Absolute nightmare at the Smoky Hill USPS. I had a confirmed redelivery request, yet my package never showed. I made two attempts to pick up the package at the designated blue door area. Both days the clerk refused to provide assistance and both days she said service area was closed--even though the post office was open and customers were in queue!!! On the 2nd day, when I asked for assistance and clarification for why the pickup service (blue door) was closed--it was only 930am... the same clerk walked through the blue door (pick up area) and CLOSED THE DOOR IN MY FACE AND WALKED AWAY! No signs indicated package pickup was not open, no courtesy, just attitude. What should've been a 5‑minute pickup turned into over an hour in the general line. People have bad days. Holiday rush or not, this level of rudeness and disregard is disgusting and unacceptable. I hate even giving 1 star. read more

Horrible customer service. Long lines. Two employees were helping customers and the other two were walking around trying to convince customers to get off the line and use the self service kiosks which also had a line. Needed a little tape to close a small box and they said that it would cost me a dollar extra to tape it at the counter. I left and went to a different Post office where they were kind enough to secure the box for free and had never heard of USPS charging different prices depending on if you use self service. Will never return. This location needs to evaluated and revamped. read more

The Tower USPS off of Smoky Hill Road is absolutely is horrible. It is poorly staffed. Even outside of busy holiday times, there is ALWAYS a line as there are usually only two people working the counter at the speed of snails. Often times there is a non-uniformed staff person standing behind the counter staff, just holding a clipboard doing nothing! This branch has lost 3 of my packages with nothing more than "we are sorry." I cannot even count how many times the carrier misdelivers letters. It is absolutely infuriating that there is nothing that will be done to bring this branch up to at least functional standards. 2 years and the boxes look the same. Hoa says we are not responsible and the post office says they are not responsible. So, I am going to unbolt the box and recycle it.... If you're not going to claim it... hoa isn't going to claim it, means it's trash... right!? So when I remove the box that no one wants to claim... will the post office have to go house to house? I never knew I could despise a government building as much as I do the Smoky Hill Post Office. The location is in Aurora but it really should be in Shantytown because this place is a just a stone throw away from being a dumpster fire. The parking situation sucks......its one way in and out and apparently they think that works but it somehow confuses mass confusion. Employees seem to have gotten an A+ in apathy 101. Someone is always on a break or researching something thus creating a line of eight people plus deep. One of the self serve machines always seems to be broke along with the drop off chute for mailboxes. I go there at night so I can avoid said disgruntled people there but alas, no dice, gotta come back or go to a different location! This place just sucks. I usually taut places and proud to say my taxes at work but I seriously dont know how this place operates successfully. And this is my home post office and even though I despise this place to the umpteenth degree, our postman Steve is absolutely amazing and no reflection on this location of post office! read more

If I could give no stars I would. They are the laziest and non customer service oriented staff ever. Sandra, Theresa - the lead and the African-American male by birth personnel refused to help us because it was 5.56pm and it would take longer than that to process our little padded mailer to Korea. If you don't lock the door at that time and customers can still come in, then you are obligated to assist them. This is why USPS does not get my support. There is no reason to subsidize them because this makes them disregard service. There are no penalties for their rudeness. Never ever come here. Let them close and the staff at more customer oriented locations thrive. read more

I am always a supporter of our men and women who work for the USPS. They work long hours (especially during the holidays), brave through all sorts of weather and have to have nerves of steel dealing with customers good and not so good. Yes, this location is always busy but a given considering the cutbacks and society's shift to go with other delivery services/competitors. The staff here is kind and helpful, they just need more counter assistance. The drop box inside is a wonderful help considering it is large enough to handle small packages and padded envelopes. My only reservation is with the mail carrier. I continue to receive my neighbor's letters or packages and on occasion, mine has gone missing. I just file a complaint but sometimes this is not recouped since much of my mail is related to my work/business. Hopefully things will get better and these are just the temporary "aches and pains" of a probie. read more

