Absolute scam!!! I'm not even sure how I initially got set up with this company, but never again. I thought I was calling Mayflower but somehow got routed through to this company. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was very pleasant and gave me a reasonable quote, and even offered to pack my house for me. Unfortunately that is where the good ends. Upon arriving at my house the day of my move, the moving company informed me that my move would cost an ADDITIONAL $8,000 from what I had already paid due to "the size of my move". I was initially quoted for about 600 cubic feet, which was then more than doubled to 1400 cubic feet upon pickup. Not having any other options, I was forced to pay because they already had my items on their truck. I found it really puzzling to believe that my move would take up that much space since the place I was moving out of was a 700 square foot condo. I was then told that I would have 60 days of free storage, but after taking my items the company informed me that it would only be 30 days. I then called the storage company with the details of my drop off and they informed me that they had no record of me or my items which was very concerning. I then called the number on my invoice for US Interstate & Rail who also had no record of me. Finally after calling the number on the website, they were able to direct me to the storage company that had my items to arrange for delivery. My items were then held hostage for delivery until I paid their driver an additional $1,700 for a Uhaul they had to rent because their "80 foot truck" supposedly wouldn't fit in my 100+ foot driveway. I was told by the moving company that along with the packing services I had paid for, it also included unpacking, as well as a $25,000.00 insurance policy per item that they packed, so it just made sense to have them do it all. Upon delivery, my items were delivered in a small uhaul (again confirming my belief that this wasn't the 1400 cubic foot move they tried to tell me it was) and all left in my garage for me to unload, unpack and put together. Upon unpacking I came to find out that a box of my music gear (that this company packed) was now missing. Equipment totaling over $10,000.00 now unaccounted for, as well as multiple items such as my TV, Couch, entertainment center and other music equipment all broken. Along with that, there were numerous items that did not belong to me. Hoping that it was a mix up and that maybe I got someone else's items and they received mine, I tried reaching out to the company numerous times for the following month with zero response. After the 6th inquiry with no response or follow up, I proceeded to move forward with opening a claim for the missing items. After 3 weeks, the claims company reached out to me and informed me that my move did not cover the $25,000.00 per item packed that they told me, but instead only 60 cents per pound, making my reimbursement due $91.00. Had I known that they were lying about their insurance coverages, I would have packed and done the move myself. Not only am I out from being severely overcharged for the move, but now I am out thousands of dollars worth of musical equipment that I have acquired over the years, while this company refuses to take any accountability to try to help me recover/replace my lost and broken items. Scumbags and liars. Dont trust them. I started having concerns about their ethical practice after i paid my initial payment and didnt want to risk all the bad things i had read about them that were starting to happen to me. Unfortunately i was in a fast move situation so i booked my move less than 7 days out and so they used their clause about forfeiture of ur payment if less than 7 day to keep my 1700 dollars even though i cancelled them before they did a thing for me. I tried disputing it with my bank as fraud since well, they are fraudulent as hell, but since they spend all their time on the legalities of their contracts rather than doing the job you hire them to do my bank let it go and i had to take the loss. They will lie to you, they will manipulate you, and they will cheat and extort every penny than can from you and if you ask questions they will all play stupid and change their stories to keep you confused. I actually am thankful i got away from them with a 1700 dollar loss because i have no doubt it would have been worse if i let them touch my property. I seldom write reviews, but this was the worst experience I've ever had with any company. On the day of the move (July 14th), two guys show up in a box truck and tell us our stuff doesn't the space in the truck and demand more money, refusing to load our items. They sat around until Royal Palm rushed us through the moving office. It took over a month to have our stuff delivered, and I'm just happy we have it back. Almost all of the furniture was broken, including a bookcase, desk, tv, and numerous mugs. I'm a writer, but I'm bereft of words to explain how catastrophic this move was. We had to buy new furniture, cutlery, dishes, and chairs because we didn't know if we would get our stuff back. I highly recommend you ONLY choose a company that comes out and does a physical count of your inventory. I do not recommend ANYBODY to use this company. They are currently holding my belongs hostage and keep telling me they are able to hold my belongs for up to 30 days after not explaining to me the delivery process. In the beginning, Jeremy (in Florida) explained to me the process would be a simple pick up and drop off per the dates I needed. They had me pay an additional $3000 on delivery day and required I read and sign 6 different documents before the drivers could begin loading the truck & without an explanation of the documents being signed. Due to the lack