Overall most of the staff seem like they don't care and prices mostly mediocre service. I've seen the reps watching someone incorrect labels and watch them fill it and then tell them sorry it's the wrong one. They seem not care at all and have no pride being there. The service is awful. there is a guy who works there and is always angry and mean to customers. I recently witnessed him talk down to an elderly man , who was disabled, and the elderly man, was just trying to find his credit card. The other clerk who waited on me, had no clue what she was doing. I'm reporting them accordingly. Are there no other consumer friendly people they can hire? They appear to hire people who are incompetent, nasty, rude, and the list goes on and on. Upper management probably doesn't even monitor them. read more

Avoid this post office at all costs! The workers are incredibly rude and unhelpful -- They scream racist terminology at individuals who don't speak English as their first language. They speak down to your regardless of who you are. None of them have pleasant attitudes or want to work there. On top of that they are always running behind and are careless with packages. I came in to ship internationally, wasn't sure which label to use. The woman I asked the question threw the one I needed and gracefully commented that people loose jobs here and there (covid) and I am about to pay 200$ worth of shipping cost. I didn't know what to say, truly. Came back and just cried over sending a package to my mom. Maybe they don't have enough people to work there, feel like the person who takes care of me, looks very angry, I went there to send an international mail, he charged me $0.63, after I walked out I searched online for the cost for international mail, it said $1.45, so I go back and ask him, and he charged me another stamp for $1.45. Quite literally the WORST post office I have ever stepped foot into. I waited in line for nearly an hour, which I understand due to low staff. But the result issues arrive when I reached the front and was confronted with the female version of the grinch. She YELLED at other customers who were asking simple questions and refused to do simple tasks. (One of the managers came out and completed something she refused to do in less than 30 seconds.) I didn't know that I could have this bad of an experience at a post office but I will never return here. read more

There are times when it's really busy and there's only 2 people working. Sometimes, it seem like they take their sweet time with customers who only need little things. Do not go to through the line of a woman named Monique. She messed up my money orders and didn't offer a receipt, don't trust her. She refused to let me pay for my money orders and envelope at the same time, and when I asked why she snapped at me. Very aggressive and rude. If I were the owner she would fired already. read more

Rachel Rachel Rachel. I called at 7:41 in the morning whenever they opened at 7:30. She picks up the phone and says "you've been calling since 7:30, I have been with a customer. What do you need?" Not even a "this is the post office". I proceed with the call and she doesn't even want to hear me out. She interrupts me and just gives me another phone number and hangs up. This is the most under-staffed, over-crowded post office I have ever seen. The line is always long, and sometimes it actually extends out the door. The people who work here are pleasant enough but as sloooooow as molasses, and there are never enough of them. Never come here at the beginning of the day, at the end of the day, on the weekend, on the lunch hour...pretty much any time of day this place is bound to be insanely overcrowded. Also, some of the customers here are a little creepy. The other day an 80-something year old man told me I reminded him of his girlfriend (hopefully he meant like...his childhood girlfriend or something) and then actually pulled on my ponytail. Eeeek. I've never had issues with this location unlike most of the other reviews. And I tend to frequent a lot of USPS locations since I do quite a lot of shipping. I personally think the staff here are quite pleasant considering they are locked behind a counter having to deal with the mass public every day and probably dealing with pain in the ass people that either don't know how to follow directions or are just rude. And it's just human nature to become surly after interacting with a rude customer/having a bad day. So next time you visit your local post office, don't forget to be pleasant, smile, and thank them for being there. Remember, they're people too! Also this is one of the few USPS locations that is open til 5:30 pm since it's the main branch which is nice for those of us that can't quite make it there during lunch and have to go after work. Any lines they do have, end up moving pretty quickly. I think the most I've ever had to wait was 15-20 min. on their busiest afternoons. read more

This Post Office irks me. They have an automated mailing center but you cannot pay for the boxes or any mailing supplies that you may need at the machine--not even when there is an attendant whose sole responsibility is going around and trying to encourage the line of people to use the machine instead. Of course, I do want to use the machine, but I also have to pay for my box! Also, why aren't there more staff working during 12-2 p.m.? Everyone and their mother makes trips to the post office during their lunch break; I think they should've figured this out by now. I know P.O. workers gotta eat too, but I would think they could take shifts before and after the rush...One star for having at least one employee that is not completely surly, and another for the automated mailing center that is only sometimes helpful. I would not frequent this PO except for the fact that it's closest to my office. read more

It feels weird to be writing a review on a Post Office but I'm so impressed by what just happened, I have to share. It's a few days before Christmas and a gift I had ordered required signature on delivery and I hadn't been home when they tried to deliver it. I couldn't request re-delivery online for some reason, so assumed I had to pick it up, but there are a few nearby offices to me and I didn't know which one to go to. I called USPS to find out what location to go to. After 90 mins on hold (2 days before Xmas, so I knew it'd be awhile!) The woman gave me an address to where my package was and I went there, only to find that this location was not a customer facing office, but a mail processing location. I met a USPS employee there (Paul, I think was his name) and he checked for my package but couldn't find it. He took my phone number and info and said he'd call me back. I wasn't holding my breath but was hoping for a Christmas miracle. Well, 2 hours later he called me and said he found my package at the Main St post office and he'd hand deliver to me it in a bit. I am just so impressed that someone cared so much to do this. He was so pleasant and seemed to think nothing of it when I thanked him profusely. So nice!!! I also have been to this location in this past and though the lines can be long, the employees are always pleasant and helpful which can't always be said for post offices. read more

