I was taking a Citi Bike to work last Wednesday at 6:30am when the pedal fell off, causing me to (somehow) spin around 180 degrees as I landed hard on my right side. The crash cut my head and knee and messed up my right side of my body and the bike was on top of me. I was lying there in the middle of the street when two postal workers came up and checked on me, called 911, and stayed with me until after my wife arrived then gave her a hug. My mail and my packages were stolen here and they refuse to help me. A few months ago my sneakers went missing and now it's a check missing.

For the last 3 years that I lived here, USPS has not delivered my packages. After calling and filing numerous complaints, talking with the Harlem location manager, nothing has happened, and now it has gotten to the point that the delivery person doesn't even stop to write a slip. He just states that he tried to deliver and there was no secure location. Even though I was home. I was home, every single time, and watched as he never went to the back to even get packages. He only goes to the building, writes a slip and then you're responsible to get yourself to the post office to pick up your package. It doesn't matter if you're home, not home, or if you designated delivery instructions on the USPS site for your package. All of it is ignored, because he doesn't want to do his job. I am disabled, and too fearful to go out by myself due to the rise in hate crimes against Asians. I even have all my meds and groceries delivered. I have no family or friends who can go to the post office to pick up a package for me. FedEx and UPS always leave our packages by the stairs and sometimes the nice ones even bring them to our doors. The problem is so bad that even Amazon stopped using this USPS for delivery because they had to keep reimbursing me for the items that I never received. And now the problem as escalated to the point that the USPS delivery person doesn't even stop to write a slip anymore. And if I didn't check the site tracking # or have alerts texted to me, I would have known that I even have a package ready. But without a slip, and no one to pick it up, and no redelivery option available...what to do. read more

I give the counter people a lot of credit for putting up with the of people that they are confronted with everyday. Most of these people who walk in , have never worked a 40+ hour a week job. The usps workers try do it all with a smile on there face. As the public hurls insults at them. Screaming, yelling, banging on the counters. This post office location is so disrespectful to the neighborhood in which it is located. They park their post office trucks and personal vehicles all on the sidewalks and areas on 138th and 139th that are designated as no parking areas. They constantly park the trucks and personal cars in front of buildings and fire hydrants and block the narrow street on 138th street coming from the bridge which causes traffic and street cleaning is never able to clean therefore rodents are appearing. They park their personal cars on the sidewalk and it is very dangerous and difficult to walk down the street. Surrounding their whole building and in the tree beds in front is overgrown weeds and a tremendous amount of garbage. 311 calls does nothing. They don't care about how they treat the neighborhood. If you drive by other locations in Harlem they are definately not as nasty. Because of the growing garbage and weeds people are just throwing their garbage and urinating in the trees in front of the building because the make it obvious they don't care. Can't say I've ever come to this post office and had a quick and smooth experience. It's always... - My computer is down - This register is only taking cash - That register ran out of cash so I can only take cards...but I can't do x, y, z - I don't have any money orders (how the f**k does a register at the POST OFFICE run out of money orders? Can't you just grab one from somewhere else? Lazy shit i tell you) - One register open with a line of 20 people - You need to fill out this pointless form just because And let's not forget how the AC is NEVER on for the customers. 10 people deep...20 minute wait...all while standing in this BS sweatbox post office. The employees appear to be fairly decent. Always apologetic when theirs an inconvenience but I know deep down they really don't give shit. My notifications never direct me to another PO but rather state they are enroute. Didn't need a tone on we service other zip codes and package is not here -- without even looking. Have your valuable shipments sent by FedEx or UPS. The return label says where the goods are from thus estimating what type of products are in the box. You WILL NOT get your delivery (it starts with a "missed delivery" sticker in your mailbox instead of on your door, they never knocked). Then at post office they can't find it, then tracking info updates stop, then no one knows where the package is i.e. USPS or the company it came from. THEN comes the investigation process by both; USPS and the Company goods came from!! They act off company's having their products insured or replacement or refunding good to you. Meanwhile you missed your event or had to spend more money to do an immediate alternative. Save yourself and opt out of "free shipping" or "discounted shipping" and pay for UPS or FedEx shipping, it's worth it if it gets you your merchandise or before "check out" call the company and ask with which company are they shipping.Good luck :) read more

