Eh. This is definitely far from my fave location but not awful. It's okay. I know much better, and I know much worse. For reference, I do e-sales so I pretty much almost exclusively come here to drop packages off if i find myself in the neighborhood which isn't that often, but often enough to access the quality of this location. I wouldn't recommend this as the first place to go to if it can be avoided, but not that bad if all you have to do is drop packages off. I think that's why the workers have never been rude to me. On Saturdays they enforce the rules of two lines one package line and the other is mail/stamps.I have a package and so I stand in the second line for an employee that was being disrespectful when I told him I was on the second line for large packages. Pretty much 1 of the worse Post offices in NY/anywhere in the world. It's very dumpy and the people who work here are probably miserable and hate their jobs/lives, so they take it out on the customers. They won't give a receipt if you want to drop off 3 or more packages. They claim "scanning more than 3 items causes long lines." News flash...the line is always out the door, regardless if you have 1 package or 10. I lived in Brooklyn before moving to Queens for a short amount of time and recently moved back to Brooklyn. The lines were always insanely long before I left Brooklyn and now that I'm back, it seems that the lines only got longer. When I tried to explain to the not so pleasant teller Caesar about the labels I put on these packages (a 3rd party (i.e. NOT USPS) emails me the labels and I print them out), therefore I cannot put it on a "50 30 60" or whatever form he was telling me to use (I think he was referring to a manifest form) but I literally CAN NOT use a manifest form if I didn't get the shipping from USPS click and ship. I get it from a 3rd party and he decided to scream at me saying that "I must be hard of hearing since I'm not listening to him and am obviously wrong." I had this issue as well at a Queens location (which is dumpy but nothing compared to this wasteyard), so I called corporate to find out what the actual rule was and they said if I did not get my shipping from USPS click and ship, then I cannot use a manifest form and the clerk MUST scan all of my items, even if it's more than 3 packages. So I told Caesar that I'll call corporate to find out and he turns to his equally miserable colleagues "look at her trying to scare me by calling corporate." I told him I wasn't calling corporate to scare him but to find out what the rule is. He should've been more scared of not wearing his mask while working. While waiting on the long line for 20 minutes and being humiliated by him, he was not wearing a mask at all during the time I was there. If customers have to wear a mask to go into a post office, then post office workers should wear them too. This post office is the absolute worse and the lines are asinine. It's not the scanning of packages that causes the long lines. It's the incompetence of the people who work there. They don't show good customer service. They yell at people, voluntarily decide to not help people (while waiting 20 minutes on the long line, there was a woman who had a PO box closed, despite her showing proof that she paid for the year but they wouldn't help her!). Usually this post office is on point as far as if you need to pick up a package but the delivery guys need better training or just do not care about their jobs... Was suppose to be delivered a package today and the delivery guy rings the apt. # from the downstairs lobby. He gets let in by someone in the building. He ENTERS the building...I am standing at my door waiting....and waiting....and waiting for him to get off the elevator so he knows which direction to walk so I can sign for my package. I am waiting by the door for about 4-5 minutes now, looking through the peephole and thinking to myself "It definitely does not take this long to get to my floor."...so still waiting...the guy NEVER even made it to my floor to deliver the package. I have no idea if he went to another floor or just took an elevator ride and went back to his truck so I guess he can finish his shift for the day being that it is a Sunday so I am pretty sure he gets off early...Mind you no notice was left and on Sunday there is no customer service available to speak to or complain but rest assured on Tuesday they will hear from me regarding this because that is unacceptable service. No notice, no knock on the door and didn't even arrive on my floor to begin with...I saw the guy from the lobby surveillance cam from cable as well so I KNOW and SAW him enter the building with my package. Someone better have some answers for me come Tuesday...Better training and delivery workers are needed for this post office! Dirty place can't give receipt for more than 3 packages they claim it takes to much time. Everything is an ordeal never found that in any other post office only in Canarsie branch. The people at the window seem to try hard but after speaking to the supervisor dont know his name, I realized why the place runs like crap. I suggest have the supervisor spend a couple of days at another location and see how a post office should run. If you can call and get through, let me know, I've tried calling they have a strict no picking up policy. Since they never pick up the phone people go down to the office which makes the lines very long. Unprecedented theft at this location. I have informed delivery so i know what to expect & my mail is routinely missing or delivered 3-4 days later. I have a doorbell cam so I see what days they deliver on my street, anyone walking by trips the motion sensor so i would see if they had no mail for me and moved on to my neighbors. There are days where no mail is delivered to anyone on my street. It makes no sense. This place needs new management, very unprofessional. read more

Hey Post Master I filled out a moving form at this post office. So where is my mail? It isn't at my old address and it isn't at my new address. The form was completed correctly and handed to a female who works inside this facility. I did this the first week of December. So where is my mail? Canarsie post office on Flatlands in Brooklyn is the worst post office in the entire system of the USPS. I am only giving them a star because i am unable to give them zero stars. I have been having issues with my packages going missing. During the holidays of 2012 SIX of my packages went missing! SIX. I filed a report, followed up, even got as far as consumer affairs. All that was a big waste of time. eventually I became friends with an agent and she started looking out for my packages. After that i had no issues up until she transferred to another post office in a different part of Brooklyn. A week later, my packages started going missing again. I go to the post office to speak with their supervisor, Clara who takes down the tracking number and all the relevant details and tells me she would investigate and call me back in 48 hours. I never receive a phone call. after 4 days i figure that was enough time to investigate so i head back to the post office. Clara has no idea what I am even talking about neither does she remember the details of my case. It was pretty obvious she never investigated. Instead, she tells me that since the package had been missing that long, she would advise that i contact the shipper and either ask for a refund or ask them to ship another item because my package was most likely lost. I was dumbfounded. I asked her why she couldn't just find out who was working that day and get answers from them, after all if you are paid to do a job and it is not done, you should be held responsible. She did not share my views. So i call consumer affairs once again and was told an agent would call me back in 72 hours. Eventually i speak with a representative ( i believe her name was Ms Hughes) who collects all my information and tells me she would investigate then call me back. She never does. I call back to find out what was going on with my case and was unable to reach her. Eventually I get a call from her saying that she is still working on the case. And then i never heard from her again. That package was never found. Now I just shipped a PREPAID package the Friday before the blizzard. The tracking number was already provided. The package was a priority 2 day shipment on the 21st but yet, 8 days later, there is no sign of it. The tracking online shows a different number than the one on the prepaid label and is dated the 22nd though i went to the post office on the 21st. but the address is the same. and it does not even show that the package arrived at the Post office, just that they received pre-shipment info. I tried calling but the waiting period to speak with an agent over the phone is longer than an hour. Ofcourse no one at the post office ever picks up and I am headed there today though i don't expect much help. My next course of action is to contact the inspector general. This has to stop! read more
