Where does it all end? Another day, another lost package. I ordered 3 t-shirts over a month ago. I gave them some extra time to get here because of the time of year and then contacted the company. I was told they had arrived. Really? Then, where are they? Considering my history with mail delivery, I should have realized the company was correct when they told me they had been delivered.....just not to me. It became crystal clear tonight when there was a knock at my door and a neighbor handed me a very beat up package that she said was "jammed" into her mailbox. Terrible. Its 2 years later still getting mail delivered to wrong house. Neighbors are bringing packages down to my house all the time. It's the same guy from another country. You would think he knows the houses by now. Not friendly and literally doesn't pay attention to the address or just throws any package in a mail box. Last time i called and complained the manager said it shows on tracker he delivered to my house. I told her no he didn't. GPS tracker is wrong because my neighbor brought the package down after she said according to GPS it delivered to your house. This place is terrible. I literally want to move because of the post office. I'm missing a package that shows delivered in mailbox on 21st. Hope the neighbor walks it down, and no one stole it I have cameras. WORST EVER!!!!!!!!!! I never receive my mail even after receiving email notifications that packages etc were delivered. I have had mail labeled 'return to sender' notated by a postal worker on an item that I have been waiting on for over a month. The item has been returned TWICE without me even knowing until I called the sender as to why I haven't received it. It is utterly ridiculous! If it were possible to give negative ratings, I'd do it, absolutely!! I've lived in quite a few cities both large and small, but never have I ever experienced such inefficiently run post office. I cannot relate here all the mishaps that I've incurred since I moved here in July of 2019. Briefly, I do not receive mail at least 2 days a week, despite having the USPS's "Informed Delivery " notification. I can't count the number of packages I have not received even though the Supervisor stated that they knew where they were delivered because of the GPS system they have in place. Just today, I was expecting 2 packages but the only thing in my mailbox was a neighbor's package 4 doors away. Other mail due today is missing. One package sent from Cordova was never scanned so we could track it. It was an important business package, but the supervisor said she had no idea where it went, but laid the blame on a mail center elsewhere. The package did arrive three and a half weeks later, unannounced. And the list goes on and on. My personal opinion is that most of the delivery people don't care at all about your mail and only want a paycheck. In addition, I don't think most can read. It's too bad this branch of the government can't be privatized. Competition would create efficiency and lower fees for mail service. Overall, the Cordova post office is a dismal failure. read more

If you want attention from an employee, use the self-kiosks. It's amazing how helpful one female employee in the lobby tries to be as opposed to those behind the counter. Also, if you're in the market for a PO Box, look elsewhere. Every year since 2015 mine has gone up, and I'm not talking a few bucks. The increases: $12, $30, $14, & now another $20. This review is being written after my 3rd phone call to the Cordova USPS office; today I spoke to Stefanie/Stephanie, who kept interrupting me when I called to complain that twice within a four-day period I had to chase down our carrier as he still had packages which he did NOT deliver - I knew these were onboard thanks to the USPS email notifications I receive. I just found out that, after I talked directly to the letter carrier, and she guaranteed that all my mail would be forwarded after that date, that an important piece of mail from a bank (mailed after I talked to the letter carrier) was NOT forwarded. Or if it was forwarded it's taking over two weeks to get here. This letter concerned a significant amount of money, and not getting the letter is resulting in a significant delay. Time is money! I'm sorry that the lowest rating Yelp will allow me to give is 1 star. A negative number would be more accurate. read more

0/26/18 The manager is extremely discourteous in a manner that needs addressing immediately. The Amazon tracking posted that my package labeled to mail to the Cordova post office had been sent somewhere else, at my request. Together we called customer service where Mike (USPS) was very rude and said. "Nothing I can do. Ill give you the post office number." Line continuously busy. When I went into the post office, the staff was so kind. They were diligent in trying to help. I asked what the complaint process was. They said the manager will walk you thru it. I left my number for the manager to call who they told me at 1:30 had gone to lunch and would be back around 4. When I arrived at 5, I asked the manager to please find my package and give me a written copy of the complaint process. Was told your package want arrive till Saturday and you will have to wait to get it. I asked again for the complaint process. She began to shout loudly, "I'm through with you. I'm not talking to you any more. Get off this property. This is government property." When I recanted I am government property and the whole nation is disturbed about mailing and bombs today. She said"I will call the police on you to have you removed." I called the police in their presence because the manager moved out of site. The police told me to get her supervisors number and report her. Needless to say this situation was escalated in an unprofessional manner. I am totally dismayed. I wish I could give this US Post Office zero stars! They are absolutely horrible, unprofessional, and some of them must be mildly mentally challenged. I did a TEMPORARY mail forward, received a printed out receipt/notice from the USPS stating my temporary mail forward. I have been home going on 3 weeks and have NOT gotten one piece of my damned mail!!! I have spoken to one of the workers in this post office this week about it and showed her all of my documentation all to no avail. She stated she will leave a "note" for the female carrier who is my route carrier. I am filing a complaint with the US Inspector Generals Office on the lousy illiterate lazy individuals. read more

