Was just sending out a piece of mail I came in 10 minutes before closing I just was filling out the envelope and the lady kept asking me and the other guy next to me if we were almost done they are closing . I get you want to go home but I still had a few minutes before you can close the door anyway so I said I still have a few mins and she said umhummmm . Then another lady asked me you almost done were about to close and I'll just take that when your done & stood there like geez I would have been done before if you did keep harassing me !! This post office is less run down than most other post offices. There is good parking out front. Located on hicksville road, it's in an easy location to find. Still being run down and somewhat antiquated, there are some self help stations upon entrance. Fees posted are somewhat confusing. As you enter the lobby there are options for mailing (hope you brought your pen) that are poorly organized and have incorrect prices on them. Fortunately, their saving grace is there staff. After having interactions with the delivery staff in my neighborhood that work out of this office, I was not surprised by the friendly attitudes of the staff in this office. 2 employees offered help, which seems to be a rare thing these days. Checking out was painless and service was for sure 5 star. It reminds me of going to a hidden hole in the wall for the best food. Customer service gets 5* and the layout and run down facility gets 3* for a happy 4*. read more

A friend of mine requested I post his review of this particular post office, as he does not have a Yelp account. According to him, the parking lot is always packed with limited space and extremely challenging to navigate through. There is always a line of 10 plus people and only one person working, who does NOT work efficiently or promptly. There are additional staff in the back who do NOT assist when the line is long, however once in a while, they do come to the front and ask if anyone is dropping off but again do NOT help and will only direct customers to the automated machine. It takes at least 40 minutes to drop something off at this post office. I would suggest not visiting this location based on the multiple experiences that my friend has shared. read more

We had a great passport experience here. I can't remember the name of the woman who helped us but she was phenomenal!!! If you need a passport with the photo taken on the premises I highly recommend this post office. The passport came in two weeks! And it wasn't even expedited. read more

This post office would be rated a zero or negative number if this rating system permitted it. Despite making requests on a regular basis, simply to have mail delivered, the post master doesn't return calls, is rude when speaking to him and apparently the postman assigned to delivery at our location has been instructed not to deliver our mail! People addressing mail to us are telling us the mail is being returned. While once upon a time, the post office was a reliable and affordable way to have letters delivered, this post office in particular has worked to make themselves obsolete. While it is true that generally no tax dollars go to support the post office, the damage they do to business in not delivering mail and adversely impacting business in America should be put to an end. Let those who work at this office be forced to get real jobs where they are accountable for what they do (or don't do). read more

Even though counter service closes early, they offer 24 hour access for mailing packages, purchasing stamps and dropping off letters making it convenient for anyone not needing full service.......added bonus - most of the time, you're the only one in there so you never have to wait on a line. read more

One thing I have to say is this PO has nice people working behind the counter. However, I would give it zero stars if it weren't for my wonderful regular mailman Steve. He is the only reason why I haven't gone postal yet. The USPS is awesome only when Steve my long time regular mailman is working. He is the best! When he is on vacation it is very frightening. The subs are awful!!! They are slow as molasses and sometimes we don't get our mail until 6-7:00 pm!! On a few occasions they even misdelivered my packages to the wrong house and I get my neighbors mail. Steve the mailman never makes those mistakes. Once again my beloved Steve the mailman is on vacation and I was supposed to get an important package today. I was home and waited all day for it and it was out for delivery at 8:18 am. It said on the tracking it will be delivered by 8pm today. At 6:50 pm the mail truck with one of the substitutes was around the corner so I thought the mail was just going to be late today. Just now at 7:23 pm, and my tracking on my package just updated and said "ATTEMPTED DELIVERY" "HELD AT POST OFFICE AT CUSTOMER REQUEST". WTF! I was at home all day and all evening! I NEVER requested my package to be held at the post office and needed that package today. I think the sub scanned it to say that under the tracking number because it would look bad on the metrics for the bosses if nobody on my block got their mail and packages today!! If I would have known the subs couldn't deliver my important package today, I would have went there in person when USPS was open as I was home all day and would have had no problem doing that. Why the false scans though? That is lying and deceitfulness and hides any inadequacies from upper management. Maybe if you had a scan that said "too busy to deliver today", upper management would send you more carriers if you are short staffed. As a matter of fact I bet the supervisors told the sub to mark that on the tracking to stop the clock so the metrics wouldn't be off. I felt pissed off because I never requested to pick up my mail and felt that your PO falsified the scan to make yourselves look good. How come Steve the mailman can deliver all the mail and packages by around 3-4 pm every day and the sub(s) can't? This wonderful mail carrier can't even take a day off or go on vacation, otherwise the whole mail system in my neighborhood falls to pieces. This one man is the glue that holds everything together and I bet he never even gets any thanks or praise from upper management. This is not acceptable. None of my neighbors or I received their mail today and it is not even a national holiday and a normal summer weekday. I could see if it were Christmas or a major holiday, but why did we all not receive our mail on a Thursday in the middle of August?! Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on at this post office?! Steve the mailman, please come back to work. You deserve a raise and are the only one at this post office who busts his @#$ to deliver our mail on time. When Steve retires, my block in Bethpage is never going to get their mail or packages delivered on time again. ***Note to Postmaster: Give Steve a raise because he is pure gold and without him you would have irate customers and I think your supervisors and subs should stop falsifying the scans on tracking if you can't deliver our packages on time! read more

