Had a terrible experience today. I need notary service and it was a simple divorce form and I had all info there but the lady that helped me was so mean and anxious ( I believe she had no idea what forms I had there) and instead being nice and figuring out she was very anxious maybe about to leave for a break ? I had to step out to call the attorney who told me was one simple form to sign only. She was treating me like a felony. They have a copy machine, but insist on an employee operating it. That works on days when they have all employees working, but on days when the man and woman couple are there it's a chaotic mess. I think the older woman may be an owner. She acts quite obsessive compulsive. After questioning a woman about the contents of what she wanted to ship she talked the customer into purchasing a different box. That was a time consuming and ridiculous waste of time as each item was removed from the first box. There doesn't seem to be any ability for the owner to be expedient or realize the bigger picture when lots of people are standing in line. read more

I had to send a package to a secret laboratory in Pennsylvania. I didn't know the address because the laboratory is secret. The clerk (are your workers clerks or support staff?) was very kind when I asked about getting a package of biological samples to a lab with no known address. He/him said, "I'm fixing to eat on your biological samples if you leave them with me." I then asked him/he if he ever travels to Pennsylvania and the answer was given with a curt nod in the affirmative. It was at that point I knew the clerk would ingest the samples, travel to Pennsylvania, find the lab and allow extraction to take place. The world can breathe a sigh of relief now thanks to this business and your helpful support staff (clerk?). read more

I came here with my friend to pick up his mail and I felt so uncomfortable the whole time as a black man. I was getting stared at by a woman who works there which made me highly uncomfortable. I was wearing a mask the entire time, because I try to be respectful of those around me. As my friend received his mail from an employee with a beard, it was brashly handed to him. We had a bunch of mail and no one offered to help or a cart. I'd hate to think this has to do with my race, but you never know nowadays. I'd definitely not recommend this store and have had pleasant experiences at a similar store in Mckinleyville. People of color, avoid this store! read more

What I really do not like about this place is the fact that they over charge and do not make up for it with customer service. The lady that owns the place is always rude, whether it be in person or over the telephone, and I have noticed that since day 1. The other workers are nice, but the younger girl seems like she is the only worker who actually wants to help you get in and get out with a good deal. The post boxes are overpriced in comparison to the post offices boxes, but since they are independent this is to be expected. If you rent a post box from them they do sign for packages, which is about the only good thing about this place. Bottom line, if you are coming here because of the "line" at the Arcata post office don't do it. I have been here multiple times and the post office has always had cheaper prices and better customer service. read more

I've always had good, friendly service from this place. It's got just about everything you could need from a postal place: copying, faxing, shipping, packing, etc. They even have a notary. Doesn't seem any more expensive than their competition is, mailing stuff internationally is going to be spendy. You can't just slap a stamp on it and expect it to get to Abu Dhabi without someone wanting a little extra $$ to speed it on its way. read more

I have shipped with Post-Haste in the past, using their packing service as well when I've had either fragile or oddly shaped items I didn't feel I could effectively pack myself. Everyone working there has always seemed happy and enthusiastic to provide great service. Yesterday I took in a large, heavy item for packing and mailing and again received great service. The person who helped me went so far as to consult with another person determine if that person thought his idea was solid. This package cost a LOT to ship, but one of the things I appreciate about Post-Haste as opposed to going directly to a USPS, UPS or FedEx is that they can show me comparison shipping options. Here's what really prompted me to write a review -- after I was home I received a voicemail message saying that they had found a different packing method which would save me nearly HALF of the shipping cost. To me, this is above and beyond. They in no way had to do that and their action exemplified fine customer service. \ If you want to do business with a local, honest business who cares, go to Post-Haste. read more

They used to have a computer you could use to access and print your documents. Now they just have a printer you can stick a flash drive into. Can't print Word documents - it has to be saved as a PDF. And they give the option to email your document from your phone, BUT they don't open GoogleDocs links! In a town full of college students, 90% of which use GoogleDocs, they don't open GoogleDocs links?! Had to drive all the way home, convert my document to PDF, bring it back and print it. Waste of time and gas when I could have just emailed it to them. read more

