Update: In order to address the inquiry as to why I didn't board my dog at the "other kennel" (so…read morereaders don't think my review is due to an inability to recognize my dog is difficult [Spoiler Alert: He's not]), it is because it is over 200 miles from where I was staying - He is staying there later this month without any issue. Despite barking for a bit when he's left in a strange place with other barking dogs (but eventually stopping, as evidenced by his silence when we arrived), he is by no stretch of the imagination a problem-dog. While I'm happy to hear other customer(s) have ostensibly been treated better (that being said, the response to my review sounds a little too personal to be impartial), that doesn't change the strange, extremely unprofessional one-star experience we had that went beyond the barking -- I'd never heard of a dog professional asking within five minutes of meeting a dog whether they'd be able to get him back into a kennel by tossing food in, instead of simply handling him.
