I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. Slow service, rude and nasty Black female (I can't call her a lady) behind the counter. Oh, did I mention that they lost 5 of my packages so far? They are beyond irresponsible. I filed multiple claims, but they claimed that after 'investigation', my packages were delivered. I asked for an accurate date and time but was told that for some reason, there was no GPS address of where the package was dropped off. Guess what? They could not support their claim that my package was delivered, but I have surveillance cameras to prove that no one ever came! But still, my claim was denied. Be aware this is the worst post office in this location and the stuff is so horrible and very lazy it seems like no one wants to work in this place! There is always long lines and long wait! The mailman and the people that are delivering the packages are horrible on many occasions my package would get lost or delivered to a wrong address or they would just simply by being lazy will check it as attempted to deliver but in fact never showed up at my place this is very frustrating for me and every time I try to go in the post office to solve the problem or get a straight answer on to what is going on with my packages they would never come up with helpful answer. Called USPS HQ to track a package that hasnt been updated since the first delivery attempt was made and was kindly informed that the package is being returned back to sender (Hong Kong) after 4 days (when the minimum as she informed was 5). She instructed me to call the local post office (actually gave me their fax number) and suddenly i saw the gates of hell open up. Thats exaggerated, it was actually more like i was a customer in the Dave Chapelle "Pop Copy" sketch. "Why do we treat our customers like this? FUCK EM, thats why!" Inbtween speaking wit laquesha or rasheeda or la fonda or whatever the fuck her name is, i was put on "hoed" (hold) about 5 times in 30 minutes and given a bullshit story straight from the block. Long story short, i dont have confidence in this post office and quite frankly i feel like they are stealing our mail. Also btw, that ghetto attitude doesn't fly when its a government organization, i hope this post office gets an overhaul and a lesson in service without he ebonics. Yes, im yelped off and if your here i know you are too (EDIT) Im giving one extra start because the delivery man in the truck was much nicer than the office and very easy to talk to, i feel bad for breaking out a knife and asking if i can open the package in front of him. The tellers here are not that attentive. It's always a long line here and it takes a while to move when you're on line. Last time I came here for my package, they could not locate my package even though it's at the location. It's just a hassle. EVERY time a package is shipped to me using USPS, all I get is a notice saying that they attempted delivery and I was not at home. What's the matter? They can't press the doorbell that is positioned 6 inches from the mailbox? They can drop in the notice, but they can't ring the bell? So then it's a 30-minute freak show at the postal office as customer hurl obscenities at the indifferent postal workers. I despise this office, as does each person that is forced to stand in line with me. I strongly suspect that they have no intention of delivering parcels. I believe they go out with a bunch of notices pre-filled and simply drop them into mailboxes, rather than delivering the parcels. One of these days when I am home waiting, I will catch them. But then what? Who do I complain to? What difference will it make? This is why the USPS needs to go away. Out with the old, and bring in people with a work ethic. read more

This is the worst post office I've ever been to. They left a pick up slip on 12/12. I requested redelivery on 12/14 for 12/15. A couple days go by and I still didn't receive my package. I ended going to the post office to find out what the issue was. Turns out they marked my package as unclaimed and sent it back to the sender. We have 15 days to claim the package. There is no one alive capable of infuriating me to the extent at which they do. I am home. As well as my boyfriend. He receives his package, and I ask the carrier if they have a package for me. He says no, but there is another truck en-route. I smile and immediately take down a note stating what buzzer to ring (even this is listed in my shipping address.. they are incompetent). 20 minutes later I check the status of my delivery. And much to my amazement, they CLAIMED to make an attempt and left a notice... at the SAME TIME WE RECEIVED OUR OTHER DELIVERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was no notice. Nothing.... I imagine that this is what government service must have been like in Russia back when it was the USSR. Rundown building, dirty and woefully dated: check. Miserable and incompetent staff: check. Blatant incompetence and indifference: check. So, I received a package via USPS, wasn't home and got a slip for pick-up. Bad sign number one: they spelled the address of the post office wrong on the slip. This wasn't just a slip of the pen. The address is printed on the slip. Yup, that's right. The post office can't spell the address of one of its branches. The place is fairly empty; go to pick-up window and get in line. No one at the window. Two other clerks free. The man in front of me says that the clerk at pick-up saw him, but then went in the back. We wait, and wait, and wait. He goes to one of the not busy clerks. She gets his package from the back. But when she sees me ready to ask for my package, says that this isn't her job...now not only does the bureaucrat refuse to help me, she won't give the guy his package which is sitting on the other side of the glass! As we wait for the supervisor to appear, a man comes in and says that he received a package at his house, and it isn't his. They clearly blame him, insinuating he changed his mind. Maybe. But with how they get things done...I bet he got someone else's package. Finally, the supervisor appears. He seems completely overwhelmed, and not even a little apologetic that his staff has been so inattentive. One leaves with the sense that the staff at this branch figures the USPS is shutting down anyway, so why bother... read more

