I mailed a package to my son and it has been sent back and forth from this facility to Albuquerque distribution center six times. It was processed to return to sender on December 20 but it has been back-and-forth back-and-forth back-and-forth. I tried to call this post office and they hung up on me immediately they did not answer. They just picked up the phone and hung it up, bad customer service. They do not pay attention to the address or mark the packages correctly or do their jobs correctly. UPS had no problem getting a package to my son. This USPS has been nothing but trouble! These past three years, this USPS has become less than worthless. When I order something to be shipped that is bigger than a coffee mug that doesn't allow me to select a courier, and then get a USPS tracking number, I know that the package will not be delivered. The tracking information says "We attempted to deliver your item at 5:18 pm on October 10, 2024 in SANTA FE, NM 87507 and a notice was left because no secure delivery location was available." But the didn't even load the package on a truck, and they didn't leave a note in my box. I would be less frustrated if the update didn't lie and just said, "we were too lazy and incompetent to deliver your package, and you need come get it yourself," but they go the extra step of pretending they tried. Pitiful. My mail carrier often stuffs packages in small box for mail in envelopes, thus jamming the box and preventing me from opening with my key. Notes to unnamed and deliver pkg to my door or place in parcel lockbox are ignored. No published phone number for branch postal offices in Santa Fe. So must make trip across town to overcrowded, understaffed facility. I am 70+ years old and mobility handicapped, making this very difficult and dangerous. The crowded parking lot often with no available handicapped parking places, plus standing with no place to sit for slow, long lines of disgruntled customers. This is an update to my review as now this is the 4thr time dealing with the same issue that my carrier just doesn't deliver my mail and no one can explain why. So far, in the last two months , several checks (with documentation sent via my email ) were sent to my Pacheco St. box were never put in my Pacheco St. Box. The latest and most stressful is my replacement bank card, which I sorely need.I received a notice from my bank more than three weeks ago stating the replacement card was in the mail. I am currently in Mexico with no means to acquire cash using a bank card, as of course, US checks are not accepted here. My friend checks my Santa Fe mail regularly. I called the office numerous times and no one picked up the phone. I wonder if a Pacheco St. employee throws mail away when they get weary of filling boxes? Is that not a crime? My first experience after moving into my apartment was a package for was left on my neighbor's porch. The package had been opened and the contents stolen. There was a sticker on the package from the post office that said damaged, so the post man just dumped it the wrong address. Since then the mailman delivers mail to my mail box, but if there is mail is mail in the box to pick up it's ignored. read more

Aggressively poor service. Good news about the poor ratings there was a very short line. But even as a lifelong USPS customer, I was not able to get a short piece of tape to secure an outgoing envelope. I didn't need a $4 roll. Just had a postal worker reject a package for some made-up logic that "made sense to (him)." Really need IQ tests here. Shipping a bomb is one thing, but shipping a drawing of a bomb is completely different. One should be rejected, but the other should be perfectly fine. But some knuckleheads think they are the same. The package was rejected (get this) because of a STICKER that was on the box! He was worried that it represented what was inside the box (it didn't). The issue? A tiny battery, but there WAS NO battery. THAT'S why it was being returned! And 3 of these items were JUST SHIPPED to me via USPS!!! Working himself right out of a job. read more

