1/26/25 Dropping off snail mail for my pen pals, you heard that right, PEN PALS, who still does this? Even my mom was laughing at me when I was affixing the stamps on them. Believe it or not this took some time, making them (cards & envelopes) & handwriting #worthwhile. This USPS in Bellflower, Ca is one of the few locations that I prefer & has yet to disappoint me. In the past few months, when i sent my letters/cards from the Inland Empire, my intended addressees informed me they did NOT receive them. One of them was just a few blocks over from our home, a birthday card! The staff here are friendly & efficient. The business is well kept, clean, organized. Service is fairly prompt, wait times are reasonable. The parking lot is sizable. You may send packages across the pond or across the ocean/globe, FedEx, Amazon, send certified mail, not a 100% certain if passports are managed here though, etc Of course they also have P. O. boxes. What I like about this location compared to Lakewood is that the drop off boxes are not locked-- so I am able to drop off simple mail at odd or non-business hours. I checked their on line walk in hours on their website and arrived at 12:50pm, was directed to the passport line I even asked for an application as a new passport application. At around 1:46pm they ask me if I have an appointment then proceed to tell me oh we don't do walk ins today only on Saturday. I asked why does the website say you do, then I was explained "oh well that's only if we have time" (there was only 1 person in front of me and 4 employees processing passports) I asked, you guys don't have time right now ? And she said "hmmm no we don't" I 100% understand I did not have an appointment but directing me were to stand and handing me the application just to tell me "oh we don't do that today " after waiting for an hour is what upsets me. Every time I come here line is long & workers seem to chat more than work. That's nice that they try to be friendly and converse like it's a Trader Joe's but it's not it's a post office where time is everything and even seconds matter. And it's like this every single time I come too very friendly people, but maybe just a little too friendly. Is this a passport-only post office or something? It seems like it. I came here to mail a package. Most people were standing in some weird line that was between actual line desk and the cashier windows. Well, those were passport customers. Meanwhile the actual line was just standing in regular line for almost 10 minutes until one of the cashiers decided to pull a customer from regular line. The cashier that helped me was cool. They received a package I was returning to a seller and forgot to scan the package. That made it look like I never returned the item to the seller so I wasn't able to get my refund. I went in person three times to only get an email by the supervisor saying they mishandled my package and it currently isn't traceable. The seller claimed they never received the package and I wasn't able to get my refund as that wasn't sufficient evidence that I returned the item. In all I wasted my time going there in person and lost my refund money because of their mistake. read more

The person working there said she'd be with us when someone else arrived. Well her coworkers did arrive but she kept ignoring us. She would look at us then continue doing whatever she was doing. Also, 90% of the people she helped could have used the automated system! She was so rude when I finally went to the counter to ask how much longer and said she was about to take us. I made an appointment in advance online for my Passport and also pre-filled the pdf application in advance and printed it out. I got to my appointment 30 minutes early, but only had to wait a few people ahead of me who also had passport appointments. By the way, the passport service window is all the way down, the last one to the left, there's no sign there for passport services, it's just the last window, and I'm glad I asked one of the clerks as I entered the door so that I wouldn't have made the mistake of being in the general line which had a dozen or more people waiting for packages. Also, be sure to let the passport service clerk know you're here with your name and appointment time so that she will know in what order to call your name. My daughter went to Bellflower Post Office on Thursday, September 11 and mailed me an overnight package that I was suppose to receive the next day September 12. It's Monday, September 15 and I never received package, I paid $31 for overnight. I found out today that my package never went anywhere. My bank said the contents had been taken and my money ($225) had been taken off my card according to the bank. The only way my money was taken is because the post office have a bunch of thieves taking our belongings. This should be against the law. Watch what you put in the mail. Now I see why this Post Office is rated so low. It is dirty, and the lines are long even with an appointment. Waited for over an hour after my appointment time for a passport. The majority of the staff are not very friendly. Another customer was more helpful to people coming in to the post office then