of time given to fully understand the documents and ability to have my belongs moved, I was pressured into signed and paying the money. Working with U.S. Interstate and Rail for our move from NY to Colorado has been a terrible experience from beginning to end. The first gentleman we spoke to gave us a quote of $3700 when we told them we had a 10 x 10 storage unit that was entirely full from floor to ceiling. He estimated the cubic footage, price, and confirmed our things would be delivered on 5/14. We were happy, and booked and paid immediately. When they came to pick up our stuff from our unit, they said the original estimate was wrong and it would be 6000 + $1000 for packing supplies even though our things were already packed. We tried talking to management and they claimed zero responsibility for intentionally or unintentionally severely misleading us into our contract and getting an additional $3000 from us. After hours on the phone we said "OK fine just please deliver our things.' Fast forward one month and we still do not have our belongings. They said the delivery window is 5/14-6/14; we have called at least 15x to get an update and no one is able to tell us when our things will be delivered or even what state they are in; they even seem unsure that they will be delivered during our 30 day window, which is a violation of our contract. This whole experience has been utterly draining, this company sucks you in under false pretenses and gaslights you when you confront them. They are making their money through nefarious means and it has been impossible to get a straight answer from them. In summary, these are the ways they have lied to us: 1) They told us our estimate was binding and then upcharged us by $3000 2) They told us a 42% tariff discount was included and then said never mind 3) They told us no additional/hidden charges would occur and then charged $1000 for extra wrapping 4) They told us our stuff would arrive by 5/14, then by 6/14 but have no idea where it is as of 5pm EST on 6/12 Where are our things?! PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. Learn from my mistakes. Job #US4460580 - I literally created this Yelp account to post this because that's how messed up this company is. They are holding our items hostage right now. The contracted delivery window was 7/1-8/14 and they still haven't even budged from "the hub". (writing this on 8/24). When I have called to ask for updates, they keep telling me that delays happen and to deal with it. We have been living out of a suitcase for two months. No kitchen goods, closet items, etc. They charged me more for my items than initially estimated ("binding estimate" means nothing to them) despite the fact that I had 50+ sqft LESS than our estimate. Told me repeatedly that it would be 7-10 days. Got a text from a random "driver" about a week after we got here and she said it would be that week, but nothing. I have already filed a report with the FTC and will continue to find avenues to hold this company responsible. There were TONS of negative Google reviews pouring in before they removed their Google business listing and those reviews all said the same thing (try typing US Interstate and Rail Google Reviews - comical). Just called them and they told me that I need to pay my contract off completely (I've already paid them over $2000, mind you) in order to even receive the address of where my stuff is so I can pick it up myself and drive it the 20 hours out here. I hired them for a move and not only did they not show up on the scheduled day after a large deposit was demanded when I finally was able to speak with a representative I was told it would be the next day between 8 and 12. When they did not show up again I called and was told it would be another day and there would be additional payment needed at that time but would not tell me how much it was. I cancelled the move and asked for a refund. I was told they only do credits on future moves. The customer service representative basically laughed and said good luck with getting a refund. Fraudulent. Unprofessional. 1) Texted me and told me they were going to show up. Did not show up. Did not contact me, either. I had to chase them down eventually. 2) Spent 3 hours estimating the new binding quote. 3) Up charged me even though I actually own fewer items compared to the initial quote. Also had hidden fees in the new contract. 4) Offloading went past midnight. I could not inspect my items one by one before I had to sign a contract stating I got to see everything. 5) Most of my furniture is severely damaged. Even heavy-duty items were damaged. 6) I had multiple items missing. My boxes were left open to collect dust. 7) They charged me an additional fee for using the "elevators". 8) When I called customer service for these issues, the agent was quick to cut me off and said there was nothing he could do. When I told them i already had a quote for $2,500, their price miraculously became $2,364 and they just happened to have a truck going to Ohio. 2. I contracted them a while back for a move from Massachusetts to Colorado. I was told delivery would take a week, and that I would get final quote before scheduled pickup. This is a lie. For the pickup they did not call me the day before, they arrived late, took an 1 to provide "final quote" despite the fact that deposit was already paid; they increased rate by 50% on the day of the move at 7pm which left me no choice but to accept. I paid the incremental, they got my things and then they told me delivery would be between 7/16 and 8/25 -- OVER A MONTH this is not what I was promised. As of now I have no idea when my things will be delivered and worse things worse is that they won't let me know beforehand, just a 24 hs notice (if I have to travel for work I will be screw)- this has been the worst moving experience of my life. read more

