Oh my! Well let's see....We have a different mail carrier almost every day. I get my mail, my…read moreneighbors' mail, people's mail on other streets. My neighbors get my mail. Has anyone seen my driver's license that was supposed to come in the mail nearly a year ago? Oh, I got someone else's bankruptcy papers (I'm sure they appreciate that). My neighbor dropped off my husband's work mail the other day (private business by the way). Go ahead tell me to call them, complain!! What a joke. I tried this. The condescending woman I spoke to acted as if it were my fault because I didn't report the problem often enough. When nothing changes people give up. Then she acted as if it weren't happening. Yet I was able to prove it on the phone. So I asked her why we have so many mail carriers. She tells me that our route (right in the middle of town) is an auxiliary route (this means that they alternate carriers constantly). So in that case none of them ever learn this route. We have lost so much mail over the years and acquired so much mail that wasn't ours. It isn't unusual for neighbors to deliver each other's mail here. So customer service from here sucks!

Last week, I had to send some important documents off. I usually go to Highland, but didn't want to…read moredrive that far. My experiences at the Tolleston branch were soooo horrible, just got tired of the rudeness. This was at least 2 to 3 years ago. My parents used money orders, it's just what they believed in. So when I'd go, the machine would always break down. It was terrible. One lady was so horribly rude, it was ridiculous. When I'd come in she'd roll her eyes, and just be surly!! Then she'd whisper about me to her collegues. This was the 15th & Broadway mostly. Just got tired of horrible service. When I walked in the post office, Teala, hope I spelled it right, was helping another customer. She was so pleasant, conversing with the customer, not rushing her away, answering all her questions. Then the next customer she did the same, accepting her box with no problem. Then it was my turn. I explained what I needed, she explained the process, and even printed my receipt without me having to ask or press the button. She was very thorough and that was definitely A1 customer service. Now I also agree with another persons review. The post offices are waaayyyyy out of date. No self service machines, dark and dingy, still using the old money order machine, and the look is still from the 70's. Not sure what we need to do to get an upgrade, but hopefully it will happen soon!! But thank you Teala, I lost hope in my local post office, and now considering returning.

Then I moved to Gary, IN…read more It's a little on the dingy side and everything is in various states of disrepair, but that's easy enough to overlook. The real problem is only one person works there, which can make things a little slower than usual. It's not Brenda's fault; she's doing the best she can with what she's got, but it still kinda blows. Probably worse for her, though, so I try not to act like a turd when I'm there. Case in point, the computer system wasn't working one day, so as the lone employee, Brenda had to simultaneously assess the problem, call the help line for assistance, retrieve packages for people with delivery notices, and rescue someone who couldn't unlock her PO box. Needless to say, it took a while for me to get my stamps. Also, they are closed every day from 12:30-1:30 so Brenda can have lunch. That's totally reasonable, but it doesn't happen in places that have more than one employee. Grrrr. And every now and then you find a handwritten note taped to the door saying "Sorry, we're closing at 3:00 pm today" or something similar. Don't get me wrong, Brenda is awesome and she has a really cute hairstyle, but all these USPS shortages are really bumming my stone. BTW, pick up M-F is 5:00 pm, 12:00 on Saturday.

My puppy Snoopy isn't so fond of people walking around my home and seems to especially like to bark at our mail carrier but Cody took the time to meet Snoopy and become friends. This was especially terrific and reminded me of when THE DOG WHISPERER introduced a dog on his TV show to the mail carrier with success. I'll forever be grateful of Cody and the Gary postal service, thank yoU.

I then went there to get it and told the lady I called and was picking up a package. She just stared blankly at me and rolled her eyes. She still did not say a word. So I said do you need to see my ID and she still didn't say anything as I handed it to her. She gets the package scans it and hands it to me. Not one word came out of her mouth even as I said have a good one. Unbelievable, how did she even get hired.

They act as if every customer is really annoying, and putting them out, while observing and experiencing my last few visits with this store. Maybe they should check into seeing if UPS would raise the hourly wage to help retain and keep more pleasant owners, staff, and employees of working age, to help create smoother transactions that don't irritate the job working day. I highly recommend going to another store, even in another tow, to help you with your UPS needs. Shame on UPS, for not keeping up with who is representing their company.
