This is a very crowded post office, alot of people complaining about there packages not making it to its destination. It was crazy in there today, when I had to have some mail shipped Express, I hope my letter makes it to its destination,the 2 lines are long and there is only 2 tellers. If I could give this Post Office no stars at all I would. Today I went to the office and I went to ask the lady on the far left a question about the passports because according to the website, they take walk-ins Tuesday to Thursday from 3 PM to 4 PM. She told me that she didn't care what the website said and that she said she is only doing appointments. I've called this place multiple times and have gotten no response. To be fair I really haven't checked in to this location as much I should but it's the branch closet to me, I do use it all the time and it really isn't that bad. To be completely fair, the windows are always staffed and on the rare occasion they are not like about two weeks ago, they had enough manners to post signs saying the agents were at training. I can hang with that. To me, I'm never really on line for more than 15 mins and the staff is fairly courteous. They've cleary lost enthusiasm but they're not nasty about it. I guess it does get old. How many exciting stamps have you seen ? Overall fair service. If you're ever having difficulty while there see Linette Martin. She's a sweetie. Today I had a very good experience in the post office at Rochdale located in the Rochdale Center! The lady was able to help me pick the best fit package for my item. She gave me the differences in prices and perks!! The location was very clean and bright lighting! However they need to have pens for people to able to write and they need ac. But they do have huge fans which is better than nothing I guess!! When I arrived it was empty but when I turned around it got pack that quickly so this is a popular post office location! read more

I asked for a pen and stood to the side the woman behind the window to the far right with braids started screaming at me to "get back" they're absolutely nasty and ridiculous here. I do not recommend this United States post office specially for passport applications the lady that's taking care of it is a rude bratty woman that she shows that her position is very important close to the president who is deciding to be or not to be to except applications or not.Because of her attitude we couldn't do what we needed to do even though I was almost begging her because we took off from school,and work.There was basically only one paper that we were missing and I had to quickly run and do the copy of it and she said "no" on the question where is your supervisor or manger her respond was "nobody is around right now. It's funny cause I was by my front door the whole time and not only did they not ring either of the two damn doorbells by the front door they Never even came by. I've been living in the area for about four years now and had no idea this post office existed. I was sent over here to pick up my package. I had no idea what I was walking into. Let alone where to. I believe my mail lady changed shifts and now there's a lazy mailman that leaves my stuff at the post office instead of delivering it. Needless to say I was not thrilled about getting lost while trying to locate the post office. I don't know why everyone is giving this place 1-2 stars. This woman is so nasty, mean, and GHETTO. This was the final straw. I will never be using this post office ever again. It's people like her that make you leave Yelp reviews. This location is always crowded. Do not go on a Saturday morning, the wait is always 30 minutes or more. I waited 45 to an hour to be called. There's 4 windows, but only 2 are always available..the plus side is plethora of parking spots. read more

Not surprised to see the low star rating. "No access" on a very important delivery after the sender paid for their money back guarantee 1-day service. No access is just weird considering I got all my other mail today just fine as always. I can only assume the delivery person couldn't find the house or mailbox despite mail coming here daily just fine. Hope to goodness they don't try to cheat the sender out of the money paid too. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I know people say that a lot, but I definitely mean it. I bought a guitar from eBay and it was shipped from South Jersey. It was supposed to be delivered Monday, Jan 23rd. It never arrived. So later that week, I gave this post office a call. The guy on the phone seemed annoyed and raised his voice trying to figure out what I wanted. I told him the name and address on the label, and he said he couldn't find it (after putting me on hold for 10 minutes). The online tracking said "insufficient address", so he said it was probably returned to the sender. All the while, the online tracking was not updated. So I contacted the sender, and he said he would be expecting it. But another week later, it never came. So he called the post office himself. They told him that the guitar was still at their location and they would try to send it again. This was Jan 27th. So again, I waited for it to arrive, but it never came. The seller and I take turns calling their location every day for a week, trying to figure out if the guitar is still in NY or back in NJ, or somewhere in between. No one has any answers. On one of my calls, a very nice lady asked me for the information and my phone number. She said the guitar was on a truck and she would call the driver and he would call me when he was going to deliver. No call. No delivery. February 2nd. The guitar finally arrived back to the sender today, February 10th. Three weeks after it was first sent out. No wonder the USPS is hemorrhaging money. With so many inept employees running this location, it's no surprise. Update: When the guitar finally did get into my hands, it was severely damaged. It's one thing to not receive my package on time, it's quite another when said package hasn't arrived, but is still marked as delivered at the USPS tracking site. I called the general phone number for the US Postal Service, they took all of my information, but I have been told I will have to wait another week before I hear back from them. Two days later, and I still do not have my package. The number provided for this particular branch