First of all, I've been coming here for years and by far this was the worst experience I had in shipping here. I don't know what was more upsetting: the clerk or the people behind me who were directly at my back as I was at the counter. I understand that common sense is lost on some, but the fact that the public needs to be told not to look at a screen where you are confirming sensitive information like addresses is insane. And as a customer, I shouldn't be having to do that. As for the clerk, I got Monzuri, who laughed and showed her co-worker the size of my parcels. Which was "too small" but she let the through anyway. Not sure why you have to make a scene over something that probably isn't an issue because I've sent plenty of packages that way before and had no remark over. I felt embarrassed that I was being made to look like a fool for no reason. But if you're dealing with wackos like the people behind me everyday, I could maybe understand. There was a team of people that worked here in 2022 that I wish I could acknowledge now. He gave me answers in an extremely rude manner, and then proceeded to put a piece of cardboard up to the window while I was still talking and walked away!! so rude, disgusting, and disrespectful! Came here to return a package to only get turned away because my shipping box wasn't USPS even though I had the correct shipping label. I've returned purchases several times from the same clothing company using the packaging provided and USPS return shipping label. I asked told the teller I've done this several times and never had an issue, but she just repeated I have to change the packaging to USPS packaging...she then hands me a tiny envelope and tells me to put everything in there instead. 1. I've always returned the same way and never had a problem with any other post office. 2. Tell me how I'm suppose to fit my giant return in this small envelope. Comically bad, even for a post office. They have no pens to write with. Or mailing slips. Or tape for your packages. Seriously, they make you buy tape. Staff members have lent me their own personal pens. Weeks went by without them being replaced, it wouldn't surprise me if it's still that way. I was once told to "jam" my item into a box it clearly didn't fit in so the employee at the window wouldn't have to turn around, walk a few feet, and a get a larger box. Yeesh. All the reviews on here are 100% accurate! There are ONLY 2 employees whom i can say have been helpful and friendly when coming here. However, there is an employee by the name of MAKEEA not sure if she is new but she is extremely rude! The manager couldn't even help while she is being rude to customers... ask me how? i have no idea but this is terrible. No customer service skills whatsoever, bad attitude and kept bopping her head when she speaks to you. Seriously! i'm coming in for a service, i don't want to argue or fight with anyone! Beware! Saving grace was the young friendly staff member with curly hair who helped me find my package that was in route and delivered to this location yet, was never to be found over the 8 days I went to check on it. I had a certified registered packaged delivered to this location and every day I went they told me it wasn't delivered, come to find out it was sitting in a mailbag the entire time and they didn't bother to look in it until someone with a brain decided to sift through it. Forged my signature and stole both of my package. When I asked them why didn't they leave me a card to pick up my package at the post office the manager said there was nowhere to leave the &$@$ post card!! Unbelievable and they got away with it. Only reason the post office is around is because it's federal. I think we all know this Since my first review in 2017 it is now 2019 and I ordered 4 packages that were delivered by the post office and none of them arrived. I just went to deliver a package that weighed 13.1 oz. I have an online business that I just started. I paid for 13 oz and the lady sent me back because she said I should have paid for 14 ounce. Every time I send package where I can't put 1/10th or 3/10th of an ounce, I always round down if it's .1 - .4 and round up if it's .5. Sometimes I'm paying a little more sometimes I'm paying a little less. In the end, it evens out. Best of both worlds, I still give USPS money. Apparently, they don't want our business. They were screaming and yelling at me and told me to go to UPS. Who does business like this? The lady called herself a manager and was screaming at me, a customer. This is no way to do business. I would rather pay a little more for better service. Since I will be shipping many things here on out. These people were so unprofessional, rude, and grumpy. One day you need proof of address, or a different license, or pink Slip to receive a package that the post man should rang your doorbell and handed to you, but instead took it back to the post office while you were home the entire time. Honestly wish I could give 0 stars! The people that work here are so incredibly nasty. The lady yelled at me and my friend because we didn't hear her tell us to press a button. Just filled with miserable people that rub off their negative emotions on you like it's your fault they're so miserable. Not to mention they make mistakes. I've had a letter I sent out actually get sent back to my address because they mixed up the return address with the address of the person that was supposed to receive the letter. I had to pay again to send it out. Their shipping prices are so high. Had a package that was lost, the supervisor was extremely professional and nice and was able to locate it promptly and bring it over to me. If there's ever any issue, speak to the teller with black hair and glasses and ask to speak to the supervisor. Both of them are the best people in the post office. read more

