These USPS workers at this post office are fortunate to be behind a safe glass considering they deserve an ssA whooping for disrespecting and refusing my elderly mother service on 4/18/2025. I had to wait out the entire weekend until 4/21/2025 to press this entire USPS office and its nasty, rude workers because USPS doesn't hold them accountable since they're parasites protected by the state . My blood was boiling from anger, with how upset and dissatisfied these USPS workers made my mother, I had no choice but to show up in person and press this entire office. My mother is not a rude elderly woman, and she is certainly not tech savvy like the younger generation, so she requires a bit of patience in learning how to access the QR code to print out her pre-paid shipping label. One of the USPS workers at this office had the nerve to tell my mother with a spiteful and smug attitude to "Go do it yourself" because her primary language is Spanish. My mother at least tried to communicate with the USPS worker in English and got denied service anyways. Ridgewood is a generational, immigrant dominant community, so to act like this USPS office has no employees who speak Spanish to help provide quality service to my mother who was only there to print out the pre-paid label and drop off her package, is distasteful and every employee at this USPS should be fired. USPS is funded through taxpayer money and both my mother and I have done our duties as U.S. CITIZENS in paying our taxes. It is THEIR JOB as PUBLIC EMPLOYEES to serve the American public who pays them. One time their label printer in the self service machine wasn't working(happens often!), so I asked someone(short Hispanic lady) at the desk to print the label, and she did. She looked annoyed, but she did it. And THEN, it happened again on a different day, and this different person(large black lady) at the desk said she can't do that, I have to go to the pharmacy across the street and pay $4 to print this damn thing. I told her they've printed it for me before and she just had this shitty attitude and refused. I try so hard to be nice to any employee anywhere because I'm not a dick. But her attitude in an attempt to be lazy was soooo frustrating. As I left the building she even shouted "this girl trying to tell me how to do my job, the f*ck I look like?" I just ignored it but was sooo close to shouting back "A postal worker! You look like someone who works at the post office!" I did end up just doing the pharmacy thing, but I regret not pushing further and asking for a supervisor, because wtf?? Very unprofessional staff, was amazed a particular lady was still working there despite some bold remarks

A package of mine was marked as not delivered due to there being "nowhere secure" despite the fact that I've had many packages delivered with no problem to my apartment. The package was sent to this post office for pickup and i knew i was in for a shitty ride. I re scheduled delivery for Monday 9/22 and it's not Friday 9/26 and i haven't received it. I also filed a service request that was "resolved" to make the redelivery 9/26 but this morning the tracking number once again said available for pickup instead of redelivery scheduled. This post office needs to pay their workers better or hire more workers or something because everyone is always miserable and apparently are incapable of doing their only job. read more

Zero stars need to be an option. I just waited 30 minutes in line to arrive at the counter and be told 'they don't scan in packages or give receipts'. I was then told I had to scan in my packages at self service and drop it off. I mentioned that I would like a receipt as my packages were international ones that I would like proof I dropped it off. You can't even scan international packages at self service... the machine tells you to proceed to the counter. Then the woman proceeded to scream at me from the counter that she's been working at the post office for 10 years and never scanned a package in and given someone a receipt... ???! Am I living in another dimension or is this not the WHOLE POINT OF A POST OFFICE?!? After 10 years of sending packages both domestically and internationally via USPS, and getting a receipt for every sent package and proof of exchange of hands, I've never witnessed refusal of service. While one clerk weighed and measured my package with one price quote. Another clerk weighed and measured the same package with a different quote. The cash I handed over was counted wrong. I'm pretty sure I gave her more than she counted. When I asked for the manager to dispute the difference in price quotes, the same package was weighed and measured again with an additional $10 fee attached. The managers solution was sending me away to mail with any one of their competitors. This location is Shady with Fraudulent practices. Please ignore the very fake FEW positive reviews on here. I'm starting to think this location only hires criminals and drug addicts. I was threatened by a teller today all because I asked her a VERY simple question. She proceeded to act irrational (most likely on drugs) and threaten to "beat me up". This location is lucky I did not call the cops. Very scary behavior and the other tellers were enabling her bad behavior. Btw, all I asked was "Can this box be shipped here", and she answered with "Are you stupid? Do you not know how to use google?", and then proceeded to curse me out. Yup, frightening response to a simple question. I don't even want to come back and will now have to resort to going to a farther location. Honestly, ZERO stars. They supposedly attempted to deliver 2 packages and left a notice. There was no notice left behind and that was their final delivery attempt. The next day, they first claimed another attempt was made at 9:30 AM. I was home and the blinds were open, so it was very obvious someone was available for packages. It was later changed to pick up only at 9:30 AM instead. What shipping company only makes 1 "delivery attempt"??? We have 3 post offices in 11385 zip code! Which one do I go to? I hate this place. The mail carrier that dropped off my parcel to this location. Her name is Yvonne. Incompetent as they come. If you think I've got attitude, meet the employees at this branch. Yeah. They suck. Don't believe me? Allow me to introduce to you evidence. Their pick-up window is full of scattered slips and private residential mail. Total disorganization. Last time I was there, someone's letter from the I.R.S. slid through the window, and could easily be reached THROUGH THE CUSTOMER'S SIDE. Hope you like getting the run around - this office is understaffed, and it's obviously taking a toll on the workers here. The phones appear to always be some combination or super busy or off the hook and you're going to get contradictory information from USPS corporate and different workers in this office. Given that you ordered something and it's supposedly stuck here: do yourself the favor and call whatever company your ordered it from. They can probably recall it and get it to you with more ease than USPS. read more