doesn't work. I would imagine the employees have disabled it, knowing they can expect phone calls from irate customers. UPDATE 1/29/2015: Eventually I did receive my package, but no thanks to the USPS. It was delivered to a neighbor instead, and that neighbor turned it in, and had them redeliver it to me. Now I have another problem with the USPS out here. I ordered some rare coins from Ebay that never arrived. I contacted the seller, and he says this is the third time a customer in Jamaica has not received a package he mailed out. In a way it is his fault, since he did not include tracking in the shipment, but something is seriously amiss with our post office. Fortunate for me, the seller has said he will refund me for my purchase, but he will never again accept orders from our area. I'm looking into filing a formal complaint with the USPS. It probably won't do any good, but I've got to do something. UPDATE 2/06/2014: So I received my most recent package really late, on Monday. The Ebay seller told me to keep the refunded money, in that I am fortunate. Now another package seems to be MIA. After today, if I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Before this, my experience with this post office and their deliveries have been nothing to be too upset about. I've gone into the post office a few times and it's either a good "wow that was easy and unexpected" experience or you leave out feeling offended and annoyed. Sometimes the lines are long, sometimes the workers are helpful, sometimes they are rude... Whatever. This review comes after waiting over a week for certified mail. Make that almost Two weeks! After waiting patiently for a week I started to look out for it, even altering my schedule somewhat, because it was imperative that I receive this mail. I started to call - NO ANSWER - NOT ONCE. I called on 3 different days, several times and at different times during the day - I never got an answer. I ran my mail man down twice - "Wait a Minute Mr. Postman!" and he was nice, but said he had no certified mail for me. At this point I was starting to think that USPS was trying to keep my certified mail for themselves. The sender then contacted USPS and scheduled a redelivery for the next day. The next day... No redelivery! I was watching out for the mail mans truck like a hawk and when he dropped some Macys leaflet and Geico brochure and didn't ring the doorbell.... Boyyyyyyyyyy This time he said "No I didn't get a redelivery for you... BUT after my rounds I will go back to the post office and bring it back for you if it's there". I asked him his name - Curtis - and I thanked him and waited. "He's not going to bring it back, of course he's going to tell a pretty girl that", said a male friend. "I'm not that cute at 2 pm" I thought to myself. Curtis was back in less than an hr - with my mail!!! Now that I think about it... Because of Curtis and the fact that he went the extra mile, I'm going to give this post office TWO stars so thank you Curtis! And Rochdale USPS - get it together! Service: 1 Wait time: 2 Total: 1.5 I've never rated this post office until now because it is "normal," to have ridiculously long wait times at the post office. It is "normal" for the staff to sometimes be snappy. It is even "normal" for letters to get crossed in the mail. All of that is normal, but what isn't is my last experience with USPS at the hands of the Rochdale Branch. I ordered something and the mailman claimed to have delivered it at 11:17 AM on June 10, 2019. I looked outside of my window and there was no package. In fact, there wasn't even any mail. I went to the post office the next day and the manager clained that the mailman accidentally delivered it to a business, would go retrieve it, check it back in, and then deliver it to me. Had I known what would ensue the next two weeks, I would have asked for the business address and picked it up myself. To cut this story short, let's just say I opened a dispute case, I called USPS several times, I spoke to the mailman, only to receive an email apologizing for the incompetence and carelessness. I replied that I don't want an apology, but rather I my parcel, and received no response. Now here I am, without the package or a refund, and sent to go on vacation without it. My main issue with this post office is with their delivery service. As a resident of south side Jamaica, there are often cases in which orders that can be tracked online say that "an attempt to deliver your package" was made and "...a notice was left on your door", which to my dismay, 2 out of 5 of the times are a lie. Upon trying to contact the post office with their provided #, (718) 723-9058, nobody ever answers the phone. This is pretty ridiculous. I have had a package almost shipped back to china because the incompetence staff responsible for delivering packages never left any notices, not that they ever came. I have lived in two other area's in NYC and never experienced the dissatisfaction this post office has given me time and time again. Then again, given the demographic of my neighborhood, it's pretty clear why the government doesn't "care" enough to audit it's employees at this location. USPS needs help as a whole... I wish vendors would give me an option not to choose them when ordering items online... The management staff lacks customer service skills. Their frontline employees are better at customer service performance in comparison. One manager locked the door with 7 people inside and disappeared behind a thick door for about 5 mins. lazy and focused on leaving on time he was trying to prevent others from coming in and ended up trapping people. Unprofessional behavior and would never happen in a Manhattan store... I pay extra to use UPS and FedEx not to deal with them... However, I would note that the mail man for my neighborhood is nice. I really wish someone would've warned me about going to the Post Office on a Monday. SMH! Came here to get a money order to pay my rent. The line was damn near out the door and the clerks were as slow as molasses. They only had 3 out of 4 windows open but even with that they took their time calling the next person to the window so they might as well only had one window open. I waited a little over a half hour and then when I finally got to the window my clerk decided to "multitask" - and by multitask I mean, talk to the clerk next to her, file