I took the crash course for the salesperson exam over the weekend (Santa Monica location) and took the exam the following Monday and passed. I passed my exam the 1st time I took it! I highly recommend that you purchase the online and in-person training ($175 total). The online training allows you to review the content of the in-person course. You get a sense of what to expect, and you have access to the power points that will be used in class. It also gives you access to definitions of terms that will be on the exam. The best part of the online course is that you can take practice tests that are very similar to what you will see in the actual exam. I highly encourage you to take as many practice tests as you can. Now, the best part of the in-person training is Mr. Ian Medina, the instructor. He is knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. The content of the course is more than enough to prepare you to pass the exam. Good luck! read more

Both instructors had years of experience as realtors and provide me with real world examples that is not covered in my textbooks. It was wonderful to learn from to different perspectives of the Los Angeles real estate market. Kathryn Shafer has over 20 years of experience in residential real estate in the Beverly Hills area. If you're looking for fully immersive real estate courses with layers of depth that go well beyond the textbooks, look no further than the CA Realty training of Mahogany Rhodes at Keller Williams Brentwood. I recently finished up all three courses (Tuesday and Thursday from 1-3) under Mahogany's tutelage, and I can honestly say that not only am I sufficiently equipped to pass the State Exam, but I'm inspired and excited to launch my career in real estate in a way that I never could have anticipated before enrolling. Mahogany made it very clear that she wasn't just training us to obtain a license, but rather preparing us to become professional real estate agents with thriving careers. Motivating from the start! She is incredibly impassioned and knowledgeable about all things real estate, and she infused her unique energy into our lessons, which made trudging through sometimes stodgy material a far more valuable experience than it would have been otherwise. Along with covering the required info, she peppered our courses with numerous tales of "real life" experiences, and encouraged students to share their own adventures in real estate so that we might all learn from each other. Because the books just cover what's on the State Exam, moments like these were invaluable, as they gave students an inside glimpse of the industry and its practices, and taught us to be prepared for a multitude of unpredictable scenarios. Mahogany never failed to bring humor, insight, enthusiasm, and encouragement to class, which goes a looooong way when you're trying to wrap your head around daunting things like finance, history and the law. As for the course material, it is definitely sufficient. The books are thick - well over 400 pages each - but I was pleasantly surprised that some subjects overlapped, which provided a bit of study relief. I was a little jarred by some of the typos in the textbooks, but hopefully future revisions will work this out. CA Realty provided slides highlighting the most important information for in class learning, as well as an online glossary of real estate terms, which is definitely helpful. I found that there was more than enough time provided to complete the online finals after each course, and even though they're open book you still definitely have to know the material. I'm currently studying for the State Exam and CA Realty offers simulated exams online, which are pretty invaluable. CA Realty also walks you through the RE exam application process once you've finished all three required courses. Overall, I would absolutely recommend training with CA Realty, and I can't imagine having done it with anyone other than Mahogany. I had originally tried to get into classes in Studio City but they were all full. When I called CA Realty they recommended the Brentwood location specifically because of Mahogany's great reputation. I wasn't crazy about the drive at first, but I quickly began looking forward to it once I realized how great and empowering Mahogany is! Can't wait to pass the exam and launch my new career! read more

Amazing is the word I would use to describe the school and the teacher Robert Rico! It's one thing to teach the information and another thing to teach with passion. If you lack motivation than this is the guy for you! He has a way of getting you motivated and it's not one of those corny motivational speeches, when he speaks you can feel that he truly means everything he says. He gives us real life senarios and is great at illustrating different situations. I want to start off by saying I usually don't write Yelp reviews but, I owe it to Team Rico and the public. Like most people who become interested in selling real estate I started researching the best and most effective way to take the 3 prerequisite courses for the state exam. I read mix reviews about different online courses and then I found LA Realty Training. At the time there were only a few reviews but, they were all great and I decided to sign up for the free class and give it a chance. 3 months later I am 100% satisfied in my decision. LA Realty Training is a crash course of California Real Estate Practice, Principles and Finance. There isn't enough time to go over every detail of the book but, Rico pulls out all the critical information and teaches it with passion and motivation. Not only does Rico help prepare you for the State Exam but, he gives you motivation and tips on how to become a successful agent. That's something you won't learn from online courses or text books. I'm fortunate enough to live 15 minutes from the office but, I would easily sit on the 405 for two hours just to take his class. read more