the workers behind the counter. The only bright spot was an employee named Gigi, who came out from the back asked how long people have been waiting for their passport and their appointment times then she took us in order of our appointments. Tried to do a walk in passport appointment. It says online limited walk-ins/first 5 walk-ins. i got there 20 minutes early because i wanted to ensure i would be seen. Waited all that time to be told that they don't take walk ins. Clarice (at least i hope that the correct name provided) was EXTREMELY rude, short, and disrespectful not only with me but with another customer who had been waiting over an hour before opening as well to do a walk-in. If you can avoid going to this location or dealing with Clarice ( she has glasses and curly hair) do so. This location has always been decent besides the little mishaps with service and the general public needing to mind their business otherwise I've met some really nice people here and I've talked to some of the customers and people working here many times and they were down to earth. Post offices have a terrible reputation for customer service, and this office lives up to its reputation. My transaction today was simple and quick, but Tina, the cashier I first talked to, didn't think so. I needed to complete a form to send a certified letter, and because I didn't have it, Tina didn't seem too happy to provide me with the document; she didn't ask if I was familiar with the form or needed help or a pen. Tina just said to fill out the form and come back to the window. This interaction was an example of poor customer service. Tina was not welcoming, not friendly, and not helpful. I went to the counter to fill out the form, and to my surprise, there were no working pens. I had to leave and return to my car to get my pen. With a completed form in hand and my pen, I returned to the line, and this time I was assisted by Emilia. A completely different type of customer service. Emilia was friendly, polite, and helpful. I don't understand why employees continue to work at a place where they are not happy. No matter how long the line, or how crowded, Flower st post office staff is always super helpful, fast, attentive, kind and efficient. A great representation of the small town feel you encounter throughout the city of Bellflower. If you're ever around and see a long line, don't get intimidated! You be in and out in a jiffy! Facility is clean and there are kiosks available for self service needs. They also process Passports, including pictures, but call ahead as this is only done during certain hours on certain days. Parking is available in the one-way-traffic lot just to the west of the building, as well as along Flower St. There is also a ramp available for those who can not maneuver the steps. The only slight "annoyance" is the occasional peddler out front near the palm tree, especially visible during the holidays. read more

Ever since i got a P.O. box here in bellflower, i have been having issues with my mail. First, i was waiting for a packaged and instead of giving it to me, they send it back to sender, so i had to reorder. Second, they handed me 2 wrong packages, i went home and opened the 2 boxes and it was 2 pair of boots - i had never order, so i went back and returned it. Third, im waiting for my mail to be deliver with a tracking number, now they are saying, they scanned it and put it in my p.o. box and i have never received it. That is a lie. I come here almost everyday to drop off packages as a local seller, but i will be driving further to the next city of Paramount now. I walked in this morning before it opened at 8:55 A.M. thats five minutes before they opened and as i was in the lobby waiting the black employee that works there as maintenance was talking very loudly saying he was tired of illegal immigrants coming into the country illegally and taking the jobs and that he was sick and tired of paying of it all. Sorry but I have to share this to people. Their passport service is unbelievable. Went there today 10 minutes before opening for walk-in because it's only for renewal (talked to their staff over the phone few days ago and said walkin is fine). I'm on the third in line, the first two has 9 am appointments. It's already 9:25am when someone politely talked to us that the person in charged will be there by 9:30-9:35 so we keep on waiting. After that, no one ever even assist or communicate to us if there will be someone to be there to attend to us. No apologies too were made. We were already 6-8 persons waiting until 10:30 and I finally quit coz I don't know if the person in charged has the plan to go to work! We'll understand if the staff in there updates and communicates to us of whatever specific time the worker will come but nothing like that. I might understand if he's in an emergency but what makes me frustrated is that no one updates us after 9:30 until 10:30(time I left)! I pity too that there's a baby in there crying and waiting but no one showed up until I left. I'm willing to wait if there's someone to be waited but in this morning's horrible experience, it's like your waiting for uncertainty. Poor customer service! read more
