Terrible UPS office -- do NOT recommend. I came in to solve a very simple task: print a document. That turned out to be impossible. Almost nothing works in this location. Around 70% of the keys on the keyboard are broken, making it impossible to type anything properly. Printing documents does not work at all. The only positive point is the employee -- he genuinely tried his best to help me, and I'm very grateful to him. This is not his fault. The problem is the office itself: broken equipment, poor organization, and an inability to provide even basic services. I strongly recommend avoiding this location. read more

I needed to have an estate document notarized and I went to this UPS store for assistance. When I arrived a little after 8am there was no one customer in the store. I asked what time the notary will arrive and the service agent informed me that the notary will arrive at 9am. I did not want to walk home and walk all the way back so I said I will just wait. 20 minutes go by and no customers comes in and then it suddenly gets very busy with package drop-offs. Around 40 minutes later no customers are left in the store but me and the service agent. I then ask the service agent if the notary ever arrives a little early or if they tend to arrive a few minutes late. It was about 3 minutes to 9am. He says,'"He's usually on time." At 9am exactly the service agent says, "How can I help you? I am the notary." Is this simpleton for real? He had me stand there for almost an hour for nothing? I asked him why would he do something so rude? The store was empty when I arrived and he had me stand there for almost 40 minutes. He says, "I start notary at 9am." What a compete moron. I would avoid this store because anyone that lacks that amount of common courtesy and common sense is a threat and a menace to the community. Clearly he suffers from some form of mental defect. I will never go to that store ever again. What a complete idiot. Avoid this UPS Store at all costs. read more

I needed to send a flat poster back to our house in Nevada from New York City. Literally a show poster. It should've been shipped in a flat box. No thicker than a quarter inch or so. These jokers put the flat paper poster inside a bunch of bubble wrap and a giant box and charge me $100. Once I receive the package I realized I had been had. There was a big line in order to get into the store, so I wasn't about to argue with the clerk once I got to the counter. Make sure you get what you need not what they think you need. read more

Seriously, the worst UPS store I have ever came across with the worst customer service. Came here twice and I didn't like the vibe on either visit. The first time was to return an Amazon package last summer and the second visit was this Saturday afternoon to print 2 copies of paper. These people are thieves and lazyyy. Not only are the surface and items on display dusty, I literally told the lady that I need to print 2 copies of paper when entering the store, and she directed me to use the computer on the side. I asked her how to use it and she told me to click on "start here" and follow the instructions. The instruction after was to insert the credit card, I inserted it, and it started charging my card right away and I pull it out in less than 10 seconds because I don't need the internet however it already charged $3. I asked her for a refund and even thought she saw me inserted my card in and pulled it out in less than 10 seconds, she said she can't do refund because it's the computer... I'm like... what do you mean? So the computer is not part of UPS? And she didn't answer. When I called my credit card to dispute it, they said it's $5 they charged. At the end of the day, it's not the money but the ethnics. Save yourself the time and visit the UPS store at 57th, between 8th and 9th, as well as the UPS store at Tribeca. read more

All I wanted was a light bubble protection envelope to go from New York to LA in 5 days to get there for Valentine's Day, they said okay and charged me $20. It did not arrive on time. I've ordered from Korea and got my stuff in 3 days. UPS sucks. Regular 1st class USPS would've got there with no extra charge. Do not use UPS. Ashley rocked. Came in for a notary without an appointment and saw a huge line.... So was worried except the following all happened in the course of 15 minutes: 1) she finished shipping what looked like 20 big flat packages with handwritten addresses for a really detail oriented guy - then gave him a plastic bag to take the one he couldn't ship back to another location 2) she helped a confused woman print and then was compassionate that after printing 3 pages she had to leave to get the fax address (and may or may not come back) 3) she sold some tape and an envelope to a friendly couple 4) she scanned a package and gave the guy a receipt 5) she answered the phone twice and gave advice and instructions 6) she shipped a router for a guy who literally discussed and considered all shopping options (he was very concerned that his brother in Washington state has good internet) 7) she managed a frustrated customer who wound up having to buy a mailer for his return and shipped his package 8) she told a guy where to drop his boxes nicely even after he was a bit rude to her about having guy #1s packages all on the counter 9) she notarized 3 documents for me and my wife and sold us an envelope Please give her a raise or a UPS medal or a truck or something. Said "it's only this busy when I'm working alone" but sheesh. So good. Thanks!! read more

You have got the worst customer experience in the store I've ever encountered. To return a package I had to log into a computer that I don't know or trust and have to login to my email which I have no proof that you're going to l protect and on top of it you have to charge me for the time when you could just scan the barcode and be done. Huge markup because this store isn't actually owned and operated by UPS. It's a franchise and they add their own markup to the price UPS charges. Went to ship a basic 8 pound package, the quote got from the UPS website was around 18 dollars, but when I went to the store, the bill I ended up paying was 30 after taxes. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and order/print the shipping label and pay on the UPS website from home, the just use this UPS store as a drop off. Also the employees don't know how to prioritize their customers, you have old ladies inside the store fumbling around for 20 minutes trying to write a check when there's a line of a dozen people outside who just need to come in for 30 seconds to drop off a package. The UPS store needs to manage this flow better. read more