Went to this Post Office today...the line was wrapped around because there was only 1 agent and so had to wait about 45 minutes before I got to the window. Whoever is the Manager/Supervisor needs to be replaced. She came out when people started to yell and instead of opening up another window went back to her office. This is a disgrace especially since there are so many people with packages at holiday time and need to mail them. Just look at the other reviews for this Post Office and you can see how awful it is. I usually have very good service at this post office however I just arrived a minute past five and they were helping another customer with shipping multiple packages but wouldn't let me pick up a flat rate envelope.... it's the holidays and there is traffic everywhere I think a five minute grace period is a curtesy the US post office can offer. I deal with businesses such as the USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL etc., very often. I have never had as much frustration dealing with mail or packages as I do with this post office. 1) Thinking of sending a package? Bring it to this location, and then have it sit around for a day or two, then they will scan it and accept it. For people who especially run businesses, those extra days are pivotal as you have already submitted the tracking information to your customers and if they don't see that it has been accepted to the Post Office the next day...or the day after, it looks bad on you! 2) If you live in the area, your mail will get routinely lost. 3) You will come in to the post office to send a letter or two, and will realize that there are so many people that a line almost starts to formulate by the door. "Wow, it must be a busy day!" No, it's not a busy day, it's because there is only 1-2 people in the windows during peak time, and 3-4 people in the windows during off peak time. Now that's logistics! 4) Your going to get that brownish yellowish postcard that means you weren't home when they tried delivering your package. It happens. "It's okay, I'll just go online and request redelivery." Then you realize no, you can't do that. Why? Because the tracking/article number isn't there and you have no idea what package it is... 5) They will redeliver your package at your request...but at the wrong date!! If you ask for redelivery on a Thursday...it may come Wednesday, or it may come Friday, so prepare to stay home during a 3 day window to wait for redelivery. 6) Rudeness. I have had to deal with so many rude employees that it's even shocking to imagine. The only reason why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because some of the people behind the windows are extraordinarily nice and will help you. Props to them. I read a lot of news about the USPS going bankrupt and about facilities closing and people trying to figure out how to stop it. It's not rocket science people. 1) You're handling the packages when people bring it in, why don't you scan them and prevent them from sitting around for a day or two. 2) Don't loose people's mail! 3) Try having more people work during peak time not off peak time. 4) Fill out those "Sorry We Missed You" Post cards. 5) Redeliver at the correct date. 6) Try smiling and not complaining about the job that so many unemployed people would wish to have. After 2 days and an accumulation of an hour of my time spent there, I have been trying to mail something with great urgency to the UK, only to finally be told "O, I'm sorry, we don't have the packaging to do that. Then they sent me to another Post Office, which had the labels, but no envelopes. No wonder the USPS is going under. With service like this it's not surprise. Where to begin....yelp should allow for negative stars! It all began as I ordered my new phone since it was not available in store....they attempted to deliver the package two times at 11:02am and 3:54pm during the week! Somehow they think i dont have a JOB. After the second attempt I decided to personally pick up the package from this so called customer service center. I called today to verify my package was at the location and was told it was ready to be picked up. I rushed after work since I read the other reviews on yelp and knew I would be encountering some B.S. I had to wait an hour on line, while watching numerous customers ahead of me leave in fustration over the LACK of customer service and misinformation. Finally I was next...without a greeting I handed over my I'd and package notice....just to be told that the package was NOT there! I was given an office number to call. I called immediately just to be told that the package was still on the truck and I would have to come back tomorrow to pick it up. After expressing my fustrations with the representative I ask them to just return the package since I was not going to give them a second more of my time. This place is a joke! They don't value your money or your time. If only the phone companies and other retailers would stop using them, maybe then they would actually provide customer service. read more

This place is horrible! Worst service ever! I order something on March 27, 2018 for a two day delivery for an item. On March 29, 2018 it stated it was out for delivery and was expected to receive it by 8pm. I waited all day at home on Thursday for this package. Nothing came. At 11 something that night I received a notification that it will be sent on Friday. Friday I was unable to obtain the package since I ran out to do some errands. I asked for my package to be redelivered on Saturday march 31, 2018. I stood home all day waiting for the package. I kept checking their online system and no update. On Monday morning I received a notification stating that my package was refused. I called the customer service number that was online and I left my number for a call back since it was more than an hour wait to speak to an agent at USPS. I received a call from my local postal service and the guy was rude. Stating why did someone refuse the package and who was home, can I prove that I live at the address they delivered the package. Questions like that. First of all I live in a two family home probably the neighbor who answered didn't recognized the package or could not sign the package since it was under my name. An hour later I get my call back from the agent at USPS and i explain to her the situation how I waited all day Saturday for my package and how I live in a two family home and that was the reason why my package was refused. She put the information in the system and sent the complaint and told me to call my local postal office and ask them to hold my package. Next thing you know the same guy called me with an attitude stating that he felt offended about the complaint and how we spoke about this matter. I tried to explain to him that I called the USPS number that was online and he kept ranting about how the next re-delivery option was a privilege that I should be happy they grant this to me. I never received my package the next day. How they do not get paid for re-delivery of items etc... I am tired of how this place treats people. They need to train their employees how to have some manners on the phone. read more

