One of the best…read moreparts of this camp is that all children have the opportunity to swim in an indoor olympic-size swimming pool every day with daily swim lessons. The pool is clean and well maintained. Our other favorite part of Future Stars Suffolk is the giant indoor air-conditioned sports arena that the children play in every day! I never have to worry about my children over-heating outside in extreme summer temperatures or miss playing sports and being active b/c it's raining outside. The large size of the arena is phenomenal and Future Stars sections it off for the different sports and age groups. All of the counselors at Future Stars Suffolk have been fun, friendly and attentive. The director is excellent, very visible and hands on and the entire office staff is always kind, prompt and responsive to any questions I have. We highly recommend Future Stars Suffolk!!!

The owner and staff are all great people. When we were first interested in the camp they were easy to accommodate us for a tour and meeting. My son instantly wanted to join this camp after the first 5 minutes. While my son spends many days doing trips, the actual camp itself is very impressive. Tucked away at the end of a residential street is a massive sprawling day camp that feels like you're miles away from everything even though you're actually just a few minutes drive away from 110. They have a ton of facilities to offer the campers. Multiple pools, go cart track, zip lines, all the sports you could want, a pond w paddle boats, archery, art & crafts and even a circus performance class! Every day is a party at KENWAL - when you drop off your kids in the morning they have party music blasting away and the super friendly staff are all out in the lot to greet the kids and keep the traffic flowing. You know you're kids are in for a fun day every day! The office staff is flexible with payments, offer different payment options, discounts for early pay and they are just great to work with. We've used other camps on the island and we wish we found Kenwal years ago. Prices are reasonable compared to other camps and they offer a lot more services in my opinion and don't seem to have the staffing issues we've seen elsewhere. Counselors are plentiful and certainly look like they are having fun working here. Highly recommend. Bring on the summer!!!

At orientation, the camp owner saw my pre k child feeling nervous. My son hadn't even met his counselors before the camp owner decided it would be mandatory for me to hire a babysitter to babysit my son in order for him to attend camp. I calmly explained that my son can be shy especially in new surroundings. My suggestions for success for my child were completely dismissed and were met with smug comments and complete lack of empathy. It was shocking and disappointing to see Coleman heading in this direction. If you are considering Camp Coleman, I strongly advise going elsewhere, where ownership cares about your children and not just your check. What kind of camp is this!?

I got a chance to visit them last summer when my family took my little cousin there for a day tour. I was blown away by how much they've grown both in sheer size of the property and all of the cool features they've built. Walking from the parking lot brought back so many memories. It's kind of wild how your brain can instantly bring you back to specific moments from over 20 years ago. The wildest thing that I saw they had built was their new American Ninja Warrior Course. It wasn't any rinky dink diy job either... it felt like I was on the set of the actual show! All of the staff members I met were outstanding young men and women. They were all professional, polite, and enthusiastic about their job. I remember my counselors back in the day having those same qualities and it's clear that Coleman really hires good people. I accredit my current skills in swimming and archery to the wonderful instructions that I received day in and day out when I went. Looking at the prices, they've certainly gone up since I was little but everything sure has. I'm sure if you ask my parents, they'd tell you that it was worth the cost because when the bus dropped me off in the evening each day, I was very happy but also completely exhausted. I would eat dinner, head to my room, and knock out immediately. Prior to my camp days, getting a kid like me to bed was darn near impossible. If you're looking for a phenomenal camp for your child, I'd give them a call to explore your options or to simply learn more.

Not surprisingly, my son came home with a stomach virus. Hope no one bullies your kid. A kid was calling my son names. Owner said "kids will be kids." When he began to hit him owner said, in writing, "Why do you believe your son?" Do yourself and your kids a favor and stick to a camp with more experienced administrators who know how to handle these inevitable situations.

As an OPWDD family, coordinating approvals, support brokerage, and Fiscal Intermediary (FI) requirements can already be extremely time-consuming, and navigating those systems often causes significant delays that are outside a family's control. I was hoping for greater flexibility and collaboration during the enrollment process, but instead felt that the process became increasingly difficult and ultimately decided not to move forward. I appreciate the importance of ensuring campers are a good fit, but I believe families navigating complex disability-service systems would benefit from more understanding, clear communication, and flexibility throughout the admissions process.

Management pretty much ignored me after I handed over $20,000 for my children to have a fun summer. Some of the management changed this year and it was definitely FOR THE WORSE. When I did this a year ago, they had you wait in the lobby and gave you a guided tour and explained things, made you hold a snake, and gave you items to hold and touch that aren't part of the free for all it is now. I asked if they can do the guided tour, and we were told they have staff along the way to answer questions...not one human in site! So unfortunate, you guys really need that element back! By the way, I kind of feel bad for the goat that has his pen right next to the trex as big as a house...I've seen Jurassic Park, they are not besties. I'm sure that goat staring him down all day is scared for his life. :(
