This time I went to this new location at 307 West Harris (Harris & Summer), only to encounter a very rude woman, too busy to greet people by standing up. From her computer 6 feet away, she ordered me to fill out a form, when I only need to price a box for mailing the following week. Apparently upset that I did not want to fill out a form, this rude blond-haired woman begrudgingly checked the weight and measurements and quoted me $80!!! I kid you not. This was a lightweight box with a jar of honey and a lightweight honey pot, with foam and paper to protect against breakage. Two minutes earlier I got a quote of $19.60 from Henderson Post Office, to get there in 5 days. After this rude outlandish experience, I went to the UPS and Fed Ex places up the road. One is next to BevMo near Eureka Natural Foods and the other is across from Costco in Eureka. One quoted me 29.99 for 5 day and the other quoted me 31.00 for 5 day ground, so $50 less than this rip off place, and only $10 more than the USPS. The USPS is $60 less than this rip-off place. All the other places have excellent customer service after years of dealing with them all. Save your hard-earned money and maintain your peace of mind and go anywhere but here. This is a business trying to bilk people during financially challenging times, and I hope you spread the word to never go here.

The customer service was disappointing from start to finish. One employee in particular had such a loud, shouting voice that it was difficult to carry on a conversation with the person assisting me. Overall, the experience was frustrating. The customer service leaves much to be desired, and they appear to charge extra for nearly every small service. I highly appreciate that this post office offers services such as passport photos, money orders (cheaper than my bank), greeting cards along with gift cards, boxes, tape, bubble wrap in a small/medium/ large sized packet, a packet of envelopes, PO Boxes, and stamps behind the counter. Today I got scolded for not affixing my certified mail receipts to the envelope. I told the clerk after having the cops called on me in McKinleyville, I'm scared to death to make a mistake. I've never had anyone complain about having to affix the certified mail receipts before. Isn't that part of the job? ‍ He tried to make it sound like it was policy but I'm not seeing any evidence of that. These customer facing employees seriously need to get over themselves. It was a real come down after such a great experience at Post Haste. These two post offices are in desperate need of training. But, I won't hold my breath. They are pretty pricey but I wanted to do my part and help out local businesses. But, after going to the notary here, I will never go back. I tried twice to use her services and both times it was very uncomfortable. The first time she hassled me because of the way I sign my name. I told her I've signed that way since I was sixteen and it's never been a problem before. It doesn't seem to be a problem for Post Haste but it was definitely a problem for Chelsea. I don't want to have to pay to argue with the person behind the counter. I will simply take my business elsewhere if you can't treat me like a human being. I tried two different times to work with her because I needed a notary for several transactions. I didn't want to have to leave McKinleyville for notary services. I even tried complementing her ring to break the ice and get her down off her high horse. No luck, she just scowled at me. It was real mean girl energy and I just don't have time for high school games. This is business. If I'm a paying customer I don't think it's too much to ask to just be pleasant. Thank God I found Post Haste in Arcata. I have used them multiple times since my experiences in McKinleyville and I've been very happy with the service I get from Post Haste. This is why I love Capitalism. There's always someone else who will take my money. If you don't like what you do, maybe get a different job.