Staff were very nice but I had a serious sticker shock. If you need to send an envelope overnight, they charge 2-3 times the price for FedEx next day delivery. And a third more for USPS 2nd day. That's pretty expensive for convenience and I'd have gone to FedEx if I'd known this in advance. read more

I really appreciate having post haste in Arcata. I know my packages will arrive and be safe until I can pick them up, unlike my front porch. And then they'll help me take them out to the car. They pack things for me when I'm rushed. There's cool toys for my kids to play with while I'm there. More places should be like post haste. read more

My spouse and I had a mailbox here for a few months and I was disappointed with their service overall. We had a package delivered and my spouse's whole name didn't fit on the label, so the sender put her first initial, middle, then last name. Post Haste told us this was a problem and that if another package came that way, they would automatically return it to sender. Then, my spouse got a package of medications sent from the VA (spouse is a combat veteran). Well, the VA used my spouse's maiden name on the shipping label by accident. The first name was correct, middle name was correct, box number was correct... They were obviously able to figure out to whom the package belonged, because a rude woman called me to tell me that they would not allow us to pick up her medications unless we showed them military discharge papers or a marriage license/divorce papers. I called the local Post Master who said that if Post Haste was able to reasonably determine to whom the package belonged, it would be illegal for them to withhold or reroute the package. I was able to get the medications the next day, but there was a nasty warning note left in my mailbox stating that any further packages with my spouse's maiden name would be returned to sender without warning. What a nice way to treat your disabled veterans who need their medications. I closed our mailbox at Post Haste after the latest bit of their semantics. Of course, I wasn't able to get a refund for the next month that was already pre-paid. I got a mailbox at a different local business and they are much easier to work with and have assured me their customers don't get hassled like the customers of Post Haste. My advice is to stay away from their mailbox service if you want to reliably receive your mail! Update: Post Haste has blocked me from their Facebook page for posting this same review. Pretty much what I'd expect from folks who do business the way they do. read more

The employees here are attentive and professional. The Arcata post office can often have a slow moving line out the door. Post Haste provides a time saving alternative. It will cost more but its often worth it. They do a great job custom packing your items for shipment. Always good music playing too! read more

I love getting the extra service at Post Haste, and Im willing to pay for the benefit of saving time and CHOICE. I had to send a package to my daughter in Spain. The few ounces over some weight could mean $100 more to mail. They let me open the box, weighed it as I pulled out the lower priority items, then filled it with packing material. Then I could see on a screen what the cost of shipping would be with different carriers, Fed Ex, UPS, USPS and depending on how fast it needed to get there. I went in to Post- Haste today for the first time, to mail my son some magazines, while he is away at boot camp. I knew they would be a little more than the post office, because they have to make money. They were kind of busy, but I was kindly greeted immediately by a gentleman with a beard and helped right away. They made sure that I got the best deal and I was in and out in 5 minutes. Great place to bring your business. I was sending the last of a move to my daughter... I had a couple of boxes full but not taped or labelled, and a couple of bags of stuff that needed a box or two. The very friendly young man at the front desk weighed each box, asked if there were breakables needing bubble wrap, etc.; for each box, let me compare the prices and speeds of the various servers they use (seems their choices were USPS Ground, or FedEx) and choose how i wanted them to go; then found the right new box to jam in the extra bags very economically. Noting the time, he hustled so that they went out with that afternoon's shipments. In the end, i felt like the major hassle of packaging and mailing this amount of stuff had become a pleasant experience--largely thanks to the eagerly helpful young man, and also to the nature of the business: taking the legwork and frustration out of figuring out the best way to mail bulky items. The shipment made its way to my daughter's doorstep in L.A. in exactly two days, as promised; and as i had hoped to get out of there for under a hundred dollars, 98.25 was perfect. That included 5 bucks for the box, and 5 for the labor. Definitely worth ten dollars to save who knows how much time & trouble seeking out the materials and shipping method on my own. I will be back next time i have something big to mail! read more
