I read through a lot of the poor reviews and they seem to be mostly about items arriving damaged or arriving right at closing time and expecting to be helped or other things that could possibly not be related specifically to this location. I've never had an issue here to complain about. Yes, sometimes there is a really long line. It's the post office, folks, it's the same at all of them. That's not specific to this office. But, sometimes there is no line at all and you'll feel like you've finally cashed in on that good karma! I imagine the folks are nicer in the morning as it doesn't seem like a fun job and people are jerks about their mail and I wouldn't want to deal with that all day either. Just be patient and kind. This location also can help do your passport, which is helpful! I think I went online and made an appointment and they helped with all the paperwork to get our baby's passport application sent. read more

So, I finally got through on the toll free number with some lucky guesses what the infleixible menu wanted me to answer. I had called the two numbers steadily for an hour and a half before ever talking to a live person about the problem, hence this review still not favorable, but I upgraded by one star. I got a person at the toll-free number who listened, then I got a call back from a supervisor at the station who really listened and was constructive and friendly. Then as I finished walking home, the carrier was there and had indeed been told what had happened. It turned out it was not the regular carrier yesterday, and I guess he didn't have (or apparently missed) the building codes list he was given. That said, the undelivered big package still should not have been marked "delivered" in the tracking. I showed the carrier how there was a key in my mailbox for a larger box that was empty. We'll see what happens next, but I was also given direct contact info for the supervisor, and I did mention a number of times that not picking up any of multiple, continuous calls over an hour and a half is not acceptable. -------------------------------- We used to have a fantastic postman, but sadly he retired. Now the mailperson(s) make lots of mistakes. It started with them not being able to keep track of which mailboxes to put mail in, even though it is posted inside the box doors. Without consulting the owners, all the boxes were renumbered into an in order sequence. Sadly my neighbor who has had to stand on a stool for years to get her mail because she is petite and they gave her a high box was given another high box. We often find packages for other buildings in the complex in our building. I used to take them around and deliver them properly (security buildings, but I have done pet-sitting in the complex), but it really is not my job. Yesterday they put the wrong key for the larger boxes into my individual mailbox, so the box is empty. Since company sends tracking, I can see all four packages were reported delivered. The two smaller ones were put in my own box, and some minutes later, the two larger packages were "delivered." I have been on phone for 50 minutes so far trying to get through to ask them to report this to the mailperson and have them swap the correct key for the one they put in my box. The local branch simply does not ever pick up the phone. I tried the 800 number, and the automated mail tree never connects me to a live person either. It simply repeats "I did not get that" when I explain the nature of the problem, and "this doesn't seem to be a valid address," when I give the address I have been living at for 20 years. It seems like USPS has set up their system to simply try to dodge accountability. Without a car it is a hassle to go into the branch, and other reviews indicate people at the station do not take the problems any more seriously. Maybe it is time for USPS to cede package delivery to the companies that do it better and stick with letter delivery. They do provide a vital service by delivering mail to every street and P.O. address. read more

A family member utilized the Hold for Pickup service without my knowledge. I went to the office today after being notified that the item had been delivered and because I had availability to pick it up. When I arrived, the gentleman working informed me that this office does not accept packages mailed to them. I explained that I understood, and that the package was created through Click-N-Ship, which is eligible for Hold for Pickup, and that I had not requested this service myself. Despite this, he repeatedly spoke over me and even made a gesture to quiet me while I was simply trying to clarify that I do not typically have items shipped to the office and that I was only there because I was told the package was ready for pickup. After the third time he interrupted me, I told him I did not have time to argue over something so minor. At that point, he tossed the package in my direction. The conversation was factual and could have been handled much more professionally. I understand the staff may deal with difficult situations daily, but this situation escalated unnecessarily because he was not actively listening. I am reaching out because I do not appreciate the way I was spoken to today, and I felt the interaction was disrespectful and inappropriate. read more

