It took me 35 minutes at the post office, which at the end of the day isn't that bad. There was not enough distancing for COVID-19. The lady behind me was way too close. It feels like there are only 2 employees ever working. One employee per line. I don't understand why they split the 2 lines like that (see photo). It makes it so one line is really short and the other is always really long. People are often confused which line to go on. I had to explain it to a bunch of people. It's not my job! Also very disgusted when I realized I was sharing the line with a giant dead roach. At least I hope it was dead! (See photo) 10/10 don't recommend this post office. I wouldn't come here but it's the one designated for my building. I have had problems with my mail getting lost, stolen, and not delivered by this post office. This is the worst of the worst. I dread having to come to this post office. They fake deliveries, and even stated on this last package that I refused delivery! NO SUCH THING OCCURED!! Why would I punish myself? Waiting in the line to retrieve a package is torture. These workers get paid by the hour, and they exploit that fact. Based on the conditions of my packages....I'd say they bring the packages back to try and break into them. ALL of my boxes have been ripped, or had fist size holes in them. Obviously trying to get in and grab something from inside the box. Management can do way better. Never have I experienced such chaos and disorganization. Other post offices would love to get you in and out. My recommendation is to stay as far away as possible, but these workers make that impossible. I am a senior citizen and rarely get out to go to the P.O. due to mobility issues. I also sell on eBay, so I rely on the pick-up service offered by the P.O. to get my packages out in a timely manner. I put in the request slip and hope for the best. It's a hit and miss proposition now since the carrier that was most reliable, has retired. The most recent carrier is pretty reliable, but when he's out sick or on vacation, well...problems. I try calling the P.O. but for whatever reason, the phone goes unanswered. This is unacceptable and needs to be fixed. Why can't someone answer the phone? Why can't pick-up requests be honored? Why can't we in this community be treated with respect? read more

They created 2 lines for postal services, and if the 1st line is empty, and the 2nd line is soo long that postal customers are waiting in the back near the "Rent-A-Box", the postal clerks will not shift the customers to shorter line. it is an extremely inefficient process and needs to be corrected asap! read more

I had been at the Morris Heights Post Office in The Bronx with my grandma for over an hour. The line was so long it was down the block, there were no social distracting guidelines outside or inside the building and the building has one person working! She was very nice but why was she the only one working? We saw several employees walking around outside or in the fast food restaurants in the area. We even saw an employee, no mask on but a cigarette in his mouth. This is precisely why the service is so trash, the employees obviously don't care. USPS needs to do much better. read more

Been here since 9:12am. It's now 10:15am and it's only one person working. Another lady just started helping, and she was nasty. I'm showing her my tracking number on my phone as I always do ( even thru covid) and she rolled her eyes and demanded I write it down. Horrid customer service, female employees seem to hate their jobs as they give off the nastiest attitude. Long wait time and short staff is a recipe to take your business elsewhere. Also noticed most of the staff is predominately black which causes severe language barriers to non English speaking clients who refer to other clients for interpretation. read more

