We had a great experience up until we got to the cashier's desk. First she told me to make my money orders out to UPS instead of USPS . ‍ Then, after I had already filled out my money orders, she said she actually couldn't use one of them. She said I can just take it back to where I bought it and ask for a refund but the fine print on the money order said otherwise. We were going back and forth about it and then I looked it up online and as I was explaining it her, she walked away to ask her peer for clarification. (So rude!) When I looked it up online, it said I could get a refund on an unused money order that has already been filled out but there would be a fee (Western Union). I told the cashier I could refund it but I could not have to pay even more fees due to her administrative error. Horrible service! read more

You generally need an appointment to get a passport here. However, my wife and I called yesterday and found out that you can walk in with a completed application. We filled out our applications online, printed them out and got our passport photos taken. We walked in at 9:45, had our forms checked, and signed our documents. The postal clerk attached our photos. I wrote two checks then paid for postage to next day air the application package. We were done in 20 minutes after waiting for the two people in line before us. Really quick and easy. The clerks were very helpful and friendly. This could not have been easier. read more

As for the other two employees, one lady with greenish eyes and the other older gentlemen with glasses not sure of his name but both were condescending and rude. Whew! That was a rollercoaster, and I absolutely get why we get fed up. Between being misled by the posted hours, being denied service while standing in line early, and getting attitude from Kyra & "Bradi" I even offering to buy lunch, and still got hit with sass and stonewalls. The contradictions--"I'm the only one working" then suddenly "there's two of us"--make it all even more frustrating. I was out there trying to handle your business, not to audition for a reality TV shouting match. And let's be real: if the posted hours say 8:30 AM to 12 PM, they should honor that--or update the site and clarify the process. It's not on me to guess internal staffing issues or lunch breaks. Had a 9am appt. Showed up at 8:55. There are 3 stations to go through. It is very repetitive and an inefficient process. Once we made it to the first 2 stations after 45 minutes. The only person that could process the payment took 20 minutes to go to the bathroom and we all sat there to wait for him to come back. We were the 5th party in line for walk-ins, arriving at 7:30 am. Once let in, 75% of people didn't have their forms filled out. They did not take those who were prepared first. Once we were seen, we were sent to the other side to pay. From that counter, the workers kept leaving to ask for appointments and taking peoples photos. We showed up with photos and printed out forms, and only had to pay, yet waited over an hour just to do so. FBI fingerprint service, when I walked in the line was short and was helped fast. But after when I was waiting I had to wait in the lobby with people who were getting passports which is wrong. Second the employee stated they needed to restart the computer which took about 10 minutes, then when the biometric fingerprint machine was unable to process my prints. Employee gave up after about 3 attempts and stated for myself to go try another location. I was able to notice she was frustrated and wanted to help out the passport customers, she did not have any tips on how to get the prints. Went to this Post Office today with my daughter for a Passport application. Our appointment is at 12noon. The lady who took the application was okay. She helped us filled out some missing information, told us to write a check for $220. The application is for the passport book and passport card for $160.00 and $60 to expedite it. After the application was properly completed and filled out she told us to follow her inside the post office and had my daughter sworn in. Then she told us to pay the man in the cashier. Here is where it got weird. That man (Southern Asian) was helping a lady who works at the IRS office. But instead of completing the business already since there are other people waiting other than us, they went on and on and had an IRS session where the lady is explaining a whole lot of things about taxes. One, that was unprofessional because he is at the work going on and on and on about things that has nothing to do with his job. The IRS lady should not have entertained him and could have just said "come to my office and i'll be happy to explain all this to you because we are holding the line"...But she didn't! UGH! But anyway, here comes our turn. This old smug rude and unprofessional post office worker had a gaul to tell us that we should have spoke up when earlier when the Lady who comes to pick Express Mail came and say "Hey i have Express Mail!" I mean was that my job????? I told him, thats not my job. How was I supposed to know that she was there to pick up Express Mail?? Then he tried to charge