Irresponsible and lacking in accountability I posted package on May 9th using express 2-3 day delivery. Package reaches their Canada warehouse on May 12th and after that there is no update. When I called them after 5 days they indicated it might be lost and will start an investigation that will take another 8 days. There is no escalation process, lack of accountability between UPS shipping location and UPS Corporate, poor customer service because they cannot do anything. UPS did not try to take any steps to redress the problem and did not show any care for the losses I had to incur. Will never use them again. read more

Made an appointment online to get my transfer-of-deed notarized. Stated that as the reason for the appointment when I set it up. So my wife and I both take off work early so we can get this done, we get there, and the guy tells me "we notarize some things, but not deeds". This despite the fact that the UPS website says no such thing -- it lists a variety of documents that may need notarization, including deeds. The only limitation noted is that some stores don't notarize I9 employment forms (completely unrelated to deeds). Extremely frustrating, terrible service. read more

I needed something notorized and made an appointment on-line 4 days in advance, when I got there I was told they didn't have a notary. I understand the times were are living in but when I was told they don't even check online appointments right now I was floored. Last Thursday I went to this UPS Store, which incidentally is a complete pig sty, to get two passport photos. I specifically asked for two photos for a UK passport. The guy took the photo's printed them, I checked them and they looked good and so I paid for them and left. When I got back to my office I measured them and they were too big, they were US passport sized photos. I called the UPS Store and spoke to a helpful man who said I should come back in and we'll get them replaced. So far so good. So yesterday I go to the store with the photos and receipt and explain to the woman working there what happened. She immediately gets on the defensive and tells me that she remembers me coming in and says "we axsk you if you need international photos and you say you di'int", I say that I would obviously have said that I do need international sized passport photos because I need them for a UK pasport and that I specificaly asked for photos for a UK passport. "But I axsk you and you said no". She's lying at this point because I didn't even speak to her, I was being helped by a man. I then explain that I spoke to a manager on the phone and he said to come in and they'll take the photos again. She tells me she is the manager. She's lying again. So I suck it up, get the photos taken because I do need them urgently. I was going to use UPS to send the materials to Washington for my new passport but I went to the post office instead. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. Back-story: I received a product from Amazon.com which was defective. Contacted Amazon and was provided with a pre-paid label and instructions to affix the label to the box and "simply" drop it off at the UPS store. Unfortunately, the carrier had damaged the original Amazon box, so I went to UPS armed with the re-sealed product and pre-printed label. Walked in, asked for a box, was met with a blank stare and asked, "What size?" Should have been my first clue. I'm no expert on what size box fits what - isn't that why YOU work here? So this guy measures the item's box and determines what size I need. He points to my original box and says, "There's a $2 charge to tape this box up." Huh? I wasn't asking anyone to tape my original item's box. I said I didn't need my box taped, to which the OTHER nasty employee at the register snidely said, "So he (yes- he referred to me as "he" in front of my face) doesn't want a packaging fee. It's 6.99 for the box and 3.99 for tape. AND YOU CAN'T PACKAGE IT UP INSIDE THIS STORE." What?! Huh? I was absolutely bewildered. All I wanted was to purchase a box, pack it up, and affix the label. I never said I didn't want a packaging "fee" (although I do think that's absurd); merely that I didn't need tape for my original box. On top of that - you're the UPS store - you're telling me I can't buy materials and package something on your premises?! What ASS-BACKWARDS policy it that? I'm a paying customer. Clearly, it's a racket to make extra money. Well, no thank you. I walked out and bought a box and tape for $5 at the Staples up the block. They actually offered to take care of the package for me, without my even asking. (yay!) read more

When I got there they told me that the notary doesn't work on Tuesdays and that I would have to come back tomorrow. The store is small, but the service is top notch! I've been to this place many times over the years and never had the issues some of the previous reviewers described. I went to the Post Office, located a block away, to get my passport pictures. I had to wait for more than half hour and the pictures came out horrible. So, I decided to take a chance and get the pictures done at this UPS store and they came out great (actually made me look 10 years younger lol). This UPS is incredible. Mainly due to the customer service. My building itself doesn't have a doorman and so my packages were repeatedly being stolen as the mailman left them all out in the open. This UPS seemed like a great option! I've been renting a mailbox (apt) here for over a year. Everyone who works here is extremely helpful and organized! Sometimes I walk in and they go get my package for me before I even get to my mailbox! They are very well mannered as well. On one event I did have a package missing and the gentleman checked in the back three times for me. I left checking the delivery address on my order again and realized I had only put 888 instead of 888C! So it was my fault as I put the wrong address down. I found the package just a few doors down. WORST SERVICE IN NYC. Do not come to this store if you are looking to have a successful transaction. I mailed some paints that the staff failed to pack strong enough for the paints to not get damage. The situation was handle extremely poorly. The staff told me it was insured for the amount I thought would cover the expenses for damages and then when it did get damaged, they changed their mind. Not to mention, they never once told me it got damaged. I had to do all the researching on my own. The manager is completely incompetent and does not have any training on costumer service. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE TO SEND YOUR PACKAGE. read more

A high value and accordingly extra insured package that was supposed to be shipped overnight never left the location, and is still missing. It was clearly stolen, it never made it to any truck. Probably by one of the two employees that heard me ask for the extra insurance, which was in the thousands. Obviously do not ship anything of any value there, because the employees have sticky fingers. I will be going to small claims court with this one.
