tour. We started late, which I would be ok with if it were due to instructions and information given but it wasn't..here's a bike, here's a helmet MAKE IT WORK WTH. So tour begins, soon after your at the bridge soon after THAT (top of bridge)....5 of 16 stop to wait for the guide to find the rest SERIOUSLY dude shouldn't you have a conversation with the group stating Hey hey we're going up hill so if you need extra time or help I'm here ‍ 15-20 minutes later rest of group arrives and we can ride, yeah not so much It's just a very unorganized tour with an uninformed guide who gets in arguments with police officers and informs riders 4 red lights later that you can get a ticket for running a red light (ummm we're following you) Do yourself a favor, bike through Brooklyn but just do it on your own read more

Bad experience here. One of our bikes had a part detach only 15 minutes after starting. Almost resulted in the rider crashing on the Brooklyn bridge. They made us carry the bike all the way back to the shop and then wanted to charge over $100 to repair it. Poor start to our trip. read more

I paid full price and expected that I would get a bike that works. I had 3 people check my bike before departing and I assumed that the bike would be checked or tuned up from last user. Luckily they successfully scared me into buying insurance so the screwed up gears I had to work with would be covered. Apparently I would of been responsible for the bike if it's gears screwed up without insurance. They blamed me for not checking my gears before leaving in the busy newyork streets. Instead of refund they offered credit for a future experience knowing I am a tourist and not returning. The manager didn't acknowledge this or the fact that I did not have time to wait to have a tech come and find me to repair my bike or swap it out on the phone (if there was a tech available). I'm sorry this is unacceptable , I was limited for time and should off been offered a bike that works or a full refund should of been issued. My two babies in a bike trailer can't wait in trailer for a tech to find me and swap my bike in this summer heat IF a tech is available. I should of been given a bike that works. Beware of this company. They should be a shamed of themselves trying to defend there side in this experience I had and the way they think they resolved it for someone who is visiting and leaving the city is horrible. If respect , customer service and quality is what your looking for go somewhere else. They will charge you for a flat tire if you don't take their rental insurance they scare you with and I quote that. read more
