This was especially terrific and reminded me of when THE DOG WHISPERER introduced a dog on his TV show to the mail carrier with success. I then went there to get it and told the lady I called and was picking up a package. She just stared blankly at me and rolled her eyes. She still did not say a word. Oh my! Well let's see....We have a different mail carrier almost every day. I get my mail, my…read moreneighbors' mail, people's mail on other streets. My neighbors get my mail. Has anyone seen my driver's license that was supposed to come in the mail nearly a year ago? Oh, I got someone else's bankruptcy papers (I'm sure they appreciate that). My neighbor dropped off my husband's work mail the other day (private business by the way). Go ahead tell me to call them, complain!! What a joke. I tried this. The condescending woman I spoke to acted as if it were my fault because I didn't report the problem often enough. When nothing changes people give up. Then she acted as if it weren't happening. Yet I was able to prove it on the phone. So I asked her why we have so many mail carriers. She tells me that our route (right in the middle of town) is an auxiliary route (this means that they alternate carriers constantly). So in that case none of them ever learn this route. We have lost so much mail over the years and acquired so much mail that wasn't ours. It isn't unusual for neighbors to deliver each other's mail here. So customer service from here sucks!

The merrillville location is busy no matter what time I get there. Usually the line is almost near the door. I cannot even begin to count the number of times it's taken me over 20 minutes to get to the register. I've really enjoyed how speedy it is in the Schererville location. They are busy but also seem to be quicker and have more help. The workers are not rude like I feel they have been in merrillville. I even call them on the phone to ask about postage on different weights because sometimes I just need to use 2/4 stamps. They have never been short with me. I really don't like going to any post office but I would say its one of the better locations.

The road is open and accessible to businesses and residents; it is simply closed to through traffic. Now that we have a new postal carrier, we have been told that their supervisor instructed them not to deliver our mail because the road is "closed." As a result, we are now expected to drive to the post office every day to pick up our business mail. The road is accessible. Our business is open. Residents and businesses along the road can come and go normally. Mail has been delivered without issue for months. Can someone please explain why a change in postal carrier suddenly means our business is no longer eligible for mail delivery? This simply does not make sense. We would appreciate this being reviewed and our normal mail delivery being restored.

The workers are great but they need to understand these are things we pay for when purchasing a shipping label I don't have to stand there and bug them I drop and go. I expect the same in return.