Sent off a package from this one and initially headed to the Automated Postal Center, as I generally don't like waiting in long lines & figured it would take less time to use the machine vs. waiting in the moderate line. First off, the machine was SUPER slow. They need to fix this, even though I think the machines here were accessible 24/7. Frustrated with the slow loading, I got in line behind only one other person. The upside was the lady who helped me was extremely polite. It was a Friday afternoon before the infamous Hurricane Irene was going to hit so I was trying to get my item taken care of quickly. Was there this morning ,Brian and Charles were friendly and knowledgeable. Taking care of customers quickly and efficiently. And taking the time to say hello and goodbye to the many people who obviously knew them. Charles was training a new employee and she was just as friendly and helpful . I would rate 0 or negative stars if there is. I used 2-day priority but my package has been sitting at this location for a month. I opened a case and after three days, the case status was updated to resolved LOL but tracking still shows in transit. Called consumer affairs and was told that the package was not found. How can they resolve the case if the package is not found..OMG I am soooo mad!!! That is sooooo ridiculous. Does anyone know what we can do about it? read more

Have to revisit this one. My fiancé was cursed at by the POSTMASTER of this place today. He didnt understand why his package was not delivered, and she gave him a serious attitude. Every time he asked a question, her response was "I don't know". Upon calling later on, another staff member who didn't know of the situation answered the phone with an attitude. I won't get into details, but my fiancé left off by telling the postmaster at bethpage post office he plans on no longer using the service of the USPS and her answer was "fine". Sent a letter on June 10 from Bethpage to Manhattan, NYC. Was told by the clerk that Priority Mail would get it there by Monday, June 13. For some reason the Post Office sent the letter to Brooklyn. This was a time sensitive mailing, which is why I used Priority Mail. From Brooklyn to Manhattan it took the post office ONE WEEK. That's right. I could've walked from Bethpage to NYC in that time. I was told that priority mail is a service but not guaranteed. So then why am I paying extra? Nothing but excuses from the postmaster at Bethpage, and zero response from the postmaster general after a complaint. Next time unless it's something like a birthday card I'll use FedEx or UPS. The post office says they don't know why they're losing money. I know why. Poor service and nothing but excuses. Oh, and this isn't the first time they've done this to me, but I assure you, it is the last. Never again. read more

Sent a priority mail 2 days. On the tracking I dont understand why my package was processed twice. Until now its still sitting on their facility. It was supposed to be delivered Sept. 7. I called to find out where my package is. Tracking says it left this facility 12 days ago. "Sometimes things get lost" is what I was told. I'm "allowed" to call back and check, but they will not call me back, copy me on an email, or contact me otherwise. No case number, no report filed, Diane will just "check with" "someone" via email who might know where on earth my daughter's Easter dress went. (probably on one of their children right now). When your package is missing from here, because, judging by all these reviews, it will be... call Diane (631) 755-2850. This likely won't be of any help, but at least you can try.