They don't even deserve one star. This is THE worst post office in manhattan. Once again, Carlos, the drunk mailman has delivered my package to someone else. I don't understand how they can allow addicts to represent the USPS. I'm from the area and I KNOW, the secrets of this post office. The Johnny-Come-Lately's next door to the post office wanted to move in to Harlem, now they must deal with it as well. I don't care that most of the women workers are obnoxious and get upset when you inquire about the whereabouts of your package, like you'd rather be looking at their faces instead of having a nice time far away from them. I just want my expensive packages delivered! Especially, when I took the day off to receive it. They will not ring the bell. Sometimes, they neglect to leave a slip. Wow! Carlos delivered my package to someone two blocks away but we had the same suite number. Now, this was expensive jewelry so I raised some hell. I filed a claim. Nothing was done. I would have been out of money if the person who received my package in their mailbox didn't ring my bell and hand it to me! Yes, they brought it to me. I caught Carlos out in the street and the stench of liquor was all over him. I told him to deliver my packages or I will become his worse nightmare. He was doing much better until approx. a month ago. My neighbors are complaining. We are all receiving each other's mail. I received someone's mail. I went and dropped it in the mailbox while I was out. These people get away with murder but I'm going to try not to tear Carlos a new one when I see him. This could enrage the most collected person and raise your BP. As far as the lines go... the lines can be very long between 12:30pm and 4pm. You must stand on line just to buy stamps. I came to pick up a package just before they closed on a Thursday. Only one person in line at the pick up window and the postal worker took both of our notices at the same time, probably because they were about to close. I'm all for efficiency. The place was clean and looked organized at a glance. Floors were shiny and nothing looked noticeably worn down, which is a change of pace from the last post office I lived by. The pink/peach attempted delivery slip was left at my door, which means the delivery person did actually try come to my door at least. (My old post office left slips in your mailbox and didn't even try to deliver the package to your apartment.) Ok with slips at the door as long as the employee at the pick up window checks ID. Afraid to say that the employee did not ask for my ID. Maybe it was because she wanted to hurry and close, but that doesn't make it ok. Since someone could take the slip from your door and try to pick up your package, checking ID every time is important. One thing they really need is automated postal machines. There's space for it, so I'm not sure why they haven't introduced them to this location yet. Happy though that the employees I interacted with were cordial with greetings or wishing you a nice day. read more

I have encountered ANOTHER issue with package delivery through the Lincolnton Station Post Office! They left a delivery note advising that "there was no safe place to leave the package." That's absolutely false! My building has a secure package delivery room where they could've left my package. They didn't even have the decency to leave the "attempted delivery" notice in my door. On Monday, November 24th, when I went downstairs I found the notice randomly stuck to the wall in the lobby. I submitted an online request for next day delivery (November 25th). November 25th came and went--no delivery and no notice to explain the delay! Today is November 27th and I've just returned from the Lincolnton Post office. The buzzer at Window 7 (package pickup) is still broken, so I had to wait on line and go to another window only to be re-directed to Window 7 after explaining my issue. When the manager arrived, I explained that I had been calling the Post Office all morning and either getting a busy signal or hang ups. He gave me some sad excuse about him being the only person in the back. After explaining my non-delivery issue and the fact that the the re-delivery slip was placed in some random spot in the lobby and not at my door, the manager assured me that the sticker should not have been left in the lobby and that I was correct in expecting the carrier to come to my door to make the delivery or place the delivery in the secure package room downstairs. Wow, talk about awful service. I've only ever been to this post office a handful of times in the year or so that I've lived in this area and I can't say that I've had an overwhelmingly positive experience at all. This location is never staffed with enough people. There aren't any self service kiosks and there's always a line. I will say that in my most recent visit, a woman complained and they did send out one more person to help with the customers-- but that only brought it to two, which still didn't suffice for the amount of people in the line. read more

1. They don't have the self service machine so you depend on the counters and the less than enthusiastic staff to attend to you. 2. On 3 occasions I left the orange slip for my package to be redelivered. Was never redelivered as it seems invisible to the postman as I obviously takes it on my mailbox. Thinking he might not have seen it? (Impossible) I taped it over the key hole that he needs access to to open the mailboxes. Still invisible. 3. On two occasions my bf went to pick up a package for me, took over 1/2 hour to find. And he had to make 2 trips. 4. USPS mail man does not take back packages that states return to sender or letters that have no apartment stated etc. 5. They don't care. Do not do any business here. Pros: There are some employees here who are very nice, friendly, pleasant, efficient, and professional. Cons: Some employees are unprofessional. Below are some examples. -Once I had to come to the post office to retrieve a certified letter. The lady at the counter had on a white tank top (you know the "wife beater" kind). I couldn't believe my eyes. I guess she thought because she was working in the back for some of the time, it was OK to be out of uniform and to wear clothes as if she was working around the house instead of at a post office. It was so unprofessional. -At 5pm, employees behind the counter regularly yell at an employee to lock the door to keep customers from coming in. There are better ways to communicate. -Some employees do not smile and are very cold. -I came in the other week on a Friday and all three employees working behind the counter decided to go to the backroom and not come out for about 8 minutes without any explanation!!! -Sometimes they don't have supplies such as labels or boxes for priority mail. If not at a post office, where am I supposed to get these supplies from??? -Understaffed. read more