I understand that we are going through a pandemic but the longs are ridiculously long and I have errends to do during the day. I have to get up at 7AM and be standing outside in line by 7:45 and usually Im the third or forth person waiting. I'm a diabetic and deal with fibromyalgia as well and I can't be standing too long so I bring a chair to sit down until they open up around 9:10am that's bad. they should open up earlier like 8am. I don't like this morris heights post office they need to be more mindful of people and they need more staff to take care of people who need to get to their p.o. boxes, get in line to buy stamps or boxes, and they need someone who will be there to assit others who need to pick up packages. make it quick and easy for us. I had the prior good experience of being promptly ushered in to do my mails however, when I got to the front desk, the employee handling my mails was unpleasant and condescending that I left the line and decided to go mail my letters to another post office branch. I am beyond angry about the "service" provided by the Morris Heights USPS! I've gone through a week of trying to reschedule a delivery, only to be told that there was no record of my requests. I was assured that my packages would be redelivered yesterday; I didn't even get a notice slip, but I saw a statement online about an alleged delivery attempt. I was at home all day, and no one came to my home. I'm disabled, so going to the post office is not a consideration. So after way too much stress, I ordered the return of these packages to their sender. Especially frustrating, because I can't go to the store to purchase these items. I had to literally download Yelp and talk about this USPS. this place is beyond slow you will Spend a min of 20-40 min in line just waiting hopefully to get get your package or just ship. Today I woke up early and got in the usps at 8:50am it was EMPTY wow a miracle I'm leaving early I said to myself well no I l left at 9:30am because one of the workers was arguing with there supervisor it to attend me and she didn't want to literally after I spoke twice like why can't she help me if the line is getting longer mind you it was only me inside now there's 5 ppl in line and the same customer is still being taken care of and the other doesn't want to take care of me when she does gives me attitude and walks away amd never came back I finally got my package after 40min wait I do not RECOMMEND THIS USPS AT ALL they should bring back the well dressed black gentleman who had the usps running the way it's supposed to bring him back he has a mustache I think glasses for sure he was respected by the usps workers something I've never seen in that location! read more

I have been waiting in this hell hole for close to two hours for service! The line for pick- up is out of the door, literally. There is absolutely no excuse for this. The one girl handling pick ups disappears for 20 mins before she services the next person. Did she get lost in narnia in the back room? I have no clue There are currently 11 people ahead of me, i left work early to tend to an issue. They faked a redelivery twice, which has caused me to come to this location. Usps is a despicable place, but this location is likely the worst. I am sure i will be here for an additional hour before i am seen. There are 4 staff members handling the retail windows, and just one for pick ups. How does this make any logical sense? This is not the end of my complaint. I've seen lots of foolishness at the Post Office, but recently, my neighborhood office has crossed the line into sanctioned mail theft. Mail carriers who deliver parcels to my apartment building have the attitude of "everyone knows their neighbors." On more than one occasion, I've waited at home for a delivery, only to find a slip on the floor, stating that my package has been given to someone in a nearby apartment. I do not know my neighbors; contrary to USPS policy, I do NOT request that anything addressed to me should be given to a resident of another apartment. A few days ago, a mail carrier asked me to accept a package for my next door neighbor. When I refused, explaining that I do not know those residents, the mail carrier responded, "Well, here's a good way to get to meet them!" Absolutely NOT!! I don't know if these neighbors speak my language, or how they'd respond to a stranger who had their mail. Now, a mail carrier has given a package I ordered from Amazon to a stranger. This is so unacceptable! I paid for the delivery of items that I'm unable to carry home. Giving this package to someone else, assuming that we're neighbors, so it will be given to me, is nothing but acting as an accomplice to mail theft. Yes, I've filed an official complaint with USPS. Somehow, I don't expect any resolution to this problem. Maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll find my package on the floor, or by the trash cans. Since moving to this postal zone nearly 18 years ago, I've had many interactions with this particular post office; most of which have been ok. However, over the years, there has been a decline in service. For example, I often put in requests for package pick-ups, and the service has been erratic at best. Sometimes the pick-ups happen on the days I request; sometimes not. Secondly, when I've tried to call the facility to express particular concerns, the phone goes unanswered during working hours, or I get a constant busy signal. This has occurred often; yesterday and today being examples. However, not all has been negative. There is a particular carrier who has been very professional and efficient in doing his job. I won't use his name to protect his privacy. The two star rating is the best I can give because when I compare this P.O. to facilities in Manhattan, this one falls short. read more

So much confusion. Your package is there, then it is not there, then it is there. Letters will come to my address that do not have our name or address but if ours are not perfect it goes right back. I have been at this address for over 20 yrs. As to the story that they tried to deliver a package, ha ha. Fast, safe and secure need new meanings.
