There is only one counter open with a very long line. it's just hard to believe that there are no employees at this post office.

So sometimes we take things for granted, and the services provide by our post office in El Paso tends to be one of them. Some folks that live here think we are in the outer limits of the solar system, but let me just say this- our post office has a lobby open 24/7 so you can mail mail and packages and get stamps. My family lives in upstate New York and they do not have this service! If you don't get to the PO on time, you are out of luck! If I could give zero stars I would. I stopped here about my mom's mailbox 2 weeks ago and it is still not fixed. So I stopped in today, and it was very busy. There was a separate line for packages and issues and I was in that line. While waiting more people came in and then a "manager" said to get in the main line. A lady was there and butted in front of line and got ahead. I told her there was a line but she lied about her reason. So while I was in the main line, this lady who came I after me was served and left before I was even seen. Better planning needs to be made and classes need to be taught to managers. Of all the cities I have ever lived in I have NEVER had so many things lost as I have with the EL PASO POST OFFICE. I purposely take my mail elsewhere to mail it because of the haphazard way they handle mail in this city! It is ridiculous! I have lived at the same address for 10 years and filed at least 3 complaints against the PO for delivering the former owner of my house mail at my address! This is after I contacted people in Austin and they contacted the manager at Remcon! I used to be an avid USPS believer but because of the mistakes and mishandling of mail here I this city I have lost faith! If I go into the building itself: 1.) It has NO supplies 2.) There is most likely a line unless by the grace of the Gods you struck it just right. 3.) The kiosk bin is more than likely jammed or full. Or wont print and you have to stand in line anyway. 4.) They have lost your package that you didn't get a tracking number on because it was a return and cost less than $50.00. And now you are S.O.L. (*hit out of luck) 5.) You wanted to talk to someone about your mail carrier leaving huge divits in front of you mailbox because he takes off like a jet after he leaves the wrong mail in your mailbox. Then you have to wait an hour or two in the side line for a half door to open then dodge people coming and going then wait for other people to "cut" in because they" just had to drop this thing off" or the manager gets called to the front..so, four hours later you leave. There cannot be any worse service than this post office (or, maybe there can but I haven't experienced one worse than this.) We and our neighbors do the work of the delivery person. It feels like he randomly puts items to random mailboxes. We deliver the goods to appreciate address in the area. Many many times Amazon tracking shows that items had been delivered to the mailbox, but we never received the items. Amazon refunds the money but it is a hassle for us and probably a loss of the business owner who is using the Amazon storefront. Ah, the post office. There's something about going to a post office that has a bit of a nostalgic feel to it. Like finding a malt shop or better yet, a pharmacy that also serves malts. But as far as I'm aware post offices have never served malts (maybe a way to step up your game, guys). On one hand I understand all of these seemingly unimaginable 1 star reviews, on the other had I sort of understand Patrick O.'s 4 star, and on the other other hand (in this scenario I have three hands, the third is actually where my left foot should be, but I had a Fantastic 4 freak accident and now my only super power is that when explaining things I have an "other other" hand) I feel like this post office does all right in person. I cannot stress "in person" enough. I've been to this post office a couple of times and have fallen under this post office jurisdiction (don't try to buy stamps in the wrong jurisdiction, they take this stuff pretty serious... kidding) for a while now. The mailman that actually delivers stuff in my current area is alright, but sometimes I get the feeling they're falling behind on some things so he/she cuts corners any way they can. Prime example would be as recently as last week. Last week we noticed we weren't receiving any mail. Not even those ads and coupons everyone just throws away once seeing. We had set up a change of address for August 21st (wasn't even August when we stopped receiving mail) so we thought that can't have anything to do with it, but then shortly after a little card with the word "VACANT" written across it appeared in our mailbox. As if the mailman could just make us disappear to lessen his workload (okay, I don't really think that's why he did it, but what the hell, man?). We made a trip down to our appointed post office and they gave us every reason why that card would of shown up in our mailbox, but none that made sense. At one point they even tried to say we left mail in our box too long which we had to ask something along the lines of "Two days is too long?" My boyfriend checks the mail religiously... he's waiting for his check from a long lost uncle or aunt that leaves millions to him because they're ashamed they never reached out to him when they were alive, but they did keep tabs on him and are extremely happy with all his success in life. Eventually we found out that "our mail stopped because of the change of address". It didn't actually get forwarded to the new address, but it just stopped. How do I know it didn't get forwarded? Because they had all of our mail at the post office. I checked multiple times and our change of address was set for August 21st so I'm not entirely sure how that wasn't conveyed properly to the mailman. The guy we spoke with was nice enough to correct all these wrongs and we all had a nice little convo while he was working away so A+ in the customer service department. You know, I'd even go as far to say A++ in the customer service department because when a lady tried to jump in front of us in line he politely let her know he'd be helping us out first and she could back the hell up (okay he didn't say that last part) which is why I totally understand where Patrick O. is coming from. But at the same time, all these 1 stars have a point... the way this post office (more so the mailmen that make the delivers) works is a bit wonky. It's not an awful post office, but it isn't necessarily smooth sailing either. The good news is they'll right any wrongs and will try not to piss you off any further in the process. read more

