We had Community for a short 90 days and when we started we thought our Mother only had 3 weeks to Live. We were so Lucky to have the team of Jacob & Eunice. Jacob was our nurse and Eunice was the aide that assisted with bathing. They treated the whole family, not just the patient, with love & respect. Their hearts were in the perfect place! Im seated in the lobby and the receptionist is asking me questions while she's waiting on other clients, and I have never been TOLD when my next apt will be. I have always been ASKED 'what dates are good for you, or 'is this date good for you?' Not being included in that, just told 'your next apt is on ...' Just thought that was strange. Maybe, if allowed, I'll change my next apt to the Mansfield office, but absolutely no complaints with Dr. Mohan, he communicated my treatment plan very well, good 'bedside manner.'

My husband was in hospice care with Freedom Hospice for almost six months. He was an in-patient at…read moreone of the most costly care facilities in Fort Worth. The social worker there directed me to Freedom Hospice when he failed to meet the Medicare standards for physical therapy after a brief hospital stay. He was 82 years old, and a decorated war hero. We liked the Freedom Hospice RN who was my husband's nurse. She came over almost weekly to do what I judged was a thorough exam and reported her findings to me and to the unit nurse. There seemed to be a good interaction between the hospice company and the medication management at the facility. The Monday-Friday aides who came to bathe and change him seemed to be caring and hard working. There appeared to be a little disconnect between the aides at the facility with the hospice aides, as the facility aides seemed to expect the hospice aides to do the daily grooming every day, not too happy when they were asked to change him ir provide day to day care.. The biggest disappointment was when my husband was dying. I did expect some support from Freedom Hospice in terms of what I had heard about what "angels" the hospice volunteers were. When I asked where were these "angels" i was told that since my husband was in a hospital setting they did not provide for aides at his active dying. Thus, I provided what compassionate, end of life care I had read about in books. His hospice nurse arrived after my husband passed away. I have not had a single phone call from Freedom Hospice since he died, over a month ago. I observed a sales rep for Freedom bringing 'treats' for the aides at the facility on on more than one occasion, and buying lunch for the staff. Could this account for the relationship between Freedom Hospice and this facility? You be the judge.
