By far the worst post office I've ever been to. The ladies that work there are the rudest and least competent people I've ever met. I've never gotten more attitude and flack for using the post office? They should be happy that I use them instead of UPS or FedEx. Think it's insane how these people act. Nice little post office stuck in a strip mall off Ridge Road near Calumet Avenue. Has all the usual offerings you would expect, and it was a nice clean facility. When we dropped in there were two operators working the counter, and they were efficient and very friendly - maybe they caught the Holiday Spirit. This location follows all the pandemic protocols - and enforces them. Since the interior is a bit on the small side, they can't hold a lot of people at one time and so there is a line out the door - and you can't go in until someone inside comes out. Many post office locations get bad reviews, but this one was very nice. read more

Very good service. The clerk behind the counter offered to cut a box down to the appropriate size for an unusual package.

They are so rude in there. I asked to get a copy of something and they sent me to staples because they said their copy machine doesn't work. I personally think it was just the two ladies in the front working and refuse to do anything else but sit there. As I was there they refused two people from services. read more

We came to this location for a scheduled appointment on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10:00am to renew passports for myself and my son. We followed the exact instructions given online for the documents necessary for the passport renewal process, including originals and copies of all necessary documentation that was stated on the website. The female worker at the counter was extremely rude and clearly had no idea how to properly process a passport application and looked at us in disbelief as if we had come unprepared. We did not feel like our passports would be properly processed with this employee so we decided to go to a different location to get them processed. I would highly recommend going to a different location for passport applications as this one is extremely ill-equipped to do so. read more

Customer Service has greatly improved at the Munster Post office. I've visited this office in the past and directly observed the environment that gave it a bad reputation. Given this fact, I was apprehensive about stopping by for my passport. While submitting my application I got to spend a few minutes at the site and observe how customers aside myself were treated. Service was friendly and welcoming. The staff did their best to ensure that everyone was satisfied. It was obvious that this branch is working to improve their environment. read more

I used to go here daily to send out orders for work, until I started using "click & ship." Now I only go in when I have an express or international order, but to be honest I kind of miss it. The staff is friendly, and they seem to know a lot of their customers by name. It's nice. Also, our mail carrier is awesome. If I'm not sending packages out and he doesn't get a pickup notice, he comes in to check anyway, to make sure I didn't just forget to request a pickup. The hands-down worst part about this post office is that apparently it's frequented by entitled crybabies who feel like they shouldn't have to wait in a line, ever. You have to stand in line in mid-December at the post office?! The nerve of them to make you wait, ma'am! And how DARE one of the employees be at lunch at 12:45! Don't they know that you need a book of stamps you totally could've bought at Jewel or Walgreens? I mean...the nerve. Once I was in there, and the cleaning crew hadn't come in the night before because of a holiday, and a woman went on a soap-box tirade about how the government can't even keep a post office clean, so how can they run HER healthcare? Others were nodding and saying, "Exactly!" like she was Norma Rae or something. I told her I wish MY biggest problem was that there was some wadded up paper on the floor of the post office. I swear this location has to be one of the worst. My packages are always marked delivered at 10am but don't show up until around 2 or 3. I've had packages disappear to never be seen again and I also have had packages mark out for delivery and then some how back at another facility. They really need to get it together read more

It feels weird to give a US Post Office a positive review because all my experiences at other post office locations have been neutral at best, and frankly the majority have been awful. I moved to Munster after living in Chicago for 23 years. While I miss many things about the city, going to the post office there is NOT one of them. I say this to underscore just how great the post office in Munster is. I was blown away! Everyone is friendly and helpful and competent! It is truly top notch service, for which I am so grateful. I just wish they had a stamp machine, but I have learned to buy those at Walgreens. Otherwise, this is the place to go for your postal needs. read more

Basically it was implied that I am lying about not receiving a package because it was scanned and marked as delivered. That I would have to come to the counter because a slip would be placed in the box (I know that). We go to the post office every day because it is five minutes from the house. Well, someone had to have taken it, which I NEVER openly said, I figured it was misplaced. The supervisor is implying that I am the one lying and that the workers know ALL the customers in Munster and they are all honest. I did not receive it, so someone has it and I doubt a handmade, knit scarf of beautiful quality would be returned. The person that sent the package was denied her claim because it was scanned as delivered and the supervisor will not sign a letter stating it was scanned, but I did not receive it. Most likely because it would be an implication of some sort per USPS policy. I had a po box in Highland, but after not receiving my mail because they said I didn't pay for the po box and I had proof that I did and STILL didn't receive mail after that, I decided to go to Munster location and have had no issues until now. For some reason the supervisor was very defensive and I was just trying to explain to her what happened, but from her tone of voice, she does not believe me, as if I am the one pulling the scam, and if another person with a po box received it, they would return it because they are honest. I am going to stake out the location to see if anyone is wearing that scarf and file a police complaint if I see it. It is not store bought, but handmade and the person who made it has photos of it, so I am positive they can not dispute the facts. I am also going to have the person send a complaint to the post master general. The worse part is that I do not feel I was confrontational, I was trying to explain the situation that I did not receive my package, and see if the supervisor could help in any way, and she was the upset one implying (not outright saying it) that I had to have received my package and the other customers and workers are honest. Disappointing. Now I will probably never receive ANY of my packages since this confrontation. read more