Wow, all these 1 star reviews and i can say i agree 110%! The service here sucks big time. There is one chinese lady who is soo horrible , she will yell at you if you put the on the package wrong like i mean stick it wrong on the package and everyone can hear her loud voice. She was so rude and disgusting , i feel so awful that they would hire people like this , because many loving people need jobs out there and these jobs go to people like this , its so disappointing. There is also no supplies here ( i guess thats not uncommon for usps ) but still no pens, no envelopes outside, no tape , not one single thing. Worst experience ever at a post office. I made an 11:45 passport appointment for my infant and once we arrived at 11:30 as requested before our appointment, we knew it would be bad because there were customers waiting on line and along the bench. There is no clear direction or place to go but after asking a lady, she said someone would come out to us, but that never happened. After realizing window 1 was working on passports, we waited on the side until our appointment time, which was when I then went up to the window to ask about it. I told her I had all my documents ready to drop off, which I knew would be quick because my branch used to do it, but she still insisted I look at the form she gave me to make sure we had everything, which I already had, and then she proceeded to tell us with attitude that she was behind schedule and that she had to take the people on line with mail to drop off first because it looks bad to management that there were so many people waiting. She then yelled at us that we had to take a seat and not wait near her and when I said there were no seats available (I had a baby and toddler), she proceeded to yell even louder and with more attitude that it didn't matter, we had to move to the back towards the door and just stand over there, which was where there was a crowd of people and we would be blocking the door, which makes no sense when there was plenty of room where we were standing. Some people had been waiting for passport appointments since 10, I discovered. Oh, and it was stifling hot like an oven so everyone was sweating. There was also an extremely long line for picking up packages, which I didn't understand because the guy who was manning that kept coming out to ask the people on line to drop off packages if they needed help. Clearly, the people who needed help were the passport and pick up people but they seemed to only care about the people dropping off. We waited for an hour before I finally realized our appointment wasn't happening today because they close in half an hour and there were still the same three people ahead of me. I wish they would have told us to reschedule up front instead of making us wait wasting our time, especially when I had a baby with me. I heard it took two hours for the lady to go through five appointments and many complained that they wish the asian lady who used to do it was still there. Awful branch and will be making our rescheduled appointment elsewhere. Luckily, we aren't in a rush to get our baby's passport. read more

I recently had three packages I ordered from Amazon returned to sender because they said it was a bad address. That is impossible because my address is saved on Amazon.com and I received the package with no issue after it was returned and I reordered it shipped to the same address. There must be a new or newly disgruntled employee there who doesn't care. Or someone is being lazy and finding no one home, decides to return the package to sender rather than leave a note and reattempt delivery the next day. I recently paid for Amazon prime and this repeated annoyance is making switch to delivery to an Amazon locker otherwise what is the point of paying for two day shipping if it takes me four days to get my stuff? read more

NO ONE has any idea what they're doing. my building has 24/7 package acceptance office, yet, they drop off 2 packages and leave a note for a 3rd ON THE SAME DAY. so i reschedule the delivery on the phone. no package. i reschedule online. no package. i call the the post office, the phone is always busy, no one answers. i call the usps 800 #, says no customer service is available ALL day today. This place is so bad that they send my package to another person! I mean wtf! how can they fuck up and say they didn't see my address. They been coming to me for a long time and I went to the post office to see what's going on and this shitty lady comes up with a stank ass attitude and didn't want to check if my package is still in the post office. The guy told me to come back today and check and she's like well it's not here and hands back the paper like i'm a shit! these guys really need to get facts straight and not be dickheads. Also if they see the line is so huge going out the door then get a second body and get the people out fast. Well where to start first off its extremely hot in there with no air at all. You walk in and only one window for pick up of packages and each one takes about 5-10 min which tells me lack of organization and lack of work ethic in order to make the packages more accessible with much faster speed. Now secondly when you do miss a package try get a redelivery go online fill out there form and you know what they don't bring it the next day. So now I fill out the form 3 times In order to make sure they bring it the next day. Couple months ago I waited 30 min for my package in order for them to say they lost it and they need there supervisor to look for it or declare it lost. Luckily they found it. SERIOUSLY I STOPPED ORDERING FROM ANYONE WHO USES THE USPS IN ORDER TO AVOID HEADACHES. And for Amazon I order it to a locker 7/11 in order for it to be delivered. Everything is a mess there passport , the phone is never picked up and when they do they don't want to do anything. And finally it was snowing yesterday and I was inside all day and the delivery guy didn't bother to ring the door bell or leave a notice anywhere. I checked my cameras and he didn't even drive buy during the specified time. Are you kidding me. It's truly unbelievable and really hate when i can't avoid using usps. Hopefully staples will be able to get more control of usps in order for these post office either close down or improve. Lines are shorter, and the employees are so very, very nice. Lovely neighborhood feel at Dyker - Bath Beach is an abject disgrace. Wish I could give a negative rating. This is the ONLY post office that I have been in that does not have a place to drop off prepaid packages, which sucks because it is the closest one to where I live. I usually have to resort to bringing my amazon shippments with me to work and dropping them elsewhere to avoid the painfully long line just to hand them something that has already been paid for. ALSO... I NEVER EVER NEVER get ANY packages from them. I could be sitting in my house for an entire day (on days that I am off) and when I go out to check my mail, I will see the slip in my mailbox that they "attempted" to deliver to me. Well If i was home why didn't I ever hear the doorbell ring? how do you expect to deliver a package when you do not ring my doorbell - which is labeled with my name AND apartment number? I have all packages sent from USPS sent to a relatives house and just pick it up from them, much easier. don't have this problem with UPS deliveries, and they usually leave the package for me when I am not home as well (i leave a note telling them to please leave it, with the tracking number on the note), which is a plus read more

