I was with Bank of America for 8 years. I never knew a bank could actually be this amazing in taking care of people. I wanted an auto loan and many banks rejected me and when I came into USCCU not only did they help me but the rate they had me in was fantastic. I ended up getting a checking's account here and each time I come get money they always ask how I'm doing and if I'm enjoying the car. I'm looking for a mortgage in a couple months and will definitely do it with them when I'm ready. read more

Been a member of USC Credit Union for many years. I've been keeping my account active despite the highly inconvenient nature of not having a physical branch around. I finally have been pushed enough and will be cancelling my account once I have fully decoupled everything from it. USCCU failed abjectly to protect my capital and honor its fiduciary duty to me. I disputed a debit card transaction from a dishonest merchant that failed to give me a refund that I was due. Despite providing crystal clear, irrefutable evidence, USCCU chose to drag its feet and still render no decision for almost 90 total days. This is highly unacceptable. I can't and won't trust this absurdly terrible institution to handle a penny more of my capital than what is absolutely needed to pay bills that are still tied to my checking account there. USCCU failed to provide good service multiple times when I tried to take out a car loan. USCCU failed to protect my rights as a consumer when a merchant failed to provide me a refund that I was due. Sure, I eventually managed to work things out with the merchant, but I should've had my capital returned to me far earlier. read more

USCCU has finally broken the straw that's made me realize I need to close my account for good. I disputed a transaction with a retailer (an airline) that admitted they did not render a service to me. Despite photo and email proof where the retailer's customer service agent clearly stated the service was not rendered, USCCU refused to allow a chargeback. I have accounts with Chase and Bank of America, two big banks people always say are terrible. But I've only had stellar customer service from either. This would've been a slam dunk, no doubt case for either of them. Meanwhile, USCCU has been a broken, sinking ship for years and I stayed on due to some strange loyalty being an alumnus, but it is only a credit union in name. I even tried to get a quote for them on a car I purchased last year... BOA beat them! Seriously guys, you've been warned. read more

I tried to get my car refinanced here, and it was like pulling teeth getting them to respond. I was working with Mirella Fernandez, provided her with all the necessary documents and she never responded. I emailed her multiple times, called multiple times and was told she would call me back, never did. I eventually went somewhere else, and am glad I did. I can only imagine how they treat customers, if this is how they treat prospective customers. To top things off they ran a hard inquiry on my credit, I have very good credit, so that's not the reason they didn't respond. I recieved a check for work, it was a decent amount of change. I have California credit union and I live in the neighborhood. I came to this bank and the atm had trouble reading my check. This was the second time I came here to cash my check. ATM was being serviced the first time. This time the ATM did not want to read my check and it would not let me put in the amount of the check. I told the women inside and they brushed me off. I tried again and this time I said your machines not working. The youngest came outside. She did that thing people do to Black Women where she refused to allow me to finish sentences. It frustrated me and I actually put the card in backwards. Then she reached for my card and I stopped her and said Im flustered and I know how my card goes in. Then she said: "I don't have to help you. I'm doing you a solid by coming out here". She says this because she thought I was just neighborhood riff raff. Actually I'm the neighborhood professor but even if I was not she should not have treated anyone this way. I felt myself becoming angry do I walked away and told here I would be back to talk to her manager. I picked up my Amazon and came back to the bank and opened an account I wanted my check in the bank. So in order for these people to believe that their atm was not working I had to open an account. They tried so hard to stop me from opening an account. They told me all the things I need to open an account and expected me not to have them. Finally I open my account. Then when they tried to put my check in the atm they experienced the same thing I did and had to try 3 different machines. So basically their racism cost me 1hr and an hard inquiry to my credit just to have them acknowledge there was something wrong with their machine and I needed help cashing my check because of the malfunction. They assumed so much and I had to tell them I was a professor before they took me seriously. Well at least now they will see me enough to learn racism is old and tired. read more
