Went on 1/5/2026 around 4:15-4:30pm. The Red head female clerk is super rude and has horrible customer service! Not only was she rude to me and other customers, she was rude and talked down to her co-worker, the Indian female clerk (who was extremely nice and helpful). There are red flags that need to be addressed about the Atwater mail carriers. My carrier gave my package to the wrong address. Not everyone is honest and the people that got my package was not honest to give it back. I watch my carrier throw packages across yards like it's nothing. I get other people mail but I'm honest to hand deliver it myself. Atwater post office needs higher up to see what's going on. I'm Shure the pay is good plus benefits. This USPS is located along a strip mall on the NW corner or the Main Street in "Old Downtown Atwater". This location isn't always the cleanest, but the service when dealing with the workers has always been quick and seamless. I love that they have a drop off/drive-up mailer on the outside of their building, plus they have a walk-in drop off slot for mail. They are usually stocked up with the Priority boxes/envelopes and forms needed to fill out for mail purposes. I also like their array of birthday and novice cards they readily have available to purchase and the cute decorative boxes if you prefer to send a birthday gift in a nice box instead of the standard mailers. I also appreciate greatly that the male worker always offers folks the best rate(s) even though I may not always know which ways are less expensive when mailing out packages.l and because I've never had a bad experience; I would definitely recommend this place to those who want quick service without all the hoopla. My only critique is that this specific location is small and with Covid-19 hanging around - distance is tried, but not always maintained. (Guess some folks just like the feeling of being sardines) But in reality - you could simply asks those who get too close to kindly give you a little room. ‍*BigShrug* And if all else fails - just ride-in on a broom to keep people from getting too close. This is a very small location and although they have a full service counter, I feel that they are best used mainly as a source for P.O. Box pick ups with their shipping/receiving services better conducted secondary. It gets very annoying that they are always understaffed here and with their lobby being as tiny as it is, a line of 5-6 people can trail out the door especially with social distancing. The employees that do choose to participate in work are not very fast at their job or they just don't care very much because they are being paid well and no one gives a S***. If you can avoid this location, just try somewhere else, which may be hard in this small town. read more

This business is not reliable. A few Fridays ago, I sent a certified mail to Rosemead (my receipt even shows Rosemead as listed address) and was promised it would get there the following Monday, as in the next 3 days. Fast forward to the next week, my certified mail never made it. I tracked it and it was delivered to Livingston instead!!! Went back to the post office and the clerk helping me said they can't do anything about it. So I asked for the manager and was told he was on lunch break and would call me when he gets back. Terrible! Get no mail for three days! And the carriers get the mail in the wrong boxes very often! Not happy!

I have nothing but issues with this post office since moving in to place in April. My grandfather originally had a PO Box located here and when he fell ill and went into the hospital I moved into his home as a care taker. Unfortunately he never came out of the hospital so I went to the post office and asked how to keep the box open but add my name to it so I could receive his medical bills to pay. They told me I needed a new application but in the meantime my husband & I would be added as authorized users. We had no issues from July 2020 - December 2020. Now within the first week of Jan 21' I've had 3 packaged RTS and when I spoke with manager to ask what was going on, she was dismissive, rude and told me to fill out a new application or she couldn't help me. Even though she helped me originally in July renew the PO Box and be added as an authorized user. Absolutely garbage. Per her words "it's a fluke if you've gotten mail to this box" So you're telling me for 6 months it's been a fluke? Absolutely garbage and I will be calling USPS to complain about them read more

I am not sure what is up with this Post Office. Since moving here I have not gotten a single ordered Sample! I belong to half a dozen Free Sample clubs and other places I lived I got four or five samples DAILY. It really helped with my poverty level pension! Soaps, shampoos, pet items, foods used to come from National brands. 7 months here, and I have not received a single one! Something is rotten.... read more

you can't get ahold of this post office on the phone and if you do they will put you on hold for a long long time. certain carriers won't deliver you package saying that they were unable to get up to the door and at our house that is clearly and simply not true. we always have different carriers, some good some not good at all. suggestion 1 is keep the same people on the same route so they know the routines of the people on their route. please stop leaving the residences trying to find their package because they wont answer their phones. this particular day im talking about i was sick and couldn't get out so i was stuck wondering where my package was. read more
