Sure there are staffing problems...but the folks try hard and do their best to help their customers.

I came in to mail off my trekking poles that I had purchased while hiking the Tetons. I waited in line for about 15 minutes as the line was long and there was only one person working. When it finally got my turn to the counter, I was told they didn't any boxes to fit my poles in and I was recommended to go to the UPS store instead. The solo staff member was nice and helpful. All of the other locals apparently knew her and was patient with the wait time. read more

This place far surpasses the DMV as Hell on Earth. NOTHING is simple or efficient here. You can have a notification that there's a package that's been waiting 2 days in a parcel locker and you still only have a 20% chance of being able to pick it up...they just can't keep up apparently. Do yourself a favor and pay twice the price to use UPS. At least they have enough employees to keep the lights on. read more

Woman who works there is super impatient, even when there is no line. She can't be bothered to be the least bit helpful. I have had a package there for weeks and with no PO Box it seems there is no hope in getting my item. Wont look up a tracking number, wont look up my name or anything. She has given me a "lost package slip" and to leave my information on swearing she will call me each day. No call, no text. The is a joke of the postal service. If you can steer clear of this place!! read more

Basic facility. Might have missed it if I weren't really looking for it closely. Ok. It's not busy. I am 2nd in line, but there is only one worker. Line is filing up behind me. Young woman in front of me was having some difficulties trying to get access to a box without a key. $1.32 for 3 stamps for posters to send home to family. read more

Worst USPS in the country. Old Lady behind the counter cant be bothered to do anything; she would not even look up my tracking number. I had to call headquarters and speak with a supervisor and then hand her my phone so she could turn around and take my package out of the cabinet behind her. Then she blamed me for not telling her that it was an express package. Glad I spend $140 to get a package way to late to use. I also had to wait in line 3 times (20 minutes each) because the whole town does not receive package delivery. They randomly assigned a PO box to my package instead of delivering it to my hotel. read more

Brian was totally rude today on the phone! Not only did it take 30+ rings for him to pick up the line but he would NOT look up my package. He instead Wanted to know what address I had sent it to, I explained "I dont know", I threw it away as all Iam required to keep is the tracking #. I had to call the Post Office in Wilson to het answers. The lady asked me why I was calling them instead of Jackson, I told her what happened and she said, "wow, they havent been picking up the line all day, seems like someone didnt want to do his job and was passing the buck!" I told her his name was Brian. Brian - if you dont like or aren't pleasant enough to do customer service for a united States Fed office in which I PAY FOR, you should get another job! I don't understand the practice of putting the yellow package pick up slips in the boxes before the packages are sorted and shelved for the clerks. I waited in a long line to pick up a package (the slip was in my box) only to be told there was nothing there. What are they thinking? I mean, DeJoy sucks and all, but this is ridiculous. read more

My packages arrived on 5/19/22. I made 4 attempts at different times to pick them up on 5/20 and 5/21 during posted business hours. There were people working in the back but nobody would assist me at the customer desk. A handwritten sign was posted covering the doorbell for service stating something like 'sorting until ?' I knocked and knocked for several minutes and was scolded by a woman who said I was rude for knocking and she could not assist me. I am traveling through the area and may not be able to obtain my packages before I depart. I did observe several others coming and leaving with the same result. read more

The WORST postal service in the country. They tell us to put our PO box number after our last name because they won't except physical addresses. But then when you buy form Amazon for example they google your name and address and a number after your last name is invalid so they take it off the shipping address, Then when it arrives at the "New Post Office" 83002 it sits there for WEEKS why they sort and match your physical shipping address to you PO Box address on file. It's the must pathetic organization in this town. My package has been sitting at the 83002 PO for two weeks now while they try to match my physical address to mu PO Box. NEVER use the USPOS in this town to ship. Go Fed EX or USPS!!!!!! read more

They have lost my packages multiple times. The first few occasions I gave them credit for understandable mistakes and usually the package finally was found and got back to me. Now they've lost an expensive international package, and while each person who I've talked to had different attitudes, some trying to be helpful, there was enough people who were snippy and dismissive before I even opened my mouth that it made the situation harder than it needed to be. And no one has really cared to make sure that what was going on was communicated well to anyone. This time was NO reason for this mistake and considering all of the past issues it just shouldn't have happened. I even suspect that they are currently lying to me about where it was scanned last, but I don't know for sure due to the poor commutation. ALWAYS use fedex or UPS if You have the option. read more