I wish they were not my local post office. While they are great at holding my packages, they frequently omit leaving the Orange slip so I have to do my own recognizance work. Furthermore, the carrier will jam so much stuff into the box that it jams the lock-- we have had to break into the box and have the lock replaced too many times ( despite asking/calling about not shoving packages that do not fit into the box-- and subsequently get damaged as well!). I am not sure why the carrier doesn't always attempt to knock on my door? I always get the same response when I call -- " wait for your carrier by your box to discuss this with them" Who has time for that? Why is that necessary????? read more

No self serve kiosk so you have to wait for a long time to get served. Lots of people waiting and usually 1 person servicing. Picking up packages is the worst experience. I've been to this post office 4 times in the last couple of months and had good, pleasant experiences each time (3 were in the morning and the other just before closing on a weekday). A couple of the visits were during the Christmas shipping season, and this post office seemed to deal with the rush pretty well. Definitely more consistently efficient and much cleaner than Morningside or Triborough which have both previously been my local post offices. The only thing missing is one of those self serve kiosks - which can be handy during busy hours. read more

The postal employees based here don't even bother trying to deliver packages, leaving pink "delivery attempted" slips in my tiny mailbox instead. To pick up these packages, the line is always very long and there's almost always only one or two employees servicing the line, so it takes forever. The clerks and delivery people who work at this location work very hard at trying to do nothing at all, consequentially making their job harder and their service very poor. Two packages in the same week seem to have been brought to my building, yet not delivered to my door. It appears the deliverer on both occasions decided to not knock on my door and hand my packages to me, but rather inspect the mailbox to see if the parcels would fit. Knowing they obviously would not, the lazy person left a slip notifying of attempt to deliver and for me to pick the packages up at the post office location. Both times this happened, once on Friday then later on the following Wednesday, for two different deliveries. I was home so it's odd that both times I didn't hear my doorbell ring. When I went to pick up the first package on Monday, the clerk told me she simply couldn't find my package in the back and that I could wait or comeback later. I asked her could she have it re delivered and she said yes. The next day, knowing that the re delivery was probably a hoax I went back and picked my package up. The following Thursday, when I noticed my second delivery attempt had been covertly made, I went back and again the clerk could not find my package. I received an attitude when I suggested that they had lost my package, as if there were multiple definitions for the word lost. I was offered to speak to a supervisor which I accepted. The supervisor came out and immediately found my package and I was relieved. The problem happened when I told the clerk who couldn't find it about what happened on Monday. She told me that these things just happen. I told her that it simply shouldn't happen. She replied with a poor suggestion that I come work for the post office and help to make a difference. This location is poorly run and some of the clerks need help learning how to deal with people and to be trained properly on how to do their job. read more

This post office is disgusting! I went there three days in a row to pick up what I bought through Amazon. First of all, their window for receiving packages is always closed so that I had to make a long line all the time. The first two days, they said they will will have it tomorrow and the third day, the guy I spoke to said "we can't find it" after looking for my package for around 5 min and sent me to one of many closed windows saying "wait here, the supervisor is looking for your package". I waited around 20 min and finally a woman that's called "supervisor" showed up saying " we can't find yours, put your phone# here and I will call you". I asked her by when she calls me. She answered "today". She seemed so frustrated, pissed me off. (Btw, there's one more guy waiting in this window before me. He said he is waiting in front of this window for 3 hours!!) I went back home without complaining and waited for her call but of course she did't call me. The post office closes at 5 pm. I called the post office around 4:30 to see how it's going and a woman answers. I told her that I need to talk to the supervisor, pending for 10 min, the supervisor answers. But when I started talking she said "hold on" and pending again then she hung up without saying anything! I called them again, a woman answers, I already gave up talking to the supervisor and explained the situation. I told her the trucking number, in one minute, she found my package saying if you wanna come pick this up, we are open until 5 pm. So I went. I made a long line again. After finally talking to a woman in the window, she left to look for my package. In 3 min, she came back saying, "we don't have yours". I was about to faint. I squeeze out my voice saying "your supervisor said she found it". She left again and came back with the box. No apology. No apology from anyone... Because it's a government job? Crazy...
