We've been working with Harry for 18 weeks now on Foundation & Obedience and can't even believe all we've accomplished in such a short time. Watching Harry work with a dog is like watching McLain Ward navigate a jump course...his corrections seem effortless and are clear and he shows you the true potential your dog has. Harry has been the most amazing trainer, and so helpful to me and my Rottweiler "Bear." My dog came from a highly abusive past, and has long term issues from it. I had hired countless trainers prior to Harry. While they were all very nice, they were no match for Bear, some even admitting he was out of their league, and another saying he was so dangerous I should put him down. Putting Bear to sleep would NEVER be an option, but I had basically given up hope that my dog was too far gone, and just accepted life working around his aggression. Things were so bad when I was referred to Harry that I could not even take Bear out of my house without him lunging and tying to attack strangers. While I will always have to be extremely careful with my dog, Harry is the ONLY trainer who was able to manage his serious aggression. He taught me techniques where I can confidently walk him around my neighborhood (something I never could have done) We also worked a lot with building Bear's confidence and doing training that put him out of his comfort zone. Bear never showed any aggression toward me, but bc of these trust-building exercises, I think he doesn't feel like he has to protect me as much. Harry was the happy medium that Bear needed. He knew exactly how to be dominant and not take Bears crap, without ever being aggressive or mean to him. Never even raised his voice. It's really impressive how much he could control him just with body language. Unfortunately, Harry did have to duke it out with Bear once lol but he remained super calm and was not harmed. Most other people would have panicked. I don't normally write reviews but was really alarmed and skeptical of the one negative "review." Bear has boarded at USA K9 and always looks so happy there when I pick him up. And trust me, he is not a dog to hide his feelings. If he were upset with any treatment, I would know it. BEWARE!!!!!!!! NO BUSINESS ETHICS!! Harry is a horrible trainer. I rather let my little niece watch my dog when I go away next time. I left my dog to him for a week while I went away for the 4th this year. During that week none of my family members could visit my dog and when I got him back he said he did great he was outside during the firework shows. Funny my dog is still scared. Also the truth came out. He was crate trained for that entire week. NICE. Update since he thinks it's the wrong place I'm reviewing. Has yelp contact me, lol. It is correct. Harry is an excellent trainer. He really understands the minds of dogs and how to most effectively communicate with and train them. Our Toy Aussie had so much energy, she was a handful. We tried everything to wear her out physically. We learned from Harry that she basically has unlimited physical energy, and we need to wear her out mentally. What a world of difference! With the right mental stimulation, we are able to occupy her mind, while gaining peace in the household. His breadth of knowledge is unrivaled, as he explains the pitfalls of "conventional" training (treats, squeaky toys, etc) and how to avoid them. I'm glad we got referred to him, especially after hearing some of the horror stories about some of the other "trainers" out there. Took our puppy to Harry for self control issues. Within a couple of weeks we had a different dog. He worked magic with her. She is so much Better behaved since we started working with Harry. He doesn't train using treats or punishment- instead he trains using the dogs natural tendency to seek out a pack leader. We are going to start the obedience classes next. Harry Lozada of USA K9 saved my dogs life. My dog Ella had extreme anxiety and fear based aggression. We worked with two other trainers before going to Harry. The second trainer we worked with over a course of seven sessions right before Harry, who claimed to be a dog behavior expert and behaviorist, 1st convinced us that Ella needed to be on Prozac and then told us that Ella had a biological abnormality and should be euthanized. Upon our veterinarian's recommendation we contacted Harry. Within minutes of meeting Ella, Harry was able to have Ella under his control. He told us that Ella absolutely should not be euthanized and assured us that he was going to help. After a few sessions Ella showed tremendous improvement. She went from a dog that literally had to be picked up and carried outside to a dog that walks down the stairs and out the front door willingly on a leash. Ella is a much more confident and happy dog thanks to Harry. We also board Ella with Harry when we travel and he does an amazing job taking care of her. He does a terrific job with keeping in communication and giving us updates on Ella whenever she is staying with him. It is such a relief to be able to leave her with him and not have to worry about her. Harry is down to earth and his training makes sense. He explains things very clearly and makes sure both dog and human are trained properly. After meeting Harry and seeing him in action you will understand that he is very passionate about what he does and deeply cares for all dogs, especially the ones he trains. I highly recommend Harry Lozada of USA K9 to anyone looking for a dog trainer, especially if your dog has severe behavioral issues. An all star trainer with patience and understanding that promotes confidence and competence! I started using Harry at K9 almost 3 years ago, My shepherd was 10 weeks old. If you want to have an obedient confident and agile dog, then you are in the right place. I found out very quickly that I was the one that needed training, not the dog, and I was encouraged to practice as homework. The training my dog and the I experienced and received here was invaluable. My shepherd remains the best trained dog in my household and in my entire social and family circles. In response to Peter G review, crate (training) is the best way to take care for your dog, most especially in a strange environment. It provides a place of safety and security that when scared or tired, wants to rest or eat a bone. A happy dog seeks its kennel. I currently have 5 dogs and have owned and raised many more over my lifetime. People who think crates are cruel , simply do not accept that a dog is an animal, and not a human. if you wanted a baby sitter for your animal then maybe you should have hired an au pair! read more

Harry did a great job training my GSD--and me! (Dogs are relatively easy; owners who are set in their ways can be tough.) He's known for working with problem dogs, but also lays down a solid foundation with pups.
