I needed to drop off a prepaid package but had to show the code on my phone. When I walked in there were 5 people ahead of me and I thought - this is great, I'll be out of here quickly. No such luck! Turns out there was only 1 person working behind the counter and apparently a high maintenance customer with her. After about 15 minutes a man came out, asked if anyone was picking up mail and helped one of the people who said yes. Then he disappeared into the back again without helping the other person who was picking up. After about 15 minutes more another man came out and managed to help 2 people while the lady was still helping the 3 people crowded around her window. Then it was my turn and the man who helped me was very apologetic about the wait. His name was Ayman and he labeled my package and sold me stamps in under 5 minutes. I think its funny that after every transaction they have a rating system where you pick one of 3 options about your experience. I rated him the best because it really wasn't his fault. As I was leaving I noticed two other men had come out to help the long line of customers (consistently 8-10 people). I guess they all take lunch at the same time - early. This location has PO boxes, a self serve kiosk, and greeting cards and mailing supplies for sale. They're at the end of the strip mall but parking really isn't an issue. The agent had no clue how to give me the correct rate for sending an envelope with paper goods inside that weighed practically nothing. She was going to charge me $8.75 instead of $1.90 per envelope. I had close to 85 envelopes to send. On the other hand, the USPS station on West Arapahoe gave me the correct rate, including the correct postage for Canada. The agent at the Dayton location was going to charge me $30 for Canada and maybe $15-$20 to send something to Hawaii. paid and shipped my package with the proper address however mysteriously my package didn't get delivered and got alll the way to colorado from texas to be "returned to sender". this was an outfit for a wedding that I was attending, which forced me to buy a new outfit and new shoes because the incompetency of the mail carrier. I went to my local post office, which I shipped it from and they told me that there was nothing that I could do except for it to go back to Colorado and discuss it with the location that made the mistake . I left my local post office and called the Greenwood village location to speak to a lady who confirmed the mail carrier made a mistake as the normal carrier was on vacation at the time of the incident and was unsure what transpired. The notes on the package stated that the person the package was mailed to no longer live at that residence and there was no forwarding address. However, my in-laws have lived there for over 30 years and still live there today. I was directed to go online and file a claim, and that it would get forwarded to one of the offices in the area for review less than 24 hours later claim denied no refund even though they have acknowledged their carrier made a mistake. All I'm requesting is the refund for the $19 in shipping that I've paid although it caused a large inconvenience and I had to spend money on Shoes and address for the wedding. read more

Is it like asking if you have seen $3 bill? This place is dingy, unorganized and prime example of things going downhill and crying for updates. I need to mail a envelope to CA from CO. I had two options. Priority or FedEx/UPS. I thought I was gonna save few $ by stopping by and ultimately, all the agony and delays, it was not worth it. Had to deal with unionized postal worker whose 1st name starts with N who was busy chatting away with one customer while other clerk processed more than a dozen packages. I want to personally thank him for steadily processing most of the customer while other half was busy bs'ing. I live thru this kind of bs and definitely wanted to call out but kept my mouth shut. After I noted her name from the badge and decided to bring up the incident using the online platform. I wanted to recognize the hero and also give opportunity to better customer experience for others at this location After spending 5 minutes of my time online filling the field, this web site asked about all the juicy details about me. When I was navigating, I was expecting a large building but I was surprised that this location is in a small strip of shops with drop off mailboxes further down the street. It was about an hour before they closed and there was a long line with what looked like only two counter employees. I'll come back another day. read more

The staff is great, the long line is tedious, and the shipment processing? Not so much. The address i provided was 100% valid, other carriers delivered to my address with zero problems. Except this USPS location, the driver couldn't recognize my address so he decided to hold onto it. Since he's "new" to the apartment complex, google map/ Apple map weren't born yesterday. I loathe this place. I've been here during my lunch break and on a Saturday and both times were absolutely horrible. The automated machine is usually broken, being worked on or operated by numbnuts. If that doesn't work then you have to go into the post office line which is usually about 13 people deep, while two employees begrudgingly assist those in line. To top it off, there's no parking ever since they share the center with other businesses and for some reason have spots to the leftof the office barricaded off. This place. Man oh man. I've had mailed letters never reach their destination. Several times. One was for taxes, so that sucked. The one star is for the new machine in the lobby. But here's a novel idea - how about get a few more. The normal lines are insane. The package box is always full and you're guided to place your package in a pile on the counter. This post office is near my work, so I go there pretty often. It's usually busy, which I used to beat by going early in the morning....but they don't open until 8:30am anymore (that's an hour later than it used to be). Forunately they do have an automated station that works for most things. The thing that gets them up to 3 stars is how nice they are. They have helped me out many times when I've had a problem (and I sell things on ebay, so I ship stuff pretty frequently). I just recommend avoiding lunchtime and 4-6pm....way too busy. read more

