Great spot that treats your dog like there own. We have used them a few times for doggy day care and recently used them to board our 8 month old golden doddle for a few nights. The location is awesome and our dog loves going there. They split the dogs up by size and how active they are so your dog plays with dogs his/her speed. For overnight boarding each pup gets there own room and you can bring their bed and toys. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly. Can tell they really like working with the dogs. HoundsTown Farmingdale has been nothing short of amazing for our family. When we got our dog Tika in March 2019, we had terrible issues with separation anxiety (husky/shepherd mix). We tried trainers, and all of their tips and tricks. Nothing worked. We hired a dog walker to stop by during the day to help us get our dog's energy out, but we couldn't keep her in a cage all day (she would destroy our house if left to freely roam the house). We felt awful. Then we found HoundsTown. This place is magical. Tika looks forward to going every time she hops in the car. She comes home completely happy and exhausted (that HoundsTown Hangover is real!). Our dog gets an exit bath each time she goes to HoundsTown, and she always comes home smelling good and looking clean. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and you can just see how much they love dogs. It means a lot when the staff knows the owners and names of their respective dogs upon pick up and drop off. There is such a sense of community at this place. We have also used their boarding service. We saw pictures of our pup throughout her stay, and we even called to check in on her. They were always informative and told us how she was doing. I was always weary about boarding services for my previous dogs, but HoundsTown changed my feeling about it. I would only trust them. Went to pick my dog up at 9:30 this morning. Was told he wasn't ready because he didn't have his bath yet. I was told to "pick him up any time after 12". I repeated this instruction-"ok-so any time after 12?" Yes, any time. Well, hounds town has "quiet time" from 12-2. I know this because the last time we left our dog here, we tried to pick him up at 1 and they refused to bring him out. I can respect their policy, no problem. So, today I waited until after 2 to get him. So, of course, I was charged a $22 late fee. Shady as hell. Will never use this place again. Suggest you don't either. read more

I can't say enough great things about this company and the wonderful staff!! I started boarding my dogs here 5 years ago and I'm still thrilled. Every single person I have spoken with over the years has been courteous, helpful, patient and professional. The staff is so kind and caring, and HTUSA is THE ONLY place I would ever feel comfortable leaving my pup whenever we take a few days away. From top to bottom the space is spotless, and the entire crew is knowledgable about all breeds of dog and makes sure your pup is matched in the right group of dogs where they get to play all day. Without ANY second thoughts, don't send your little best friend to a place they'd stay put in a room or crate all day when they can socialize from morning til night and receive all the pats, rubs and attention they deserve. I think the people here are amazing they genuinely care about the animals I have Koda in daycare and boarded him for a week unfortunately he got kennel cough and then ontop of that after a stool test he had a parasite . so I had to pay this whole bill ontop of what I paid for boarding him... I wasn't offered a refund or any money towards the bill nor did I ask because my main concern was my dogs health at the time I'll bring definitely bring him back and give another chance I just don't understand how he gets a parasite dogs get from eating or sniffing poop he doesn't even eat his own poop never has .the staff was very concerned and I do appreciate that such kind people UPDATE- both my dogs now got kennel cough every month I bring them Kodas turned into bronchitis rushed him to the vet when he started choking and wasn't responding to me. They told me it could be there immune system not when it's every month. The vet told me it wasn't it. There immune system is fine.People are friendly and caring . I hate complaining but when I am spending more time at the vet with my dogs and racking up in the bills and meds there's an issue even south Nassau vet said she wasn't surprised when I had to bring my girl willow. And they get there kennel cough shots every 6 month instead of a year I'm ontop of it. Unfortunately they will not be returning and will be going to . pawllywood. :/ really sad about it. My husband and I were very pleased with Hounds Town and their staff! We appreciated that they have an 'interview' process to make sure your dog will enjoy their time there! We dropped our dog off a few days prior to his stay for doggie day care. He LOVED it and didn't want to leave when we picked him up. He then stayed for an overnight yesterday and we couldn't be more pleased! We love that they take pics of the dogs and post them on social media so we can 'check in'. My husband and I were so nervous leaving our pup anywhere so I did extensive review searching before leaving our pup anywhere. The best reviews and recommendations were Houndstown Farmingdale. We went to meet with them first with our dog Parker and he acted like if we left he wouldnt care because he loved it right away. Everyone was so friendly ,the place looked organized and clean so that week we brought him in for the day. Through the day like the nut dog parent I am I called twice to check on him and they gave me a great report and didn't seem bothered by my calls. But then they started posting pictures of Parker enjoying his day on facebook. It was SO nice to see and he had a big smile on his face. I was extremly happy and we just booked an overnight for him and plan to bring him back often so he can play with his new friends. The next morning when we left for work, usually he is sad, but the poor thing got so excited and thought he was going back to Houndstown to see his friends. We have taken our dog here several times and our dog loved it. The last time we boarded our dog was quite a different experience though. Our dog contracted a virus from the facility and became very sick with diarrhea, extreme fatigue, urinating herself while laying down and no appetite. When we called during the week to check in we were not informed of the situation. When we called after our dogs stay to see if they noticed anything, they then mentioned how she was not well during her stay. When we complained to the owners, they did not take our complaint seriously and they were offensive towards us with their responses. They accused us of fabricating our claims. It seems that our dog was just a number and that the care they provide is below reasonable standards. We will not be going back. read more