All I can say is "DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE" Moving my 94-year-old dad and myself to Colorado from Texas is stressful enough but they assured me everything was going to be as smooth as possible. WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE---These people are a scam! We provided a pretty detailed description of our items and on the day of pick up received a phone call with a new quote that would be more than double the initial quote. We had moved and had family facilitating the move. They claimed the extra boxes we had would take up that much room when in reality our things were never going to fit in the space they allotted us on this "18 wheeler truck". Please keep in mind a lot of furniture items were no longer being moved so the extra boxes should have been able to fit with no problem. We had to leave all our large furniture in order for us to be able to keep to the space and not incur the extra cost. We couldn't cancel because they made it known that we would forfeit our deposit. As if this wasn't bad enough! The day of drop off they call that their "18 wheeler" will not be able to come to a our drop off because it is residential and an additional fee will be needed for a smaller truck to bring our items to our house. This call came in a few hours before they wanted to drop it off. No call when it left their warehouse to let us know that the items were on the way like I was instructed they would do when I called for an update a few days before. They expected the final payment in cash (this we knew already) and now the additional fee would need to be paid in cash as well. When the items arrived we quickly realized there was no way all our items would have fit in the space allotted for us. The people that did the actual moving of the boxes were very polite and professional and quick. The truck arrived with my child's baby gate strapped to the back of it and completely filthy. The person we spoke to initially, Christina, started this horrible experience. She was so nice, persistent and did whatever it took to make this sale and get our deposit. She did not make the it clear that we would have to pay a shuttle fee because our drop off was in a residential area. She did not allot enough space for our items so that the day of we would have no choice but to pay more if we wanted all our things. The lack of communication once our items were picked and with them was also another issue. We didn't hear from them until a few hours before they wanted to drop off our things. Of course not before the twisted our arm for even more money. We are now forced to find a way to get all the large furniture items they left to us. DO NOT USE THEM. Terrible and traumatic ordeal moving with them! Journey below - They will quote you a low price and pressure for same day signup - I signed up. ~30% deposited right away. I asked for treadmill disassembly and assembly, which was included. Now, they call a week before and of course by that time my inventory has changed but on a 300 cubic feet move, I added two items and removed two items of same volume. Price increased? Yup, by ~$500!! (on a ~$1900 quote) and need to pay 40% of the contract amount same day. The day of the move, the guys show up - stairs extra. Then, the shocker! All the inventory for which I had given the dimensions and it was wayyy less than 300 cubic feet, would not fit in 300 cubic feet. So now I gotta pay more, but I was MAD, I find a different solution - I prioritized the items which would go and rest, I would put in my car. And of course, the guys who are working do not know how to dis-assemble the treadmill. A couple of hours before and the delivery guy calls, "You will be assessed a 'Shuttle charge' - tractor trailer cant enter hence need to put in a small truck". Now, I know because they loaded all my stuff on a small truck and they were delivering the next day, there is no way they put it on a tractor trailer and then back on the same truck with same number plates. I said my neighborhood has no issues, after a 5 min hold they are like fine no charge for this. On delivery, of course they scratch walls on delivery. I paid in cash, since there is a '5% convenience fees' on a credit card and I ask the driver a receipt. He is like the office will send the receipt. Of course, the office does not send one. So now, I apply for reimbursement from my firm and they are like what is the proof that you paid the money. In addition, I was charged an additional 5% for paying by credit card. In addition, they took more than a quarter of the amount from me when accepting the cargo. I wish I would have seen all of these reviews BEFORE I gave them my business. I moved across country, west to east. Steve called, texted and emailed me almost everyday until I booked. He promised me that he'd shop my stuff from Cali to store in Ohio until I secured an apt in my area then they'll ship it to me. I called today and my stuff is still in Cali. Mind you, it should have been delivered 9/1. They tell me they have until 10/16 to deliver my belongings and on top of that they won't give me the location of my stuff until I paid the balance. This is the Result of Hiring this Company. I booked a move with US Interstate & Rail, scheduled for August 2023. After reviewing and itemizing my belongings with Sales Team, they gave me an estimate. Of which I paid half at that time , through email with the guidance of one of your employees by phone . I was not given time to read the contract as it was very fast electronic signature, sign, sign initial, initial, etc. submit! I was then emailed a Printer Friendly "Understanding of your Estimate". There are many discrepancies and flat out lies in this document. As follows: 1. Professional Door to Door Service was not provided by this company, they call people who are not professional through a central dispatch system. Further, the people they send out are not movers at all! They are unskilled laborers, who are very rude, throw your items around in a careless manor and walk off the job before they are finished while laughing at the customer. 