I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience at this Post Office yesterday, Wednesday, 02/04/26, at 1:40pm. The older woman working the front desk has no business being there working with customers. Two out of the three times I've had her as my cashier, she's been incredibly rude for no reason as I am always polite. I never want to return there again all because of her. She refused to do her job of putting my shipping label I had already paid for on my box that was ready to go. She had stuck the label to her computer monitor while I wrote the receiver's name on the box. So I waited to make sure it was done and fit well on the smaller size box. When I told her I was waiting for my label to go on my package to assure it was properly handled before I left, she refused by putting it to the side and called the next person. When I attempted to put it on myself, she yanked MY package away from me and threatened to call the cops on me, and then continued yelling. I wish I suggested she do that because she was the one not doing her job properly, as my package is not to be left with USPS without a shipping label since it's then just an unmarked box at that point, and mine, not hers, until it's properly labeled with where it should go. That was very suspicious of her refusing to put the label on it, making me wonder if she was trying to steal my package. Cruel behavior like that should never be how you treat a customer. Ever. She shouldn't be working at that desk "helping" people and I don't feel very helped with what I paid for. I should've spoken to her boss. I'm absolutely appalled at her wretched and gross, unprofessional, unwarranted mean behavior, and refusal to do her job the RIGHT way, while she accused me of not understanding how a Post Office works. Seems to me she doesn't understand what the right things to do are, clearly. I walked away saying I just wanted to make sure it was handled properly and said, "Thank you," TWICE, as she was still yelling. I'm also surprised the other cashier did not attempt to help when I explained to her what was happening. I know I should've done more and shared my experience with her boss right then and there, but I didn't want to be near her any longer. I needed a passport immediately, and Leonard in their passport office took care of me quickly (my trip is in 2 weeks and I'm using a rush service.) I came in on a Saturday and asked their advice - he told me personally to come in on Monday morning. I came in Monday morning and he took care of me promptly at 8am!! read more

This is supposed to be the Main Post Office of Nashville - and it is run terribly. I drove 30 minutes out of my way one day to come to this post office because according to their hours online they are open till 9 PM. Imagine my surprise when I get there and not only are they closed, do not have a sign on the outside of the building, you have to walk in to then read a print it out sign that says starting in August we will be closing at 6pm. Since they were not open, I had to drop off two packages in the drop off package bin. Both packages that were dropped off in that bin, have been lost and not scanned in. I had dropped off an iPhone to trade in and T-Mobile has told me they have never gotten the package. I also returned a package to a buyer on Etsy, who has also never received the package. It was never scanned in... This happened 3 weeks ago. So what is it doing? Just sitting at the post office? Terrible post office, and super embarrassing considering this is supposed to be the main one of Nashville. I will be driving out of my way to go to the North Nashville post office or Brentwood post office since they seem to be the only 2 competent ones in the area. read more

I had a horrible experience today at the USPS office on Royal Parkway. I did a walk in to submit my passport application, and right away the lady working is yelling at the people waiting saying she will not fill out any information and if we do not have it ready, we will not be seen. I actually agreed with her and was glad she was being stern, even though she had an attitude, but then it got worse. I have worked customer service for 12 years and I have never seen a worker talk so horribly to the people waiting. There was a Hispanic couple struggling to understand her and she kept repeating her question to them, not giving them a moment to interpret her and respond. Then, at 1:30 she says no more walk ins will be accepted even though it clearly states on the website and on the signage that walk ins are available from 1-2pm. She yells at us and tells us we will not be seen and to leave. I really don't know how she maintains employed there. I was shocked at how she treated the customers and I will not be returning. I have never even left a bad review in my life until today. I hope she is held accountable for her actions and that a change is made. read more

Overall a very efficient post office. Lots of parking, longer hours and friendly staff. All in all a win.