her nails and walk away from the window. I turned around and saw the line growing even longer and the look of death everyone behind was giving me. July 30, 2018 @ 6:21pm - I get the following text: "Delivery Attempted. We were unable to deliver your Amazon package. For more info, go to Track Package in Your Orders..." NOTE: Ring Video and other surveillance cameras are not only on my home, but several homes in my neighborhood. Additionally, I have dogs that will bark before you can get on my property. I checked the cameras and NO ONE ever came on or near my property within an hour of the time provided. Additionally, my husband was in the front room, with a full, unobstructed view of the front of our home. July 31, 2019 @ 12:10pm - I went to the Post Office to speak with a supervisor. Guess what? I was told by a very nice postal representative, that there is rarely a supervisor on site, as I am handed a number to call. Wait. Let me get this straight. NO ONE IS RUNNING THE STORE. Anyway. I leave after witnessing another woman being given the same piece of paper with telephone numbers. She complained that no one answers. I go to my car and guess what? I dial both numbers on the slither of paper. One number immediately gives a busy signal. With that I decided to wait until I got home. Long story short: 1. Spoke with Carlos who told me a supervisor was not available 2. After 8 minutes on hold, he said the carrier got sick and could not finish his route. But don't worry, he adds, you'll get your package today. I said then the message he left for me, the customer, was fraudulent, as he DID NOT make a DELIVERY ATTEMPT. 3. After repeating what he already said about the sickness, Carlos then says that we have a message that "THERE WAS NO SECURE LOCATION AVAILABLE." Wait, what???? This usps location is very unreliable and untrustworthy. I've had packages scanned as "delivered" but it was actually never delivered. I've had packages delivered late. I have one package scanned as "delivered in mailbox"..and I never received it and neither the seller nor usps is taking responsibility. There are some thiefs and crooks working there and no one wants to be held accountable. They delivered my son's Christmas gift after Christmas because they were too lazy to deliver it at the expected delivery time. Instead they labeled it as "business closed" when I live in a residence. There needs to be alot of people getting fired. This is unnaceptable. They are deserving of minus 1 stars if that was possible. read more

You would think over time things would improve. I see why the postal service loses so much money. My complaint is not with my carrier but the post office. The manager or supervisor is women of Indian lineage I want to say. She sucks you question her or complaint she gets all defensive. They have a Asian gentlemen that works the last window. He is useless and has a attitude. There is no use complaining to the customer service line as nothings done. You do the survey doubt if it means a thing. I use this postal as mail gets there faster than my location on eastern long Island. I lived in Rochdale for a little over 20 years and was once satisfied with service at this post office. However,over this past year I have become a very disgruntled consumer. I mailed several flat rate boxes from this facility in April, I lost the contents of 2 of them and based on tracking on USPS.com one packet never left that facility. It was never delivered and I 've got no redress from the postal service. To compound matters,because the transactions for postage were done on line and the boxes were taken to the post office , they (the postal service) indicated that they were notified aboout the mailing but cannot substantiate that it arrived at the postal facility. This occurs because all clerks at this post office do not give receipts for items received not listed on the postal prinr out. Last Saturday,October 5, I mailed 3 boxes from the post office again. ( As an aside , as I entered the post office there were several customers complaining to a supervisor about non-receipt of packages. I prayed silently that I would have no problems this time). Results to date (10/10/13), two of the packages were delivered on 10/07 to the addressee. The third package to date cannot be traced. On USPS.com, the message reads that the post office received notice of the package to be mailed but this does not mean that it was received at the post office. Tracking and locating that package is now being investigated. Important questions here: Since the computer is used to check payment verification of the packages processed on line for postage, shouldn't it be easy to simply indicate receipt of all packages on acceptance? Why were 2 scanned and 1 not scanned as received? The unscanned package is the one not delivered so far as was the case of the package lost in April. My main complaint with this post office is their package delivery. They will post that they tried to deliver the package when, in actuality, no one did. I have had it say "attempted delivery" but there was no slip left until 2 days later. My latest package, which I stayed home and waited for all day, is now showing as "delivered and ready to pick up". What the heck does that mean? If it was delivered why would I have to pick it up. Someone really needs to come down hard on the nonsense that comes out of this post office. Oh...and Sunday delivery is a joke in Rochdale. Why does this "Post Office" have a phone number if no one picks up after 12? I've been calling since yesterday and I keep on getting a busy signal and then a fax tone. I'm trying to locate a package that I requested to have redelivered and nothing. I got a live person at 8:30am who told me to call back if I haven't received my package. Well I haven't received my package and when I tried to call back nothing. I had to call the 1800 number yesterday to set up another redelivery request, which was supposed to be delivered today, but once again nothing. My mail person said that if they packed the package in her truck she would deliver it. So, there is absolutely no point in requesting a redelivery service if they don't even follow through. Is there any wonder why people are using UPS and FedEx for their deliveries? Yelp really needs to allow people to give ZERO stars. This "Post Office" does not even deserve a star. read more