2. Expert advice and guidance was not provided, there was only one follow up email made by the scheduling department to revise the estimate. The amount of the job was raised and an additional deposit was collected in the same manner as before, via email with someone coaching me and no time to read what I was signing. At this juncture, I had added boxes and patio furniture. It wasn't until after I signed and was sent the new Biding Moving Estimate . I proceeded in good faith, as I still believed that they were an honest company and would send a regular moving truck, with US Interstate and Rail on the side. They came with a Enterprise Rental Truck and the driver had his car, NO MOVING VAN! 3. I did not receive an itemized inventory at the pick up 4. The driver at the pickup REFUSED to pick up all of my belongings. 5. I was offered 6 wardrobe boxes and 25 extra boxes, FREE at the time of booking, this was a lie, they refused to offer packaging! 6. I had 2 TV's, the driver refused to take the small TV. 7. Page 2 Item 4 of your contract and Item 5 From FMCSA Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration states "Once your mover loads your shipment, your mover's failure to execute a new binding estimate or to agree with you to treat the original estimate as a non-binding estimate signifies it has reaffirmed the original binding estimate. Your mover may not collect more than the amount of the original binding estimate" US Interstate & Rail breached their own Contract and are in Violation of Federal Regulations. The driver was on the phone with someone, he told me that the bill was going to be DOUBLE and that I could no longer get my 2 deposits refunded. He told me that If I didn't pay, he would not take our belongings. I am a senior and my husband is a disabled senior, we were contractually obligated to move and leave our home. We were being situationally forced to pay double! The driver promised to take ALL OF OUR BELONGINGS if we signed, I said "OK", so he began rapidly and with no care, grabbing our things and put them on the truck. I HAD NOT RECEVIED THE REVISED ESTIMATE AT THAT POINT !! The operator sent an email and called several hours into the move, most of the items were loaded. The driver told me not tell the operator collecting the money they were loading!! IN MY VIEW WE WERE UNDER EXTREME DURESS and COERCION! THERE WAS NO MUTUAL ASSENT AND IT FELT LIKE ELDER ABUSE! ; to sign a contract I could not even see from my phone to keep my belongings that they already had on the truck! Then things got even worse. After the revised bid arrived several hours later, The driver started to refuse to load certain items!! AFTER PROMISING TO LOAD EVERYTHING, HE SAID IT WOULD ALL FIT ON THE TRUCK, HE LIED!! He refused to take items on the original bid,. He refused to take many of the boxes, he refused to take the garage shelves. He then said "I am not going to take this 4 man boxed tent, can I, have it?" He just grabbed the tent and put it in his car, he stole it!! He was refusing to take my coats that were in the coat closet, I begged him, I need the coats! He told me "If you give me $100.00 cash, I will take the coats". EXTORTION! The workers at the drop off were just as bad, walking off the job and my husband was unloading the truck! There have been damaged and broken items in every box, many things are missing, it feels like we have been through a natural disaster! MY HUSBAND AND I ARE GRIEVING THE LOSS OF IRREPLACEABLE FAMILY PHOTOS AND COLLECTABLES SPANNING OUR LIFETIME!! I'll post it everywhere so people use other services and do not loose their mind while waiting forever for their stuff Supper irresponsible people who either don't pick up a phone, or don't have estimate time, or doesn't have a simple answer. It takes 30 days instead of 6-7 promised days No one gives you fixed time of pick up until last minute. We couldn't booked elevator for moving on time because they didn't know when they are going to pick our stuff. The move was scheduled on August 2nd at 9am from NJ to California. The movers got here at noon, took pictures of everything, went out to talk to someone on the phone for 30 minutes and then got back to load our stuff. When they finished, they asked a question when would we need our stuff to be delivered. We said we understand it's a long trip, but 6-7 days is ok. Today is August 25th. We still sleeping on air mattress in LA and dispatcher doesn't know when we are getting our stuff. To be more specific, we were told that our stuff spent 2 weeks in NJ at some warehouse instead of being on the road. We had to spend so much money on extra stuff here when we could use our own that was supposed to be here. Fortunately for us, my boyfriend's company paid for the move. They chose this company. I've got to read the reviews on this company after it was booked. Omg. I don't even want to begin to imagine how our TV, coffee machine or scooter are going to look like after being dropped several times across the country from truck to truck. Worst service ever. Nice team but didn't not follow my directions, mostly as they could not understand me. They were late to everything and packed wrong stuff and left good stuff. Could barely get it in my car and some was left anyway. Very sad. Left a mess. No cleanup. Household is on dock in Myrtle Beach. Need our stuff now! Awful experience! Discussed