They marked my package as delivered in/at mailbox but it was not there. I called them and tried to have it redelivered. It never arrived. I went to the post office to check if it's there, and they could not locate it. The employee at the front desk was rude and made a "smart" remark after I said my package was missing. I asked for a refund for my item, but they said i had to message the person I bought it from and have them file an insurance claim. That just doesn't make any sense to me since usps is the one who lost the package in delivery not the seller. Get local posts office located in the Westwood Village. This post office has the self serve machine for packages which is excellent when the line is long . Plus USPS has live humans for handling at the counters serving all your postal needs from stupid questions , stamps and packages. Be nice to these people there doing a job you don't wanna. PO Box's are also for rent so Id enquirer about one should the need arrive. You may get stuck on waiting list but not very long from my experience. USPS has a medium sized parking lot for 12 cars which is open most of the day. Handicap parking space open for those with special needs. Carrier tried to crumple a package into our locking mailbox and damaged the package while leaving it hanging halfway out of the mailbox where it got soaked by rain. The Seattle Distribution Center willfully delays packages and mail. This time a package that was supposed to arrived at the latest on 2/12/2024 was sent from the Seattle Distribution Center to San Bernardino (instead of north to Skagit County) and they sent it back only to have the Seattle Distribution Center send it to Minneapolis and they sent it on to St. Paul. This is not a new issue. Seattle Distribution Center has been doing this for several years. Folks waiting for their medications are having the same issues. I have lived in my ZIP Code for well over 24 years. At that time the post office ran very efficiently and we got our mail every day. usually we don't get mailed delivered at least one day a week. But here it is, December 21 and our condo building has not gotten one piece of mail in the last two days! And just before Christmas. Cards.and letters have not been picked up. THIS IS ABSURD!!! Refused to deliver packages for over a month because there was construction on one side of the street. Apparently, if the mail carrier feels unsafe, they have discretion to chose not to deliver mail to a particular location. It's funny, though: garbage, Prime, SDOT, and everyone else in the neighborhood didn't feel the same way and continued to access the street day-in, day-out. Worse still, when I went to the post office every day to pick up my undelivered mail, I was met with absurdly and comically rude employees (seriously, it is not uncommon to be yelled at). I'm sorry I'm picking up the mail you refused to deliver? I mean, what else am I supposed to do, not get mail? (And I still don't get it, how do these people see their roles at the post office; do they think their jobs are something other than mail processing and delivery?) Anyway, one high note is that the manager now delivers mail to this street. I placed an online order from a website, the tracking said it was delivered but it never was. So I opened a case online, and got a call from someone that same day. The person was apologetic and seemed to want to resolve this quickly. They asked lots of questions and details, and assured me they would contact the post person directly, and they would report back on what might have happened. I felt confident that they were on top of things and would find my package promptly. After being told I would be updated the next day, they ended the call. Within minutes I got an email that my case was resolved and it asked for customer service feedback. I thought this was odd they would resolve my case so quickly, but I felt okay that they would find the lost package since the person on the phone seemed on top of things. The next 3 days, there was no communication. I called on the fourth day, no one answered. Over the next month I called every other day. Only 4 of those times, someone answered the phone. Each time they collected my case number and all of the details, and said someone would call me back the following day. I even emailed these details to someone on the phone for them to pass on to a supervisor. Now it's been months. There's no further update, and I can't get a hold of literally anyone who can help. I am now out a $55 order (not to mention the $7.95 I paid for shipping lol). This is especially frustrating, because it's not like I was the one shipping a package. This is literally an order from a website. I have no idea how it's packaged or what color it is, or if it's in a box or a bag. These details were all required when I was filling out the online case number. Our postman is really nice & reliable, so this is a deeper problem within the Westwood post office. They are severely understaffed and the people who do work there seem to be so busy that they don't have time to help anyone or follow up. At this point it isn't even worth the time I've already invested in resolving this. I should've known the first time they didn't call me back that it was pointless to pursue. Ok, I rarely give a single star for anything. But your driver says he can't deliver my package because he can't get inside my building. Huh! I'm not in a building and get to my stoop from the sidewalk. This is happened before. When I call to try and correct the issue I get the nationwide number. I have a 37-52 minute wait and the computer promises my issue to be handled within 2-3 business days. Well, you guys will only attempt one more delivery, tomorrow. So what am I expected to do? This post office doesn't always process packages the same day. For example, if you put a package in the lobby drop box or the drive up box on a Tuesday at 1pm, it won't get an acceptance scan until 24 hours later. There are several pick up times listed on the boxes but those should be removed or clarified if that just applies to letters. So heads up, if you need a package scanned the day you mail it, you need to stand in line, COVID era or not, and have a clerk scan it. It's convenient to print out postage at home or at the post office self service kiosk but if you are going to have to stand in line to get the same day processing, then what's the point. A lot of people sell on line and are held to certain timelines, usually same day or 1 day handling time. If someone pays me on a Monday after the PO closes and I mail it on Tuesday that is considered 1 day handling. But the PO scans it 24 hours later on Wednesday so it's now late. When it's late, customers can leave negative feedback on the sellers profile that other buyers can see. Also a defect is added by eBay to the sellers account even though the seller did everything right. Sellers can appeal a defect but it's denied in this scenario. Too many negative reviews and defects hurts the seller's status which can scare away buyers and result in the sellers product getting less preferential placement on eBay. When you sell one a month it's not a big deal but when you sell 20-30 a month, the frustration adds up quickly. Sometimes the package never gets scanned and never gets delivered or gets delivered 40 days later and it's staying inside the US border. The buyer is understandably upset but the package is no longer under my control so what can I do? I've explained all of the above, over several years, to employees at the PO and by calling the 1 800 number. Nobody cares thus the negative review here. read more

Came in yesterday to pick up a certified letter. It was my first time here. They had a small line, but all of the counters were open. I noticed they were friendly and helpful to patrons. One worker was really good at explaining to someone how to forward mail that didn't understand the process. They offered to let those who were there to just pick up something go to a separate line which was really helpful to me and others, greatly speeding up the line. I noticed they sell greeting cards here. It wouldn't cross my mind to buy a card at the post office. That's a convenience I'll remember for next time. Only about a dozen parking spaces here but it's by the mall so you could just walk over from there if their lot was full. read more