Poking your eyes out with toothpicks is more pleasurable than doing business with these guys. I have a carrier on his route a package and instead of delivering it they sat on it for fifteen days. I only knew when I was charged five hundred dollars that the receiver didn't get it. I tried to call by week two and if would ring then someone would answer then hang up. I sometimes spent three hours trying to reach someone. When I did it was someone who was new (explained why she was nice and answered) and found the package and tisked saying the fact it wasn't delivered disgusting. She said she would deliver it. Cut to the next day and I actually can swing by... not mailed. Besides that every one I dealt with was nasty and mean when I was just asking for my package back! It wasn't until I snapped and said I would report them for theft that they finally assisted. They refused to provide me with proof that they had it since the 31st so now I'm potentially down half a thousand because of their failure and lack of wanting to spend three minutes making it right. How the heck hasn't management looked into their conduct there?! Don't bother calling their corporate number it's always three hours or more wait. Literally use any service that isn't usps. Walk cross country and deliver it yourself if you have to or,again, poke your eyes out. read more

I've frequented many a NYC post office, and so far this seems to be the best one. They were actually aware that postcard stamps exist! Score! The teller was actually also pretty friendly, go figure! The service here is absolutely horrible. I went to send a package to a friend in manhattan, NY and after I had sent it, she told me that one of the numbers in the address is wrong. So I immediately went back about 20 mins after I had gone and when I was next in line to change the address with the same cashier (clerk 61), she said she was going to lunch and walked away so she didn't have to fix our issue. So then we went the the next available chashier and she said she couldn't help us because the packages were already gone. That was a complete lie because I had just gone and we waited on the line which was long, therefore I know my package was still available to change the address. Every single employee in this post office is very lazy. It sucks that this is the closest postal service I have near where I live, but if you can avoid going to this location, do yourself a favor. With a passion, I hate this place. The lines are always long and everything takes FOREVER! There are 3 people in line in front of me to pick up a package in the middle of the day and that is taking 20 minutes... why?!?!?!?!??! First of, I choose to use this Post Office because it's the only one in my area, and the pricing of USPS is so much better than UPS or FedEx. Unfortunately, this location lacks on all levels. The location itself is old, worn out and tiny. Being how it's the only post office in the area, there is a lot of action at this location. The lines are ridiculous and sometimes out the door. The operational aspect of this post office is also out of whack and creates unnecessary delays. The service is beyond terrible. There is not one staff member at this location that actually cares nor do they look like they enjoy their jobs. Most times there is not even a "hello" when you approach the window. There is also no drop off area for prepaid packages and they won't accept them at the window unless you wait in line, therefore you have to wait in line to hand over your PREPAID package. The only reason for the 2 stars is the pricing. Like I said, USPS is the best prices shipping provider and for a small business that's so important. Probably the second most depressing place I've ever been (the first was an Aldi's super market in upstate New York). It's so bad, that I worry about the health of the people who have to work here. This post office looks like it was trashed about 15 years ago and has yet to be cleaned up or repaired. All interactions with the staff happen through several inch thick bulletproof glass. I'm certain there are prisons with less security. Despite having what appears to be a full staff, I've never waited for less than 15 minutes in line here. I have actually slowed down my purchasing from companies who use the post office as their carrier to avoid the headaches I know I will get from having to go through this post office. Listen up Amazon. If you have a two day shipping window extend your expectations of delivery to at least 7 days and look out for those invisible pink slips that tell you that they attempted to deliver to you after business hours. If you are lucky enough to reach the station manager, she will delightfully tell you that your business is the last on their route and there is nothing they can do, unless we want to pay an additional fee to them for a more timely delivery. There is an extraordinary turn over of mail carriers who I know are met with constant complaints. Shame on the US Postal service. I use this post office cause is close to my apartment. Which is very unfortunate!! The customer service here is HORRIBLE! The girls that work there are rude which is expected after all its a city job. As far as being helpful.... you might as well forget it! I honesty believe the workers there are lazy and will try any trick in the book to turn you away!!! I understand the pay is probably bad but come on it is a job after all!! Normally it's the ignorant patrons that make this post office such a nightmare. Whether they are using priority materials on non priority packages or trying to send something in a Fed Ex box, they are utterly useless and will ensure you a long wait. It's because of these dolts (who usually come in groups of 2 or 3, because apparently it takes that many people to send a package or buy stamps) that the line is snaking around the counter and usually almost out the door. To add to the atmosphere, there is a crackling radio straight out of the 70s and a sprinkling of screeching/screaming children throughout the line. Hopefully you are not waiting in line to retreive a pacakge, because the USPS associate will most certainly come back empty-handed and tell you that they don't have it. They will then ask you the approximate size of what you are expecting, go back and check again and this time possibly come back with the package. Oh and don't forget to bring some pocket change with you (as if sending a package hasn't gotten expensive enough!) because there is almost always a pan-handler who will open the doors (and expect payment for this service) as you to enter/exit this certain hell. read more

Honestly, this is probably the only thing I'll ever use yelp for simply to tell you about the service at this post office. Sometimes you'll be met with a friendly young person who looks like they're in their early 20's, they'll help you and greet you with a smile. Now the older people who work there are an absolute nightmare to deal with. They have snarky looks, will make up new rules just to turn you away, and speak to you in the most disgusting attitude. There is one particular woman that every regular will try their best to avoid, even letting you go in front of them in the line just to avoid confrontation with her. She treats younger customers even worse including myself. I will leave 2 stars because I have hope that when younger people get jobs there and the older people are gone the post office will finally be a place I don't dread going to. read more