A bunch of slow a-holes work here. The lines aren't even that long, but the people behind the counters just take their pretty time to get anything done. They type slow, walk slow and they are very rude to the customers. For instance, I spent almost 15 minutes on the line just to pick up a package. There were only 2 people in front of me. The guy behind the counter walked VERY SLOWLY to the back room, completely disappear and come back minutes later. One of the black guy supervisor/manager there has an especially bad attitude. He was yelling at the poor customers because they just want to drop off their prepaid packages. We paid for your services to get yelled at, WTF? How about adding more drop-off bins so people don't have to beg like dogs for you to open the door and let them drop off their stuff? Anybody will lose patience over these people. It's like their retirement jobs. I wish there is an easy way to get their names, report them and get them all fired. read more

The following three helpful USPS hint is thus brought to you by the number 5 and the letter S: Want to actually speak to a human on the phone at USPS customer service? Make friends with the 0 button on your phone/screen. Dial 1-800-275-8777 until 8 PM on weekdays and sit on that 0 button all day. Don't believe a word of what you hear each time you press it. Repeat less than 25 times until you hear what you want, and expect a 20 minute hold. When you get to the post office be as friendly with the staff as you are with that 0 button, and, unlike so many other yelpers, you just may get what you want, and you'll certainly get it faster than you would otherwise. It sucks for you if you ever have to pick up mail here. I would give no stars if that was even possible. Avoid this place if you can. Waited 35 mins just to be attended to. But other customers were attended to first because they who were also purchasing other things. So I'm to wait and be on the bottom of the priority list if I'm just picking up some mail and not buying anything? What's with that discrimination???? I was about to ask when we will be attended to but there was another person behind me who asked a few times instead. The woman who seemed to be in charge gave him the same response, "soon" or "after the next customer is done." 6 customers that were "purchasing customers" that came after me were attended to before me and done in less than 2 minutes. I always come to this office to drop prepaid packages. The drop box is frequently full and doesn't open. The last 2 windows were closed. At this unprecedented time, the employees should keep windows open so the customers do not have to stand in line and reduce the chance of getting sick. The customers should be able to leave their packages in the windows. There were about 10 customers standing in line close to each other. When I asked the employee to open the window so we can leave our packages (there were more customers with prepaid packages in line) she screamed something with her heavy accent so I didn't even understand what she meant. Never got up to open the window. All three of them never moved in spite the customers were seemingly upset. Finally, after I started ringing the bell at the door, one of them decided that she can open the window so I can leave the package. Employees are rude and disrespectful. Colonoscopies. Paying taxes. Root canals. Going to the post office. All things we have to do in life, along the lines of dying and paying taxes. This place is a horror. It's a very tiny space compared to other post office showrooms in the area. Lines linger for hours on end sometimes, with indifferent bureaucrats getting their rocks off watching the helpless masses on the other side of the glass struggle to be served and move on with our lives. Interestingly, most who work are are Chinese, and English is not their primary language. These green newcomers seem to primarily care about helping their own kind, who come to the post office with sacks and sacks of parcels being shipped all over the world for various enterprises of dubious legality. These massive dropoffs result in the lines meandering around the corner sometimes, and are really unfair to those of us who are just there to pick up our packages. Furthermore, you hear every tongue other than English being spoken here, adding to the frustration. I've discovered that the mailmen are generally apathetic and lazy, and rather than bother to, G-d forbid, knock on your door or ring your bell, they'd rather just take the more convenient way out for themselves and leave a pink slip. You have to wake up early on your only day off in order to brave the hoarding masses here to just get your darn package, and when you survive to tell the tale, you rue the day you have to return to this hellhole. I'm pretty sure Dante had this place in mind when he was writing the Inferno. read more
