Came to this post office to mail Valentine's Day cards and was told by the post office employee that they didn't know how many stamps I should use. I mail cards at least once a month and I have never been told that the amount of stamps could not be determined. Unnecessarily rude service. I was being nice and just asking normal questions and the guy said "I'm done answering question's." Extremely poor customer service skills, he had no reason to be offended. This concluded my association with the US Postal Service. I used to defend them all the time among friends and such, and was against all the postal service budget cuts but I'm done. I can get my VA meds handled through Medicare and shipped to a pharmacy. For the VA, IRS and Social Security I can mange it all online. Amazon I can have shipped to Whole Foods or other drop off points. And I've had a lot of poor service with USPS with Amazon service anyways. I can't think of a single thing I need the USPS for tbh. The post office is in a historical building and totally retro. It's a beautiful building, and there are plenty of PO boxes available. The one employee who was working there was very nice and tried to be super helpful to everybody. Unfortunately he was the only one working the counter there during the holidays which doesn't make any sense, and it only took one customer with a tough issue that needed to be delt with to turn it into a long line and a long wait. read more

Why is this facility even here? They are worthless! I order from Amazon so that packages can be delivered to my door. I am elderly and cannot lift boxes. This facility does not deliver Amazon boxes to the door. I've complained to Amazon. I live within the city limits. Down I go to pick up my oversized packages. They don't offer to help me, and when I asked for assistance they said I could use their cart. But I can't lift the box into my car!! That's why I order from Amazon!! To make matters worse, I used the cart, but the automatic door opener didn't work. So a very nice lady who happened to be in the post office as well helped me with the door. What a crappy place. Lazy and disinterested. One star doesn't say it loud enough. Not good? Awful, embarrassing, disgusting service. Close it down and be gone with it. read more

Nope, you have to have a physical address in the area you are moving to in order to open a box there. Asinine! And whats worse is you have to have 2 forms of id showing said physical address. This Post Office has never been good, but lately, they have simply STOPPED DELIVERING THE MAIL. I track my shipments and they are in town for delivery, but I am lucky if I see the mail carrier once per week. Neither the phone number nor the fax machine are ever answered. I stopped in the other day to buy stamps and let them know that I have not received my mail for four business days. Honestly, when I looked up the address for this post office on Yelp, I could not understand how a post office could have a two star review. But after waiting for 30 minutes in line with 10 other people, and having the guy be an absolute jerk when I got up to the counter, I understand how there could be a one star review for a post office. I wasn't the first person he was rude to either. The man behind the counter ruled over his postal domain like his power was all encompassing. Despite me providing a USPS document dated April 2019 which stated that my intended items were indeed media mail, he refused to let me. And he was really rude about it. I've been to post offices around the US and had plenty of surly assistance provided there, but this guy takes the cake. Turns out, I can just go to a different post office and mail my stuff. No questions asked there and polite service rendered. I really feel for the poor folks who have to use this post office as their main mailing station. Totally sad for them. read more

I thought it was just happening to me, but after reading most of the reviews, I see we're all being held hostage by a poorly managed and staffed post office system. My mail isn't getting delivered and also going to the old address after 2 years. I've filled out 3 Change of Address forms. I stopped our postman and told him I'm not getting mail and he said, "If I'm off that day, and someone else is assigned my route... If they can't find the address, they just mark it 'No Such Address' and take it back to the post office." Held hostage... And no one's coming to help. read more

An audit of this branch is necessary. Mail is repeatedly misplaced and missing. It miraculously appears when complaints are made. Service is abysmal. Management is terrible; there are no repercussions for poor mail delivery. My mail comes out of the Federal Plaza branch. I have been in Santa Fe for two years and have already had at least five major problems in getting mail. Once, I found out that I had about six month's worth of one year old mail (my mail and the mail of the last homeowner) bundled in a corner of the Federal Place branch. No wonder I was missing mail. Repeatedly, the tracking system sends me a "Delivered" message, but packages have not been delivered at all. They show up a few days later (after I make calls and visit this the branch looking for the package). The mail carrier is reporting tracked packages as "delivered" when in fact he has not done so. On three other occasions, my packages went missing even though I had tracking numbers. The staff makes little effort to fix problems. The sense I get is that there are no repercussions--so they feel no pressure to fix things. Lastly, I read several references to the rudeness of the staff. It's been my experience as well. I have had to visit this branch many times in search for missing tracked mail. Most employees at the front desk are very rude. When they bring out a supervisor (there have been several), he has usually been polite and at least tried to help. However, it's going on two years, and none of the supervisors have been able to fix the problem of misplaced or missing mail and packages. read more

In Santa Fe at the WorldMark Santa Fe. Within walking distance of the Plaza SO we decided to mail postcards since we walk right by the PO. We intended to buy postcard stamps but the line to the window was out the door!!! Probably could have gotten stamps from a machine but didn't see one and the crowd had malice on their faces so we decided to not try to squeeze through the door to look for a machine, I hate machines anyway and they don't like me either so it's mutual! Rather than wait in line forever or risk the wrath of man or machine we decided the best part of discretion was to just leave. Another lesson in poor customer relations. read more