This post office is everything bad that people routinely complain about when talking about government agencies and the employees who could care less about customer service simply because they know their jobs are secure and they can be set on cruise control for their entire career. The only problem is that cruise control is set at a snail's pace and they are still trying to figure how to make their performance worse. I would recommend going anywhere but here. This location is always busy, and it's definitely gotten worse over the last few years. Reason being is it serves all of the new housing areas that have been built out East around the Southlands Mall. That area is in desperate need of a new post office location, but until we get that this location will continue to be busy so have patience! There are 3 self service kiosks in the lobby, BUT I have not seen all 3 of them working at the same time in the last several visits I have taken here. Around the holidays it was down to just one working machine, which meant the line for the kiosks wasn't much better than standing in the regular line that went all the way to the entrance doors! But, it's the post office. Can't really function without them. read more

They need to have another facility to cater to all the new build as well. All in all, just pathetic. When I have to mail a package or need special Services, I go to the Parker USPS on Dransfield. The Tower Rd location off of Smoky Hill Rd is awful. I request pickups from them a few times a week and they just don't do the pickups sometimes. I use this service as a disabled business owner so it is frustrating to explain to customers why their merchandise is late. Horrible customer service went three times the lady at the front didn't know any answers to my questions as they had messed up my mail hold and change of address yet when I requested a manager she got upset and suddenly was able to answer the manager's questions the same questions I was asking. Its here when you need it. I dont know what it is but there is always line on every post office you visit. this location has plenty of parking, lots of PO Boxes to rent, got two automated postal machines. all of the employees seems to be friendly but the lines are so slow. always have customers who has never mailed anythign in there whole life and suddenly wanted to know everything about mailing. plus, the employees are trained to ask 1000s of questions. they should just have all the questions on the wall and expected of us to fully understand before steping upto the counter. "Anything fragile, flammable, etc plus do you need any stamps?" My expectation of this location or any location is to spend less than 2 minutes waiting in line. read more

This location and my mail person is terrible, anytime you expect a package they pull it from your box hold your mail and do not notify you. I have a video of the post lady throwing my mail. Fata is the best! She helped me and others shortly after closing. She even offered to show me how to use the self service kiosk. The other workers were rude and self involved. I walked in 2 minutes after they closed to pick up a package. One lady rudely yelled "we're closed!" When Fata looked at her to ask if she could help me the rude lady just shook her head at her and said no were closed. There is always room for improvement, but overall this post office is pretty great. They always have answers to my questions; know the cheapest safest way for my packages to get where they're going; courteous, and know matter how many people are in line or have been rude they are nice every time I come up to the counter as if I was the first person of the day. Like most usps locations, this one is under staffed so the lines are ridiculous almost all day long. BUT, they have 3 self check out machines that work just fine, yet for some reason the demographic at this location avoid using them like the plague!! Yet they work just fine. They should start offering discounts to people who use the machines to incentivize more people into using them. The workers here are pretty good though and will help out as much as possible. They also have lots of PO Boxes, drive up drop off or for larger packages you can take it inside and drop it off at the counter. read more

**LIVE ANIMAL SHIPPING ISSUE**I couldn't be more disappointed with this post office. I purchase a live fish online that was send via priority mail from Tampa to Denver. Shipped from an amazing breeder on Tuesday to arrive in Denver on Wednesday. Per tracking, the package had arrived to this post office on Wednesday like planned, and was out for delivery by 5pm that same day. 5pm rolls around and no fish, So I go to this post office and they say they see that the box is indeed there, but they can't find it. They advise that I come back the next day (Thursday) at 8am and they will have my box ready for me and set aside where the live animals go. Well, you guessed it, I show up Thursday morning and no fish. They say they see that the package is still there in their system, but they still can't locate the box and there's no boxes where the live animals are held. I gave the postal lady my phone number and she says she will call me as soon as they find it. Comforting. All of Thursday goes by, and finally at 6:14pm my actual mail lady calls me. (I've lived in my apt's long enough for her to know who I am). She states that she has my fish and it was just given to her to deliver TOMORROW (Friday). I tell her that although I'm so excited that they found the box, I can not wait to get it tomorrow and that I'll do whatever I need to do to get it tonight. Mind you, the post office is technically closed at this time. She tells me that she's off for the evening but that she can bring the box to my door step in the next half hour on her way home and said that she's so sorry to inform me that the box has been kept with every other regular shipped box for the last 24+ hours. In the cold, thrown around, not cared for. She said she does not know how this happened and of course I know it is not her fault. She brings the box to me and tells me again that she's very sorry and that she hopes my fish is ok. I opened the box immediately to find a very DEAD fish. I am very disappointed in how USPS handled my live animal shipment and am concerned about how they may handle other live animals now and in the future. Very unacceptable, my package was here on time and they completely mishandled it. Mind you, the box was insulated and had a 72 hour heat pack in it and it was still warm when I opened the box. The box also had 4 lime green stickers on it that said LIVE FISH. This issue happened because they threw the box around carelessly and left her in the cold. Beware when shipping anything that you care about with these people. I contacted the fish breeder who sent out 5 other fish that same day as mine, and they all made it to their destinations healthy and on time. read more

