I use the Merced Post Office often and they do a good job. I have to go t post office in other towns and our Merced Post office is well run. They strive to get you in and out quickly. It's always clean and the staff is friendly. I feel lucky to have Merced post office as my most used post office. read more

We have by far the best mail man in Merced ! He always goes out of his way to make an effort to get people their packages by hiding them or waiting that extra second to make sure people are home. I'm not sure why people are rating US Post offices badly but my experiences here have been beyond compare to where I used to live. Since I've moved to Merced, almost a year, I've been going to this post office and I can say that Regina is on point! She values me as a customer and always makes small talk which I've been uncomfortable with however I feel as if she sees beyond that and attempts to give the better and fast experience she can. These people are the dumbest bunch and look for ways to charge the customer more. Don't try to ship poshmark stuff here in a flat rate box, they will give you shit for it. Also don't wrap your box, they WILL and DO tear it open. Their postmen are lazy bums that don't want to get out of the truck so if your or your neighbors car is within 15' of your mailbox on either side, your mail gets withheld. These people are disgraceful. Their jobs are not hard yet they make it soooo complimented and difficult. Extreme training issues and bad attitudes await should you come here...with the exception of one lady with short blond hair. She's nice. Do yourself a favor and use postal connections on E Yosemite. read more

The lines can get ridiculous at this location. They don't have a very large lobby area and because they have entrances at both sides of the building, many customers who lack common sense don't always know how to figure out the flow of foot traffic. This is a decent location for PO boxes and the only post office in the area that is open on Saturday. Come here if you must but don't expect to get out in a hurry especially midday. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I have called multiple times to inquire about a missing package. What I have gotten each time is "we can't help you". I have called twice this week. The first person I spoke to took my information down and said she would return my call after asking my carrier whether or not he had seen a package. Now I come to the reason for the one star review. The man who works there was incredibly condescending to me, essentially blaming me for the loss of my package (because I "should have gotten insurance"). Fool that I am, I assumed that the post office could manage to safely deliver a package being sent from only an hour away. What followed was my trying to ask if he could tell me if I had any packages waiting to be delivered today. This was something that other members of the staff had been able to help me with. Not only was this man rude, when I emphasized that I had already done all of the things he was asking if I did, he became beligerent and treated me as if I were a child. I believe his exact words were "you don't need to be rude...I'm hanging up now." If anyone from the post office reads this, know that I am going over the local branch's head and filing a complaint about this man. There is no reason for me to have been treated like this. Had he been sympathetic and not condescending, I wouldn't be filing a complaint about his behavior. Regardless of the issue, you do not speak to someone that way. Been waiting on a Mailbox key for over a month was told by different staff varying wait times for the key, and was constantly told the technician who works on the mailboxes is constantly not in. The best service I've had at a post office. The people who helped me out today were Jose and Maggie. They were both very helpful in making sure that I got the cheapest shipping prices possible. I had a package that was 0.1 ounces overweight, and these two employees helped me make my package 1 pound exactly, saving me $4 in shipping charges. They seemed like they genuinely cared about making sure I got the best bang for my buck. If I went to the Post Office inside the Raley's on the corner of G and Yosemite, I don't think I would have gotten the same service. Thanks again Jose and Maggie. read more

Absolute incompetence. I used online click n ship to prepare two priority mail envelopes. I then scheduled a pick up during my regular mail delivery. I gave two days lead on the p/u request (on Fri I scheduled pick up for the following Tuesday, there were NO holidays involved). They were never picked up yet I got an email stating they were. I contacted the PO and they replied with "we're investigating it." I ended up sending both of them FedEx and requested a refund of the priority postage I paid USPS. This is the second time this happened. It's ridiculous. No wonder USPS has a horrible reputation. Sometimes we don't see the mail truck for a couple days and then the mailbox is jammed full. The caliber of individuals who are hired has unquestionably declined. I don't recommend USPS, utilize ANY other carrier. read more

They are such a joke. I have an open case # and when called to speak to a carrier supervisor as I was directed, the woman just said without any damn compassion "well I can't help you. I can't do anything about it". They completely skipped my location twice upon the package deliver and now I'm told they "can't do anything about it". Unable to reach a human being after repeated calls to the M street branch. The mail service is this town is lacking. Twice this week our tenants had outgoing ,time sensitive mail that was not picked up. Myself included. It was in the mailbox at 630 am, the red flag indicating "mail to pick up" was raised and easily visible. I did that myself. Monday's outgoing mail was not picked up . Thursday's out going mail is still sitting in the mailbox at 10am Friday. Wtf ??? We also have had incidences where expected mail went "missing " for several weeks. After I confronted rhe substitute carrier about the missing mail, it magically showed up... looking like it had been opened and gone through. The gift card was inside. I had told the sub carrier what it was. A letter from so cal doesn't take 3 weeks to get here. ( our regular mail person was out for surgery ..she's great,btw) Step up ,Merced. This is 2018. I did not have a chance to catch one of the ladies that services You before You get to the front desk, but You'll know who I'm talking about if You go! I went in today (February 26th around 9:30 AM) and the lady answered all of My questions regarding My shipping and tried very much to save me money! She tried to find the cheapest options for my shipping needs and eventually a lady noticed our struggle and offered me a box and tape! So although I didn't purchase anything today since I had a prepaid label, I do appreciate the lady working today as well as the Girl Scout Mother who offered Me a box and tape. I tried to contact the office concerning a parcel of mine that ha gone to Merced instead Sacramento. I did receive notification that the article arrived I Merced at different time on consecutive days. When trying to contact the office I was "stonewalled" by the answering system and its multiple options to keep one from speaking to a human. We have the worse mail carrier in our area of North Merced, near bear creek. Tall man about 6'1 250 pounds, always wearing ear buds. About 2 years ago, he cussed me out because I got close to him as he was putting mail in the mail boxes. I called and complained that he was very unprofessional and literally cussed at me with my 3 year old son around. They did nothing about the issue. 2nd time around, about 3 weeks ago, he threw my amazon order on my front door step and broke my laminator machine. Again, I called to complain & no manager called me back as always. 3rd time, about 2 weeks ago, he threw my box on my front door step, mind you I head it because I am home, and he didn't ring the door bell. This was another machine that he has no respect for. I called and complained again, no return call back from a supervisor. Today, 11-1-18 He threw my amazon box on my door step again!! He's so unprofessional, disrespectful and I could go on about his nasty language he uses. He really should be fired! One day I accidentally shipped something and wanted the item back a few minutes after I checked it it. The post office clerk was being lazy and did not want to look for my item in the back. Another nice clerk offered to look for it and she found it! Another time they said I could not use my own tape and was forced to purchase theirs lol. The clerk game me an ugly look, I had to purchase their tape to ship something, I understand they try to sell stuff but geez. (Had already did a change of address but called just in case). I spoke to a person named Celia and explained my situation to her. I would like to complain about one of your associates here at Merced, California 95348. I just made a phone call about 20 minutes ago. A woman answered the phone and asked how can she help me. I then started telling her of my situation and she cuts me off with a loud sigh and said "I'm going to place you on hold" then places me on hold for ten minutes, so I got frustrated and hung up the line. I went to Merced post office and paid $1.15 for manilla envelope that they weighed and was addressed to my grandson in Fairview, OR. Postmark was October 25. On Nov 7th I put in a change of address to forward mail to Minatare, NE. On Dec 12th I got the envelope forwarded here to Minatare. Where it was all this time I have no idea but there was plenty of time for it to go from Merced to Oregon. I called 800 number and got no help at all from the guy I talked to and finally hung up after 5 minutes of frustration. read more
