I'm astonished by the folks above who say that the folks at this post office are surly and curt. Maybe because I don't treat them like servants, they are friendly and smiling with me. I joke, I make them laugh, and the service is awesome. Oh wait, that's the secret. Remember you're talking to human beings. I'm in Toronto and have a PO box here. One former staffer there even took it upon himself to call me when my box was full (which he wasn't supposed to do). I've been with them for a decade and never had less than wonderful service. I put the four stars only because I actually have no idea what their local service is like, using only the PO Box services. read more

I have complained to the postmaster about packages stuffed into the mailbox instead of brought to the door. I am disabled and don't pick up the mail every day, which is predominantly junk mail. But the postal people keep shoving boxes in the mailbox rather than walking them to the door. Then I find, not only did they shove a box in so tight I can't get it out, but on top of that they put more packages, one of which was a live plant, in 80plus degree weather. So the thing was moldy in the mailbox within hours. So infuriating. I even bought and installed a much larger mailbox, but then they just take it upon themselves to stuff it with bigger boxes. read more

In dealing with a post office such as this one, it becomes easier to understand why smaller post offices should just be shut down. The postal people here are surly and discontented. They look like they rolled out of bed after a nasty hangover, and move like molasses. I paid $12.00 to have a letter delivered, restricted delivery, certified. I.E. Urgent. To the house across the street. A Cease and Desist Letter. It took 5 weeks. They tried 3 times. I asked for my money back since by that time, the entire matter had been turned over to the authorities and an attorney. Big Whoop. The postmaster would not provide the money back. Now what makes this further infuriating is that I know the postal person did not attempt to deliver the letter, because I live across the street, and work out of my home. Further, I receive numerous certified mail deliveries of a legal nature, and am constantly receiving notices that they could not deliver and I should go to the post office to pickup the delivery. There is someone home at my house 24 hour a day. My office is 5 feet from the front door. Seriously. In short, this post office has the worst customer service of any post office I have ever dealt with in Niagara or Erie County. I drive all the way to Niagara Falls to send my mail, packages, and certified letters, because the Niagara Falls Blvd. Post Office is simply exceptional. As the main post official for the beautiful village of Lewiston, New York, I usually stop by this location to mail parcels directly from the U.S. whenever I am in Lewiston every few months. I presently reside in Toronto, and mailing parcels here with Canada Post tends to cost more even in Canadian dollars, therefore in order to save about 30% if I mail them while in the U.S. This location has a large mailbox area that has a few work areas where you can prepare your parcels, however, when you cross into the main service area, your chances to find a work station are limited and the line can get long on certain days. The good thing about this location is the quick processing of parcels by employees and the fact they can accept Canadian credit cards as payment. Now, for the bad. Please bring a pen and plenty of mailing tape if you plan on sending something. The post office offers handy flat-rate Priority Mail boxes and envelopes you can mail items in but, as for tape if you don't bring tape, you will have to purchase it there. Employees are not into chit-chat, so you're just there to mail parcels, buy stamps, or mail letters. They don't want to talk about your kid's soccer game or see photos of your grandchildren, that's for sure. Parcel speeds are great. Sent an item from this location and it was delivered in Atlanta in 48 hours. Good location and speedy delivery services are hallmarks for this USPS location which is next door to a plaza that is home to a CVS drugstore, Family Dollar store, and a UPS Store location. read more