This post office is easily my favorite in the Metro for almost 20 years now. The parking isn't abundant, but I don't think I've ever had to wait on a space since people are in and out fairly quickly. Since this is the main post office for Nashville, their retail office/service hours are longer than most. This location also houses a large number of PO boxes, offered in varying sizes, in their 24 hour lobby. There are also a number of tables and chairs in the lobby too. I've noticed many of the staff members working the retail counters have been there for years, and they (mostly) know how to move a line along. This makes my frequent visits fairly painless. I also like there are drive-thru collection boxes for the times I am only dropping off mail and don't need to go inside. However, if I want to minimize the chance my mail may get rained on, I can also walk my stamped mail into the lobby (again, open 24 hours), and drop it off into one of the collection chutes there. There is also an automated machine for basics if you happen to encounter an unusually long line in the retail office, or are visiting after hours. I've only used it a few times though because I like to pick out my stamps...because I like stamps. That's part of the fun of mail. There's a passport office here too, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. My only complaint about it is that despite the requirement for an appointment, there are always a lot of people congregating in the lobby just outside of the passport office. As a result, it's sometimes hard to navigate through the crowd to get to the retail office. Additionally, some parents are terrible about wrangling their kids, so they're running wild out in the parking lot or through the lobby. Aside from the above, my other complaints are the cleanliness of the building overall and the lack of stock in the retail office. Even pre-COVID-19, this place feels like it just needs a good scrubbing with bleach. (Not sure what it's been like since.) I can remember when the retail office used to stock a lot more items and felt neat and clean. I'd love to see this return. read more

Great location and very fast. You can get your passports done here and it is one of the largest Post Offices that I have been to here in Nashville. I like them because they are quick here and always have enough windows open and postal workers on duty. This is my post office of choice!!! read more

These guys are friendly & helpful ! Today I arrived before 8:AM and the sign said, Hours of Operation, Yep I was early. The gentleman behind the counter motioned me to wait 1 second and he came right over and unlocked the door for me, before 8:AM. Those guys were more than helpful, they were nice and pleasant too, this Post Office is run like these gentlemen are the owners, they care about their customers. Thank you Mr. Postman, you not only helped me get my business done before your working hours of operation, you did it with style and made the start of my day wonderful. I love this office. They are the main office in the area so they are open long hours - even on Sunday. Hardly any wait and the clerks are always helpful and friendly. I send many packages out of state & they seem to arrive a day or two earlier compared to other offices that are closer to me. So I will continue to drive past those other post offices to go to this one. read more

Clerk 21 was extremely rude when I asked a simple question about a prepaid label. Smh never again.

I like another reviewer dropped off five packages in the package drop 10 minutes to 8pm (the final drop off time). Only three have been scanned, about 5 hours later. Two have never been scanned. Value of one package $158 the other is $81. Anyone dealing with small packages over time, probably can recognize that certain packages has "the look" of potentially some thing valuable. Even if one tries to disguise them by adding "fluff" inside the package. 1. you cant get hold of this post office. 2, you have to contact the national office and talk to someone, who by my account. has probably never mailed a package in their life and all they can tell you is its "not been enough time", "Covid-19", "everything is okay, these things just happen" and these kind of lame excuses. Its never " well its certainly possible that an employee saw this small package and stuck it in their pocket and it needs to be investigated. Okay its this simple, 1. put envelope in MAIN post office packages only receptacle inside the post office, all with printed labels with correct info and postage. 2. Three of five are scanned, other two disappeared. 3. Not going to do jack-squat about it, too bad, should have bought over priced insuance as if the postage rates are not enough. 4. postal employees don't make enough at $70,000/yr+, pay and benefits so need a little something on the side. read more

I'm done with USPS in general, and this is probably probably an indictment of the "service" in general, but I went in to drop in a package, and they coldly told me that I needed tape, I'd have to buy a roll for $3.49. Consider me old fashioned, but even if they don't trust customers to use tape wisely, the federal employees could take time from their "relaxed" schedule to tape it up when I'm there. I'll wait in line. I'm not going to pay to begin with for a commodity they waste in the back like it's water, but I'm certainly not going to overpay at the exorbitant rates they demand. So I left, went to Kroger, bought the same thing for half the price. I then dropped the taped package at the post office on Donelson PIke down the way, and cursed our fate that the government still feels the need to deliver letters and packages when private enterprises like UPS, Fedex, and DHL do it so much better (and generally more courteously). read more