my daughter $281.00!!!! I said "what for I was told to write a check tor $220"! Instead of answering me he turned to my daughter and said "can you explain to her why?" He is so unprofessional and he looked so miserable at his job which he couldn't do properly! This man should not be working in that office! If you can go anywhere else, NEVER go there! EVER!!!! They will tell you they will not accept more people because they are short staffed and they need to take a lunch break and a break and be able to leave home on time. I haven't seen a review in a while so I'll chime in since we just went today. I'll start by saying the address provided unnecessarily more confusing on maps, it's actually straight at the end of Grand Rd. into the last driveway on the right. See small blue signage is the only give away. We got there at 7am on Wednesday 5/29/2024. Apparently Wednesday is the only day for walk ins per paper on front door. We were about 5th person in line, but there was definitely over 50people behind us before it even opened at 8:30am. Appts are impossible online so everyone was a walk in. There was a total of 4 people working upstairs, they'll lead you in shortly after 8:30am. The upstairs is limited space so they'll only let in 20ish people at a time. Even if you have a quick question they'll still tell you to get in the line. We all have quick questions, you aren't special! Don't cut! First inside line is for the staff to proofread your application & make copies of your documents if needed. They package everything up then you wait in blue chairs until an actual passport agent can again review your apps and submit accordingly. LASTLY, you get sent back to the blue chairs and they'll call you up to pay shipping costs. Things to note: you can pay for passport using personal check OR debit/ cash to pay them for a money order. That being said they were short on money orders so definitely recommend bringing your checkbook. You can pay shipping costs via debit card. They do photos there for $15 but I've seen that sometimes it's out of service. Ours was not a complicated case so I cannot speak for citizenship requirements. All in all we were out of there by 9:30am, not too shabby. They make it super clear how to follow up on tracking and estimated processing timelines. I hope I never have to expedite a passport again, but thankful for the hardworking staff! read more

I'm not sure what people are complaining about. This is one of the few places around that will take walk-ins for passport renewals. They were extraordinarily helpful and did everything for us to get our passports quickly. Our kids' passports got processed and approved in 12 BUSINESS DAYS! So here was our experience. We went on a Friday at 6:30am. By then, there were about 7 other groups there (although each group seemed to be there just to process 1 application). By 8, there were probably another 15-20 groups behind us. Around 8:20, this woman came out and explained that they were short staffed so they told us it would probably take a little bit. They also cut off the line because they only had capacity to take a limited number of walk-ins. If I had to guess, they took about 30 walk-ins? At 8:30, they opened the doors and we walked up the stairs. People with appointments lined up to the right while walk-ins got into a line to the left (if you're looking from the stairs). The original woman went on to explain the basics: form needs to be filled out properly, with the right color pen, can pay by check or they can process a money order, etc. Some reviews said this woman was mean or rude. I disagree. She clearly doesn't have time to beat around the bush and is just being direct. They attended to the appointment people first. About maybe 5 groups. Then they would go through the walk-ins. They were pretty quick at processing you, unless you didn't fill out the form completely. I strongly recommend you read the instructions ahead of time and fill out the form properly and legibly. She sent some people to re-fill out the forms where she thought it was hard to read. She said that kind of thing would slow down the processing. So we got our intake down where she checked our application, checked the photos, have us the mailing package for expediting, and gave us a number. We were number 8. They sent us to the other side of the room where there were a bunch of chairs, and a TV playing "Frozen". By then it was about 9:15. During this time, we saw a few people wander in but they were almost immediately turned away as they weren't taking any walk-ins. We got called up another 10 minutes later where they took you behind a partition and another lady actually processed the application. She checked the application and our photos again and told us, she was a little worried about the shadow in the photos so she recommended we re-take the pictures as there could be a chance that would slow things down. So of course we agreed. She also recommended that we include an itinerary of our travel. She said it's best if it's printed but she had us hand-write it on a sheet of paper. After about 10-15 minutes, she then rang up all the fees for processing and expediting and