The local folks know exactly what can be done (their services have been scaled back because of budget cuts), and if you need an appointment or a walk in is okay. If an appointment, might be ~6 weeks out because of backlog, be prepared. 2. 4 separate people will ask you why you're visiting, be super clear in what you need + if you have an appointment or were told you didn't have to make one. 3. Listen carefully for the numbers being called. Their PA system is super mid, and depending on who is calling the number from what window, it might not be clear. Lol everyone in the waiting room banded together to try discern what's being said. "You got that ticket number?" "Think it was this, who caught the window number?" 4. The employees are short staffed, but very empathetic + helpful. You just have to work together with them, have your id + documents ready for when it's your turn and they ask for stuff. Thanks to the guy that helped me (think AF vet?), got what I needed to file taxes for my mom who recently passed.

They advise to check in on your phone with confirmation number once outside the door. The worker who helped me said that most times the people don't have current address where the SSN card be can mailed to and correct documents. I got receipt of my application, instructions in case my card doesn't come in 2 weeks, number to call. Card came in within 2 week mark so I can begin my next steps to changing my last name. Much appreciation to the staff for making my first trip to SSA building a successful one.

When you arrive, just sit down until someone comes out of the office and ask who's next. What really helped me find the place was someone's photo of Pillar #24, which helped to guide me to the escalators upstairs to the US Customs & Border Protection office. (*) The only bus that goes to the airport is the W-Line, which used to be the #20. The route has changed and the only stop at the airport is in front of the LEI stands. You catch the bus going back at the same place. Walk towards the airport. There's a sidewalk up to a point, then you have to carefully walk on a piece of land by a fence until you get to the roads that run by the Arrivals. Take a good look to your right to make sure there are no vehicles coming and walk across the road to the pedestrian walkway. Press the button and cross when the Walk signal lights up. The Pillar there is #29, so walk right to #24 and take the escalators up and go right. Whew.

Not knowing where it was, unsure of parking, and how hectic the airport can be made me anxious. This is how it went for us, including a timeline which turned out to be much less than what I read online: 1. Fill out application online. 2. After 1 day, we were notified we received condional approval and to schedule the in-person interview. They had available times as early as a couple days later. In order to get the times we wanted, our appointments were six days later. 3. On the day of the interview, ideally, you should go to the Terminal 2 Parking and park on the first floor, Ewa-side. Then you can just walk across to the main building. Once you get to the main building, take the elevator to Floor 2. Exit the elevator and head Ewa, walking between the airline check-in and roadway. After a 5-10 minute walk, depending on where you crossed over from the parking lot, you should see the sign below. 4. The interview only takes about 5 minutes. 5. About 2 hours after the interview, we received an email saying we received final approval. The whole process took only 8 days!!! It could have been even less if we took the first available interview time.

Having PreCheck pretty much saved my sanity as building up to this point has been short of a miracle that I got here in tact the process is so easy though wished it wasn't so far away though I could use the exercise as I didn't need to take anything out and just hele on was so easy. Made an appointment on Aloha Q for an appointment at 9 am when they open. Unusual thing is because…read morethis branch is at Pearlridge Center which opens at 10 a.m. you must wait for the dmv employee to come up so the security guard can open the doors. The employee checks you off on his clipboard, make sure you have your appointment confirmation code. Once you go down a floor head to their office at far left. You will be checked for your id and application. Somehow I missed the part about filling in an application so I was given one and proceeded forward but filled in the form first before taking a seat. Luckily it was just a duplicate drivers license I needed since the lamination on mine was peeling off from one top edge. My number was called to window 2 and I had the nicest young man. I told him I no longer needed glasses as a restriction since I had both eyes cataract surgeries. He asked if I wanted to take the eye test. Yes! I passed. Bring your check made out to City and County of Honolulu for $6. Next you move over two windows to your left, get fingers scanned then get your photo retaken. Hooray! At the earliest your plastic license will be mailed to you in 2 weeks. You get a cool temporary license with your photo and information on it. Only catch is you cannot travel with a temporary license. Fortunately I can travel using my passport as ID when I travel internationally. In and out in half an hour. So glad the employee I had was so pleasant, and smiled.

I had to immediately merged into the left lane. THANKED GOD NO ONE WAS IN THE LEFT LANE TO ME! YOU COULD OF KILLED OR EVEN INJURED ME AND YOUR PASSENGERS! Some lady answered the phone and tried to help me out. I described my wallet and told her my phone number. She called me like 2 or 3 times to let me know if my wallet was in lost and found. I was very thankful to her for trying to find my wallet. Eventually, I found my wallet nearby my apartment. The point is that the lady tried very hard to find my wallet and I am very thankful for that.

First, be prepared for a bit of a trip after your long flight. It's a bit of a walk past the gates, past baggage claim, near the international section of the terminal to get to the Airport Animal Quarantine Holding Facility. Thankfully, there is a shuttle that gets you pretty close (and then can just go to baggage claim after). And more importantly, and the reason why I am even doing this review, is because of the amazing and helpful staff who met us and the other animals from the plane at our arrival gate and took us through the whole process, showed the best locations for our animals to relieve themselves, and much much more. They made the chaotic first time experience extremely smooth. So thank you, Francis. The Hawaiian process to bring an animal here may seem daunting, stressful, and pricy. But they are doing their part to keep the island rabies free. Also, unlike many other places, while the requirements list is long and complicated, their website is extremely clear and easy to follow. Yes, you'll have to do multiple trips to your vet, do various very specific testing, procure documents and get original signatures (no scans or copies), but at least it wasn't convoluted and unclear. It can be a lengthy process but it's for a good cause and most importantly, the final step was made smoother and made the overall experience great having Francis assist us on the final leg of the journey.

I did learn that too late as I remembered it was just for domestic use and didn't realize it's not good for international I could've avoided the cattle call of undoing all your items. Not a fan and what a process that I've planned to make sure all my liquids are in quart sized bags, nothing sharp and all my electronics are ready to dump in the bins...Just love how they tell you to unload it only to take out of the bins and put it directly on the conveyor belt to have some of the parts of my bag almost get stuck on it as breaking it before I even start my journey isn't a great sigh. Many do hate travel solely for this process though safety is something I don't mind sacrificing moments to get it done but it all has to be unified and consistent and on this day it seemed to be as is.