plan with consultant numerous times before the move to ensure I would have enough space and delivery date would be established. Movers showed up 6+ hours late, were intoxicated (marijuana) and refused to touch anything until a video was sent to dispatch. Dispatch then called and insisted I pay an extra $1000 for more space and sent over contract for review. In contract, delivery window spanned 2 months despite discussing need for specific day - and you guessed it, they offered a specific day for an extra $1500. When revised contract was sent over, window remained the same but the cost was increased. US Interstate and Rail LLC is the worse moving company! They stole my property and are a total fraud! The add hidden charges to the paperwork after you sign them. Then, when they deliver, after 3 months, they upcharge and take your property if you don't pay in cash. Worst ever! Do NOT use them. Switch and bait tactics. Tell you one price, don't show up, wait until day before move date and jack the price up on you so that you're desperate and don't have time to find anyone else. Took MONTHS to deliver items with very little info as to where belongings were. Always an excuse and once items finally arrived some items were missing or damaged. All containers brutally beat up, smashed, and opened. Other people's items just piled up in the truck any kind of way with no organization or regard for preventing damage. They scammed us out of 3300$. They gave us an estimate and the day of the estimate went from 7000 to a 13000 bid. We were unable to afford the 100% price increase at which point they told us our deposit would be forfeited. We never received a service from them and they refuse to return the deposit. Ive put a complaint on BBB and am filing charges against them for defrauded us out of money. They will literally laugh at a pregnant lady, they will try to strong arm you out of fear of losing your deposit. They will give you an estimate and the day of they will upcharge you a minimum of 50+% from estimate. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY read more

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER USE US INTERSTATE. Moving from Midwest to Florida, everything in the first conversations turned out to be lies. I had a small load. I received a quote and I paid 50% down. I later called them and stated that I had a couple of additional items and was told that was no problem as the truck was empty returning to Florida, Another lie. When the movers arrived at my home in Midwest, the truck was 3/4 full and a few of my items would not fit. I was told another truck would arrive and they would consolidate my small shipment that did not fit and the total shipment would load in another truck for delivery to Florida. Movers started loading and I was on the phone for two hours working out the details. once they had my goods, they increased the price by 230%, yes 230%. I had no way to unload onto a different carrier. I paid the additional $thousands thinking I could recover upon delivery. I was told delivery would be with five days and it is now 15 days and we cannot find the furniture. I am following up on civil charges and hope that fraud, criminal charges can be filed. read more

Do not hire this company. I was told USIR handled all moves directly and that they were not a broker. Spoiler alert: They are a broker! Our belongings were passed from between 3 different moving companies. The move took 2 months. Calling USIR for updates was useless -- long holds, wrong information, empty promises that someone would call us back. After the move was finally completed, I called to provide my feedback on the lying sales rep, the poor communication, the length of time of the movers and try to get to a resolution. They simply told me they don't issue refunds in any case and that I should reach out to the carrier (i.e. the moving company *they* hired out my move to). After waiting since October 2nd for our stuff, after being lied to about the week delivery date... we finally got our stuff Dec. 18th, 23. They did not deliver our computer desks, or our very expensive bicycles and a few other boxes of our stuff. Their customer service dept is an absolute waste seeing how they cannot help you AT all and there is NO point to them. They cannot give you updates, and for whatever reason cannot contact the dispatcher?? So all theyre good for is to repeat the same old crap "we'll let you know". We even asked to go pick up our stuff at the warehouse cause we were tired of waiting on them, and these idiots told us theres no one working at the warehouse???? So now we have stuff that was stolen for all we know. Fuck this company and anyone who works for them. This has been an absolute nightmare that I cannot wake up from. read more

Do not trust these liars or their promises (and read the fine print- "Bill of Lading"), friends! Jordan was a great salesman and seemed like a genuinely nice guy; as was Mike with Quality Assurance. I only went with this company because they GUARANTEED me that pick-up would be May 17th and delivery drop-off would be May 21st. It is June 15th and I still don't have my belongings. Worst part is- they still don't know when my things will arrive and the excuse is that they cannot find a driver! I have explained that my children's beds and all of their clothes and all of our belongings are on that shipment, but it does not matter to them. I have had several ladies now tell me that the fine print reads that they have up to 30 "business days" to drop off my things. Complete BS. Do NOT go with this company. They are amazing at getting their payments on time (1st three up front, and then the remaining balance at drop off), but they are horrible at actually following through on their promises.