I do not trust this postal office and neither should you. My package is missing and I am assuming that it was stolen by one of the workers. It never was scanned as being in USPS possession after UPS dropped it off on 2/20/20. UPS has updated their tracking to show they dropped it off, so, where is my package? Absolutely ridiculous. I will be making a formal complaint with OIG next. This is just sad! You can't even trust the people who handle your mail. I wish the business who shipped my package hadn't used UPS Surepost or this would never have happened!!!! Edit: 2/23/20 I believe they have stolen my package. Don't trust them! This place really is the worst for service. There are better locations around town so if you're going to mail something, give this location a miss. First, there's the lobby area. There are two self-service kiosks, great. If you wanna mail something, you can skip the line. The problem is (and I assume this is nation-wide so I'm not giving them a miss because of this) you can't get the media mail rates or any of the other cheaper postage options, you have to go up to the counter. Ugh. But flat rate and stuff like that, it's infinitely better to use the kiosk than wait in line. But oddly, they sealed off one of the slots to drop off mail, leaving only one for boxes. It says you can't put envelopes in there, but the envelope slot has been sealed off so uh...what, am I supposed to go outside and mail it? No. But the problem? People will see their box doesn't quite fit and shove it in there anyway. So before when it got jammed, there was another alternate if you were mailing something smaller. Now, whether you're mailing a postcard or a PS4, you can only use that one slot and once it's jammed, you're screwed. Now you gotta go inside and wait in line. Why? There's no place inside the counter area to just drop off a box or anything else, you've got to wait there and either wait to be seen or hope someone will announce they'll accept stuff to be dropped off. Pretty annoying that dropping off a box with postage already on it could potentially take 15 minutes - and often does because the drop-off area in the lobby gets jammed, or will just get full. Then there's the employees at the counter. One or two of them are nice, the rest are just awful. And if you don't have something you need with you and have to run out to the car and get it, or grab some form? To the end of the line with you! You might get one who will be "nice" and let you skip the line and come back to them, but you'll still have to wait behind someone else...pretty irritating since you've already had to wait in line once. One time I got a notice on my door saying they "attempted" delivery (read: the guy just walked up to my house and put a notice on it because not once did I hear the doorbell ring or someone knock...anyway) and it would be available at the post office. So I grab the notice and head over to the post office...I get waved to go to some indeterminate place to check a computer (??) to see if it's in the post office or not. Isn't that their job? I'd already checked and the kiosks wouldn't help with that, so I was left wondering where exactly I was supposed to go. Those are the only "computers" that the customers can use, there's no self-service machine inside the counter area. This still baffles me to this day as even though I've been in there countless more times, I still have no idea where this computer was that I was supposed to use to check on my package's status. (It wasn't even any computer in general, as checking the tracking number on their website didn't tell me if it was back at the post office or out for delivery.) read more

1. This branch is the only post office I've been to in which the people behind the counter move slower than the DMV. It once took 10 minutes to verify my ID to cash a money order. 2. I get an immediate attitude every time I'm there from the old slow lady that needs to retire and give someone that gives a shit about moving the queue along. I've almost had to call police to deal with her incompetence in refusing to do her job. 3. They recently had a package sent to them from New Jersey that was supposed to then come to my address. This location instead decided to immediately put it on a plane to Los Angeles California, where my package is now. Instead of at my door in Cordova. It was supposed to arrive on Jan 25th, and it's now the 30th. It's in California. I know I could go in there and demand a refund for the shipping I paid, but they'll refuse, and it will take an hour and a half to stand in line to be told that their incompetence and negligence of their job performance is protected by law. Worst post office or at least the WORST mail carriers ever! I can't count how many times packages and or envelopes that were CLEARLY too big to be placed ( forced/ shoved until it fits) in my mail box (standard size). The carrier(s) obviously are too lazy to walk a package to the front door. If a package is marked " do not bend" rest assured it will be bent! No respect for anyone's mail or their own job. May seem petty but after numerous items being damaged I felt the need to review. Management evidently has no concern for how the carriers treat people's mail/ packages. I went to this post office to pick up mail on hold and was refused service from an employee. She did not bother to get a full understanding of the situation. After she talked rudely to me and tried to insist my mail was with the carrier, I asked to speak to a supervisor. She told me to step aside and never called the supervisor then proceeded to discuss me with other patrons. I then asked another worker to get the supervisor. Long story short my mail was in the back and the rude worker called me a liar and was just psychotic in her verbal comments about my mail not really being on hold. Someone really needs to look into this. The worker really scared me because her over reaction and aggressive rudeness did not fit the situation . I will never go in there again. The Cordova, Tennessee post office is NOT efficient at all. I have stood in line for over 30 minutes in there with a teller at every station and they all take their time and they talk to one another and they go back in the back and take their time back there. It amazes me every time I go in there that they still have the same employees who are wasting time. It appears they are only there to get a pay check. When I mail off items from there that I have prepaid for at home, they sometimes take 2 days to scan them into their system and sometimes they do not get scanned in at all. When I check online, it shows the item is on its way too its destination and has NOT been scanned into the Cordova post office system, only scanned in somewhere along the route by some other post office along my packages destination. There is only one postal worker in there who smiles and is friendly to everyone no matter what color or race you are. The rest of the workers act like you are inconveniencing them by coming into their place of work. I realize non of these postal employees are spring chickens, but if they are unable to efficiently do their jobs and in a timely manner, and with a smile on their face, then they need to be reassigned jobs in the back where they do not have to deal with the general public. I understand their job has the potential to be stressful, but I have very rarely seen a stressful situation in this post office, and I am in there at least 3 times a week. They need employee training on how to smile and be friendly and on how to do their jobs more efficient. read more

