Mercer Island said their machine was broken and would not be repaired. Redmond didn't have a staff person who could operate the machine (from the reviews I read it's been that way for months). Issaquah has one staff member available for fingerprints from 2pm to 6pm. It took me 40 minutes in line to find out that the machine was down for the day. This post office also has a temperamental machine, but one employee was willing to give it a try. The machine here decided not to cooperate and take my fingerprints, but I was overjoyed just to have a chance by the time I made it here. Thank you for letting me try!

Just as evidenced by the overall score of this location (and most Usps locations) it's not usually a pleasant experience. In fact, you may dread going there. You gotta go there, not because you want to but for some reason you have to. Well both my visits the attendants each time were very nice and patient with me. Which goes a long way, particularly when they aren't being incentivized. This post office is located nicely too, the area usually isn't too busy, there is a parking lot with a fair amount of parking on and off street and the actual building is on the bigger side, as I've seen some small post offices. So while I don't go often, if the folks at this Usps can make my day slightly easier, I'll certainly take it.

I thought that the next best thing would be to have the postcards stamped in Seattle, Washington. I searched my Yelp app for the closest post office and this one in Georgetown popped up. There were many free parking spaces right next to the building. Inside, there was a long line of customers! I guess it's because there are only ten more days until Christmas?!?!?
