Professor Estoque had this really warm, motherly/older sister kind of energy that made you feel supported and comfortable, especially during stressful times. Professor Hintay had a calm and steady presence that made the class feel grounded. She explained things clearly and helped break down more complex topics in a way that felt manageable. Dr. Lim was kind but pushed us to really understand the material on a deeper level, which made a big difference in our learning. Professor Oh was newer to the program, but you could really see the effort he put into improving and growing as an instructor. Professor Son was fun and funny but she also challenged us in a good way. She held us to a high standard, but it ultimately helped us become more confident and prepared. She took on both roles as our instructor and fieldwork coordinator, and she handled both incredibly well. She was organized, supportive, and played a big role in helping us transition into our clinical experiences. All the professors were knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to help when things got tough. You can really feel that they want you to succeed, not just pass. One of the best parts of my experience was the friendships I made and the extra activities we got to be a part of. I was a good student, Cheating students from Romania received "Student of the Year" awards, and I was kicked out of the program for missing a single assignment (but of course, the library was never open after internship). I would not recommend this place. Just study on your own. Pass the written exam then try to find a school that would give you clinical experience.

I constantly felt like I had to chase answers instead of receiving support as a student. The most frustrating part was near graduation. I was told my graduation would be delayed because of an alleged unpaid balance--even though I had made all my payments, including my cap and gown, with no missed payments whatsoever. I almost missed my graduation entirely because no one contacted me to let me know there was supposedly an issue. The only reason it was caught was because I called them myself. For a school that claims to support its students, my experience was the complete opposite. This process caused unnecessary stress, frustration, and disappointment. Students deserve better communication, accountability, and support than what I received here.

Ecologics has a family-style vibe with a few other staff members. They have a relaxed environment with a pretty happy attitude. I don't think I could even imagine anyone getting upset in the office. The class sizes were about five people on average. This was nice since you get more attention versus larger size class. They have two instructors teaching these classes. They usually mix it up to switch up with teaching style and scheduling. I enjoyed the two courses I took with them, and so I returned to take the CAC prep exam. I worked with their instructors over three days and had a 1 on 1 session with them for several hours. One of them even stayed over extra hours just to make sure I understood the material. As a result, I passed my CAC exam on my first try. It's pretty easy to say that I couldn't do it without them. I highly recommend this school to others. The only tip I would add is at times to the instructor might get off topic, just remind them here and there and you should be good.

Before attending AFA, my only work experience was babysitting. After graduating in March, it took a little time, but by May I had job offers from SpaceX and Anduril Industries at just 19 years old. I'm beyond grateful for how much this school helped me during and even after the program. She asked if there was classes for survival. Luckily I found California Survival School. We were fortunate to have Dan as the instructor. He background is quite extensive and impressive. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Although I thought my seven year old would get bored with the lecture portion, Dan kept the group engaged throughout. The hand on activities were our favorite, like building a tend properly. Both my daughter and I enjoyed the class and learned essential skills that can be used in everyday situations. We took the core survival class, and found it to be very useful. Many of the essential components of surviving in the wild are counterintuitive, especially based off of pre-conceptions we have learned from movies and TV shows about wilderness survival. We are now much better prepared because of the knowledge we gained through this class. I won't give any spoilers cause that would ruin the experience- but on top of basic survival priorities, we learned how to build shelters, purify water, best react to dangerous animals, build fire, and even identify some plants. I also learned that I am kind of a pansy and really don't want to get lost in the wild. I would definitely recommend wearing long pants and long sleeves due to some of the tasks required during the training. Don't be like the girl that came (loudly pronouncing that she was) super hungover, wearing a super deep v neck and no bra (come on man- save it for Burning Man), because you are going to have to actually do stuff. This is a hands-on course, not a powerpoint presentation. Overall, would highly recommend this course for adventurers wanting to better learn how to be safe in the wild.