I am on my second week of class and I am learning some quality material for use in my career. The online tools are very useful and in class we find insider information which the book doesn't teach. I would recommend coming here. Not only is it good teaching, they seem to be straight up and honest about real estate and the different choices you have of brokers. Just took my state exam last Thursday and passed on the first try! On average there is only a 50% pass rate according to the BRE website stats. It was harder than I expected- the questions much more expansive and on topics broader than I was prepared for. Regardless, I still passed and used only materials from CA Realty Training. read more

I was a student in Scott Butlers Class from February 2017 to May 2017, Scott helped in engaging role playing in class, his teaching technique is great and I took in a lot from the classes. I had many, many questions that I would ask in class and have them all answered by Scott. I always cracked a joke or two in the class in connection with the Chapters of the night, Scott never toned me down, rather than do that he had the entire class involved in making sense of the joke which turned out to be a lesson for all of us. Eventually, Scott had a vote in Class by the class members, as to who would be likely to succeed in his class, of which I won the vote, personally, I never expected to win but on winning I received a book, which I'm sure will help in my future endeavors. I suggest that everyone taking the classes do the tests after each chapter, and learn the definitions it helps, I promise. At the end of my particular Classes term in May, Scott had another vote by the Class Members , of which I succeeded in achieving the 2nd award. I thought my Class Mates and the New Class Mates were joking when they picked me again, I guess they liked my jokes and that I asked so many questions, which at the time, I thought were trivial questions, but as I look back on my time in the Class with Scott and my Class Mates, I am very happy I had trivial questions to ask, because some of those trivial questions, and the answers I got in class, helped me when I took the State Exam in June 2017......I am extremely Happy to say, I Passed the State Exam first time around.....Thank You Keller Williams, Thank You Scott Butler!!! read more

I was pretty sure that taking this course was going to be, in a word, boring. There are so many details, many monotonous, so I was prepared to be pumped up on coffee to try to keep awake during the classes. I couldn't have imagined how wrong I was. Mahonany Rhodes is stellar. I'm so grateful I signed up for her course. She is a wealth of knowledge and makes every class fun and engaging. I have come across a lot of people from different walks in life, but I have never seen anyone be able to relate to everyone like she does. She includes everyone and welcomes our questions and participation. I hope I can learn to develop the skills and knowledge that she has to work with people. Taking her course has inspired me and given me motivation to want to succeed in my future career as a realtor. I didn't bring coffee to class once! What I'm now going to say will come across a little nerdy but here goes; I would like each semester to have lasted one week longer, I know everyone else is probably racing to the finish line but I am one that pays attention to everything in detail. It's so much learning so very quickly, but again, I do believe with this said because of Mahogany I was far more interested and probably learned in this time frame more than I expected to. I think it would also be great for an opportunity for study groups to be arranged for people who graduate to meet up a couple times a week to review materials and discuss together as we are getting ready for the state exam. I just finished the three month real estate class with Keller Williams. It was a super way to learn about real estate and the best part of it was the instructor Robert Rico. Rico is an experienced real estate salesman and he infused the sometimes dry material with his personal experience, anecdotes and energy. He got the class pumped up about mortgages, disclosures, and taught us the most important aspect of real estate... people. The coursework was very well organized. The system of textbooks, quizzes, power point lectures we could review at home made all the information easy to digest, anyway you wanted to take it in. The amount of information is gargantuan and though the textbooks contain all the information, they need to be more professional. They contain lots of typos and other problems a well-paid proofreader could easily fix. But this is a superficial complaint, does not diminish the quality of information in the books and is only a small blemish on an otherwise professional course. I totally recommend this course to anyone who wants to become a realtor. And if you can get Rico as your instructor, you will have an advantage over the competition. read more

I started my course back in July at the Keller Williams Beverly Hills office and due to a number of circumstances, have had the pleasure of having a few different teachers. Started with Kelly, who was a riot and delivered the information so well. Had a teacher who, after one class, moved to a different company that I also enjoyed. Then enjoyed having Rico, one of the founders of the company and the course. But my main teacher, Kathryn Shafer, ended up being a fantastic teacher who I am glad to have met. Not only does she deliver the information in an educational and informational way without boring the class but she brings in guest speakers that are highly beneficial in learning the in's and out's of Real Estate.
