I came in on a Friday morning around 11:25am to mail a small package out. There was one staff member behind the desk. I got a large (10.5x16) bubble mailer for $3.19 and filled out the information. I mailed the small package with USPS Ground Advantage. Tracking is included for free on all Ground Advantage packages. The receipt indicates the destination, weight, estimated delivery date, tracking #, insurance up to $100.00 included, and grand total. The package arrived safely and on the estimated delivery date. Thank you USPS for processing and delivering mail and packages to individuals and businesses in the U.S.

The Postal brick building has an old traditional apperance which fits well in the town. Recently, I have been having issues when it comes to holding mail and forwarding services. The service from government-employed postal workers can also be inconsistent; sometimes good, sometimes not so much. However, the service for ordinary mail packaging was good today. On the other hand, if the mail service were privatized, prices might increase, but the quality of service could improve significantly. For example, I often use UPS stores, which are privately owned, and their service is consistently excellent. However, changing the current system would require an act of Congress. There are substantial legal and political obstacles to privatizing the Postal Service, which makes such a transition complex and challenging.