Love love love it! They take great care of our dog and they have so much fun! My dog cannot wait to get in the car to go and once we are there she is running to get inside. She comes home so tired she falls asleep on the car ride home. It was very hard to find a place that didnt discriminate against pitbulls I was so happy to find that they do not judge the breed and that they take time to evaluate all dogs before a daycare session. They really care about your dogs here and are very understanding how nervous we can get leaving our dog somewhere for an extended time. They are happy to answer any questions and give updates and post pictures of your dog playing throughout the day! I haven't found any place like it! Would definitely recommend ! Only down side is for over night stays the dogs are put away when they close and they are there alone until morning but they do have a security and camera system. Let me just start by saying I brought my 5 month old puppy here once and he came home exhausted and happy... the only thing was he was so thirsty as if he didn't get any water all day. I brought him again today and they handed me him smelling of pee, absolutely parched and way too hyper. I paid $33 today for my dog to get home in worse condition than he was when I dropped him off. I don't know if he was left in a cage or what happened but I am NEVER coming back and I recommend nobody even brings their dog there. If you're looking for a trustworthy day camp for your fur baby, I highly recommend Hounds Town. Very attentive staff and you can see that they love their job and all the fur babies! My dog has been attending for a little over a year and always looks forward to going. In days he doesn't go he will look at his bag and bark at it. I love that they are able to go outside If they want, even have baby pools over the summer! One of the deal breakers for me was to see the dogs are not kept in cages during break time, they have individual houses ( so cute ) Love when they have pet parties for different holidays and birthday celebrations. HT also post photos on social media through out the day. Its extremely convenient they open at 6am bc we have to be at work early. Very quick and easy drop off and pick up process. Had a last minute need for two nights of boarding for our pup. The people working at Houndstown seemed fine. HOWEVER, I do not understand leaving the facility completely unattended from 7 PM to 6 AM. This facility is located off the beaten path, in an industrial park. You get the picture... this is not the place for our dog ever again. Ohhh, and for holidays, they are closed to customers, they have a person come in twice to allow the dogs out to relieve themselves. That is not the kind of dog care that I find acceptable. Once I found this out, I opted for a place where there is someone on site 24/7. Update - Sorry the reply function is not working. I believe our pup was there starting 8/23. (Not comfortable leaving personal info on the public chat. Once the messenger link works, I am happy to share.) I understand your location and have no issue with it. What troubled me is that no one is on site overnight. Then for Labor Day, I was told someone comes back to let the dogs out for bathroom breaks; I was not told the dogs got to play again for 2 hours three times; is that the case? An alarm system is great, but if there is a real emergency, like a fire, by the time anyone gets there it could be too late. When I left my dog there I (wrongly) assumed that there would be someone on site at all times. Perhaps other boarding facilities leave pets locked indoors with no one on site; but that is just not a situation I am comfortable with. It might be helpful if you disclose when dogs are left unattended and the holiday routine. As to your question, yes, I did verify that there was a person on site at all times at the commercial facility we boarded our dog over the holiday weekend. read more

We found out about Hounds Town not too long ago when another popular kennel would no longer take our 14 year old Border Collie Maxwell for overnight stays. He had arthritis and had a lot of trouble getting up but once he was lifted up he could stand and walk short distances around our yard. Hounds Town was so kind and compassionate towards our sweet lovable dog. They treated him with loving care the few times he stayed there and he was happy to go back each time. I recently my boarded my two dogs for 6 days at the Farmingdale facility. I was completely satisfied with the care. I love the fact that they have "play time & rest time" during the day for the dogs. My two dogs were able to stay together in a room at night, which was perfect for them. The facility is clean and welcoming. I have also used them for day care for one of my dogs. I love that she gets to play and socialize with the other dogs and comes home tired!! The price is reasonable. They offer baths for the dogs at the end of their stay at a reasonable price. If your dog is there for more than 7 days the bath is free. I was recommended to The Farmingdale facility by a friend and I have now recommended it to some of my other friends. I absolutely love this place!! My dog gets so excited in the car on the way here and runs towards the front door when we arrive!! I initially used Hounds Town to board my dog for my wedding, after months of searching for the perfect place for my energetic puppy. We ended up not only using them for boarding but we take George there often for 'Doggie Daycare" and we could not be happier!! He comes home exhausted! Our dog attends doggy day there five days a week. The facility is very clean and the staff is great. They help new dogs to socialize with dogs of the same temperament and personality.