the new passport photos. We paid by money order as we thought that it might help with processing times (that was just our theory, not theirs). She took everything and put it in the overnight envelope and said she would walk it down to the post office to ensure it went out with that day's mail. All in all, we were out by 10:20ish. Yes, that's 4 hours from start to finish but given the circumstances, I was pleasantly surprised. Because that next Monday was a holiday, the passport office in New Hampshire didn't receive it until Tuesday. We also had a second holiday to contend with and so we didn't know if we would get it in time. But sure enough, it was processed and mailed back via UPS 1 day air in 2.5 weeks. I completely believe it was because of all the advice we got and how they checked everything carefully. I hope I never have to expedite a passport again but if I did, I'll definitely come back here. And yes, there's no bathroom so be prepared for that. Good luck! read more

Originally I was told it would take 4-6 weeks for an expedited passport and add on a few more weeks 9-10 week estimate for expedited due to covid. When I got there there was a long line but the majority of them were walk ins. I'd suggest you make an appointment. I needed my photo taken and money order transaction. I was the first person served. I was a bit lost but Brandie helped. Let me tell you she was a blessing to run into. We just got our passports renewed hours ago and here's our experience. We arrived at 8am as advised (to arrive before 8:30 when the doors open). Even at that time, a lady who worked there was already going around telling people what's going to happen and how the process will work and the things in the application they should watch for. At 8am, there must have been about 20 people in line. When the doors opened, we all went upstairs and lined up on Line 1 as instructed. At that point, another lady who worked there explained the common errors applicants make so that there was still time to fix it. While in line, another personnel was going around checking and making sure we got all our documents ready and that we got the right form. It took us an hour before it was our turn. I expected worse. After the lady checked our forms and documentation, she gave us a number and we then proceeded to the second step of the process. It took about 10 minutes before someone called our number so then we stepped up and provided our documents. Took about 10 minutes including taking a passport photo. Then we sat down again and waited to pay. That didn't take long either, we were called in 5 minutes. We went there for 2 passport applications for a minor and 1 passport renewal. We were walking out the passport office by 10:30am. On our way out, the line was shorter and you actually can walk in at around that time but then I guess this largely depends on if it's a busy day or not. I went there expecting the worst but instead what I got was a pretty pleasant experience--which is saying something since this is somewhat a government agency. My advise, you can walk in, just get there at 8:00am or earlier. Make sure you get ALL your documents ready, copy the front and back if needed and bring originals. Also bring a black pen, there are pens there but they're all tied up to something. Lastly, be nice and treat everyone with respect and they will return the favor. No one was rude the entire time. This is the worst location I have visited. I acknowledge the "short staff" situation, but there is still no excuse for subpar and unprofessional attitude these employees conduct themselves with. I was first in line for walk-in, I arrived at 6:15 am which is more than two hours before the doors open. When the doors were finally opened, they let us know the photo service was down and we had to go down the street to Triple AAA to get our photos taken. They gave us all a number which also reflected our position in line. When I returned from getting my photos taken, I was told to get at the end of the line, BEHIND the other walk-ins still waiting even though I was first in line and had number 1. I asked several of them if there was anything that could be done considering I put forth all the extra effort to be first in line and shouldn't have to wait for those that were numbers 20-25 and arrived just before opening around 8:25 am. It was completely unfair of them. I had specific hours set aside to miss work as well that aligned with my efforts of being first and getting taken care of first which should have had me done by 9 am. These employees laughed and mocked us that wished to have our number honored. One (red hair, short, black woman) even laughed and said "hey theres other locations man". I felt disrespected and disgusted by their behavior. As if post office/passport duties aren't a burden enough, they made it even worse. read more