Abhorrent service. I put in a request for an investigation for a package that was marked as delivered, but was never received. The below is all I got in response: "Thank you for taking the time to notify us of your experience. Your USPS® Service Request #### has been marked as resolved. Your package was delivered to closed mail room and probably was stolen from it. You should notified a leasing office about it." The mailroom in question has multiple signs indicating that if a package is too large, it should be placed in the package hub. If it is too large for the package hub, it should be delivered to the resident doorstep. Clear protocol laid out and blatantly disregarded. Bonus, the email response was not even proofread. Don't trust them to comply with any requests or use common sense. read more

I know in some parts of the world with broken systems dysfunction is tolerated as the norm. Long lines, inefficient processes and poor leadership are all hallmarks of such places but come on, this is America dog gone it. Why is this allowed to continue? Although the review by Lee S is spot on and yes you should lower your expectations the customer service fanatic in me just wonders why things can't ever be better? Can't there be a parking lot that facilitates the volume of customers? Can't there be music playing so it doesn't feel like you're in some kind of cosmic vacuum? Can't workers act like human beings instead of robotic drones? Can't the process be quicker and more efficient? Can't the lines move faster? Can't they actually staff according to demand so the lines don't get out of control in the first place? It's amazing how in virtually every post office in the country it's the same drill. Long lines with one or two workers at the counter, neither of which seem to be in a particular hurry. None of this is actually hard to fix but apparently leadership is just apathetical and plain doesn't care. Maybe if they were paid according to performance they would care. Maybe if they weren't overpaid government workers with fat benefits packages they would care. The whole structure needs to be torn down and re-designed. I swear postal workers must belong to a secret cult where they are indoctrinated to all be the same. I mean does the employment application say in big red letters "no personality necessary?" This is the RUDEST post office we've ever been to. I've been on three separate occasions and on all three times the personnel working there have been next to worthless, and on top of that, rude about it. We have used three separate post offices since moving to Centennial with the Post Office near Arapahoe and University being the friendliest. The other post office was fine, but this branch on S. Dayton should just be closed down or given a complete overhaul of personnel. The supervisor was every bit as useless and rude as her employees and if she is the exemplar for "service" here then it's no wonder her employees act the way they do. I ordered an item that needed a signature upon receipt. Instead of delivering the item to my door, these degenerates placed a "sorry we missed you" notice in my mailbox at my apartments central mail area. I took the notice to the post office to retrieve the item, but after an hour of searching they could not find it and told me the carrier probably planned to deliver it today. I caught up with the mail carrier on the same day, but he claimed they could not find it. Two days later another "sorry we missed you" notice was in my box. I went to the USPS website to re-schedule deliver and have not seen or heard anything from them and no package has been delivered. These morons cannot be trusted with handling the mail. read more

The employees and supervisor of this US Post Office are wonderful. I had a problem with not receiving an overnight priority package that tracking said had been delivered. I personally visited the location and described the problem to then and they found my package and got it delivered to me within fifteen minutes. o.m.g. For YEARS this PO has been unable to put mail into my mailbox at my condo. I have gone there several times to ask WHY? WHY is it so impossible for you to do your one job?? I'm stating here exactly what I said: I don't know if you have a problem with white people, Guatemalans, special needs childred, or lesbians, but ALL the mail needs to be delivered. They have sent countless envelopes back to our kids schools, to the point I had to GO to the school to get them. Now they have sent my drivers license back to the DMV. The DMV says it is stamped "undeliverable". It's got my name and address on it. Yet, this PO can't handle it. The DMV says I have to renew my license again, pay the fees to renew it AGAIN, and have it mailed again. Are you freaking kidding?? I have a call in to Ericka, the "supervisor" at the Dayton St, Englewood, branch. I already know I'm going to have to go there and try - again - to get our mail delivered. Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about this post office. On the plus side, I can drop off a letter any time because the door is always open. Nice. Back in Long Beach they lock those doors up tight at closing time! This one's fairly close to the office. The self-serve postage machine is very convenient. Okay, so here's a minus: I can't ever find small shipping boxes here. I think they keep them behind the counter, which sucks because that means I have to stand in line to get one or order online. They ship for free but still. I don't wanna wait. Speaking of standing in line, I had to stand in line last week for certified mail pieces because, you guessed it, they keep them behind the counter instead of out in the slots they belong in. The guy behind the counter said he keeps them back there because people scoop them all up during tax season. He would only give me two pieces! He said we (the consumer) can order them free online but he (the mail counter guy) has to pay for them. No dude, since my tax dollars pay for the USPS I'M paying for them, not you. Don't make consumers wait in line for items that should be out and readily available. Put fewer pieces in the slots if you're getting cleaned out, but don't leave the slots empty and then give consumers BS excuses. Not cool. Wow. I don't know how it's possible for a post office to be so terrible. I dream that one day the USPS will figure out how to actually meet the needs of customers, but have no illusion that it will ever happen at this location. My biggest beef is the '24/7' self service kiosk. It is often out of order, but what's worse is that they lock the drop box (next to the self service machine) after hours, making it impossible to mail a package '24/7'. So frustrating. Other reviewers are right about this place-- always long lines with grumpy staff (except for the one younger tall guy with dark hair who seems to move people along ok), bad parking situation, never have the box/envelope you need, and unreliable shipping. I've tracked a number of packages mailed from this office and have found that they sit at this location an extra 12-24 hours, often delaying arrival wherever they're going. The problem of course is that the location is convenient and there's not another good option close by. I've used the pack and ship next door in desperation and quite frankly, the sourly customer service and high prices at that shop are just another set of headaches. Is it really too much to ask to be able to mail a letter or package from my neighborhood post office? For this location, the answer is a disappointing yes. read more

