This has to be the slowest serving Post Office EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is ALWAYS a line no matter when you go. The workers who staff the windows are 100% NOT THE PROBLEM however. They (all of them) know their job, do it professionally and with much courtesy, however they DO NOT have enough workers. Usually 1, possibly 2 at most. This is definitely not their fault. I know it comes from the top however if you want people to use your service you have to make the wait tolerable for the public, USPS please understand you ARE NOT the only game in town any longer to have stuff delivered. read more

I live in California and try to send packages and mail to my family in Carmel, Ny and this post office either never delivers, delivers late or delivers to the neighbors and wants me to tell my family to go knock on neighbors doors looking for packages. When I visit, I see the postal driver drive up and down the street all day but finally delivers the mail late at night if at all. This is crazy! Once in a while I understand people make mistakes but on a constant weekly basis there are issues. The higher ups need to audit these employees. read more

The service is not good at this post office. I mailed a certified return receipt letter 2/15/19 to a resident in Carmel from the doctor's office. No status updates since 2/20/19. Don't know if the letter has been lost, or what. No answer at the post office itself. The wait time on the 800# is over 45 minutes. Yesterday, I tried to wait, but couldn't stay on the phone that long listening to the insipid music. read more

The most incompetent unprofessional post office and staff I have EVER encountered in my 57 years of life. For the past 6-9 months we've had missing mail. On no less than 10 occasions I have received my neighbors mail on both sides of me. I already have the USPS Informed Delivery service, email everyday on what is coming in today's mail. (But of course their excuse is not necessarily today's mail but within 48 hours). Here are the latest examples of their incompetence: December 22nd email states I was getting a very important county tax bill and other pieces of mail. Today is January 29th and still yet to receive all that mail. January 2nd, same thing. January 6th I filed my report, and no mail. I went into the Carmel post office on 3 occasions. Each time no one from management available to talk to me. I was asked to leave my information. I received ONE call back and that was 5 days later. No call backs from the other days. Another example, just yesterday I received an email stating I was receiving a package. The mail arrived no package. After I complained to the USPS national number, I received a call from someone from the Carmel location. This was approximately 6pm. He said oh don't worry the packages are being delivered by someone else and you will have it by 8pm. Well checked the mailbox this morning and nothing. You call the only local number they have on file and you never get anyone to pick up. Once a person by the name of Bob picked up and his quote to me was "I have no idea why USPS every created informed delivery because it is the biggest pain in the a**". Obviously it is a pain in the a** because you are being called out on your incompetence. And then they have the audacity to raise rates on everything. read more

This is the worst service that I ever have experienced. I have multiple mail pieces missing. Anytime fed ex or ups delivers to them, the item never shows up at my home. Throughout the Christmas holiday season almost all my packages were never received. It is imperative that anyone with missing mail pieces contact the main post office (800) 275-8777. If you complain at the Carmel location they only get rude and make comments such as "they are only humans" yeah humans that cost you lost items, money, and time. Always call the main number and file a claim. If they do not fix it escalate it to consumer affairs. In addition, I left a detailed email with Louis the SCS at this location expressing the ONGOING concern and I get an email back stating only "I cannot do anything without a tracking number" I left the tracking number in the email first of all. He blew off ALL the questions and concerns that I had that are effecting my households mail service. I am now waiting for my follow up call from the escalated department to review each mail piece throughout the past few months and I will be demanding to know if the issue is going to be corrected going forward. read more

This is a slow post office but when you get to the worker everything is done professionally and at a reasonable speed.

This is the worst post office in NYS. Get everyone else's mail but not mine, and when I returned errant mail to Carmel post office the idiot asked me if I was sure I was not the person on the envelope. Like a bad comedy this post office. Don't get packages sent to me but carrier insists he scanned them my mailbox while I'm standing there watching him not scan anything and then he doesn't know who he delivered the package to. Never answer the phone and not willing to resolve issues. Someone has my packages and I can only guess it may have been delivered to the carriers car trunk not my mailbox. Lazy sack of poop too lazy to drive up driveway and put it on porch or back door. This is night,are trying to get mail or packages. But they will retire after 20 years and get full pension and health benefits for life. Just great isn't it do nothing and gain plenty and cause havoc for everyone else. Yup let's charge more for stamps bc the post office needs it.. idiots read more