This is just a review for the Passport Acceptance Department. Make sure you call 615) 872-5742 to make your appointment because they will only see you if you have an appt. Anyway, as some of you know, I travel for work so I try to get everything done when I have a week at home. Well, I didn't know that I had to make an appt until I was ready to go to a place. This location is open til 5 PM Monday through Friday and other locations around close a lot earlier (1, 2, 230, 3 and I think 4 PM). Well, I called and the phone was busy. I had to run some errands on that side of town so I thought, I'd go make the appt in person. Half way there, I tried the number again - yippee!! I got through. Told the lady that I'd like to make an appt and she told me that she had a few slots available tmrw and the next day. I gingerly asked if she had something available today since I was on my way and was going to make the appt in person. She said... "well, if you on your way, we have one at 3PM (5 mins) so com'on in." I was like... "heck yeah, Casey be killin' it." lol.....Anway, I have to say, I really like the appt only process because I was in and out within 5 mins. Way better than my DMV escapade this morning to change my last name. Geez... read more

I am so over this post office. Every week I have to go here because of the proximety to my office. Might I say, they never seem to have enough staff. That is my biggest gripe. Especially last week. Here it is 2 weeks before Christmas at the airport post office. Probably once of the busiest post offices in the city, and yes, there were only 2 attendants. Why? Who does the scheduling? During lunch time clearly you should have serveral attendants. The line was out of the door. I am not exagerating when I tell you I waited 36 minutes to send off once packge. I would have gone to the machine if I knew the weight. I was so mad. And the attendants didn't seem to really care at all. They didn't even smile. Its just sucked! I hate that post office. I will be driving a little out from now on and go to the one on Donelson Pike just to not deal with this! read more

This is the last post office that's open. I came at 8pm so I could mail something out that had to go. The service was slow and inefficient (as one could expect from a government service). I would definitely suggest bringing something to amuse yourself in line. I did need an appointment ahead of time and they book quickly, so make sure you take care of that in plenty of time. This is closest post office to me and they do fine as far as post office/mailing needs. But if you want a passport, I highly recommend another location. It is insane how hard it is to get in for a passport. Got there at 4:00 and online says they take names til 4:15. Was told to wait in hall and someone would soon be with me. 30 minutes later a guy arrives and says it is too late for the day. I was on time and should have been told that when I arrived. Waste of my time. Another girl had been there since 3:00 and was told to wait too. They told her the same thing. She was very unhappy. I went on a Friday and was told to come back the next Wednesday, because so many people had become citizens and it would be backed up. How about the people who were born citizens and have paid taxes their entire adult lives? And all they are asking for is a passport. I found it ridiculous. Well, I arrived at 7:55 after reading online that despite the fact that they open at 9, you can arrive at 8 and sign up to be put on the list to get your passport. I walk in through the sliding glass doors and there are 16 other names already on the list, and two tables of 2 families, equalling about 7 or 8 in total, waiting and filling out paperwork. I don't know who the other folks were on the list or how they would've gotten their names on the list, so I feel this is extremely unfair. I was not happy and expected to be easily the first if not first few in line. I ended up waiting until 11:58 to be called. Absolutely unacceptable wait time!! However, there were only two employees working, one was a nice middle aged black man who went around and made sure everybody had what they needed to have before going in to the office with the other employee, who was a nice middle aged white woman with short gray hair, and I'm sorry I didn't catch her name. They were both surprisingly friendly and even humorous. Very VERY professional. Finally getting to have human interaction here made up slightly for my anger and wait time. However, I have a serious SERIOUS problem with the fact that there are no restrooms here. That is flat out inhumane. There were children and elderly people waiting who would have to leave the office and go to Panera down the road to use the restroom, and some would miss their names getting called due to needing to step out. I ended up having to 'hold it' from 8 am until 12:30 when I was finished turning in my papers. Do not drink coffee or anything before coming here, and do not expect to be in and out. I would highly suggest adding not just a restroom but there needs to be 3-4 agents working at all times. It's unfair for all of the paying customers to have to wait and camp out like we're waiting on a Justin Bieber concert doors to open, and it's unfair to the very kind woman doing all of the paperwork. She should be paid more and supported better. She was thorough with me and explained all my options as far as expediting my passport, what happens if I need to change my name after getting married, etc. read more

What a sham! The PassPort Office takes the photo for the application, takes your money and sends the application to the Department of State. The State Department doesn't process the application because the photo that the Post Office takes does not meet the requirements of the Department of State. Then it takes two weeks for the Department of State to notify the applicant that the photo is NO GOOD. Does the citizen have any recourse? NO! They wonder why we have no faith in our government agencies and their employees. read more