Where is my mail going? It is not coming to my house, yet I have email notices saying I have mail arriving soon. So far in the past six months you have lost two bank cards that never arrived, so I needed to have the cards delivered to the bank instead to receive my card. It took me almost two months to get a card for my checking account. Now my DMV driver's license is lost in your mail space. And the DMV wants to mail everything to a physical address. We're staying in Santa Fe only about 5 blocks from this Post Office so decided to walk by and mail some postcards on our way to visit the Traders on the Plaza. We wanted to purchase some postcard stamps but the line was out the door! We just mailed our cards with some Forever Stamps I had in my purse. It is very disappointing that the Post Offices in larger cities are not up to par when meeting the publics needs. We live in a small town in the Midwest and our post office meets our needs including hand stamping when we ask. The Union Station Post Office in Kansas City cannot meet all needs either... Horrible. Delivery is unreliable (carriers often just don't deliver the mail, especially on Fridays when they want to quit early and ESPECIALLY if there is a long weekend starting), and the people at the counter are deadpan, disengaged, unresponsive and as close to flat out rude as they can get away with, and as slooooooowwww as any "customer service" I've ever received anywhere. And the office is understaffed. The main post office in a city of 80,000 with most often ONE line open. But, three suggestions for all my fellow sufferers: First, get "Informed delivery" and you'll get an email everyday of the mail that is supposed to be delivered. That way you can PROVE that the carrier didn't deliver it. I am experiencing delivery issues at 100 Rio Vista place. We have marked boxes but the currrent dellivery person puts the mail of other residents in my box and who knows where mymail goes. I notice one driver who is in a constant rush and drives very fast in this crowded community. I can only hope things will change for the better. read more

Customer service is as bad or worse here than the Guadalupe Rd location. I use the self service kiosk most often so that I can buy stamps, mail my packages, etc. and not have to stand in the habitual long lines. However, the box to put the packages in has been broken for months. Literally...months! A lady in front of me asked a clerk when the pkg dropbox would be repaired. The clerk was rude and snapped back, "It's expensive and we are trying!" (Hint: try harder!) "Put your pkgs in the regular mailbox." (Uh, most pkgs don't fit in a regular mailbox, hence the reason for a pkg drop box!) Anyone understands a week or two of something being broken and unusable, but after months, it seems downright incompetent and yes, ignorant. I gotta say - I was a little worried bringing my packages to this USPS given such poor reviews. I can't discount these reviews, and I really hope this branch is listening and doing something about it. I happened to have a very good experience this afternoon, thanks to staff members Steve and Cariña. I am moving from SAF to NY in a few days, and had three big boxes (~30lbs) to ship out. I've heard good things about shipping via USPS generally. I got there around 2:30pm on a Saturday and while I thought it closed at 4pm, it's actually 3pm FYI. Steve was kind and helpful - he told me I needed to write the to and from addies on the boxes in marker (they only print out the postage). He lent me a dolly to bring in the other boxes from my car. I got everything I needed with no issues, and was in and out within 20 minutes. There was a bit of a line but there were 2-3 people working and things moved pretty quickly. read more

I order from Amazon and every time they send through USPS, the package is always late or not delivered. I just received a note that the package was too big (I can't help that) and they asked me how to re-deliver. I said they could drop on my front porch by marking it on the note they left in my mailbox. The note has been in my mailbox for 3+ days now & the mail carrier has ignored it entirely. I tried calling the main branch and it rings & rings and then sounds like someone picks up and then hangs up. I can't get through to the Main branch and when you call the 800 # is says there is a 50-55 minute wait. They are not reliable at all. read more

Horrible customer service and incredibly rude. There is always a line and once you finally make it to the counter they seem to do everything in their power NOT to help. The last time I was there I waited in line for 30 minutes just to pick up some mail; when I finally arrived at the counter the person sitting there--Steve--told me he was leaving for lunch and walked out while I was standing there. It has been my misfortune to have had him "help" me before--even though I have the email saying I have mail to pick up on my phone in my hand and am showing it to him, he will say "It's not here." I am not sure what his problem is, but he seems perpetually distracted by teenage girls who come into the post office. So, not only is he rude and unhelpful, his leering and muttering under his breath about the girls is appalling. Since just before Christmas 2014, I have had packages missing from my post box on highway 592. Theft? Sure, but who's doing the thieving. So I got a post office box at the Tesuque station. Service there is great. However, the forwarding order handled by main SF post office personnel is ignored at least half of the time so packages are still going missing. Packages that are scanned as delivered so no collection on insurance. The latest item to go missing is my new debit card. Main office management is useless. I'm writing to my Congressman. Maybe he can convince management to see that people do their jobs without delivering my packages to themselves. read more

I was vacationing and had 2 packages to mail home. The only pleasant thing about this experience was that there was no line & very few other customers. One box was ready to go. The other was a large "flat rate" box that I needed to put together. When I asked if he had tape available the sole male clerks gruff response was "there's tape over there". I said "oh you have to purchase" to no response. Once ready ( including $3.49 for a roll of tape to close a box that post office supplies) I went through more rude conversation simply attempting to get my boxes mailed within the US. Another person came in to mail a box when I was there and went through the same profoundly rude conversation. I gave her my tape to use on her box. I also had a postcard mailing to Thailand...once receiving the stamp I asked if he could take the postcard or did I need to put it another appropriate place. His response was "I really don't care". I decided that he needed to take it for me. By then I was ready to seek a manager but decided to just go on my way! I also visited a US post office in Las Vegas NM and can only rave about the friendly face, service & conversation I experienced. My tax dollars contribute to Clerk 19s salary...so much for our tax dollars at work! read more