Incredibly unprofessional. Front office staff does everything they possibly can to get you to go away without doing any work. Unfortunately it's the only one I can go to. I've been in 3 times trying to get my keys to get my mail. And each time I've been in i get a different story of why they aren't ready or I can't get them. I'm unable to get my mail and they C. Honestly the worst service. They didn't respond to my inquiry until a day after they should of, and I had to e-mail them again before getting a call. They were sarcastic and not helpful. The post office returned my order back to sender and didn't even know why or explain to me why it was sent back. It has also taken a very long time to return to sender and no one can tell me why. It is such common knowledge that this branch intentionally makes folks wait in the "Dutch" door line, that it would be comical if not so frustrating that you have to wait for a full hour. Folks inside can have no customers, and the branch manager still explicitly prevents them from helping all of us in line. Perhaps it is to discourage people picking up packages in person, but this is why people flee for FedEx or UPS. Good afternoon, I ordered keys for 1707 N Stanton mailbox #13 about 2 months ago and they have still not been made. I have gone into your post office several times including today only to be told that you all are understaffed, that no one has time to make the keys, and that there is no number or anything for me to even call to ask when the keys will be ready. It is inconsiderate of people's time and unprofessional of your staff to be giving this type of service and not even providing an option to call to check in on keys. Okay. If you are going to do anything at this post office you need an hour of time to spend waiting in line. I think the only thing that doesn't take time is outside drop off - and even then that might go according to plan. One time, I saw a guy come in and deposit a package in the package depository only to see it get stuck in the receptor. The postal employees made him wait for 30 minutes only to be told to leave and they will "unstick" it later. Earth and time stand still in this place. Ordered a x mas gift for kids. Delivery was scheduled for November 30. Tracking indicated the mail man said there was an animal issue. That's funny the dog was inside all day. Tracking also stated it would be delivered the next day. Now 8 days later still no delivery. I have been there twice and my wife once. They claim they cannot find it. Tracking still states they have. On 11/21 we were home all day and we were expecting a package. No package came and tracking said 'notice left' but there was no notice-not in our door and not in the mailbox. We even looked through the yard to see if it had blown out of the door ( they usually put the notice in the door jam) I went to the post office and they could not find it. They asked us to give it a few days to see if it turned up. It has been 4 days and tracking still says notice left. This package has signature confirmation ( which I ask for on all packages because they have lost several of my other packages but tracking says delivered so it screws me over) Anyway, had to file a claim because they lost a signature confirmed package and the manager just shrugged and said they probably left out on the wrong doorstep. What a waste of tax dollars. This usps needs a serious over haul. I'm not expecting much too come from this claim either. read more

They said I owed $6.75 MORE even though I had already paid in full at the counter and had it cleared TWICE! They are literally robbing me. Glad to see that the Post Office on Remcon has a Yelp page! I've have used postal facilities all around the US and I've never seen anything like the Remcon post office. The lines are always long and I've had numerous packages lost or broken from being shipped there. I recently sent a box of CDs and cassettes to a client via Media Mail and they are now asking my client to pay additional postage because CDs and cassettes are not media even though the USPS website clearly states they are. Everyone should file complaints against this office and contact Congressman O'Rourke's office about this circus. The only saving grace for the Remcon office is my postman. He is excellent. read more

Wow. No love for the PO by almost everybody here! Must be something about the uniform that prompts a primal sense of anger in dogs and humans alike. Personally, as someone who has been an active ebay seller in the past, and uses amazon for purchases on nearly a weekly basis, I prefer the USPS over the other two options by a loooong way. Sure, they're not perfect- no bigass bureaucracy is, whether it's government run or not; and I'm pretty sure a previous mailman spitefully reported me to the cops for my car being parked "illegally" after my dog got loose once and chased him down the street...but she was just wanting to play. With his bones. But I digress... I've sent and received hundreds of packages through USPS. None have ever gotten lost or damaged. FedEx has lost my stuff before; UPS has damaged my stuff before, and God forbid you have to go pick something up from UPS- that's a nightmare on a different scale unless you're fond of speeding all the way across town before their deadline and then standing in a parking lot in the freezing rain for half an hour. At least when picking up a package from the post office you get to be inside, warmed by the steaming tempers of the other people in line, with Neil Diamond jauntily singing Sweet Caroline over the speaker system. I suspect the main problem with the PO is us- the residents they serve. I've waited in that line at Remcon a hundred times so I've had lots of time to observe. What I see is people trying to send off half-torn boxes, boxes without tape, poorly taped, double-sided tape (really??), overstuffed envelopes, crazily written addresses, addresses to Narnia, etc... people trying to pick up packages with no i.d., the wrong address on the i.d., people at the wrong PO! All of that nonsense takes time to fix and makes the wait longer and chances of lost packages greater. Go in there with your stuff in order and a properly packed parcel and you'll spend, literally, less than a minute sending it to its destination with confidence that it will arrive. And also feel free to not talk/complain to me about the wait if we're in line together (attractive women excepted). I'm trying to write yelp reviews on my phone while we wait. read more

If you have to pick up mail at the "Dutch doors" as the workers call them. Be sure to know that if it's a young male employee, he will be flirting and you will wait hours in line one or two has been my luck. Depending on the employee and day so far you will not get much help or information. I submitted a hold mail request for thirty day at the Dutch doors, using a yellow slip. Thirty days latter mail was not held, according to a manager the other employee decided not to submit it and this "tends to happen" yay me! Manager asked for me to resubmit a yellow slip for mail to be held I decided not to. Instead put in a change of address request. He informed me that this might not work because of the hold mail request that never went through that I had previously submitted. Long story short good luck pray when you go to this post office. Know that most young employees mail and female will be too busy flirting so drink plenty of water and eat or you might faint in line. read more

Don't get a change of address here. It will take you over 2 months to get a key and even after putting your mail on hold you won't be able to pick it up. Oh and then plan on spending 1-2 hours in line every day waiting for that key. It would probably be quicker to forward your mail to a friend or families house who lives I the area. read more
