They raised their rates for worse service. The people who staff this post office are probably not to blame. Louis Dejoy's mission has been to ruin the post office and it looks like he is succeeding. My family has been getting mail at this post office for decades, so it's not like we can really change our address very easily. Let's hope things turn around once they finally get Dejoy out. If you were thinking about renting a post office box here, I would recommend the UPS Store near Safeway as a much better alternative. You can get mail delivered there. read more

Our Burien USPS is always busy: very high volume. Meanwhile, the reps at the counter keep the flow moving and manage to handle every question and situation coming their way. Love this location! read more

Don't listen to these other reviews honestly. It is my humble and firm opinion that I believe that this is one of the better US PS offices it is never busy here they have one or two people working it is a small post office and the lady who works at the front counter is very friendly I actually discovered this place recently it is so close to my house and definitely way more convenient also the workers here seem to actually like their jobs they talk to you like you're an actual human being. I will take this post office over the one on 148 anytime. Fast friendly and courteous. read more

The pictured location is the problem location. Burien Post Office 609 SW 150th St, Burien, WA 98166 206-248-8647 Not the Seahurst location. At least the Seahurst location is helpful and polite. The Burien location is HORRIBLE! ZERO STARS... It's hit and miss if you get a helpful polite person or an extremely rude one. It honestly changes daily. We have had issues since our former carrier retired a couple of years ago. The sub drivers will not bring your packages to the door as instructed and requested per the station manager. The leave slips for you to have to go pick it up during the USPS hours. This station is not located on a bus route which makes it difficult when you have a disability and/or are handicapped. We have called the station manager several times with never a follow up or the person that claims to be the manager just does not care. I have been missing checks and packages that I know for a fact, have been sent that have never arrived. I have talked to the downtown Seattle location who have strongly suggested that we get the USPS postal inspector involved. I have lived in the same location over 20 years and never have had the problems we now have experienced the past two years. It's going down hill rapidly and no one at the Burien location seems to care. read more

Excellent pick-up times and the drive through is really easy. I rarely go in, but when I do - it is quicker than most and the employees don't seem overwhelmingly postal. They also have one of those helpful do-it-yourself package mailer things that I adore. read more

I chose this post office more than 4 years ago. I was okay paying the higher price for the box (higher than the Seahurst location) because the lobby hours allowed me to pick up my mail after the desk hours. I haven't picked up my mail in a couple weeks, and today, expecting to pick up my mail at my regular time- I find a sign on the door saying they were no longer allowing lobby access after 6:30PM during the week. So, now I cannot pick up my mail!! What happened? I will have to make a special trip back to Burien to pick up my mail on the weekends, if I'm available, because my work hours don't allow me to get anywhere NEAR Burien until after 7pm. I spend good money for this box every year, and now- it has become completely useless. I have no reason to give the USPS my money, they no longer provide any service from this location that I can use. In fact, IF they notified their customers they were making this change, it's probably sitting in a box I no longer have access to. There was no official forewarning that they were closing the lobby, making it impossible to access any non-manned services this rather expensive location had once offered. Anyone know of a more accessible mail pick up place in or near Burien? I really would like to support the USPS, as it is part of our countries history, but the limiting of a regularly unstaffed lobby for no apparent reason, and with no convenient option (Seahurst closes its lobby at 5:00 or 5:30pm) is changing my mind about the future of the USPS. Maybe- maybe its had its time. And now, in addition to having to find another option, I am sad for the USPS as a whole. read more

These people should be replaced with machines. At least a machine would have better manners and efficiency. Every time I come here it is either myself or another customer who is getting rude customer service from these clerks. These people should all be purged and a fresh staff needs to be hired. The lines are long, the staff is unpleasant and the parking situation is ridiculous. The person in the stock photo here on Yelp is one of those rude individuals. I went there on Oct 28 to ship a package that had a pre paid label. It is now Nov 12 and the last tracking info I have is from Oct 30, nothing has been updated. It has not been delivered. I filed it as missing mail. NOTHING. I can't help but think that it was stolen/lost within USPS. It makes me never want to ship anything valuable at USPS again. Please understand that this is not a negative review based on one experience but many incredibly awful experiences. There is something wrong with this place. I do not know if it is under bad management or if the employees here just hate their jobs, but they are all rude and extremely condescending. I know it is hard to deal with mail. I actually have a job that is very similar; nevertheless, I cannot understand how people can act the way that these people act. I have had so many occurrences when my package was not delivered. I constantly receive pink slips to come pick up my package (sometimes not even that). I have had them accuse me of having the wrong address, yet I have had plenty of packages delivered here over the years with no problem whatsoever by other mail carriers such as UPS and Fedex. If I try to bring up a problem with the people there, they look at me and roll their eyes--might I add that I am very polite when talking to them! The managers do not care. I even had an experience when my package was not delivered and I could not find a pink slip. I went up to the post office asking for my package, however, they would not give it to me! They told me it wasn't there. I finally found the pink slip nailed to my apartment mailbox (it said that the building and apartment number were not on the package). Well I took the pink slip up to the post office and they then gave me the package. Okay, how did they have it when just the day before they told me they didn't have it. I know what you might be thinking. You are thinking that this package was attempted the day before but it was not! It was 4 days before. There is no way possible that it was not there. Also, when I looked at the address on the package, everything was exactly correct. I have also had other times when they told me that they sent my package--a package that supposedly had the wrong address--back to the shipper. Yet, surprisingly, it was delivered two days later. Every time I talk to this people they seem like they do not care about anything other than themselves. A very small location with limited parking space and one RUDE employee. I dropped a package off and called a couple minutes later to request a recall on the package due to a mistake. The gentleman on the phone was friendly and told me to come pick it up since nothing would go out before 1:00 PM. I arrived minutes later and the front desk man told me: "NO" - your package is gone, there is no thing we can do. I explained to him what I was told on the phone and the package should still be here. I asked him to let me speak to the person on the phone. Again, a big "NO" in my face and he rudely shooed me away. I called again, the gentleman on the phone was surprised to know I was not able to pick up my package. He asked for the package information and personally went searching and placing it on hold for me. This shows how one person does not do his job well would cause trouble for other colleagues and customers. read more

If I could give no stars, or negative stars, I would. A package of mine was being delivered to the wrong address. The post office in Des Moines figured this out themselves up-front, called me and verified my new address and stated they would forward it. However the forward appears to have sent it to Burien. I called the Burien post office and a man with an Asian accent answered the phone. He obviously did not want to help me and refused to look up my package by tracking number, instead arguing with me that if I live in Federal Way I'd want to call the Federal Way office. I finally insisted he look up the item by tracking code. He got the number from me and put me on hold. He came back and asked for the number a second time, I gave it to him and he got several numbers wrong. I gave it to him a third time. He looked it up and said that the tracking, which he sarcastically implied I could look up myself and that that what the tracking number is for, showed it is in Des Moines. I advised him I am looking at the online tracking as we speak and that it shows it in Burien. I finally got tired of his attitude and asked for his name. He hung up on me. I called back, he picked up the phone and placed it on hold without saying a word. I called on a second line when the first was still on hold, he picked it up, immediately hung it up, then picked up my call on hold and hung it up. At that point I called Des Moines and received exactly the information I was looking for with no hassle what-so-ever.