The place looks like it's been looted. There are zero boxes or mailing materials available & the kiosk's printer is broken, so I can't mail a package or buy postage. I am not sure what everyone else is taking about. I use this Post Office a couple of times a week. everyone I have interactions with are helpful and efficient. While I may have issues with how the Postal system is managed, that is hardly the problem of particular branches much less the individual employees. Service is abysmal. Management is terrible, and there are no repercussions for poor mail delivery. My mail comes out of the Federal Plaza branch. I have been in Santa Fe only a year, and have already had four problems in getting mail. Once, I found out that I had about six month's worth of mail bundled in a corner of the Federal Place branch. No wonder I was missing mail. I even had tracking numbers for three of the pieces of mail. The staff doesn't care about missing mail. They make little effort to fix problems. Thee Worst Post Office in the Nation . . . hands down! Why you ask? Let's start with the wait and the customer service: The wait is around 20-30minutes. Most of the staff is rude and unprofessional. I had 'Sparky'. He was extremely rude and worked inefficiently with no sense of urgency. Sparky had all day but I did not. For example, when I told him the wait was unacceptable he told me, "Go back where you came from!" How professional and hospitable Sparky! Having lived around the world, I'm not accustomed to this type of unacceptable customer service. There are numerous reviews on Google regarding the rude and subpar customer service experiences at the Pacheco Street post office. The Pacheco Street post office is a prime example as to why post offices should be privatized!! Then maybe employees like 'Sparky' will realize that without customers he does not have a job. The place is obviously short staffed and lines are always long here. So, before heading out, mentally prepare yourself for a long wait unless you are able to use the self-service machine (which has been out of order twice over the last few months). Santa Fe needs to build some more post offices, there are not a lot of them offered (which by the way, two of them are hidden in malls)! The postal attendant was rude, rude, rude to another customer. After waiting in a long line, a customer goes up to the counter without being told to do so and you'd think the innocent customer killed the postal attendant's first born child! The postal attendant just started complaining to me (who DID wait to be called) about the customer. I understand that customers can get annoying but there is no excuse to openly vent about your dissatisfaction about customers at the front counter. Besides, you are government employee who has a cushy job, competitive wages, good health benefits, pension, and other perks, so I don't feel sorry for you!! If you don't like your job, quit. Last year when I would order online the packages would be in the mailbox lockers but this year the mail lady sends the orange slips in the mailbox so I have to go to the post office which is a 30 minute drive and it seems like everyone has the same issue. I wish I could give zero stars. This place is supposed to be open until 4 pm on Saturday. Nope!! I got here at 8 minutes to 4 and the place is closed up tight. Not one single box, envelope or label in the self serve kiosk and they are not even supposed to be closed yet. At least 10 more people came in when I did or right after and looked around in bewilderment. One lady let out a choice epithet. I muttered mine under my breath and wandered around not quite believing that there is an entire self serve machine with a long line and not one single post office envelope or box in the entire place. Come on people, this is a government service!! I too would give them less than one star if possible. For Christmas one year I received a perishable package on February 1, marked with several dates on it, but delivery was never attempted. The manager I talked to really didn't act like he cared. I live outside of Santa Fe and continually receive notices that delivery was attempted for (usually very small) boxes, but it has not been -- I was home all day, or it could have been put in the parcel box at my mailbox. The supervisor says that should not be happening, but I'm currently waiting 4 days for a redelivery that was again not attempted. I would rate less than one star if possible. Since last spring 2015, I have had to call five times because John, a mailman, never delivers the mail on the date it is due when vacation holds expire. Not only that, but I have to call to get my mail delivered. I have now talked wtih three supervisors who have all said they would talk with John.. Today they were going to hand-deliver my mail asap due to it being over two days late, but then they called me three hours later stating they had nobody available to deliver it so I could come in and pick it up. Last spring, before ever speaking with supervisors, I spoke to John directly and he said I should come pick it up when I am gone so long and argued with me that I was gone longer than 2 weeks (it was 10 days). I asked why does the USPS website give you the option to have it delivered if that is not an option. His supervisor did not agree with him. If this was a private business they would be out of business. Unfortunately, this service I am working and paying taxes for does not provide the basic service it is required to do - deliver mail! How difficult is that for a mailman to do? I guess it does not attract the best and the brightest or it is too hard to fire inept government employees. read more

OK, going to the post office is never a treat and having lived in cities for most of my adult life, I am used to waiting in lines. I did not find this post office to be much different than most others I have been in, so I am not certain why people are so down on it. Anyway, I did have to wait about 30 minutes, but when I did get to the counter the post person was very sweet--certainly as sweet as anyone should be expected to be when she stands in the same spot for eight hours and deals with dozens of annoyed patrons. I have had 8 packages not be delivered because the driver can't be bothered to get out of their car.
