Can't be bothered to answer their phones and the mailmen treat delivering the mail like the wild west.

Not everyone has a good day, so maybe I happened to catch this Fed Ex store clerk on an off day…read more I went out of my way to come to this fed ex as the website said they provide for Sunday delivery. The package recipient's birthday was on a Sunday and I wanted it to arrive on her special day. The store clerk informs me that Fed Ex does not do Sunday delivery. Ok, fine. Maybe I misread the website (nope, I confirmed that says they do Sunday deliveries). So maybe she didn't know that Sunday delivery was a thing. Maybe that's the fault of her supervisor, but she also gave out her instructions in a dismissive, patronizing manner, such as saying, "sign here, sign here, sign here," in a rapid fire fashion when I didn't immediately react to her request, and when I told her an address was entered wrong, she said in an annoyed voice, "you didn't tell me that on the last package." Perhaps most frustrating of all, she wore her face mask below her nose for the entire transaction. We all know that wearing a mask all day isn't the most comfortable, but please at least cover your mouth and nose when you have a customer. I know I'll be hesitant to return here in the future, but the two stars reflects that possibility that maybe this employee was just having a tough day. Either way, please just wear your mask properly.

My driver, Brian, drove down a road with 2 houses. One on the left, and one at the end of the road…read more He drove by the house on the left, which was the correct address, and attempted to deliver the package at the house at the end of the road. When he turned to leave, he drove past the correct house AGAIN and didn't think to try to deliver the package there. He ignored the signage indicating house number each time. Avoid at all cost.

we were so upset when we arrived last monday 7/13/26 and saw the condition of this place. the…read morebuilding looks nice from the outside and it is beside an apartment complex that appeared to be lively and in good shape--so we were shocked at how unsafe we felt inside the self storage, both in terms of leaving our belongings in the building for any amount of time, but also for our personal safety. we had rented the unit based on these reviews that said no one was even able to access the upper floors without management letting them up. instead we arrived (with our four-man moving crew and 30 ft truck full of our belongings) to find the "coded" gate totally open to the road, zero staff on site during business hours, and every single outer door unlocked. the elevator was fully broken, trash was piled in vacant units with their doors wide open, a transient was smoking (not weed) out of a clear glass pipe on the third level, with his liquor bottles and garbage spread out across the floor and music blasting like he felt completely at home. we decided that even though we had no other place to take our stuff and the movers needed to leave, under no circumstance could we stay one minute longer here. a bright spot in our awful day was how responsive the StoragePro corporate team (who are based on the west coast) were to us when we couldn't get anyone on the phone at albany-menands and then arrived with our whole moving crew to an empty office and all the rest of it. those kind folks did refund us our money after we filed a report about all this, but i still feel compelled to share this experience with anyone researching safe storage options, since the existing reviews on here do not accurately reflect the current state of this facility. my husband did later have a phone call with the person who was out that day with a family emergency, and while i understand that emergencies arise, that still does not change the reality of the physical state of the facility or its total lack of security and oversight. we consider it a blessing that everything worked out the way it did and we were able to see the true state of affairs, rather than foolishly leaving our things there.

I'll be relocating soon and just did a quick search of storage facilities. I had a chance to stop…read morein to The Albany Menands storage, the two women that were in the office were really helpful wonderful. I'll be making a reservation soon.

I ordered a four-drawer file cabinet from OfficeDepot. I received a call from New Penn telling me…read morethat it would be delivered tomorrow. I told them that I live in an apartment building with 200 apartments. They would have to bring the file cabinet to my apartment door. The very rude New Penn rep said that there would be a charge for that. I told her that OfficeDepot gave me free shipping. She said that does not include delivery to the door. They were just going to dump a 4 drawer file cabinet outside an apartment building! I told her that I am 68 years old and could not handle bringing the cabinet to my apartment door. I told her that there were signs in the vestibule stating that deliveries cannot be left there and they must be brought to apartment doors. She said the drivers would come after me for the extra charge. I told her not to deliver the book case and that I was calling OfficeDepot to cancel the order (which turned out to be another nightmare). When I told the rude New Penn rep that I would buy from Staples instead, she said "don't bother, we deliver for them too." And then she hung up. One of the most rude customer service encounters I have ever had. Needless to say, I won't order large items from OfficeDepot or Staples ever again. I will order from Amazon. When you contract with people who don't care about customer service, that is how you lose business.

DRIVER NEVER SHOWED UP...wasted a day waiting that quite frankly was a waste of money and time.... called to check at 4:30pm at which time they claim they never called me (how did I get their number?..) anyway I was told a truck would in fact be delivering my shipment the following Wednesday.... Here it is Wednesday ...called to check on delivery at about 2pm..lady claimed driver making a delivery in Johnstown and then he is heading directly to you...called back at 4:30pm...man said truck would be here between 5pm and 5:30pm.... well it's 5:32pm...no truck and now that's TWO DAYS WASTED.... who the F do these people think is paying for people to stand around waiting for promises never kept???? Screw this company use someone else.

Reviewing mostly for the historical aspects, not the Post Office service itself. (The PO does have…read morean oldschool homey feel about it, to be sure.) The building is a fine brick 1852 church on the National Register of Historic Landmarks, which went through several other uses before ending up as the US PO for Newtonville. Unfortunately the inside's been gutted and refitted to the Post Office's needs - in mid-20th century stasis - so you can't see much on the inside. It's a very narrow counter dominated by old-school brass combination PO boxes (cool enough) but quite cramped. So what there is to see of the architecture, you can see from outside. We went to see the Chester Arthur "Exhibit" (see photos) which is basically a collection of clippings about forty or fifty years old. It's an oddity, here based on the tenuous connection to Arthur's father, who by local legend lived nearby for a number of years. The locals swear it was Arthur's "childhood" home, but given he was 26 years old when his father first took up residence and practicing law in Kansas and New York City during those years, it's a bit of a stretch. Arthur's father, a minister, may have preached at the church briefly. This local legend was ballooned to include renaming a nearby street "Arthur Street" and was probably enhanced by the fact Arthur's buried in the nearby Albany Rural Cemetery, but the actual historical significance for one of our most obscure Presidents is somewhere between low and non-existent. That said: there's just something really touching about the fact this little display has sat here unchanged for half a century. If you go in to buy stamps, admire it, but I wouldn't plan your vacation trip around it.