A carrier postal driver from this office parked on my front yard while he was delivering a package. When he drove off, he caused damages to my yard and broke a sprinkler. My Ring doorbell captured this on video. I placed a complaint with the US Postal office and they asked Kevin Frickel from the office to contact me to file a claim. I sent Kevin a copy of the video, over 20 pictures of the damages, repairs and copy of the receipt for the materials I had to buy to repair my lawn. Kevin was absolutely the worst customer service supervisor I've ever dealt with. He was rude, unprofessional, unfriendly, and has zero communication skills. It's been almost two month and I still haven't received a resolution to the case after multiple attempts via email. I provided everything he requested. The US postal office and Kevin have taken no accountability or responsibility for the damages they caused. If I can give Kevin a negative rating I would. I can't get my mail lady to redeliver packages when I sign the form and gave it to her. She said "the clerk never gave it to me!" I know it's her job to go and "get it". She blamed the clerks for her laziness. She said "we don't redeliver sorry". I know they do. That's part of a mail carrier's job! So I had to go wait in line to pick it up. Ehh, not much to say about the post office; the line is usually long, the staff is unenthusiastic and the service is slooow. Unfortunately we all need the post office so even if these things never change, I'll still keep coming back. I will say though, I had the most lovely experience with the PO box attendant early last week. Long story short, I lost the key to my dad's mailbox and couldn't get a replacement because my name wasn't on the box. The lady who helped me was super sweet and helpful, and made sure I walked out with a replacement key (after carefully ensuring that I was authorized to access the box). This post office off Smoky and Tower is always busy. It is pretty small, so maybe it just seems that way because of the limited space. There are 3 automated postal machines in the front (open all the time even if the PO isn't open) and Mon-Sat there are a few windows open to do all your mailing needs. It is the post office, so it isn't going to blow you away, but it does the job. The only other thing to know is that the parking lot is small and it is one that there is only one direction and one direction out, so it can get a little backed up in the busy times. read more

i come in multiple times a week because i sell my old clothes online and its always busy. okay thats expected, its USPS and we all want the cheapest and fairest rate to send our mail.. so i am patient because i know i will not get a better deal anywhere else. the employees there are always working very hard and trying their best to get through the long line of people despite being understaffed. i really appreciate them. multiple times in line, people in front or behind me have tried to engage in conversations with me, talking badly about the employees and how "they dont do their job" and how "its so slow" . i always roll my eyes and ignore them. First of all, they ARE doing their job and its not their fault they're understaffed. they are extremely underpaid so i just feel blessed they showed up to work. i work in the service industry, and in all my years i have never seen staff treated worse- USPS workers are definitely one of the most abused employees these days. i just want them to know that some people actually do appreciate their hard work. im not sure of his name but i wanted to give a special shoutout to the Asian man who works at the front- i see him there multiple times a week, sometimes he is the only person there, and he is always so kind to everyone despite the pressure he must feel when he is the only one working with a huge line. shoutout USPS employees, they deserve so much more. read more

If you want your items shipped in a timely manner refrain from this office. Dropped a package off of Monday and it's now Thursday and still hasn't been scanned in/processed. I don't know why the location in southlands closed but this location became my only option. The line is ALWAYS ridiculously long so expect to be there at least an hour even when you need to pick up your package. Also, for some reason the delivery people never knock on your door or even come to the house. They just leave a note to come pick it up in the mail box. All the time. I went in on Tuesday to return a package to the sender. I had a tracking number, etc to put on it. I asked if he could just print another label, but he proceeded to tell me to write with my pen on the back of the box. He wrote Fr for From in the top left and he wrote To down below for where the package was to go. I filled it out, paid for it ($7.85) and he said it should arrive by Friday. I came home from work Thursday and lo and behold, they delivered the package back to me because, since the label was still on there they did not even look at the back. Now today I have to go try to get it sent again and hopefully not pay twice. read more