I paid $7.75 for a priority mail envelope to be sent from Chicago to NY on 10/05/2020 for medical documents related to an appointment today. It's 10/09/2020 and has yet to arrive. It didn't even leave IL until late 10/07/2020. My son sent a card to his grandparents in NY this past Wednesday and they already received it?? I attempted to apply for a refund, but the website related priority mail was not eligible for refunds. The federal government needs to relinquish control of the USPS to AMAZON. The workers will act and treat you like you're the biggest inconvenience and treat you like so. I was in line watching them treat people this way over and over. The first time the younger girl Said "oh if it happens again I will write them up" (my mail was being sent return to sender even though it was my name in the mailbox) 2-3 weeks later I came back and she was behind the counter, with her mouth full of something, and when they asked her to speak to me she was suddenly off the clock and someone else had to come out. This location lies, they do not have the ability to take passport photos, they will say its "broken" but look at other reviews and it clearly shows this has been the case forever. They tell you to go to the RiteAide, who uses a standard digital camera. The staff at USPS is not helpful, doesnt care. No one would be sad to see this place pull up stakes and leave. If you want to get treated like a wolf in a chicken convention, then by all means pay this place a visit. Shame shame USPS. I called you and asked if you had the small PO BOXES available and costs. I asked if I could come and get the small PO BOX and was told yes. I come in and you tell me you've been out for a while and now only have $110/month boxes when I was told you had the $22/month boxes available just a day earlier. Bait and switch... nah more like not organized. Even though you don't have a box you still tell me to take and fill out a long questionnaire which makes no sense. No smile, no we're sorry, just hurry up since I got other customers waiting. Overall, I drove 2 minutes away and got a mailbox in 5 minutes at Mailbox West down the street for a few $$ more but they accept UPS and FEDEX as well as provide excellent customer services and other services the USPS do not offer. Just another reason USPS you're loosing money at an alarming rate and will be obsolete within 10 years. It's always crowded because the hours are too narrow for most of us to make it during our lunch or right after work. My experience for this post office is that they usually have 2-3 people manning the stations which means a line out the front door will take 15-20 mins to clear... The service here is excellent. Every employee gives 110 % every day and is always friendly and positive. I have used this post office since I moved here one year ago and every visit has been a good experience. I appreciate the efforts all the employees put forth considering the lack of support and funding from the people in charge of the USPS. As a worrier, I was concerned that the mail-forwarding form I submitted (for a temporary period of time during which our family is traveling) may not have been properly input. The gentleman I spoke with on 8/13/2019 at about 2:10pm was VERY helpful and friendly. He confirmed all my forwarding information (to, from, and duration) over the phone. The parking lot is usually ALWAYS full, so had to park across the "street", and they fortunately had two people working that day, so the line moved pretty quickly. these people are criminals!! my mail and packages have been stolen many times and they know who they are!! i have submitted numerous complaints to inspector general's office and usps and nothing is ever done. they recently stole a letter and card to my dying father after saying they would "tape it up" and i got it a couple of days later saying that the letter is missing and there were not contents in there. they probably thought they were getting a gift card since they stole one from me before...and have stolen numerous packages. they have laughted at me and made fun of me for my race among other things. they did nothing when a trump supporter was harassing me in the parking lot and lobby. welcome to america, though. when i confronted them to ask them who among them stole the card to my father, they threatened to call the police on me. then they wrote a bogus statement to the post office saying all of this had to do with no intercom on my apartment. that is wrong. it has nothing to do with that. stupid idiots. karma sucks and one day i hope they are get their just due (they know who they are) and the place is shut down. read more

I never usually have to go in to mail a package here, I'm usually the person that does a drive by and putting their mail down mail box. For bigger stuff I usually go through Fed-Ex but for some reason I could only mail this USPS, so I put together another package aswell since I had to go mail stuff I might aswell take them both there. I went in the morning because I know how the line gets in this place aswell as parking when it starts to get busy. Luckily for me there was plenty of parking and no wait, I went right up to the man at the counter. I told him I needed to mail both packages out one is paid shipping. He then says "we can't ship this like that" I'm like what? I notice the person that filled out the address put a long statement about the product that is in the box on the front of the box. I was like oh crap why did this person do this now I have to figure out what to do. The worker was nice he said hold on we have a sticker you can fill out the address on and he helped me rip off the old paper and tape it nicely back up. I thought the pricing wasn't to bad for faster shipping too. When I was about done it started to get busy, a customer came in with an open box and just needed it taped before shipping it... They said they couldn't help with that, he got pretty upset and I felt like I got there just in the right time otherwise I might of been dealt the same cards. Terrible!!! I wish I lived somewhere else, where I could have a different post office. I waited home all day to receive a signature required package that was supposedly "out for delivery". The mailman came by and dropped off a few letters in our box, then drove off before I could run out to inquire about my package. I drove to the post office to ask them about my package, and all they could tell me is that it is "out for delivery" so I went home and waited until 7:00 pm in vain! This is the second time a package has disappeared. The first one never did get found, so I assume it was stolen by somebody in the post office. The people who work there were not even helpful about trying to find it. This place needs a new manager.