This place gets insanely busy. Insane. I have showed up several times but couldn't get past the long line. Finally realized I could schedule an appointment through the USPS website, although it 4 weeks out. However I want to write this review to say how extremely kind and helpful were the women who helped me today. As daunting as all the paperwork they were about to process for the day, the ones that I encountered were great. Just make sure you have all your paperwork. And save a dollar on processing fees if you bring your own copy of your ID and whatever proof of citizenship you brought. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how fast, efficient & helpful everyone was here! I came in to get my kids passports. I did make an appointment 4 weeks in advance. I also showed up early to make sure I had everything I needed. I didn't spend more than 2 hours here. They ARE short staffed. There were two people working the front desk and one in the back. There were about 5 other people waiting for there appointments but the staff was moving very fast. They were very patient with me & answered all my questions thoroughly. I appreciated that because I had my 6 year old & my infant with me but not once did I feel rushed or dismissed. They take photos here as well for $15. My recommendation is to have all your documents in order & call ahead of you have any questions. Remember to bring your check book unless you want to pay for a money order with them which is also an option. They accept debit cards for the post office fees. I suggest going online to make an appointment.... its a month wait for an appointment but worth it... if you decide to walk-in show up at 7am... at 8:30am they stop taking walk-in... if you renew passport they say mail it in... if lost or have an expired passport they will help you out.... i would pick up a form in the post office and fully fill it out carefully... read the application on what you need before going! There is a kiosk in the post office to make an appointment but it is only on during 8-12 m-f.... Amber and Anita are TOO GOOD at their job, this was the most smooth and easy process to get my new passport. I've read horror stories online over and over of other experiences with passport agencies, but these women were professional, personable and extremely helpful. Amber first explained to me everything I needed to do and fill out a couple weeks prior and told me in exact detail what to have ready so that my time here goes by quickly. When I came in today, I could hear her telling other folks exactly what she told me, but they still would show up with incomplete documents, not all their required items, etc. on top of it all, there was a lot of customers to give her attitude even though she had already explained the process. After I saw Amber today, I felt like I wanted to apologize to her for her lack of help and chaos some costumers were bringing, but she was humble and kind and said not to worry about it. Clearly her job has a lot of stress around it, so it is very beyond me that people coming in would make her day even harder by not listening. She is genuinely so hardworking and deserves every pay raise this company can give her. Flash forward to my time with Anita, my passport photo I brought in was too dark and one part of my application was wrong so we had to fix all of that in order to continue. She was kind, funny, quick and efficient in doing so and even let me see my passport photo so I can know if I was lookin busted in that photo or not lol she explained the whole process of what receiving my passport would look like and even offered guidance of where I can use my passport and how that works. I was amazed at how easy this whole thing seemed, but truly it's the people behind the scenes making it so smooth. Both women are truly the backbone of that agency with their upbeat demeanor and can-do attitudes. I hope they are being recognized for their hard work! Decided to do a walk in because appointments weren't for well over a month and have been waiting over 5 hours with no end in sight. There's also no bathroom to use in the entire building. I came with all paperwork properly filled out and a photo done at a passport photo place that they state is "questionable". If you need to leave and go to the bathroom they'll make you give up your spot and get a new number so maybe wear some Depends and bring some food, good book, and definitely pack your patience. read more

I arrived Friday at noon. The last person in line said he as told he was the last person and they were not accepting anymore people in the line. They had given him a sign indicating this. They close at 3:30 pm so I wasn't expecting this. One of the workers said it's better to come before they open. I arrived at 6:05 Saturday morning. They open at 7. There were 13 people ahead of me. The whole process took 3 hours. The same worker said they were short staffed. There were only 3 people working. A few tips: bring a folding chair, water, snacks, and patience. They don't take pictures there. make sure you have everything printed and done or they won't let you in until you do. They have 1 person checking you in which took an hour for her to do 4 groups. To anyone getting a new passport, I sincerely hope you have a much easier time than I. After much misinformation and number of times I have been turned away, I highly reccommened bringing everything even if the workers say otherwise. Your birth certificate (from