Beware of US Kuo Shu Academy: A Warning to Potential Customers I strongly advise anyone considering enrolling at US Kuo Shu Academy to reconsider. My experience has been a nightmare of deceptive practices, unresponsive staff, and disregard for customer rights. In April 2024, I decided to cancel my membership. Despite my clear and repeated requests, the academy continues to charge my credit cards without authorization. On April 4th, 2024, I informed them of my intent to cancel, but was met with manipulative attempts to keep me enrolled. I sent a certified cancellation letter, which was returned as undelivered because no one was available at their location--a highly suspicious situation. On April 22nd, 2024, I personally delivered another cancellation notice, signed by their front desk employee. Despite this, they have continued to charge my credit cards every month, including August 2024. This persistent unauthorized billing has led to a lengthy, time-consuming battle with my credit card companies to reverse these charges. My numerous attempts to contact the academy have been ignored or met with further manipulation. US Kuo Shu Academy has shown no respect for my cancellation and continues what I believe to be fraudulent billing practices. I am considering legal action and issue this public warning. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay away from US Kuo Shu Academy. Their business practices are deeply concerning, and their lack of customer service is appalling. Protect yourself and seek a more reputable establishment for your martial arts training. read more

I have been attending USKSA for almost three years now and I couldn't have imagined how being a student at USKSA would impact my life. I had been looking to get back into martial arts after a many year hiatus and wanted to learn a style that would be most beneficial to me as a "Seasoned" adult. I wanted to learn a style where I could relieve stress, increase fitness and learn self defense as well as self discipline. My research kept leading me to Tai Chi. After researching Tai Chi schools in my area I visited USKSA. From the moment that I walked into the studio and was greeted by a senior instructor with enthusiasm and respect I was impressed. I joined the school after an introductory lesson and began my journey as a Tai Chi practitioner. When I joined the school little did I know that I had just joined a school that was founded by none other than a World Renowned disciple of Tien Shan Pai - Grandmaster Huang, Chien-Liang. The direct benefits of learning under Grandmaster Huang, Master Michael Huang, Master John Green and the many other wonderful instructors at USKSA is priceless. My journey in Tai Chi has progressed in ways that I never imagined before coming to USKSA. I have achieved my original goals and beyond. My health has improved. My stress levels have decreased. I am learning self defense and discipline. I've even competed in and won gold medals in international competitions, which was not even on my radar. So if you are looking for a school to learn Tai Chi or Kung Fu I highly recommend that you try the US Kuo Academy. read more

What an incredible place to learn Tien Shan Pai Martial Arts. The instructors and fellow students are incredibly welcoming. Instructors are remarkably dedicated and coach students at a pace that is most appropriate for the individual. All the instructors have been at the school for many years, often multiple decades, and were once new students themselves starting this incredible journey. I have been a student at the school for more than a decade. I had to take a long sabbatical of more than five years. My core study is Tai Chi and thanks to the extraordinary Tien Shan Pai instructors I have been able to pick up close to where I left off in the year since my return to studies. The school offers many different Martial Arts disciplines and I have had the opportunity to learn Xing Yi, Meditation and Kung Fu in addition to Tai Chi. I look forward to continuing to learn from the wide variety of Tien Shan Pai disciplines offered at the school. If a student is willing to dedicate oneself to their Martial Arts studies, the US Kuo Shu Academy provides a truly special platform to learn Tien Shan Pai Martial Arts while also cultivating many life skills that can lead to a life of much greater fulfillment. This place used to be good, but the owner became MONEY HUNGRY and REALLY DISRESPECTFUL! We have been with this school for a few years and were happy, but unfortunately the owner became money hungry, disrespectful to elders and development a major attitude in the past 2 years! He is not honorable, they don't practice what they preach/teach to the children. No communication, only when it's time to renew is when the owner is available and interested in speaking with you. Its sad to see a company/owner having an attitude because parents have questions about how things are handled for $300+ a month! Because of Covid things are different now and the way you teach anyone is different now, if you don't go along with what they want you to do they will be rude to you instantly. They tried to go behind my back and tried swindling money from my elderly mother because they know she will do anything for her grandchild! DISGUSTING!!! You can't find time to speak to the parents, you don't return calls! You teach honor and respect , BUT YOU DON'T PRACTICE WHAT YOU TEACH! The owner should really be ashamed of himself! Go somewhere else, support another business that appreciates every penny you pay them especially during these difficult times for everyone! read more

I've been training here for over 8 years and it's just amazing the depth of knowledge the school has for external and internal martial arts. This is THE place to go if you are looking to learn traditional Chinese martial arts. They teach Kung fu (external) and Tai Ji Quan or Tai Chi (internal) and other internal styles like Xing Yi and Ba Gua once you get to advanced levels. We also work with weapons -- straight sword, broad sword, long staff, spear, short staff, double rings, etc. You can really get the complete teachings here. You can also learn self-defense, sparring (Kung Fu) and push hands (Tai Ji). They have students of all ages, from kids as young as 4, I have seen (they are in a different class), and adults ages 70 and up. The Grandmaster also teaches special seminars, which is really amazing, as you get an opportunity to learn directly from him. I don't know of many other places where you can do that. Also, their students are national and world champions! When you go to tournaments, you can really see the difference with our students and others. (I place every year, too!) Best of all is the camaraderie among students and teachers. I have made some lifelong friends for sure! read more

I have been attending this kung fu school regularly for many years and I couldn't be happier with my decision! The instructors are all highly skilled and knowledgeable, and they do a great job of breaking down the techniques so that they are easy to understand and practice. The classes are always challenging and fun, and I have significantly improved my strength and flexibility due to attending classes regularly. The school also has a great community feel, and I have made great friends among my fellow students. One thing that sets this school apart from others is the emphasis on traditional kung fu values such as discipline, respect, and self-control. These values are incorporated into every class, and it's clear that instructors genuinely care about the personal development of their students. I have been a student at the school for over 13 years. I started in the Tai Chi program because I wanted something that is good for my health both physically and mentally and that I can do for many years to come. The school totally exceeded my expectations. The instructors are very friendly and committed to helping all students develop to their fullest potential. I even joined the Kung Fu program 2 years ago to learn more self defense and improve my physical fitness further. The best Tai Chi program in the country. I've been attending U.S. Kuo Shu Academy for over 19 years. I've looked around all over have not found any better Tai Chi program anywhere. You get to learn Yang Style Tai Chi, straight sword form, broad sword form, and Chen Pan Ling form. Also, we learn Qi Gong and meditation which is amazing.