You could NEVER call because they keep the phone off the hook, You fill out the " Forward mail to new address" but still get mail in the old address, You get your mail sent to the wrong home, Mail or packages that is suppose to have a signature, NEVER gets ones, they just drop it off. When you go to the Post Office in Person, There is a huge long line and only because there is 1 to 2 people at the window. I understand why USPS is going downhill. If they hate their job that bad, allow someone who really "WANTS" to work, get the job. Also, TRY being friendly to the customers. Be aware of this location. I wouldn't buy anything if i knew its gonna be via this usps. Yesterday i receive message my package will be delivered Monday. Today im all day in home and just received message " Your item is being held at the Post Office in MASPETH, NY 11378 ... business closed" WTF ? What i think they sitting in home ( bcs is Sunday ) and just marked online as business is closed. bcs usually business is closed @ Sunday. First - this is apartment not business. 2. im all day in home and didn't see any usps car, door bell, knock or whatever. Well i just check and i don't have any door tag. There has been several times when I've gone to this location to ship a package, and there are at least a dozen people waiting in line, with one teller helping customers, and two others ignoring the line and walking around behind the glass, seemingly not doing anything. I would have to leave and go to the Fresh Pond Road location instead. A few times, upon arriving there a few minutes before the facility opens, attempting to try to be first in line to avoid this, I would see people entering a few minutes before the building actually opened. Upon entering, I see again, there is already a line formed, and no tellers taking customers, merely looking busy behind the glass. If you're going to decide to open the doors early, then you're deciding to be open, start taking customers if this is the case. What has actually prompted me to write a review on this facility is an issue that happened just yesterday and today. We just had a heavy snowfall this weekend, but as of Monday 1/25/2016, there is a wide, clear path spanning the entire block. Awaiting packages, I received an alert on my phone that delivery was attempted, and that a slip was left instead. Following the tracking number on the USPS website I discovered that their excuse was that the mail slot was blocked. After checking, there was no slip, nothing blocking the mail slot, our bell was not rang, so I let it go and scheduled re-delivery for today, Tuesday 1/26/2016. Today, after receiving an alert on my phone that the package was delivered I went to check, only to find our regular mail inside and three packages left on our front steps, again, our bell was not rang. YOU CANNOT LEAVE PACKAGES ON THE FRONT STEPS IN NEW YORK, for obvious reasons. Attempting to call the facility was pointless as 90% of the time the line is busy, and if it does ring, that's all that happens, nobody answers. How is it busy constantly and then doesn't get answered? They must be tired of getting complaint phone calls and just ignore the ringing at this point. My home, unfortunately, is served by this post office. I am constantly receiving mail meant for people 2 blocks away from me. They have lost three of my packages this year. Every time I complain I get their pat answer of how they're very careful with delivering of packages and these things occasionally do happen. I don't understand how they can lose 3 packages of mine in an 8 month period if they are so careful. These are small items. Ones that are delivered by the carrier (who is always talking on her cell phone as she delivers the mail -- could that be part of the reason for all the mistakes?). I have no problem with the larger items that are delivered by the mail truck. This review is really not going to serve any purpose unless the Postmaster General takes the time to read the Yelp reviews and decides to investigate. Other than that all I am accomplishing is satisfying the need to vent. That being said, thank you for listening. Now I am awaiting my response from the manager. She and I are getting to know each other well. This will be our third conversation this year. Oh and by the way my mortgage payment is also missing in action. If I could give this post office a - 0 I would. The workers here are beyond lazy, their customer service skills suck and are an embarrassment to the us postal service. I have a usps account at home so the ship and click is easy. All my husband had to do was drop it off and go. All was paid, packed and printed out for us priority mail in the medium size. Well they made him wait on line for a half an hour and then turned him away because they said it was the wrong medium size!??!! Hey post office - there are 2 medium sizes. How do you not know this. He went to the location in L.I.C. - it took him 1 minute. This is not the first time this has happened. They also take the phone off the hook during the day until it's time to leave. When it's time to leave - then they put the phone back on the hook. These workers need to be disciplined for their actions or get fired. If you are unhappy with your job, find another! read more

I've learned my lesson after 3 trips here - it is always more pleasant and quicker, and in the end more convenient, to go to a different office. There is no place to deposit packages for which you have already purchased postage. After standing in line for about 5 minutes, I asked the clerk if there was such a place, she told me to stand by a door and a woman would be coming out shortly who could take my packages. The woman came out and barked, absolutely barked, in very poor english, at me to go stand back in line. I tried to tell her I had been told to come there and before I could get a second word out, she interrupted me to bark at me again. So back in line, in which now 4 additional people had come to stand. One of the absolute rudest employees I have ever dealt with.