Department of Health Services), your driver's license/state ID, Social Security Card, and the forms (fill out and bring both if you feel doubt). I've had to come here a total of 7 times; once to the post office to get information on replacing a damaged passport at the postal office, and 6 times to the actual passport office. The first time at the passport office, they gave me a blue form to fill and told me to come back with my damaged passport. I triple checked to make sure that it was the correct form for a DAMAGED passport, and they assured me it was and shooed me away. So I left to get my pictures and fill out the form. The second time I arrived, they told me I had to redo my pictures. Which I was uncertain of as I had gone to a photographer with experience, but who am I to argue? So off I went. The third time, I was informed I had the wrong form, and they gave me a brown one to fill. A minor annoyance at this point, but I didn't want to take it out on the worker when someone else made a mistake. I was also informed my last pictures were fine which was... off putting. I had to leave early, but they still said I was fine with just my passport and didn't need anything else. When I came back the fourth time, they told me I needed my birth certificate and that my passport was not enough. At this point i was getting a bit frustrated. I had to get a new one a few years ago, and so brought the papers I used last time. The fifth time around they told me I had the wrong forms - and when I asked for clarification as to why these didn't work this time, I was more or less shoo-ed away again. The sixth time around, I brought EVERYTHING. I was paranoid at this point, ensuring I had the necessary documents and asking if the worker needed anything else. The worker obviously seemed bothered and annoyed at my double checking, and when I mentioned having been here 7 times - she brushed it off and told me "you gotta read everything." As though I hadn't done so and attempted to ensure I had the proper documents. (She also had mentioned I should take better care of my things, which I found rude - she did not know my story or how my passport came to be damaged. It came off as belittling even if she did not intend it to be.) This was incredibly frustrating for me, and I couldn't help but start to break down. It takes 20-30 minutes for me to drive here, and an additional ~30 minutes of waiting - and I suffer from a back injury, so this entire process has been physically/mentally painful and exhausting. As embarassing as it was for me to start crying in public and express my frustration - I couldn't help it! I just did what the workers told me, which I recognize now was my mistake. I try sooo hard to not make life difficult for those in customer service, but the idea that none of them could give me a straight answer, wouldn't take the time to answer any questions asked for clarification and shooed me away when I did or made snide comments that I personally found to be belittling - I cannot find acceptable. If they weren't certain of something, they should say as much and provide both forms when requested, and suggest to the person to bring everything just in case so you don't waste your time. read more

I went in on a Thursday to inquire about information and noticed a super small line. I came back on a Saturday with my family and the line was longer as I had expected it. After 1 hour and 20 minutes I asked about the bathroom when I was told there aren't any on site and I had to drive to the Shell gas station. We were just waiting for our pictures to be printed so I waited. Unfortunately it was their 2nd day using a new camera with their new printer and when the film ran out it caused a delay of 20 minutes. There was bit a confusion and when it was my time to approach the cashier I asked for a clarification on the amount I was paying. I had followed the instructions and brought my copies. As she went over the costs with an attitude I realized that I was being charged an extra $1 for copies. That's when she the cashier snapped and became upset. Instead of canceling my transaction she took out a dollar her personal belongings and handed it to me. She had mumbled something under her breath that I chose to ignore as I wanted to attend my baby's needs and my own. However, when the check-in clerk walked by she mocked me and said to her "why would you charge her $2 when she brought her copies?" I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude and her sarcasm just continued. I finally just asked for her name and she abruptly took away my receipt to write her name on it. I get it, it was past their closing time but it was not my fault that their equipment delayed our visit there. read more

I had an appt for first time passport with photos for 2 adults on a weekday morning. It was pretty easy and seamless. All 4 individuals working there were very nice! We were in and out in less than an hour. I believe most of it going well had to do with us over preparing - we had our DS 11 form and 3 black/white copies of our birth certificate/naturalization, IDs and brought personal checks ready for payment to the US Dept. of State.
