So I live in the East Norwich district but I usually go to Oyster Bay Post office. One day I didn't have time to go to OB post office so I went to East Norwich. I had to mail a package. I didn't have any tape at home so I figure I will just wait till I get to the post office. I waited on line forever not to mention it wasn't even that many people in there it's like he just didn't want to help me finally it was my turn. Everything was an issue with this guy. First I ask for tape, he stated we don't have tape. ok I said to myself this is a post office how do you NOT have tape. so I say can I buy some tape he goes we don't have tape. Oooook then, can I purchase a book of stamps. He states we don't have any. Next I asked, Can I use your scissors please, he states I don't have any. So at that point I'm just thinking this is not so much a customer service issue it's a race issue now. So I said what am I suppose to do and he states I don't know. So I left because I knew my presence wasn't welcome there. On the other hand my mail man Matt is awesome. I couldn't have been blessed with a better mail man then him. Even when people mess up my address he knows that's it my mail. When my name is spelled incorrect with a incorrect address he knows it belongs to me. Matt has been serving me way other 10 years and has never let me down. When I do get someone else's mail I automatically know that Matt is on vacation cause Matt will never make that mistake. If you are nice to them, they are nice to you. I don't think I was always nice to them so I don't know when I decided to just not be such an ass but it has worked in my favor many, many times over. When I sent out my first wave of wedding invitations I asked Rosa (Who is usually at the last station at the far right) if she could hand cancel my invites because I didn't want them to get eaten by the machine and she did it! Pete (who got transferred to Miller Place) also helped me out with the invite situation. They've looked in the back for empty boxes for me to ship things and always go above and beyond to help me. This PO use to have one of those automated machines but it's gone now which sucks. I have to head over to Smithtown on 111 for that. It's a small PO but if you're just sending things out and picking up it works just fine!

I especially love Josh who would always take an interest in the welfare of my Mom, with tender words of compassion as she was sickly and subsequently passed away. Anyway, I sent her in by herself and told her to ask for assistance if needed. Well...the clerk was rude and bullying. He dressed her down in front of the other customers. People like this don't realize the harm they do to when they lash out at people with special needs. He should be stuffed into a back office and not be allowed to deal with the general public.