Took me a while to find the main door. If it weren't have a USPS car outside, it would take even liger. Larger office, lots of supplies. They sales boxes and tapes too. There was a line. It moved fast though. The pricing was a little off. I reduced half of the weight but it didn't help any. Might go with fedex for international shipping next time. read more

So, even with my address being in Wollaston, this Branch processed my package and supposedly tried delivering it somewhere in Waltham. Now 1 week later the package was returned to the sender back in MN. I feel if America wants to give these people raises, then maybe they should have to pass a literacy exam or at least learn about 5 digit zip codes. My first visit to this post office! Very happy to see lots of free parking space right in front of the post office. I walked in and was very impressed by the size of it. It always take forever to pick up packages here. This latest pick-up was the longest. Took over 20 minutes. I went to pick up a package, but the clerk couldn't find it anywhere. The slip was date over a week ago because I was out of town. I wouldn't think they returned to sender for no pick-up in a week. So after searching "everywhere", he told me the package was never sent to this post office, and gave me a number to call. I called and after on the phone for a few minutes, the person on the phone told him that the package was marked "red", so it's in the safe. He told her he didn't have the combo. OK, so you're telling me that you didn't check the safe because you didn't have the combo? Why not ask other employees there?! Another employee over heard this and said she knew the combo, opened for him, and BAM! package. It took over 30 minutes to pick up something that should have taken 3 minutes. This happened twice where they claimed the package was "still on carrier's truck" or "never received". Both cases the packages were there, locked up in various places. If you go here to pcik up packages, and they claim it's not there, ask them to check the safes... read more

I was totally impressed with the friendliness, professionalism, and overall excellence of the Main Street branch of the Waltham Post Office. Its also an example of how leadership today is often about a committed team solving complex problems. I think most Postal Workers do a darn good job, and though rarely get much credit The defacto leader of the team whose name is Harry looked like a Professor of Classical Greek History steeped in culture. He certainly was a great manager as I could see by the culture of pride throughout the branch. One sign of a healthy culture BTW is that it rubs off on customers. The post office is a happy place with customers chatting and gossiping with staff and each other. I noticed how Kathy in the middle section who took care of us gave wonderful service to each customer as if they were the only person in the world, while being moving with speed and agility to make sure customers standing in line didn't grow impatient. Kathy helped us process multiple pink pick up forms for Amazon packages we handed her in short order making sure we got everything, while handing us scissors and tape for a package we were mailing. They never failed to check an address to see if it was legible, the zip code correct, or the package free of hazardous materials. As my wife and I had to step out of line for a moment to address a mailing label and pack box with a hairdryer someone had left in our house Kathy was kind enough to tell us we could jump back in at the counter without having to stand in line when we were ready As it turned out, Kathy was busy so the manager took us. The hand off was not only smooth and seamless and the way he helped us the customs forms for baby formula about to be sent to my wife's family in China was impressive. The young Tall Man with the booming voice behind the counter handling passports apps not only treated people who had immigrated from other countries whose English wasnt perfect with total respect, but helped then solve a slew of money order and application problems. Bottom line: it was a win win experience. They delivered, and we spent about $200. Never had a problem with this USPS location. Its big,spacious and the staff is quick and professional. If there is a line, there are at least 2 or 3 counters open. My wife went there to apply for a new passport and they handled it very efficiently, explaining all the steps involved very lucidly.Very positive experience! Not having been to this particular post office before, I went yesterday for the first time. I arrived at 5:21, thinking they'd still be open for another 9 minutes. NOPE! They had already locked both the inside door and the outside door. It was ridiculous! Normally, places are open until closing time - not 10 minutes before! :( read more

The lines are always very long. The people there are very slow and grumpy. It always put me in a depressing mood. I went to drop a package with prepaid postage. The guy working there literally said he couldn't give me a receipt because the way I did it (online without hassle) put him out of his job. I've dropped off packages in UPS, Fedex. There seem to be a few workers there that are very helpful and knowledgable. Today, I experienced the some of the worst customer service I have ever seen from Cynthia. She had a horrible attitude, refused to help and essentially challenged me to file a complaint about her. There seem to be other reviews outlining some bad customer service and perhaps those individuals got stuck with Cynthia as well. I like this place. Yeah I can understand that it's under-staffed and the lines can get pretty long sometimes, but I think that the staff has been quite helpful. There have been times where I have prepared a package and it wasn't done properly, but they fixed it without making a huge deal. They've always helped me find the cheapest and fastest way to get my things shipped, so I applaud them for that. Yes, sometimes they do look pretty depressed, but I don't blame them. I had a very bad experience with this Post Office. I came here for claiming a refund. I mailed a overnight express mail, but it took three days deliver to the destination. I know how to track the mail. But the old lady said the delivery information what they found from their system was different as what i saw from my computer. I showed to her, but she don't want to look at it and kept saying" i don't know. you need to call 800number or go to the post office which you send the mail. I can't give you the refund". she did't let me talk and didn't listen to me. Actually, i had already called the 800 number before i came and they said you could go to any USPS to claim the refund. She was so rude and didn't want to solve the problem. This is my first time go to this Post Office and also the last time. Very very bad staff. Avoid this place and Avoid mailing overnight mail with price $19.99 from USPS. If you are in a hurry don't put the risk on it. It is not guaranteed like what they say. read more