DO NOT TRUST this post office; they steal.....at Christmas had a certified envelope sent to my sons and since no one was home to sign for it, the envelope was routed back to and "signed in" at the post office for pickup. When my son went in to sign for it they "couldn't find it." It had checks and $150 cash in it. I had numerous calls to and from the post office and postal service but all to no avail. Envelope postage vs package postage. I have been mailing 7.5 x 4.75 padded envelopes using the USPS postage calculator. I select letter, since it is an envelope, add the zip codes and the weight of 3 oz. I also select rigid letter. Postage due is $1.00. I have been mailing these envelopes many times using this calculator supplied by the USPS. The last two sent were returned with $.30 postage due. I took it to the counter to ask what it really due. The clerk said $1.30 for a letter, but $3.68 for a package. She asked a clerk next to her if it was a letter or package. She was told it is a package. I left the area and placed the additional $30 on the letters which were returned again, but with $2.38 postage due. I showed the letters to a retired USPS District Supervisor who said they were indeed a letter and not a package. I have two complaints. The USPS online calculator differs with the USPS clerks calculator. Secondly, the clerks at this station can not distinguish an envelope from a package. I could have sent the item via a box through USPS using eBay postage cheaper than the this station wanted to charge for the letter. I went ahead and took the item out of the padded letter and mailed using a regular envelope and placed $1.00 postage. It when through fine. Some employees at this station are not in sync with the USPS universal guidelines. Oh, I have mailed the same padded letters using only $.85 postage using the USPS online calculation and have not had them returned. They too would have been returned for postage due based upon a package if I had handed them to the clerk to determine the correct postage. read more

I have had the problem of not getting all of my mail delivered as to where it goes don't know. At first I just thought it was new postal carriers but now I think differently.I called them and spoke with some one that was a supervisor and he said he would look into it, took my address and that was that. Well I get a call from my Doctors office months later telling me that my mail came back "not deliverable", I asked her to make sure everything was correct as for as name and address and she said it was. I called and asked if I could speak with a supervisor and he said very abruptly that he was, I told him that I was having problems with my mail again and asked why mail would be returned marked "not deliverable"?, he was obviously annoyed by his tone and was very snappy with me as to why this would happen. I asked him if I could speak with someone else in a supervisory position because I felt that this was a huge problem for him to address, he told me that he was the Post Master E.C. and didn't have time to chase other people around for me to talk to!!! I was by then very irritated and told him that I would find someone above him that could help me. All I want is my mail! this has been going on for 3yrs and I tried to be nice about it but not now.I am thinking I will just have to get a PO box. read more

You can be standing in line with obvious packages loaded in your arms, and the employees will be chit-chatting with a friend that walked in, or putting lotion on their hands, or acting like they are busy and won't look up... Knowing people are waiting and have been for a while. They never smile, they're like robots and they won't help you with a single thing except do the basic of what is required. Please do yourself a HUGE FAVOR and go to the next parking lot over to the UPS store. On a Saturday morning, at 10am (one of the busiest times they will ever see) there are TWO agents available. One is indisposed helping someone with a passport, so in reality there is only one available booth. I needed to send a package,a pair of shoes (a completely normal sized item) and OF COURSE there were no appropriate sized packing materials to get the job done. When I inquired how I could ship my item, I got a nasty look, like I should have an array of shipping materials readily available in my home at all times. I asked again how I could get my item shipped, and when she looked at me and said nothing I finally asked if I should go somewhere else. She stated "maybe you should". I will NEVER set foot in there ever again. This is the exact reason the post office is struggling. Absolutely terrible customer service. I would have given a zero if there had been an option for it. We have the most disrespectful carrier possible. Why is it so hard for postal workers to do their job? I manager a business and unfortunately we have a male carrier that thinks he can do what he wants, when he wants. Today he came in the office and his phone was playing music.....and I know this how? Because it was playing loudly. I asked him to turn the volume down and he did not. On his way out (we had customers in the office) I asked him again. His response was: Well you play music in the office, so why can't I? Let him know our music was part of the office and his was not. He told me that was too bad. I let him know he was unprofessional and I was going to report him to the post office. His response was: Go ahead, I don't care....in fact if you need the number I'll give it to you. Told me he would even wait while I made the call. I told him to leave our office and not come back. Once again his response was, "Whatever". I tried calling the local office and had to use an 800# and the wait time was 40 - 50 minutes. read more