Yes, it is difficult to figure out the mail system here in Jackson, WY, but basically, if you get USPS mail, you have to send it to the PO Box at the post office. If you want to get something sent to you via UPS or Fed Ex, you can send it to your physical address. For a large fee, you can have the USPS deliver your mail to your physical address daily. Or you can go to the local UPS store, next to Whole Grocer and Sears and The Wyoming Inn, and get either type of mail delivered there, for a fee, if you open a mail box there. The post office actually does what they say they will do, and they follow the rules and never loose my packages or mail. They are very good. And it's a great place to connect with locals in line. I don't think we can blame them for following the rules. It's difficult to get mail to everyone's house in deep snow conditions 8 months a year, so they stick to PO boxes. I have had many friends and family members have a hard time keeping track of how to send things, even if I have explained it clearly in writing. But we shouldn't blame this on the Post Office. They do have a way to write your address that it has both PO Box and Street address: For example, it would be: Jane Doe P.O. Box 111 475 N. Glenwood St. Jackson, WY 83001 This way you can get your mail regardless of how it's sent and it looks, to those who require a street address, like a street address. Once you figure out the mail system, it's a piece of cake. Employees really nice, helpful, and overworked.

Mail drop boxes have been stuck for over a week. We have called to let them know and the gentleman that answers says he'll have "the guy that picks up take care of it". We drop mail here daily, and the boxes are still stuck. Just annoying. We have started dropping off our USPS mail at UPS off Broadway instead. They are always polite and get USPS mail scanned in faster than dropping at USPS. And with the drop boxes being stuck, who knows how long it will take for all that mail to go out. Mail is backed up in the slots behind the stuck items. read more

The USPS on Maple Way has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I work in customer service so I get it, but the people at that place never fail to be incredibly rude and mean when there's no reason to be. Recently I was picking up a package, and one of the older female employees literally threw it at me and told me to get it off her counter. I never normally complain but I also have never been treated so horribly. Every single time I go, I dread having to talk to the staff. No one deserves this kind of treatment. Please have this place shut down or completely restaffed. read more

Yet again (this is the 4th or 5th time in a year) that a package got returned to sender bc of an "incomplete" address, where the PO Box got cut off and then the USPS was incapable of doing their jobs. I ordered this particular package from an online merchant and it was shipped FEDEX so as to guarantee it showed up at my door. It then somehow got transferred to USPS and they managed to f*** it up like usual. How can the USPS be so incompetent? It repeatedly blows my mind. read more

Horrible customer service, I sent a mail (my mistake was that I sent it to a street address not by the P.O. Box) and the person who I talked on the phone was very rude and unbelievably impolite. Who interrupt the client when he or she wants to ask a questions with the explanation that was not even about the question that I wanted to ask? And after all of that she just hanged up the phone, like "I don't want to explain you anything, F*ck off" that is unbelievable. I will never send anything by USPS in Jackson. read more

After waiting 2+ weeks and going in nearly every single day for two packages that I had paid for fast shipping for I find myself gritting my teeth at the postal service here in Jackson. They were very rude in the beginning (depending on the employee I guess) and continually sent me away telling me they couldn't do anything about the packages that were there (according to the tracking number). On about the 8th try, they told me they couldn't find my packages and that they must have been put in the WRONG post office and I'd have to wait for a call from their supervisor. The call never came and so I had given up on ever seeing the packages I paid for, when a family friend of my fiances luckily contacted us saying they had received both of my packages. Why? Because their daughter had the same name and whoever was working there didn't bother to check the address written on BOTH packages--and merely sent them to the person they know to have my name instead. Notice to all you tourists going to Jackson WY. The US Post Office does not have street delivery. All businesses in Jackson are required by the Post Office to have a PO Box. So if you mail something to a business or hotel. It will not arrive and will be returned to sender. This is what happened to me and I did not find this out until I asked the hotel if the mail had been delivered. Then I was off on a quest to find my package which did have a tracking number. Should not be hard to find unless you are in Jackson WY! The postal staff were very rude on the phone and basically told me I would have to wait and see. They would not even check in the back to see if my package was sitting in their location, which according to the track# IT WAS! I was told "we are just too busy to look for your package". WHAT! How freaking rude can you get. I am just as much a customer as the person standing at the counter, in fact you already have my money! If you want anything to get somewhere in Jackson use FEDEX! read more

Its the worst post office I have had the displeasure of dealing with, they are extreamly rude, and dont do anything to help their customers. If they say your mail isn't there, they are lying right to your face. Multiple times I have paid for 2 or 3 day shipping and have been lied to, if you can get your mail through another post office I highly reccomend it. read more