I went to this location on the 30th of June to take care of some bills, the bills did not exceed 2000.00. The lady at the desk called next, I told her what i needed and she asked me how i would be paying? I told her cash, she then said that i needed to fill out paper work because they have money laundering issues. I knew that wasn't true, so i left. After i did my research on how I could use the post offices money services, I decided to write this because either she didnt want to do her job or she has a problem me. postal customer may buy multiple money orders at the same time, in the same or differing amounts, subject to these restrictions: a. The maximum amount of any single money order is $1,000. b. Without exception, no customer may buy money orders on any 1 day whose total value exceeds $10,000. This daily limit applies regardless of the number of visits made by a customer to one or more postal facilities. c. Any customer whose daily total of purchased money orders is from $3,000 to $10,000 must also complete Form 8105-A and show identification bearing the purchaser's photograph, name, and address. read more

This place has to be one of the worst ran post offices in the state. I work for a business in centennial and there are days that nobody shows up to pickup/deliver our mail. So in turn that also means that payments from our customers are delayed in delivery. I've also had a piece of mail returned to us 6 months after it was mailed for delivery. My preferred post office in DTC/South Denver! It's a larger post office than the next closest satellite office off Havana. I don't recommend going during lunch hours because the rest of the DTC is there, too. I've found that mid morning or later afternoon are good times to go! So I was recently thinking - man, I have a lot of four star reviews! And a few fives, and a couple of twos...why don't I have any threes? The answer's pretty simple! I don't really bother checking in to most places that would merit a three because they're so...unremarkable. Not bad enough to merit the two, not good enough to roll into the four, just... there. Where is a place that is ho-hum, but ultimately necessary and gets the job done? Why, the post office, of course! I visit this location at least once a week for work and sometimes closer to four or five times. It's generally in the late morning or early afternoon, and there really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to how long the line will be. It's USUALLY shorter midweek after or before the lunch rush and a mess on Mondays, but exceptions seem to be the rule. The staff is friendly, albeit slow. They used to be very prompt filling up the PO Boxes after weekends. Now? I wouldn't bother checking any time before two or three pm on Monday. You can go up front and ask if they can grab your mail for you, but, come on, don't be "that guy." read more

If I could give this post office a -10 I would. This is the most useless, incompetent post office I have ever come across in my life! I've even lived in other countries and got better experience there than here! I live in Greenwood Village and they have lost almost every single package in the past year. Just to give you an idea I got about 1 out of 8 delivered on time and correctly. And once they even lost my medication. Everything else has been delivered to the wrong address (even though it's always been correct on the package). And when you call the post office trying to look for it everyone (except one person) has been extremely rude and they don't want to help. They always sound so annoyed, one person actually yelled at me on the phone, and I even got hung up on because I couldn't provide the tracking number fast enough. I seriously don't understand how this post office is in business. They need to be shut down or all their employees need to be replaced with more competent, and polite ones. When you don't expect much... ...any open parking space ...anytime the line is less than 5 people ...any smile from the employees ...makes it an okay place to come to. What a joke. Poster master (Erica randleman) had no sympathy for my packages that are now a week late. They won't give me any refund for them missing their target date that THEY provided. Shipped priority 2 day mail on dec 8. Packages eta was 12/11. Still not here and they wouldn't tell me when they would arrive. Zero stars would have been more realistic for this branch.
